I have just finished the final draft of that book, as you can see in this video. Definetly! I started studying abroad this week and I just don't like pub crawls and that stuff so I just don't go. There are always other opportunities to meet people
i think everyone should go to as many social events as possible, while making sure that you have time for rest.
Actually thought to myself on Friday: today Ruby goes to Oxford. May God protect you and help you flourish in Academia...it is clearly the environment you are happy in. Thank you for restoring my trust and enthusiasm for study-hard lifestyle.

i have been a part of this community since you were 15 i remember, ive seen you outgrowing the attachment and self worth issues you had while you were rejecyed from oxford and how you were so vocal about it, ive seen you getting to exter, lockdown periods, your book writing periods and to this time when you're at oxford as a woman ! i am so proud of you ruby how beautifully youve grown and so emotionally mature you are now! i love you so much
Years ago I watched 1950's "A Yank at Oxford" w Robert Taylor. The buildings, "quads", students wearing black robes was so dreamy. So getting to live vicariously, w you, means so much to so many of us who will never get to attend such hallowed halls. And how many great icons of history walked where you will walk Ruby. Makes me cry because I am so happy for you. You have worked so hard and waited so long for the start (or continued path) of an amazing phase in your education. ❤❤❤ Thanks for taking us along.

As a proud Dad with a daughter of similar age, I could instantly relate to the emotional feelings of pride, love and sadness radiating from your father. Took me back to my daughter's first day at uni. I happily admit to a few tears on my drive home.

Things I'd like to pass on to you as an Oxford local:
The best cafe in Oxford is Georgina's in the Covered Market. They have beautiful Greek lunches and is so lovely and quirky. Its a bit tricky to spot so when you are in the market, follow the White Rabbit :)
Furthermore, the Covered Market has Cardews tea shop, which is a treasure trove for replacing your loose leaf tea, and maybe you will find a replacement teapot!
When you need time away from the crowds and studying, take a walk down the Thames heading north to enjoy Port Meadow and the ruined Abbey featured in Pullman's The Book of Dust. To me, the Thames is the world's most inspiring river.
We love our strange little city and I hope you will too!
