Omg Ruby I am so proud of you. I’ve been a subscriber since you were rejected by Oxford the first time. You didn’t allow that to get you down and kept excelling. Now you are living like the real hermione granger and have been accepted to your hogwarts style school. God bless you Ruby and congratulations once more.
I remember that too. I was a subscriber way before that but my heart broke for her and Jade (and Holly?) when they didn't get into Oxford. I couldn't be prouder of her.
Knowing how enormously much effort you always put into your academic things I have to say you definitely deserve that fantastic room. But seeing how passionately and beautifully you turned that empty room into a cosy little home, I think that room also deserved you 💚
Good to be reminded it is OK not to take part in all SOCIAL events. Such an important piece of advice in order to remain authentic and sane :) I can totally relate.
Definetly! I started studying abroad this week and I just don't like pub crawls and that stuff so I just don't go. There are always other opportunities to meet people
Ruby, welcome to Oxford, I hope you will be so happy during your time here. Things I'd like to pass on to you as an Oxford local: The best cafe in Oxford is Georgina's in the Covered Market. They have beautiful Greek lunches and is so lovely and quirky. Its a bit tricky to spot so when you are in the market, follow the White Rabbit :) Furthermore, the Covered Market has Cardews tea shop, which is a treasure trove for replacing your loose leaf tea, and maybe you will find a replacement teapot! When you need time away from the crowds and studying, take a walk down the Thames heading north to enjoy Port Meadow and the ruined Abbey featured in Pullman's The Book of Dust. To me, the Thames is the world's most inspiring river. We love our strange little city and I hope you will too! All the best to you, Rachel
Actually thought to myself on Friday: today Ruby goes to Oxford. May God protect you and help you flourish in Academia...it is clearly the environment you are happy in. Thank you for restoring my trust and enthusiasm for study-hard lifestyle.
Ruby- the joy and pride of your parents when helping you to move in was literally beaming from the screen while watching this video. I look forward to watching your academic journey unfold 😊
i have been a part of this community since you were 15 i remember, ive seen you outgrowing the attachment and self worth issues you had while you were rejecyed from oxford and how you were so vocal about it, ive seen you getting to exter, lockdown periods, your book writing periods and to this time when you're at oxford as a woman ! i am so proud of you ruby how beautifully youve grown and so emotionally mature you are now! i love you so much
Years ago I watched 1950's "A Yank at Oxford" w Robert Taylor. The buildings, "quads", students wearing black robes was so dreamy. So getting to live vicariously, w you, means so much to so many of us who will never get to attend such hallowed halls. And how many great icons of history walked where you will walk Ruby. Makes me cry because I am so happy for you. You have worked so hard and waited so long for the start (or continued path) of an amazing phase in your education. ❤❤❤ Thanks for taking us along.
I'm so happy for you! I am a severely mentally disabled girl so I'm very dependent on my parents. You are living my dream, and I'm so very proud to see you accomplish so much!❤
Thank you for letting introverted people know that it's ok to skip some social events. I can imagine it is especially true for first-year college students but also people who just started their first job out of college!
I got a little bit emotional seeing you on campus with your father. Oxford seems like a magical place and I am very glad you are going to be able to flourish in such an amazing academic environment. All the best Ruby!!
As a proud Dad with a daughter of similar age, I could instantly relate to the emotional feelings of pride, love and sadness radiating from your father. Took me back to my daughter's first day at uni. I happily admit to a few tears on my drive home.
My son spent a summer there while in high school in the US and loved it so much that he returned, in 2012, for his junior year abroad at Keble College. I visited him there and fell in love with the place. It is magical. I've returned without him a few times since. I share your excitement and your parents' pride.
I've been watching your channel ever since you were in school and was going to apply for Oxford the first time. I think maybe that wasn't just your right time but now the right that has come and you are finally in Oxford. That's pretty amazing. This is why you should never give up on your dreams, even when rejected. Can't wait for more Oxford vlogs!
