This one was MONTHS in the making. A Beautiful, Black Magic Pearl Metallic, Volkswagen R32 Golf. We've been talking for a while about getting this thing in the shop to Correct & Coat the paint, for a WHILE. Finally, we both had a schedule that lined up perfect and we were able to get it in. The paint wasn't in too bad of condition, except for the usual areas you'd expect. For example the hatch, hood, bottom corners of the doors (rocks get thrown up), etc. But we used a Blue Coarse Foam Cutting Pad from Sonax and some Microfiber cutting pads to get the paint corrected. I had a LOT of "Go back and Chase" work to do for some scratches, but it turned out solid!
The magic in Black Magic really really came out when I began refining the paint with the Yellow Rupes Pad and Sonax Perfect Finish. Perfect finish just gives a PERFECT, wet, slick look to paint that is just unrivaled. At least unrivaled to what I've tried. I'm sure there are polishes/finshers that do just as good, if not better, I just haven't found it yet.
Just an amazing car. Hopefully one day he will turbo that 3.2 VR6 (best sounding engine ever made) because that would be amazing. A Boosted 3.2 24 valve VR6, dang..
