I did the same thing! I studied in Florence, Italy last spring for a 4 month semester and absolutely adored it. It inspired me to change my academic direction and so I graduated in the fall (which I had pushed back to study abroad) and then started looking for master's programs in archaeology in Italy. I got into an excellent, world-class university in Padua, Italy and I start my master's program this fall! Thanks for all the advice and things to look forward to :)

If you've bought too many clothes and other items here you could always parcel some of them up and send them home before your leaving date. Say maybe a month to a month and a half. Use one of those vacuum bags.

This is very good advice. I'm British (living in London now). I worked in Sydney and New York, and have always felt that I did not make enough use of my time in both those cities. A journal is a good idea. I did that in India but not otherwise. The time to try things is when you are young, so do it (with the sensible provisos you mentioned). Your friends and family should want you to do that so should support you and understand your motives. You clearly have grown as a person. Keep doing what you are doing and good luck with your fashion career. I'd expect that London would be a good place to study fashion because people dress in so many styles here.

I might have came across this video too soon (I'm going to UK next year, given that it's beginning of 2024 rn). Your energy is so positive :) One of my biggest concern everywhere I go is I won't be able to make any friends lol. This video is reassuring. Saving it to rewatch later :')

I love that you stumbled across this 🫶🏼 Also, I think my playlist of my first time study abroad’s in London will help ease those feelings of anxiousness. I recorded my whole journey as I also moved across the world not knowing anyone. It’s all on my channel 🤍 goodluck!

I’m honestly mostly excited I need to start planning where I will be for college/Uni because honestly, where I am it’s hard to meet new people and most people around my school I can’t relate to and not having made proper connections is SO HARD. So for the social aspect I’m excited and I wanna go abroad atleast for one year because I want an experience like that I wanna be in a new culture. I feel like figuring it out will be a lot like traveling and figuring out the stuff, it’s honestly exciting for me mostly, that is if I’m able to even study abroad. But IMA HOPE

    • @IzzyBisges

I had a lot of regret when I went to my Master’s in London. I missed out on 2 family weddings and so many more little milestones and holidays that I took for granted. But, all this to say that you learn to appreciate more things once you decide to go back! And you grow so much as a person and become an even more well rounded version of yourself 🤍 It is painful and you do feel a lot of growth pains but something worthwhile never comes super easy 🤍

I'm applying for a homestay program for high schoolers mainly this winter. But my English is already like B2 or possibly C1. Do you think it's worth money? I hear the average English ability of the participants is usually A1. I'll be using the subsidy but it'll still be more than 4000 dollars for two weeks.

Hi, I need advice on whether I should study abroad. I’m not that big into travel but I have been considering study abroad for a while now but my only motivation is to have a cool experience. My life has been pretty dull for several years now and I want to have some sort of life changing experience. I don't have much interest in any specific European countries - I don't really know where I want to go so I think I would go to London like you because no language barrier. Do you think I should go if I can afford? I am a guy and more of an introvert as well, would it still be enjoyable for me?
Also, how did you figure out where you wanted to go for weekend trips (and how did you plan them)? I don't know Europe very well so I wouldn't know where to go.