Omg Ruby! I’m so incredibly proud of you!!! You’re honestly living my academic dream, I’m autistic and I’ve always really struggled in mainstream/‘normal’ education so it’s never really worked out so far but seeing you live this incredible life makes me so happy and really inspires me to keep trying x
I came back to UA-cam after a long time and am watching all of your new videos now, but I can't even explain how happy I am for you. I still remember about when you didn't get into Oxford but now you are there for you masters 💗💗.
Hey Ruby, I´ve been silently following your videos since the early beginnings, but today was the day I just had to leave a comment. Having witnessed your journey regarding Oxford and dealing with rejections/failures in life it is more than exciting to see you finally getting where you always aspired (and are truely meant) to be. Having finished my own studies for a couple of years now I feel a great nostalgia watching your videos. Especially with this one I just wish I could relive my university years once more and also enjoy them more than I initially did. Studying itself can come with a lot of pressure (the pressure put upon us + the pressure we put upon ourselves) and all the duties apart from it (making a living, keeping a household) just add up to it. In retrospective one of the things I regret the most is the pressure I put on myself to do everything 100% and (naturally) failing with it. Therefore I hope that you can enjoy your time in Oxford as much as you can and deserve. You worked so hard to get where you am right now and that is something nobody and no future failure can take from you. Sending you all the dearest wishes from Germany, Carlotta
How absolutely wonderful, Ruby! Thanks for taking us along! 🤩You need no stranger on the internet telling you this - but please enjoy every second and don't put yourself under too much pressure! You are more than enough! 💛🌻
I was so excited and impressed to see you put up a new vlog so soon. I told my husband, “Ruby’s starting Oxford! I have to watch this.” 😊 Best of luck and enjoy the ride. We’re all rooting for you.
I mean I can see through the screen your hapiness and also your dad almost made me cry. He looked so proud and emotional. I feel like your parents are the best and you're so lucky to have them!
I am, again - absolutely mesmerised by how long of an incredible journey you have had throughout those years. Extremely proud of you for following your dreams, doing what you love and not stepping off that path. Truly amazing and inspirational. You help me throughot my days at university, you motivate me and make me smile
This week I have found myself thinking, "Ruby is starting in Oxford!". Well done Ruby, not only have you moved in, but you have unpacked, filmed, and edited a video. Good luck, you are going to do amazing!!
Hi Ruby! I'm so excited to watch your journey at Oxford. I just rediscovered you, after watching your videos during my undergrad program, and it's so exciting to watch you study for your Master's at the same time I start mine. I wanted to say thank you for validating the importance of taking time for yourself as well. I wish someone had validated that for me when I started, it can be hard to balance socializing and finding time for myself. It's so important to take quiet time and just allow yourself to reflect on the new experiences. 💜
Your dad being so emotional was so beautiful. I've been subscribed before you had your Oxford rejection video all those years ago. I'm so proud of you and it's amazing to see you achieve this massive dream. Congratulations again 🎉
I think I speak for everyone when I say that this is such a full circle moment!! Have been here since well before you went to uni, and I’m so happy you’re finally at your dream school
This video popped up on my recommended even though I don't study HOWEVER, I absolutely love your videos. I love how you edit, the music, the way you speak, I just love everything about your videos. A new subscriber :)
i'm a silent subscriber, but you were one of the first UA-camrs I followed; I've been here since your Hermoine inspiration videos. I'm incredibly proud of you and grateful for the inspiration and comfort you've given us a glimpse of your life. ahh I'm just so proud of you
Omg Ruby!! Your dad is soo proud, as are we. You've done really great and am sure will continue to do so!! This is giving me Rory Gilmore going off to Yale and my own journey towards my Masters. Sorry but I have to go cry now!! Too emotional!! All the very very best!! Rooting for you :)
This is amazing, Ruby! Im so proud of you. Having a master's degree from Oxford will be such a great addition to your resume, and hopefully you will enjoy the program too.
