Hey, just want to say I had my first board and your advice helped a lot!
No idea if I did well, but I was invited to a ride along right after, which I feel is a good sign. Basically a post interview interview with a LT.
I was nervous as shit until I hit the chair. I still messed up a bit, but I was so much calmer in the room than I was while waiting
I really like your tip on self-recording/ assessing. Great video, thanks!
Your supervisor interview was great! Just had my first oral board interview today 🤞🏼
Thank you so much for all your videos , you're really awesome and helpfull !! Always supper interesting... good job
Thank you for your content. I made it to the background phase. But I've had a troubled passed. I tried, and you helped me along the way. Ultimately, they said no, and I'm so bummed.
Sorry to hear about the end result. Not sure about your past or how long it has been, but remember, not every department has the same standard when it comes to your past. Don't give up on your dream
@@InPursuit360 Thank you
I was going to apply to the academy in July but I broke my ankle at my current job and I’m just curious on how long I should wait until I apply now. 😕
Probably until your ankle heals lol?
Hello friend, and thank you for all the amazing videos. Is there a study guide you recommend for the written test? Do you believe that the physical is more important than the written test? Thanks for your time.
There are a lot of books out there for preparing for the written test. The key is to find out which test the agency uses and then finding a decent book, amazon of course has a ton of them. Careful though, don't overthink the written test. The written and physical are must pass, usually departments use a point system for each section of testing, I would not say one out weighs the other. The physical will keep you safer on the street. Good luck.
Will a police department hire you if you have a past dryg addiction? But no drug charges. What if your prescribed a controlled substance like methadone or suboxone. And you're otherwise a perfect candidate
They should, the best thing you can do is just be honest about everything that happened and dont lie or leave anything out.
I am going to have my poly interview in the next weeks, but I have a question when asked if I’ve ever been arrested I don’t know whether to answer yes or no because I’ve had one encounter with police where I was detained but cited and released with a pending court date in which charges were later dropped so would that mean I have been arrested or not? What would your opinion on that be?
So, did you already fill out your background packet? That incident should have been in there. The poly tester will do a pre interview, I would ask them what that would be considered. Depending on the state, the answer could go either way. In VA, most traffic offenses are not reported as criminal arrests, In GA, certain traffic offenses are reported as criminal arrests. Hope this at least gives you the idea, ask the tester or your recruiter. Good luck
What they are looking for in written exam
Hey man! Would it be at all possible for me to contact you via email or something along those lines regarding a few questions about law enforcement?

I am in the background process currently. They are asking for high school transcripts and diploma along with college. The issue is that I have is that I was homeschooled. I do have a diploma but I do not have any transcripts. Is this a disqualifying issue or is it something I can resolve with my background investigator?
