I thought it was necessary to respond to the last DESTINATION SCRATCH video in which I was called negative by several subscribers!
Remember to SUBSCRIBE to the channel!

Emotions, positive and negative, are a sign of caring. You do you Bernie, I’m along for the ride!
Thanks my friend! I wanted this to be an emotional series, showing the good and the bad aspects of the journey. Thanks for understanding.
No need to apologize Bernie. Keep going. I remember a saying someone said ' a quitter never wins and a winner never quits '
Thanks Geoff! I won’t quit although this series may continue several years 😂
Top man. Nothing wrong with honesty. That's why it's intriguing to watch your progress.
As a fellow golfer struggling around the greens I feel your pain!!!
Keep going Lester!!
Cheers Harry! Always want the channel to be honest and transparent. Hope you sort your issues out too!
That’s awesome Lester. All great news.
Don’t worry about trying to please everyone mate.
We love that you’re you.
Thanks mate! Means A lot and I appreciate the kind words.
A good summary of your journey, as golfers we all know your reputation as a golfer and to play the game you have to be honest with yourself, keep it real as I'm enjoying the journey as well, enjoy France.
Thanks mate, really hoping for some decent weather.
great update - didn't find the previous vlog negative, just honest. Good news is you are swinging well and if we ever get any decent weather you can work on your chipping again - practicing off wet mud doesn't really help anyone!! Personally, I ditch most of my wedges (and half my clubs) during the winter and put in a chipper, which for a 5 handicap is apparently 'wrong' - works though and when we start playing proper golf again the wedges go back in. Best bit of advice I got - when you hit a bad shot, laugh, puts things in perspective and lets you move on.
I don’t let bad shots on the course bother me too much, it’s more after when I look back at the score I often feel frustrated John.
Lester ,lets put this to bed forever ! Anyone with anything between the ears , would always disect and put the negatives first ! Then afterwards there isnt pressure or expectation !! You are then free to gain the positives !! Mate as far as i can see , you havegot the balance perfect !! Well done mate, seriously from the heart !!!!
Thanks Phil. Really wanted to show the highs and lows of the journey.
I thought the last vlog was great! It was real and showed how you were feeling. I personally love the fact you were being honest. Those who have watched you for a while now know you can be hard on yourself, but I feel most golfers are. We always think we could have played better! Anyway, I just liked it because you were annoyed things didn’t go how you wanted, and that’s natural. Glad you have some events coming up and enjoy your French adventure! Also I see you’re over 7,000 now so congrats!
Cheers for your continued support Tyler! I think I’m my own worse critic as you say, but I think most people are!
That's us as golfers we ride a serious roller coaster. If didn't seem so negative dont worry about the negative comments. No need to apologise mate
Thanks Brian! Wanted to make the series more serious and show both the highs and lows of the journey.
Bernie you can't be anymore transparent otherwise you would be invisible 😂 I love your channel keep going 🎉
😂 😂 thanks mate
I love the content Bernie and keep being you from Australia
Thanks my friend, I can’t be anyone else.
Keep it real always Lester. People don't understand it's about emotion and you are focussed on your goal. Life ain't a bed of roses!
Absolutely Tim! I always want to show the good and the bad on the channel!
Like what you are doing, Lester!
Cheers Bret! Appreciate the comment.
Bernie, I'm 47, I've played golf since I was a kid but never got very good. I started again in my 20s and I got down to low teens, in my 30s I got down to 5, now in my mid 40s I got to plus 1 and have settled back at 1. If I can be this low then there is no reason why you can't get back to scratch... chin up, practice smart, not harder. I realised my chipping/pitching and putting wasn't as good as people who were lower than me, so I spent my time improving the worst part of my game. I had the chipping yips and found being as wristy as possible helped me stay relaxed and improved it dramatically, now its one of my strengths.
That’s a great story mate! Love stuff like this! Hope for me too!
Pal? You do you….simple as! Negativity towards yourself is honesty to yourself, with what you’ve noticed and analysed. Nothing wrong with that at all. You can’t be all smiles, pixie dust and rainbows on vlogs all the time.