Ruby, I am so SO proud of you and I am looking forward to seeing how it all turns out for you. No doubt, you will get TOP marks. Congratulations dear Ruby ❤🎉😊
I completely agree with what Ruby said about socialising when being an introvert and want to say to anyone who needs to hear it: if you end up sharing with extroverted people, it's okay to not go on nights out with them if it fills you with dread! It's okay to enjoy your time at home. Suggest a movie night if you want to still be social in a way that's comfortable to you! Or, if you're able to, go out for dinner (or have dinner together in the kitchen!). I'm not a 'going out' person, and my flatmates have invited me to pool a couple of times, but I don't go because I'm usually winding down for bed at 9pm and not getting ready to go out - and that's okay! I'm an early bird in a flat full of night owls, haha. ALSO, don't feel like if you don't get on or 'click' with your flatmates (but they click with each other), that there is something wrong with you or you've missed your chance at meeting your people! It's SO easy to feel this way even though it's just a tiny, tiny selection of people. There will be book clubs, study clubs or sessions, and you'll also meet others doing the same course as you. Be authentically you, and if you make friends, great! And if not, you've just not met the right people yet - know that there will be many people here, including myself, who are cheering you on. ❤
Your room is so bright and modern. I was expecting something old fashioned, like our dorm rooms in New England, and more Dark Academia vibes! At least it has excellent lighting for studying, both day and night! I am also an introvert, but I went to a lot of socials in my first month and it made me feel more comfortable living away from home, seeing familiar faces in classes, walking around campus and in the dining hall. It took the edge off any anxiety I had and allowed to me decide where I did or didn't want to get involved, what clubs and groups to join up in and found my footing. Don't spend all your time in your solitary dorm room! You aren't even there for a year! Good luck on your Masters!
My sentiments exactly. Meeting people can make the experience as much as the Academic side and the learning environment and not all people are ok about others not joining in and it can appear rude. she would then face the problem of nobody engaging with her at all. What if she has to do work with others? that will be problematic to the group dynamic if she hasn't met her fellow students and socialised. I am doing a Degree with the OU and contact with other Students and Tutors will make it feel less lonely so she is in a fortunate position of having others around her to share knowledge with.
I'm experiencing this peculiar sensation, almost like my favorite youtuber has just become my neighbor. Witnessing Ruby strolling along the familiar streets fills me with excitement. I have no doubt that you'll relish your time at the university and within city😊
I am genuinely excited about this journey for you. This video was so cozy. It’s like I’m watching your adventure at your new college and your making a home out of your new room and “oh no! I forgot my tea pot! How shall I ever live a day without it?” It’s all part of the adventure. Loved it. I am happy for you Ruby. Your videos inspire me. And you have such a beautiful family. You deserve all of these beautiful moments life is offering to you. And thank you for sharing those moments with us.
This clip randomly appeared on my feed and I am so happy that I watched it. It was lovely to see your first day (and next morning) in Oxford. Wishing you all the best with you studies and student life in Oxford. It truly is a beautiful city.
Ruby sweetheart enjoy your unini days there's nothing like it. You'll make friends and remember these days all of your life. I'm so excited for you! thanks for sharing.
Firstly, how nice is your room! It makes me happy seeing you explore your new surroundings and be excited to start your semester. I am going through a rough patch in my life right now where I am so thankful and emotional whenever I feel okay and whenever my mind is a bit more relaxed, a bit joyous. Even for a few minutes. And seeing your video and experiencing your excitement with you did that for me. It calmed me down, made me feel a bit more at ease. So I guess what I am intending to say is that your videos and your channel are a happy place and I am sure that I am not the only one who is feeling down right now and who’s mood you have lifted. So thank you and all the best for your new chapter in life!
You deserve every bit of your achievements, Ruby! Going to enjoy this vlog for sure. 🥰 I am currently pursuing my master's in my dream university, life is going well, thank you as well for being a part of my academic journey. Your vlogs are so comforting and cozy, how can I live without them?
