Can you please do a sit down video explaining everything about london like who are you with and how it feels studying abroad and everything. Love youu ❤️❤️❤️
hey i live in london and i have some advice that i think will help!! waitrose is very expensive so i recommend tesco or sainsburys. black cabs are very expensive also public transport is extremely useful and great apps that i swear by for travelling is national rail and citymapper! also there is a very specific etiquette for travel in london and how you act in public so i hope you get used to that!! people can seem mean and rude but just how we are im guessing kinda similar to new york not sure? people may not treat you the same if you come across as a tourist so i agree with you about trying to fit in in public xx i hope you have a great time it is honestly one of the greatest cities and definitely try and do some travelling around some of europe if you can xx
Some very useful tips Issy. We would add travelling by tube is safe and affordable. You can use your contactless feature on your debit card to pay for your travel (so need to have an Oyster card) and daily travel can be capped at £7.50, so once you've made journeys to that value the rest of your days travel is for FREE on tubes and bus journeys.
I live in London and you guys should try and visit the London market Camden. It's have different activities there and lots of different foods and you can shop till you drop.
Word of advice, don't get a black cab while in london, its hella expensive. You're better off using UBER. and before people grill me saying "you don't know what your talking about" - i've been living in london for 18 years, (I'm 20 now) and black cabs get hella expensive especially in Central London. Either use public transport or use uber. It's alot cheaper.
Hana same in New York City! The yellow taxis (or green depending on the borough) are always more expensive. It’s cheaper to use an Uber or get a regular taxi from a taxi service.
It’s the same in any city in the UK that has black cabs... Black cabs are still good though, drivers are super knowledgeable about the best routes to take and they can use bus lanes etc. If you use uber a lot it can become annoying after a while because sometimes the automatic route system doesn’t work the best and the drivers don’t know what they’re doing. Also black cabs don’t have surges so in really busy times they can be cheaper
wow this video made my heart soar. i studied abroad in london last year and you have transported me right back!!! enjoy these days you will for sure remember them your whole life!!! and coffee shop work days were my most favorite too how does london make coffee and productivity so easy and perfect??? some of my favorites were monocle in marylebone, monmouth in seven dials, and gails all over but specifically the one near tottenham court road. cannot wait for more of these sweet reminders of my favorite memories!!!!!
i love how youre one of the youtubers who doesnt care fully what other people think and if you drink..i feel like so many youtubers try to be perfect and preach they dont do drugs and drink...which is good but honestly not realistic (the drinking part) when youre in your 20's
It's so weird to see you in a place that I know so well, to see someone I love who usually sports the american setting to be in wet and cold London! I live about an hour away, which compared to half the world away makes me feel so close to you ahh! I'm going to be in London nexon Saturday 9th Feb, gonna keep my eye out for the bouji fashionista with blonde locks haha! Hope you're enjoying the city, make sure you visit all the amazing cafe's and restaurants & just have an amazing time here in the UK! Lots of love, grace xxxx
Margot your b roll is mesmerizing, ENJOY and live in the moment during you time abroad babe! Film what you can💛 make memories and don’t worry about us, your only young once✨ love you long time😌
I'm from right outside of London (now live in Maryland) and haven't been home in a long time, this video made me so nostalgic. Thank you so much for this! We love sisters abroad!! DLAM
I was able to study abroad in 2014! it was the best experience of my life! I'm so happy you are able to go on this adventure! This will be the best time of your life that you will get to hold with you. Enjoy every moment because it goes by too quickly!
you should do a video explaining your process and what it took for you to move to london! it is a dream of mine to study abroad there, so to know your experience would be so helpful!
Wow, such a beautiful little summary of your first week! You're going to absolutely love looking back on this in the future. Thanks for including us on your journey!
Just have fun probably those three months are going to be one of the best time of your life Don’t worry with vloging we all love u and want u to life your life to the fullest be happy and no stress Ly🥰
Really don't recommend black cabs. They're really expensive and since they operate independently can really rip you off. Ubers are much more better, and literally arrive within 30 secs. Also not sure if you have one already, but get an Oyster card! Students get a discount as well, and its just much more cheaper than using your card/buying a train ticket each time. Things I recommend: Sky Garden (great views of London, is free, just need to book in advance), Ole + Steen cafe (they have several branches around London..) + Brixton. ALSO: Primrose Hill is such a nice peaceful place literally 15 mins from the centre (quite an affluent area). Tesco + Sainsburys are the common food shops people go to, Waitrose + M&S are a little more expensive (although cheaper than lets say Whole Foods). Hope I get to bump into you at some point :)
enjoy london! I think it’s really cool seeing footage of what you see, from your pov, if that makes sense? and then you could just pop in with text or clips you film in your apartment to clarify what’s going on :)
I’m going to study abroad in England next year and I’m so excited! I will live in Lancaster for 9 months next year... please share as many videos as you can on what it’s like to be a student abroad✈️
I love you so much Margot!! Can you please do a morning routine while you re there? Also where s your jacket from?? Keep up with the good work, much love from Portugal Xx
I usually never comment on videos, but this one made me miss London so much!! I used to work there as an AuPair and explored the city every weekend :) If you are taking the Tube or the Bus a lot, I would advise you to get the App "Citymapper". It's the best for traveling in London! Btw, the best park in London is Battersea Park in my opinion. If you ever get tired of the city, go there :) Love from Germany
Love your vlogs about studying abroad. I'm studying abroad in the UK as well. You should definitely see Bath, Brighton and Oxford if you haven't already
Studying abroad was the best time of my life thus far! I hope the same for you. xx. advice I will give though is as you get confident in a new town NEVER let your guard down. Try to never go out alone if you can avoid and always be aware of your surroundings...London is a safe place but you still have to be careful anywhere these days! I learned this for sure.
1st i love you! You are an amazing person! 2nd I just moved to London as well and if you ever need a party buddy I‘d love to be it! And 3rd, if you ever go to Covent Garden, go to The Roadhouse. It is a American bar and I think you will love it.
You need to check out the East End Thrift shop! it is near the brick lane markets (a couple of tube stops away,) it's the best and cheapest place to buy vintage clothes in London because all the other markets tend to sometimes be rip-offs! I can't believe youre in london!!!
margot will you please talk about being scared to leave your friends for a whole semester if that’s something you dealt with? i know studying abroad will be incredible, but the fomo of missing my best friends is gonna be crazy!!
I hope you're having a great time so strange to see you in London. Also is it bad that I can tell that you went to the V&A just from the chandelier/glass sculpture thing.
Ahhhhh awesome vlog Margot! I want to go to London to study as well! Would love to know financial tips, best places to go, how you planned this, your major, etc.

or just get a student oyster card and use buses/tube everywhere!!
especially if it sounds like you're a tourist, then the cabs take you the scenic (suspiciously long) routes
Don’t even use Uber.. the underground is the best