Mate, I think it was a raw, honest vlog. And this is also a raw honest vlog too.
You’ve got the game, it’s bumps in the road and you’ll get there. Too much talent there.
Cheers Rob! Not sure I can do anyone else 😂 I’ve always wanted my content to be raw and me! I was just worried people didn’t get the vlog and I didn’t want to upset anyone.
Bound to be ups and downs trying to get to scratch and the video was just an interesting and honest assessment of your game at the moment.
Cheers Michael, most got it but several didn’t unfortunately.
Forget the haters. I’ve rewatched it and yea you may have been hard on yourself but you were just being honest with how you felt at the time! Chin up and keep grinding. Love to know what your training plan is! Let’s go champ!
Thanks my friend. Always want to show the highs and lows of any journey.
Hi Bernie
Colin again. Watched all your episodes now. Man you are a great striker of the ball.
In your putting lesson. Witch is my strong part I see that you short back and a more aggressive through swing. As like in chipping you need rhythm. Tic toc. If you can get this man watch out world. Hope you don't mind me commenting . Putting is my thing. Good luck happy golfing
I need all the help I can get Colin! I’m working hard on it, but under pressure i seem to forget everything!
Love your honesty and determination always. That vlog was a great watch and shows us what a useful thing it is to really take a snapshot and thoroughly assess where we are. Stick with it my friend, it will come good. In the meantime there are clearly many golfers enjoying watching your progress.
Thanks Duncan! Appreciate the kind words! We go again!
Bernie Bernie Bernie.. the only thing you’re rubbish at is picking the correct 😉 winner in giveaways lol. Don’t beat yourself up bro’, I’ve always found you to be one of the most honest and transparent content creators on YT. Keep it up dude and you’ll get there. Also REALLY appreciate likes and responses to comments on all social media platforms. Never met, but you feel like a true mate!
Thanks Duncan! I appreciate the support and I’ll try and improve my picking the correct winner in the future ability 😂
Thought the vlog showed your passion,
Thanks Patrick! That was the idea!
It really worked for me, helped me anchor my fundamentals down and built confidence in my stroke. It keeps you honest in your line,
I’ll definitely give it a go Dave
I'm sure, when the conditions improve, you'll get more consistent with practice. We're all putting on fairways at the moment so our short game is in the toilet. Good luck
Cheers mate! We actually had some sun today in Devon! Things are looking up!
Read the comments from your subscribers. You will be fine. You have a great bunch of people following you.
I do Walter and I’m very lucky.
I must admit watching both Videos I feel myself getting low as you speak.
However you’re honest and I prefer that.
I think you have given all the answers to what you need to do.
I look forward to hearing you are scratch, you’ve definitely got the game to do it.
Thanks Tony! Il be more upbeat from now on I promise 😂 thanks for the words of encouragement!
no need to apologise, its was a good video and a good insight into your journey to get to scratch.
not to many UA-camrs keep it real, so keep going mate
i’ve not been following your channel for long but glad i have.
been watching all past videos and all a great watch ,
looking forward to your journey in 2024 and future videos/content
Thanks Jason! Trying to make all the content as transparent and honest as possible!
Hmm, sometimes we are our harshest critics. Especially when we have our own expectations to aspire to. You know what you are capable of doing and it must be disappointing to not. You have identified areas of improvement so carry on as needed. Cheers from Texas ⛳🏌️🤠
Cheers Michael! That was exactly the purpose of the last vlog!
You can't please all of the people all of the time and I thought that an apology wasn't needed but you have been very honest about your 'journey'.
Cheers Paul! Just didn’t want to feel I’d upset people so thought I’d explain the reason for the vlog so they understood more.
Thanks Bernie. I find your channel very interesting as it tells the honest and real story of what it takes to achieve golf goals. I am sure that many can relate to that. The last video you felt that you needed to build on your short game and putting skills, regardless of difficult putting green conditions, and I am sure that with practise you will enhance your skills and confidence and will improve. Personally I did not see anything negative in your last video, just reality and honesty. Keep it up Bernie. With all of the rain you guys are getting you should invest in some wellies with golf spikes. Cheers!