This is so heartwarming and exciting to see! You're like a sister/friend to many of us and I'm happy to see you thriving at your dream university. Good luck! 💖 Your parents are so precious too.
I think I read way too many da themed books because my brain is subconsciously expecting a mystery to unfold simply watching this video but, on a more serious note, this whole video is simply so inspirational. The atmosphere so soothing. Good luck on your Oxford journey, Ruby.
Im about ready to go back and finish my Professional Creative Writing Masters. Thank you Ruby for sharing your journey its been so heartwarming to see you progress from oxford rejection to moving in on your first term!
Best of luck Ruby. Most of us will never get to see or experience this so thanks for bringing us along. Never seen your Dad before. He seems like a really lovely person. Enjoy. 💕
best of luck Ruby!! I don't know anyone that deserves this more than you, not only will you thrive in this environment, but I know that there will be many others out there who watch your videos and will be inspired to follow in your footsteps to Oxford. You are amazing, I've been a fan for a very long time and I wish you all the best 💕
I've been a subscriber for since your Exeter years and I'm headed to London this year for the first time (I'm from abroad). So you best believe that I'll be binging your Oxford content THIS year to emulate the vibes that I'm about to go through. Kudos Ruby! ❤
Congratulations Ruby! this is all full circle moment and I'm so proud of you. We're all so happy & excited for you getting into your dream school and never giving up. Wishing you all the best on this new academic journey. Your dad is so immensely proud of you, it made me emotional. I feel like a big cousin watching her little cousin living out her childhood dreams ❤
Welcome to Oxford, Ruby! I'm happy for you getting such a nice room and already feeling settled in at Jesus. Michaelmas is a really exciting term and Oxford is so lovely in the fall, I'm sure you're going to have a wonderful time!
Ah here you are …🥰 like others I’ve been thinking about you arriving on your first day and wondering how you are doing. Such a beautiful place and so full of potential. Yes, be true to who you are and make sure you’re comfortable so you preserve your energy. Serves as a reminder for those of us who are the same. The tension of wanting to join in but knowing it’s not always the best choice is quite unpleasant and hard to resist but it’s important to know what we need 🤗 Really hoping your having a a lovely week and that you will feel settled in soon - sending much love ❤️
I clicked on the video with fingers shaking with excitement 🙈 🙈 I’ve been following you since u were in second year and I LoVE YOU so much ruby. I even mentioned you as my role model for a school project back then ❤ IM SO PROUD OF YOU Ruby and you inspire me so much❤❤ thank you for these vlogs
Ahhh Ruby I’ve just watched some of your older videos and now you’re in Oxford. I’m so proud of you for all you’ve achieved! You’re such an inspiration for me and you make me believe I can really achieve my academic goals. If I ever feel unmotivated or I’m having a bad day I watch one of your videos and it really encourages me to keep going! xx
I have been watching u since last 7 yrs my college time and have seen ur school to college journey which is so amazing and I'm very happy for u Ruby that u made it to Oxford!! Best of luck for ur masters 😊
Your dad ❤️ Bless him. Congratulations on being at Oxford. Congratulations on your first semester. Wishing you happy holidays and a wonderful new year! xxx
When I first subscribed your channel, I was still in middle school. You helped me so much with motivation to study. It feels crazy just how fast the time has changed and now I'm at uni and you are doing your masters. I feel so proud of you. Wish you all the best
Can't believe the rooms are so modern these days. When I was there we had medieval rooms, as in literally medieval, and some Georgian oak panelled rooms. They looked incredible but they were freezing cold and none were ensuite.
Wow, seeing Oxford for the first time, I just want to say that we're all your family and I'm from India , been watching your videos since very long. Live your dream and this is bestest period of life . Wishing you good luck my princess.
My old college!! I miss it so much, though I was in the Ship Street houses, and it looks like you're in the new building; enjoy your time so much it flies by!
