    Fantastic insight into wheel building and what a privilege to see my actual dynamo wheel getting built! So far, so good; I've done a 15k commute and a 70k ride on rolling terrain to test them out and am so pleased on how well they roll and I can't say I notice any extra drag from the dynamo. Paul was very easy to communicate with via email and I managed to get exactly what I was looking for - a high-spec, bomb-proof dynamo wheelset for long, multi-day adventures. Thanks for your help Paul.

    Building hand built wheels is a proper art form and Paul is a master at it. Thanks for sharing this video Velo works.

    A fascinating insight into the dark art of wheel building. I have always fancied giving this a go, but will most likely leave this task to the pros.
    With your passion for Brompton’s, do you rebuild the rear wheels when the rims are looking a bit well used? My Brompton is a 2012 model.

    Can the wheel be built in front forks or do you need a jig?

    • @veloworks9266
      @veloworks9266  Рік тому

      You always need a jig 👍 (wheel truing stand)

    I'd build myself a dynamo wheel, but only if it had an integrated rectifier, regulator with USB C outlet at the stem. Maybe embedded conductor in the fork and stem. Until then.

    Do you work out the spoke length? :)) It's an interesting bit of 3D geometry, though I've never fully worked it out. I think, in the main, it's looked up via tables, though I can see other ways of doing it.

      Hi, yes there are lots of online calculators you can use and this is the best and most accurate way to do it. Thanks for watching and commenting