Thanks Graeme! I wasn’t sure whether to upload the last video but thought it was important to slow the highs and lows as you say. Hopefully more highs then lows 😂
No need to apologise everyone of us who plays golf gos through frustrations keep it up Bernie and congrats on 7k
Thanks Karlos. I guess I didn’t like the thought of upsetting subscribers/ people.
Honest video mate, golf is hard, I struggle with short game like you, I have had lessons from some great short game coach's but just can't get it right, it's the really short chips 6-12 feet that kill my scores.
I feel your pain mate. I can chip and pitch around a putting green fine, but under pressure on the course is the issue.
The reason I watch your videos is that it is honest and I can relate to it, we all have our ups and downs on a course but you put it out there for all to see warts an all, keep it up mate scratch by the end of the year for sure 👍
Thanks Dave! I’ll always be transparent and honest on this channel. I think it’s my usp.
Bernie, you've absolutely nothing to apologise for. Keep plugging away and ignore the negative comments. Constructive criticism is fine but this content is free to watch. What do these people want? ignore them and move on.
Cheers Gerry! Just didn’t want to upset anyone so thought it was necessary to explain the purpose of the vlog and clear it up.
Love the honesty pal. Good luck in all the comps. We're with you for the journey. Oh and grats on the £7k
Thanks David! Appreciate that!
Bloody hell Bernie stop beating yourself up, irrespective of your golf you have an interesting channel which I will continue to subscribe to. You are a great character with a great sense of humour. Your honesty is refreshing and a good character trait to have, unlike our current politicians who all seem to be able to lie constantly without batting an eyelid. Most watching your channel will never be able to play to the standard you can but appreciate even at your level of play that we all have aspects of our game we can improve on.
Cheers Harry! I was just concerned I’d upset a few subscribers who may not have understood the reasons for the previous vlog. Guess it’s good to talk 😂
👍 ever tried tapping a coin to the face and hit about 30 4ft putts? For some reason it works for me. When ever my mind gets stuck on what path my strokes on I do that drill.
Appreciate you man.
I like the idea of that drill Max! Thanks. I’ll give that a try.
Very good... entering some events will be a good motivator. Don't sweat some of the comments mate. Some people don't understand that the only way to make progress is to be brutally honest with yourself, when analyzing parts of one's golf game.... and then do the work to fix it. You are doing the things you should. If you were going down a wrong path, I would certainly speak up about that. I'm a certified instructor, so I have an OCD about that LOL. Putting... you have addressed... Short Game... work in progress. Full Swing... dispersion cone reduction. (next up) ;) The Wall of Doom is calling your name. LOL ps.. EvnRoll has a good looking armlock grip...if you haven't seen them yet. Cheers Lester.
Thanks mate! The video was for the reason to motivate and to get back on the right track! I feel it’s helped and that hopefully will make the next vlogs / videos more positive!
@@berniebarnesgolf You're plenty positive, mate. Just keep on showing your journey as it is. It's not easy work honing the game to top shape... and then add vloging on top of it. Cheers.
Thanks!
G’Day Lester, as the late Great LPGA player Louise Suggs was quoted “ Golf is very much like a love affair. If you don’t take it seriously, it’s no fun, if you do, it breaks your heart. Don’t break your heart, but flirt with the possibility.” All Good Mate, we’ve all been there.
I love that! What a quote! I’ve never heard it before!
Enjoying the journey, the honesty, the highs and the lows.....always keep it real Lester!
I will always keep it real Mark! I promise!
It’s all 30yds and in. But the problem is upstairs. It’s a sports psychologist you need ❤
I use to get really frustrated with golf I had no lessons , still haven't but was lost and angry with my golf game. With youtube I have improved my technique and older now so not worried as much mate . Need to relax best as can because tight muscles are not as efficient
Absolutely my friend! I’m definitely calmer than I use to be, but still room for improvement in that aspect too! 😂
@@berniebarnesgolf yeah golf is tuff lol
I can understand why you got some negativity but also recognise your need for honesty in your vlog. I still enjoyed it immensely as it demonstrates your passion to achieve your goal. Knowing where you are and why are key to improving, thats what metrics are for. As for your short game maybe buy Dan Grieves book or even book a lesson with him !looking forward to more content 👍
Thanks Barry and the vlog has already had a positive outcome for me person with practicing and then entering some events.