As someone who's been following you for many years now, it's so exciting to be along with you on this journey - I've just started a masters in creative writing this September so it's really fun watching along and studying with you! Wishing you all the luck and joy on your academic endeavours this year Ruby! ❤
After following you for six years, seeing you enter Oxford is making me so emotional! I'm so proud of you and so happy, I wish you all the best! I hope you'll enjoy studying at Oxford! Lots of love
wow I'm genuinely tearing up, I haven't been here in a while but I remember watching so many of your videos when I was studying for my GCSEs and I'm in uni now. Look at you go! We're all so proud of you
Ruby I am genuinely so happy for you! I only found my love of learning in my (very) late twenties and graduated in 2020 at 33. In another life I would LOVE to attend Oxford! I visited this year for my birthday and was blown away with how beautiful the city it! I hope you love your time there!
I am so happy for you..... U deserve this.... U worked so hard for it.... U are literally a big inspiration for me.... I always watch your videos when I feel overwhelmed.... And they have never failed to motivate and calm me down.... Thanks a lot sis...
1. Your videos are so inspiring. I want that level of organization so bad. 2. I am so so proud and excited for you! I hope you have such a good time in uni!
¡Hola, Ruby! 💕
Hello, I just wanted to comment to say I found it compelling and really appreciated you sharing the part about not wanting to socialize sometimes or attend every event. I must say, coming from a “UA-camr” so to speak, it tells you stay true to yourself. Kudos and thanks on behalf of all introverts 😅
Congratulations Ruby!! I'm SO happy for you! Enjoy your time at Oxford and focus on your work, don't worry about the vlogs: we can wait 💙 also, your room is absolutely gorgeous!!
Ruby!!! I am so happy for you. I wish you all the best in this new experience, the campus, your room, everything looks absolutely MAGICAL!! 🪄 I can't wait to see more of your journey. I also really resonated with everything you said about introversion and it being so hard to socialize sometimes. Maintaining inner peace and nurturing where we spend our energy is so important!! There should be no guilt or shame in it. And if we take care of ourselves, we then have more energy to love and share with others. ☺✨
I know you’ve probably already seen this in the comments a million times, but I’m really proud of you for finally getting to Oxford. You got there in the end 😊
Ruby, I am so so proud of you. Loved the vlog. Loved the happiness in your Mum’s and Dad’s faces. Absolutely gem. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Thank you very much Ruby.
Proud of you Girl. You are amazing. In your video, I'm definitely gonna live the emotions and feelings and your hard work of studying your favourite course in the esteemed Oxford University with you. Your room tour is really engaging. Seeing your happy smile, I'm truly very much happy by heart, Ruby. ❤
Congratulations Ruby. Hope you have the best academic experience at Oxford. Love your room. Your parents seem so wonderful. Big hugs from Australia. ❤❤❤
Thank you for your kind words. I'm an introvert. It's not like it's hard for me to socialize or something. I just don't like it. It's really draining and overwhelming most of the time. We have this celebration today at uni for its founding anniv and a welcoming day for the start of a new semester. I wanted to go because that would be my first time attending if ever (the pandemic sucks), but I felt less excited than I was before. I kinda don't want to socialize and smile for now. My closest classmates all went to the celebration, but I didn't so it's kinda bothering me that I wasn't there to experience it. But thank you, Ruby! You made me realize that I should not beat up myself for this. Maybe I'll go someday, when I feel much better. :>
As a fellow introvert of now twilight age, I regard socialising as useful exercise......not exactly enjoyable, but good for my overall health. Too easy to avoid sometimes. Keep fighting.
I remember when you first were rejected by Oxford. You are an example of perseverance and working toward your dreams. You are a real motivation. I love your new room! It’s beautiful and looks spacious. I can understand your frustration when realising you forgot your very important teapot. 😊 I wonder if your mum could send it by post? If it’s well packed with bubble wrap and everything it should arrive well. I wish you all the best in your new academic year. ❤
Congratulations! It's so good to see your hard work paying off! What a lovely room you have - and how very proud your lovely Dad clearly is! Bless his heart! ❤
Ruby, the way that you organized your room looks so nice. Your father looked so happy about you being at Oxford. I wish you good luck in your MA Studies.
