Please don’t ever stop making these videos, I could watch them all day! Your craftsmanship is beautiful, your editing is beautiful, and your family is beautiful. Personally, my favorite parts of your videos are seeing your happy family. I have two little boys myself, and it makes me so happy to see another father who is doing their best for the ones they love!

Woodworking is my lifelong dream and hope.
The video will last a lifetime. Don't worry^^
I’m not a craftsman, but doing what I want to do
Making small memories with family, dreaming of growing old
      I am living hard.
Memories with children, happiness while making furniture
It's all just precious and grateful to me.
Another father raising children in South Korea!

Beautiful work brother.. I really appreciate your use of tools from varying woodworking cultures.. noticed you using a Nielson block plane, and western paring chisel along with your Japanese hand tools.. I feel like many of us get caught up in thinking we have to adhere to traditions to be true to the art and may loose sight of the bigger picture.. I like that you take what you can from masters near and far..

Great design, impeccable execution - this chair is beautiful in its perfection ...
But it seems to me that the curved part of the back of the cold is fragile. It should not be cut, but bent from the board.

    • @squarerulefurniture
      @squarerulefurniture  4 роки тому +2

I thought a lot about the backrest. Thin banding is possible enough, but the connection to the back leg of the chair was very difficult, so we had to do shape processing.

It's not comfortable. It's not terribly inconvenient though.
When designing this chair, I thought a lot about the work on the seat part, but unfortunately, the inclination was not applied.
The next chair production will focus on the inclination and comfort of the seat.

Put on vinyl gloves and use cotton gloves over them.
Usually, the oil finish is done with cotton gloves
Only the top of the table top is finished using 100% cotton.

@@squarerulefurniture thanks for replying, it is a great machine but I live in UK so can not get one. Do you know what is that type of saw called where you can cut tenons like that? I have been searching I have only seen woodworkers in Asia using them but I want one.

@@davidnisbet2057 The origin of this machine is Japan.
There are many different brands of saw machines in Japan.
I also bought a machine from Japan through a used dealer.
Wouldn't it be possible to buy it through ship?

Possibly, I will look in to that. There is no equivalent saw made in Europe but it looks very useful for cutting tenons. Thank you

Including this table, three other tables have been filmed. But I'm thinking about which ones to upload on UA-cam first.
      Thanks for your attention!

Incredible! 2:36: What is the name of that saw? And at the end, is that red tape you’re wrapping or ribbon for a clamp? Thank you for all the inspiration - I love your work.

Probably so, I know that only South Korea and Japan use this machine.
The history of this machine begins in Japan.