Bernie keep doing what you doing what ever you do in life some people aren't gana like be yaself do what ya thinks best i
Thanks Bobby! I can only be me, like or hate me 😂
What you’re talking of is emotional honesty, Bernie and there is nothing wrong with that. I watched it and you just had the strength if character to admit the good play but also highlight wasn’t at the performance you need it to be.
That’s all I wanted to do with that vlog Mark! Sort of motivate me into making the necessary changes to get back on track with the series!
Good series this, sort of a new take on the psychology of golf. Hope it helps you achieve scratch and helps me shoot under 80😂
Fingers crossed we can both achieve our goals my friend!
Dont beat yourself up Lester, there is no need. Your taking us on your journey, its much appreciated... 😎
Thanks my friend! We take the journey together!
Well said Lester, sunshine is starting to appear! Keep it up buddy 👍
I can’t wait for the sunshine Craig!
Ah Forget about it Bernie, just do what you want to do, not really up to anyone else
Thanks Dan! I want to show it all good and bad on this channel!
Bernie would lije to see you do a video of the second hand market and good deals out there
I will definitely do that Bobby! My next video includes a second hand set I bought. You may enjoy that.
Bernie you are such an honest and straight forward guy. We are all supporting you. Don''t be too hard on yourself, you are a very good golfer and you will succeed and be aware that we are all rooting for you Go Bernie go !!
Cheers David! It was a vlog to give myself a kick you know where 😂
Chin up Bernie, enjoy and it will happen
Thanks Barry! Worse case scenario we go again next year 😂
I commented to your reply on the last video. You have not lost a supporter in me. . keep on trying and showing us all ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Angela! I’ll make sure I’m more positive in the future!
Your different class Lester, just keep going as you are and you’ll reach your target 👍🏻
Appreciate that Martin! Means a lot.
First time isn't linear. It's kinda wibbly wobbly. When you film a course vlog there's going to be ups and downs. And if people only want to see sunshine and unicorns then go watch a puppy video. Keep up the honest hard work, Lester.
Thanks mate! Love that description! 😂 I wanted to show the good, bad and ugly parts of the journey.
lol
Brilliant Bernie. Your journey will have highs and lows. Show it all. It’s real.
Thanks Steven and that’s exactly what I want to do in this particular series. Thanks for watching.
Well Lester - What can I say - You won't become a zero handicap player until you get your chipping and putting under control. From my own experience chipping is simply a mature of practise and training muscle memory to perform, Once you have muscle memory trained all you need to do is trust it and not dwell on the ODD mistake, With regards to your putting and not returning the face of the putter back to square on impact is simply practise and more practise, I spent a lot of time in my garage practising my putting stroke on synthetic grass. Personally I'm disappointed you have changed your putter But at the end of day it all gets down to technique and grooving that technique. It's always simple on paper but with dedication and commitment you'll be surprised what you can achieve and STOP swapping and changing COMIT to one or the other.
Unfortunately Graham it isn’t quite as simple as that. I practiced from may to November, 3/4 times a week (ranging from 1-2 hours) a time, on only short game and I still have a constant battle with the yips. It’s something I have to live with and accept unfortunately. Some days it’s good and some days it’s bad. Thankfully I still hit the ball good enough to win events (south west mid amateur) and keep a relatively low handicap.
Bernie, anyone that’s watched you from the beginning will know you are as transparent as a window. You’ve always had a humorous self depreciating and insecurity side to your golf in any vlogs I’ve watched. It was revealing to see some genuine demons, news flash to other commentators, we all have them, and not all of us are brave enough to share. If one person watches your video and feels an affinity or a realisation then surely it was worth posting. I can’t believe anyone would stop following you on the strength of that video, I know I won’t be. I think you’re right to attack your channel with a different angle and I salute your bravery. Keep up the good work.