I'm so happy for you Ruby 💛 You are my inspiration. I'm on third year of psychology in Poland. When I watch your videos, you are my inspiration for studying. Not once for this 2 years I thought I want to give up. Even when was hard. I study hard just like you. I went to college when I was 23. My first major at university wasn't the right path, that's why I changed it. But now I have more motivation and it's thanks to you
Omg Ruby I am so proud of you. I’ve been a subscriber since you were rejected by Oxford the first time. You didn’t allow that to get you down and kept excelling. Aw I never knew she got rejected first time! What a sweet comment though! 🤍
I remember that too. I was a subscriber way before that but my heart broke for her and Jade (and Holly?) when they didn't get into Oxford. I couldn't be prouder of her.
You make people who don’t know you feel so proud of you! You’re at Oxford …what an achievement! You deserve to be there …enjoy every moment!

omg me too, it made me miss my dad so much!
Your dad seemed really emotional in the quad and bursting at the seams with pride. So nice
Congratulations! You are the perfect example of what can happen when someone works hard for what they want. Well done!
So true!

Definetly! I started studying abroad this week and I just don't like pub crawls and that stuff so I just don't go. There are always other opportunities to meet people

This feels so special. Finally, Oxford sees what we have seen in you all along ❤ Hope you have the BEST time, good luck!
I love how supportive both of your parents are 😊 Your enthusiasm and excitement in this vlog is contagious 😅
I am 60ys old and enjoy your videos so much. I wish you all the luck for your future and studies.
Rooting for you :)
oh my goodness Phoebe, this is so incredibly lovely! Thank you so much! And the best of luck with your application! x
Ruby, it has been so exciting following you throughout your education. Much success to you at Oxford! I look forward to your Oxford vlogs.
This is such excellent advice - thank you for sharing this x
How sweet is your dad lots of blessings on your new journey x
you are so lucky to have such loving, interested, kind parents.. I wish you the very best in your new adventure 😊🍵📚🍂🍁
I can’t believe the time has come already! Congratulations! I am so happy for you
Aww, your father sounds so gentle and soft-spoken. How lovely! So lovely to see your move-in day, thanks for including us!
Good luck! 💖
Your parents are so precious too.
Your parents must be brimming with so much pride. It's so exciting! You will learn so much and I just know it's going to be amazing
So proud and happy for you Ruby! I've been following your channel for the past 7 years and I feel elated to see this milestone.
I've been a subscriber for since your Exeter years and I'm headed to London this year for the first time (I'm from abroad). So you best believe that I'll be binging your Oxford content THIS year to emulate the vibes that I'm about to go through. Kudos Ruby! ❤

I've been watching you since 2017 and seeing how far you've come is making me sooo happy. Congratulations, Ruby!!! 💓
I clicked on the video with fingers shaking with excitement 🙈 🙈
I’ve been following you since u were in second year and I LoVE YOU so much ruby.
If I ever feel unmotivated or I’m having a bad day I watch one of your videos and it really encourages me to keep going! xx
Me too!
Your bedroom looks so cozy and autumnal! Also congratulations on making it to the big day, we're all so proud of you Ruby!
In what way does it look autumnal??
@@thenoobalmighty8790 Look at her pillowcase.
Amazing! Remember when you were crying about not getting in, now you are. Growth! And glad a dream came true!
¡Hola, Ruby! 💕
I am starting to study spanish, and i understand from your comment hola espero and muchas gracias😅
I can't wait to see more of your journey.
Best of luck Ruby! We all know you’ll be fantastic. My son started college this year and this video brought up alllll my mom feelings!
Your humility and grace is infectious!!! May all your dreams be fulfilled and more while you study at this very historic and beautiful place
@@DAH55100 Thank you! ♡
But now I have more motivation and it's thanks to you
So happy for you.The joy in your smile is infectious. I look forward to following the journey ❤
