I was at this very show, and the only savior of the night for the lack of vince when he went absent for 45 minutes was the great drum solo from Zoltan.... not only did he cover for vince but he ran the show by himself and earned my respect as one of the top drummers ever ...
Two things.... 1. He does this for every song in a 1 1/2 hour long show pretty much every night. 2. He never loses timing or misses a beat even as he is jumping around, throwing sticks, standing on and jumping off the drums. I wish I had 10% of his energy.
He's always been that good. He can bounce those sticks off the wall, floor and ceiling and not miss a beat. My best buddy. One of the nicest, funniest guys you will ever meet
Even though people criticize this guy, there's 2 good things about him! 1- He never misses the beat nor tempo 2- You can feel he is pouring his heart out in what he does, without showing off.
Helped tear down a VN show a few years back and had chance to chat with Zoltan Chaney for a few minutes (great guy btw!) Asked him how he liked the drums that were provided since they weren't his. His reply "Meh, they're 'tubs' " lol
1st and foremost he is solid as a damn rock and looks awesome doing it. As a drummer who loves visuals this is the stuff you live for. And he doesn't copy Tommy, Shannon or Morgan. Truly his own thing!!!
Was blessed to see zolten in a killer cover band called lois lane and Jeff in a different amazing cover band called Kody Lee back in the day here in Florida so cool seeing them both in the same band together taking it to the next level. Bravo gentleman ya both still got it!!
This is what rock ‘n’ roll is all about, it has to be in your heart and soul and you put everything in your life blood into it. When it’s at its full force It’s absolutely magical at times. This is an awesome video!
Saw this dude with Vince Neil at Moondance Jam here in Minnesota, dude is insane, couldn't keep my eyes off of his showmanship! Amazing multi-tasking drummer!
First time I saw this guy with Vinnie, he hit so hard he busted one of his cymbal stands in half. At another show I was the lucky recipient of one of his busted sticks.
Any people or musician (especially drummers) criticizing this dude, knows absolutely nothing about not only staying in the pocket and how hard that is let alone put on this level of stage presence without skipping a fucking beat. To all the people crying, swallow a box of fish hooks.
@@roberthaizlip7143 just for reference, I'm not a boy, I built and then sold a touring sound company when I was younger so I have worked with lots of drummers and I feel he is very entertaining, jmo
There aren’t many others that have more fun playing the drums than this guy! Super cool! Interesting how his left kick is there for show. He uses a double pedal for the right kick. Unless I’m missing something!
You mean Vince the legend? With the legendary voice? Vince who is still selling more records than most of the bands out there? That's cute, Vince is gonna be devastated if he sees your comment. :)
@@denisaleksandrov3076 1st. I met him twice? We lived next to each other. Asshole both times. I Spent many days with tommy and heather? Good peeps. 2nd ? As for singing? In the right place in the right time !!! Not a good vocalist.
that's incredible. The timing of bouncing that stick off the platform, wow. I always thought drummers should be out there with the rest of them, why not?
Damn, would have never thought that. Knew he always had a bad ass set, but only seen him play in old videos. Also not a slaughter fan. I do have new respect for that cat.
Moving his monitor wire out of the way at 2:07 was his slickest move yet. His drum tech got caught sleeping on that one😂. He bounces his sticks bro’! YOU KNOW THIS! 😂😂 Edit: ALRIGHT! Scratch that! His slickest move was calling his tech over to tighten his cymbal stand RIGHT BEFORE HE GOT A WRENCH FROM HIS STICK BAG AND TOSSED IT TO HIM!! 😂😂😂😂 3:05
You'll notice him plug in a cable before playing, then his tech unplugs it towards the end. I'm pretty sure that was for running a backing track (my guess, backing vocals). This means he's also playing to a click. Playing this song to a click, not super hard (I've done it), BUT doing it with all those movements/theatrics (never mind the behind the back wench pass to his tech), is fucking impressive. The guy is legit.
@@onemoremisfit He disconnects it there because he wasn't using a track on the next song, thus in-ears not needed. With his movements I have no doubt he prefers to use wedges for monitoring, unless there's a song with a track, then he plugs in.

It's jaw dropping how he doesn't miss a beat...

I wanna know how many drum heads and cymbals he breaks? Beats them like they owe him money.
He was just born to blast the shit of a drumkit, that ability is something that even Tommy Lee himself would be jealous of
Those acrobatics are so unique.
One of my favorite drummers, I can watch this all night.

Amazing how he casually flicks the wrench to the drum tech mid-song without even missing a beat!
"ZOLTAN" Is amazing...He is a SHOW in himself.....He could put on a "ZOLTAN" SHOW....

Soooo good! and the "double stick throw", don't know if I have seen anyone else do that.

Not a backing track, in ear monitor, the only "live" signal he has is an extra bass cabinet to his left