Cheers James! Always wanted the channel to be honest and transparent! I didn’t want it to be just about the golf, feel it’s important to share other aspects of my life too. Thanks for understanding.
I’ve been following you since Mark Crossfield channel and I always like to see you joking and smiling. I know it’s not always easy golf but you should bring your happiness with you even if it’s competition and my recommendation is with all the people you know there must be someone to help you with your chipping and putting game. With the talent and positivity that you have you’ll get better soon at those. Keep on golfing Bernie and have fun doing it
Thanks Stephane. Wanted to add a bit of depth and flavour to the channel and be the real me.
If life & golf were easy we would soon get bored …I played on Tuesday & it was some of my best golf - tonight I went for 9 holes & played like a complete Jeremy Hunt …! We could let it get to us or we can be honest & face the issues that made it a poor round and try to improve-that was how I saw your video-so keep your chin up & get the practice in - we are all rooting for you!
Thanks Martyn and that’s exactly how I wanted it to come across! Use the vlog / game as motivation!
Crack on mate we have days we are disappointed with our scoring. I think you are just being yourself don’t worry about the moanwrs
Cheers Kris! We keep grinding! Thanks for the support.
Great video Bernie and I hope I didn’t upset you as that wasn’t my aim,and by filming things hopefully helps you out.
As always it’s hard sometimes to make yourself practice things as often we tend to slip back into are old habits.
And as you have access to people that can help better than most of us keyboard warriors lol.
I’m trying to mate by not being so hard on myself or twat shots and lack of concentration, cos when I’m out playing I’m trying more to relax and forget the bad shots but also learn from them.
I know you probably won’t take any notice of me but when I’m chipping I try and keep my swing like a putter and different clubs (wedges) it’s just nice and relaxed way of playing a shot.
Anyway keep going Bernie as I believe you’ve got it in you
Thanks David and all feedback is good whether it’s positive or negative. I’ll keep grinding no matter what and look for a solution if there is one. If not I’ll enjoy the game as I do and forgot about getting to scratch.
Hi Bernie, I've been wondering if you know who Steve Palmer is. He's the Racing Post's golf tipster. I think he's your "brother from another mother". He's a similar age, looks quite like you and has a great sense of humour. He's also a South coast dweller, but in Weymouth. Don't know why this has struck me, but it did. Anyway, keep it up Bernie.
Despite my links to the racing industry im not really into it Hugh. 😂
@@berniebarnesgolf Sure, but he's the golf expert. He knows nothing about racing. He does a podcast on youtube every Tuesday previewing the coming events. Good fun.
No need to apologise Lester Life is life ups and downs you have a goal and watching you work forward will show us just how hard it is. My goal this season is to get down and play to 15 from 18 . 😄
Cheers Dean! That’s exactly how I want this series to be. Show the ups and downs of the journey. Good luck getting to 15 mate! Sure you can do it!
Strangely enough my wife saw a couple of minutes and thought it was negative. I just felt it was the frustration of how your game is currently going. I agree with the brain fog comment I suffer the same once I have duffed one chip. The reverse is the pure joy of having chipped in off the green for a par last week and 4 points. Keep trying!
I’m not giving up David! Apologies for the negative vibe.
No need for an apology it’s the way golf goes! Good wishes
Thanks David! I’ll be positive moving forward 😂
At long last we have some decent weather down here in the SW so look forward to seeing how you get on in the coming months Bernie..ATB my friend.
Cheers mate and it’s about time! Need a boat and not a trolley recently! 😂
Saw u on Dans channel your new driver is superb best I have seen u drive
Thanks Neil! Really enjoying the driver at the moment! One less issue to worry about 😂
Great content Bernie as usual. Really good idea to do these snapshot reviews as to where each area of your game is at, given me some ideas to do the same as you need those honest conversations! 👍 Is there a template or method you use to mark each area of your game and how do you go about choosing drills or practice methods to improve each area?
Thanks Chris. I think as you’ve said I need to look at numbers and stats a bit more.
