I'd just like to say, thanks for bringing Sub70 to my attention. Recently picked up a set of their 699 pro irons and for me they are hands down the best irons I've ever played.
Interesting as usual - I find the gap between my longest iron (5) and 3 wood the problem area - never totally settled on what should be there, so always interesting to see what others do, particularly re 5 wood rather than 3.
I’ve had a PXG 7 wood, but recently picked up the Mizuno. One thing I’ve found interesting about the PXG is their standard grip which has the best feel to it of any grip I’ve played like ever.
Bernie just like you binned my Callaway Maverick Max 3 wood and also purchased the Ping G430 Max 5 wood. Best thing I have done as I hit it nearly as far as the 3 wood but with much more ease and reliability which has given me so much more confidence and helping no end. With your bag Bernie its going to be Sctach Golf for you this year.
Always enjoy a WITB!! Yeah we all know that will not be the last one this year. 😊 That golf bag rain cover is pretty sweet! I remember in high school when I got Ping Hoofer bag I thought I had hit the jackpot! Hope the putter starts cooperating soon!

I don’t know Walter, it was in my sub70 wedges and I removed them and put them in the vokeys. I would guess they were over £100 as they are hand crafted.
I play in South Florida, and can’t play with a leather golf glove, way too sweaty. So I play a FingerTen all weather glove and love them. They last 5 times longer and better grip .
No hang up on the choice of putter needed. Whatever gets the ball in the hole. I have two putter both from before you started golf I suspect. If it works it works!!! Love the hood idea!!!
What did you mean by 'you might be carrying a 3 wood when a 5 wood is a better option'? That the 3wd might be too close to your driver and not provide enough of a gap?
Unless you are generating quick swing speeds most will carry a 5 wood as far if not further then there 3 wood Jason. Had several fittings with members where they don’t need a 3 wood.

I didn't know Ping made a waterproof bag. Thankfully for me I don't have to play in such wet weather as you do. 🙂

Think they are imported from the US, they were in my Sub70 wedges which I pulled them from.

I just find a lot of the weather grips a bit thick Greg. I will look into those grips though.
