Lol this is a long long story from years ago that starts from When I bought the car, I bought it for much cheaper than market-value because of it's "fault". Long story short, ignition harness had 2 of the 4 wires cut, causing misfires, and I found it BY CHANCE 2 years later (from buying it). Resoldered, and it's good to go. 😅😂

@@ccdetailing haha awesome. sounds like it was an easy fix. recently got a Mk7 R myself and for the most part it seems great. but 3 days in, the engine is overheating, EPC light switched on, limited rpm, and, and, and. kinda anxious now, sent it back to the dealership but skeptical about taking it back now. thinking i should look for something else. i've always loved the Mk7 R but this seems a risky move now.

@@sandilembatha9225 Ah sounds about right honestly. These cars REQUIRE meticulous maintenance. If not, they like to get angry. In your case though it sounds more like the water pump/thermostat (more the thermostat). Very very common. I probably replace mine very 20-30k miles give or take. I wouldn't stress too much. If the dealer is willing to take care of it, LET THEM. VW even had a recall on the waterpump/thermostat units. But I promise, if it gets sorted out, you'll love it. My Mk7 R has been a dream to own. At 132k Miles now. I've had it for almost 5 years now, through ever bolt on, big turbo, etc. My favorite car I've owned. Just make sure you do the maintenance! I'll be making a video in the next month about my car & going over it. Oil Change ever 3,000 DSG Trans Service every 30-40k Haldex AWD Rear & Front every 20k Spark Plugs every 15k (8-12 if tuned) Expect Fuel Injectors every 50k (if tuned) Timing Chains ever 90-100k Make sure oil & coolant stays topped off Lengthy response, my apologies, but I remember when I first got mine, I wished someone laid this all out to me. Awesome tip! I do this similarly when drying off the car (run rinseless or drying aid in the door jams to dry them with a drying towel) but I haven't thought of it as the physical cleaning of them. It would definitely save me both time and knee strain to probably hold off on doing them until I've brought the car inside after washing, then hit them with Microfiber + Rinseless like you said. Wouldn't have thought of it without your comment, thank you!

It was awesome meeting you too! I recognized the name as if we already met, but it's from the comments! A really cool and surreal experience. I don't now adays because of the amount of work Tyler and I both collaborate on, it's dang near every car now. But I do have the shop still and mostly work on our project cars/race cars out of there.

It’s worth every single penny, minute, and stress from the car!

I usually find myself starting off with a Griot's Garage Orange Foam pad for cutting, and I play with different compounds to find the right cutting power. I use wool/microfiber if it's really hard or damaged paint, but rarely. Foam is just more versatile, can keep it clean easier, and lasts longer imo. As for compounds, I MAJORITY of the time now a'days use Koch Chemie's Fine Cut if the paint isn't too bad (or a single step). If the swirls/scratches are more on the heavy side, then I love Koch Chemie Heavy cut. As for refining/polishing, I almost 95% of the time default to a yellow Rupes foam pad + Sonax Perfect Finish. It's just a flawless combo with enough bite to get rid of micro swirling from heavy cutting and give an amazing finish. As for touch ups, I never really charge because most I do is so so minor (as long as they have the paint). For more severe touch ups, my pricing starts around $75. Took about 6 days give or take, spending about 6 hours during the week days, and then a 14-16 hour day on Saturday to wrap everything up. Def a lot of square footage to cover Lol