No apology needed as others have said . I like to watch someone working hard to improve . You cannot be expected to keep smiling when things go wrong . Keep going , you are a good golfer in the top 2 or 3% !
Walter Hagen the great American golfer of the 20s and 30s , 11 major wins , reckoned he hit 7 bad shots a round , if he hit one , he knew only 6 left ! Better attitude than thinking it’s all going wrong !
I like that Alex! I do need to improve my attitude at times and probably manage expectations a little. Work in progress I guess!
Well said Lester keep it going have a great trip
Thanks Mick! Praying for some decent weather!
I read the comments on your last video too and saw the comments you were talking about here. I didn't have any issues with the last video. Maybe some viewers prefer the edited version of life where all the crappy bits are cut out. I prefer an unedited version of life that includes both ups & downs. That's just me though.🤷♂️
That’s the version I prefer as well Rolf and one I will continue to show. Thanks for understanding.
I think you’re doing great Lester only weirdos comment negatively
Cheers Dale!
Well said, Bernie. We appreciate you being up front. I thought the vlog was decent. We all have ups and downs with the short game 😢😢😢
Thanks Kev! I’ll always be upfront and share everything with you all.
Bernie I feel for you while you just lack self confidence and chin up practice feel chipping you will get through this difficult time 👍
I’m back practicing again Garry, so hoping that improves the confidence.
No need to apologise Bernie. You were just being honest with how you fell. Keep going mate, you will get there. Golf is hard!!
Golf is hard Ian! But the greatest sport in the world!
Another thing ive never met a golfer whos happy with how theyve played 😂😂😂😂
So true Kev! We always think we are capable of playing better 😂
Chin up big man we all go through it some of us still are. The weather this winter hasn’t helped us. A bit of sunshine abroad will kick start you off
Thanks Tony! I think the negative aspect will kick start more positive things and it’s the kick in the right direction!
I never knew you had hair under your hat! 😂 Best wishes from a new subscriber
Thanks 😂 I’m doing ok in the hair department for my age 😂 welcome to the channel!
Great vlog Lester, sometimes you have to be a little hard on yourself to realise how important your goals are, keep up the great work
Cheers John! Absolutely that was the reason for the video.
Listen if people just see the positive they'll assume it's easy or even worse feel they're putting all the graft in to improve and think they can't or aren't good enough 🤷♂️ let's be honest golf is solid I have lost the plot in the last 2 years , yips are back on the tee 😂😂😂 but still grinding away . You get out what you put in ....... You've give yourself a talking too... End of go again 👍
Exactly Kev! If and when we reach our target it makes it all the sweeter as they say!
Evening Bro, you cant please all of the people all of the time, but your attitude and understanding of the game and being an endearing person is very good, Im an ex Pro sportsman so i understand the pros/cons and the objectivity of opinions and results, you keep at it mate, best regards Fraser
Cheers Fraser! Thanks mate. The vlog has already motivated me in the ways I wanted!
I really enjoyed it. It showed golf as it was the good and not so good. I wouldn’t apologise if you don’t feel happy then I like the fact that you wear heart on your sleeve and I completely understand how you feel. Players like myself who are nowhere near your level feel dissapointed so why shouldn’t you. Short game is just a confidence thing and takes time to get it back to where you want it. As stop gap I’d try and play low running pitch shots as they give bigger margins for error till you get more opportunity to work on your chipping. Stay strong keep on going Lester
Thanks Richard! Again the vlog is motivation for me to sort it out and get back on track!
There is always positive and negatives in life and golf. You be yourself and keep moving forward. PS you need to go back and watch the video you did with Paul H in chipping you made nice strides with that in the past
It’s funny you mention that Scot as I’ve just rewatched the video today 😂
These keyboard cowards always have the on/off switch, there’s nothing to be gained by abusing someone’s honesty. Sod ‘em and keep going Bernie.
It’s good to clear things up and no issues explaining things Michael. Thanks for your support!
👍
Thanks for watching Garry!
I have had some of your struggles and found my own strategy that has helped. Care-less. I am a 5 handicapper. You are right, you do put yourself under immense pressure. I now whistle - bring me sunshine - just to keep a smile on my face between shots. Just a thought. Nice ramble though. Maybe we get to play The Belfry past the 10th sometime
Thanks Tony. I still love golf and whether I play well or badly it doesn’t matter to my mood. It just frustrates me at times as I feel I’m capable of better, like we all do 😂 one day we will get passed the 10th!
There's no need to apologise Bernie you keep it real and I for one appreciate that.👍
Thanks my friend! Will always keep it real and honest as possible!
Enjoy France Lester. With you on your journey and enjoy your content
Cheers Keith! Hope for some decent weather!
Last time I checked they don't put golf holes out on the fairway or in bunkers. Why would you not spend the biggest amount of time on and around the green? Was my favorite just because it didn't cost any money and you could be there all day if wanted to. You're going to make it to scratch man.
So true Mark! We all tend to practice what we are good at and enjoy which is wrong!
Bernie, you play so well; even on winter greens; a little rustic. If I could play like you I would be over the moon. You should slow down your game and stay relaxed, if you can. Simple to say but !!
I’ve had a couple of comments about slowing down John. The vlogs are choppy so I take a lot longer over shots then what it appears as cut the boring bits out.
Enjoyable videos - very honest. If you get to scratch what will this mean to you? Will you turn professional once more? Will it be just personal satisfaction?
Literally personal satisfaction David. No plans to turn pro at this stage.
There are always some negative comments. Do not change. It’s your journey, which you kindly share with us.
Thanks Andrew. I just wanted to show the good and the bad stuff along the way. I just didn’t want subscribers to be put off by the bad stuff as that was never my intention.
Evening mate
Evening Kev!
I think the PXG links are good .Now they have gone value .And Ping have gone crazy expensive .
I do like my driver!
See you next week in france
Looking forward to it Owen!
keep going mate
I will do Roger! I promise.
Can always count on you to be brutally honest mate. It's definitely confidence with the chipping, just had 3 day's in and around Southport. My son's short game can be magical. While on the chpping area before the round he duffed one. During the round it must have cost him 6 shots. Definitely a confidence thing.
Absolutely Phil! Confidence is key in golf!
Be you brother, the others can go kick rocks 😂
Thanks mare!
Lester no apologies for the previous vlog, those who have played at a good standard know how difficult it can be to maintain it, it doesn’t help with the ground conditions we have experienced in the West Country this winter. Quality practice will get you there in the future. Look forward to seeing you soon down at Cherston, l am practicing myself but even our driving range has been closed due to it being so wet the balls were plugging and couldn’t be collected.
I guess I need to manage expectations a little Robert. I think it’s a bit to do with the fact that I was really playing well at the end of last year.
@@berniebarnesgolf l fully understand l got down to 3 last year but an injury stopped me playing for a time and when l started playing again l couldn’t hit the side of a barn door and ended the year at 4.4, for someone of my age that’s ok but l expect more of myself. Take care of yourself and enjoy your trip to France. If you ever get a chance play Champ de Batallie golf club it’s a beautiful golf course and a good test.
I’ll look that course up!
Great video Bernie. I think everyone would rather you were open about your game rather than all the secret squirrel UA-camrs. Practice makes perfect so get practicing that short game
Thanks Andrew! I will always show everything whether good or bad. It will always be real on the channel I can promise you that!
Say what you feel Bernie your not a robot there’s some sad people out there who just expect content what they want 👍
Thanks Peter, always wanted my content to be reflective of golf whether good or bad.
Hey bud, been a fan of you and Dan for a long time now, currently I’m on a similar journey to yourself and your right, embrace the challenge and overcome through effort. As far as putting goes, sometimes going to more forgiving equipment is not always the answer, I went back to pure fundamentals by using a pure blade and honing my skills with that. Build a strong set up, refine your path through the ball and get your feels back, it improved my pace of putt, starting on my lines and most important rebuilt my trust. Maybe give that a try, go get em buddy.
It’s funny you should say that Dave, I have in the past taken out and played with my Nike VR full bladed irons to try and improve my ball striking! I like your idea of the putting too! I’ll grab an old blade out and give that a go! Thanks.
