I'm soo opposite to your opinion. I detest this suit. Its corny, campy, fits terrible, the logo one the cape is unnecessary, like a cheap over-branded t-shirt. The DIAPER trunks need to go! it's goofy looking for live action! are we still in the 60's?? I'm ok with the colors, the S symbol and the contour lines, even the neck collar I'm liking as it gives it a formal look. This suit would be perfect for like a rated G disney film for your kids.

I personally really like this costume. The colors are fantastic, the trunks are back, and the cape is the right length. David looks great and conveys the essence of Superman in the suit. Most importantly, as long as this take on the character is true to the books. I could care less for the flaws of the suit.
this and Brandon Routh’s Kingdom Come suit are my favorite suit. maybe it’s the fact that i love the Kingdom Come logo. i hope eventually we get the red and black with Corenswet’s Superman
I was loweky depressed after the first look, but these set photos are insane. It's my favorite comic book movie costume ever now. I get the lines weird, but i can easily look past it. Also, i dont like collars because they make him look more authoritarian, but in this case, he doesn't look like that at all. He just looks like SUPERMAN.
I have a theory cooking about the authoritarian look but I don’t think it’ll stay by the end of the movie. Regardless, I couldn’t agree more with you! It’s nice to see Superman look like Superman again

The suit hides his physique as the fabric is too thick and it's not form fitting at ALL and there's wrinkles and creases It actually makes him LOOK like the suits padded. And that high collar makes no damn sense in terms of hiding his identity under pain clothes smh.
I'm right there with you. Love the suit. We got the trunks, the yellow shield on the cape, the colors are beautiful. Even the collar doesn't bother me anymore.
I don’t care what anyone says. This suit is amazing. I never hated it, even in the official reveal photo. It just wasn’t given a good first impression. You can see that a lot of love for Superman went into designing this suit. You have the bright blue and red color scheme, the trunks, the S logo on the back of the cape all from the classic outfit (also reminds me of the Christopher Reeve suit), the “S” logo from the Kingdom Come version, albeit with the classic red and yellow, and the lines and collar from the New 52 suit. I don’t mind the lines that much and they don’t ruin the look of the suit. Also, the trunks look almost exactly like the ones in All Star Superman, which makes sense because that’s the comic this movie is taking most of the inspiration from. Can’t wait to see how this suit looks on screen.
I swear the first reveal of the suit we got in April really didn't do this suit justice because OMG THIS IS PEAK SUPERMAN🤩🔥 I truly love how much the colours really pop on the suit and David Corenswet looks perfect as Superman and as Clark Kent (really dig the curly messy hair). Mr Terrific also looks absolutely terrific 👍 (pun intended) Rachel Brosnahan as Lois also looks amazing as Lois as she is absolutely slaying in the iconic purple 💜 Love seeing the whole Daily Planet staff together as the whole cast looks great.📸 My guess is the villain with goggles is some kind of amalgamation of Ulysses, Ultraman and reveal the character to be the DCU's version of Bizarro as a deformed clone of Superman that Lex created. Cannot wait to see Nicholas Hoult's performance as Lex Luthor and finally give us a good live action movie depiction of Lex Luthor
Not at all the best suit. Those trunks clash with the suit design. Personally I would have went with the Brandon Routh Kingdom Come suit .. switched out the black behind the S symbol and changed it to yellow and changed the black belt to yellow as well and there you have it. David Corensweat however definitely fits the part . Great job on casting overall!👍🏼
I like the costume too. If they do mention that Martha Kent made the suit for him she could say or show that Clark liked strong men bcuz he could relate to them as a child.
What not enough people are talking about though... Daviid Corenswet looks great as Superman... And they did the hair curl! I actually think he was a great casting because he is classically trained and will be able to use his body to differentiate his Clark from his Superman

I love it! The colors are so vibrant! I do like the design, feeling very All Star Superman is what I feel! It's so gorgeous this is what I need! I'm so hyped as well, love the cast and I just can't wait to see this! Makes me so happy
He looks chunky and unathletic in one picture. In another picture he looks like he is swimming in the suit. I like the actor (looks like Cavill), tall, good-looking and I know he worked out and is jacked. This suit make Superman look pedestrian... unimpressive. Looks like somebody going to a Halloween party.
I’ve seen so many people say he looks like Cavill and people fail to grasp is that both look like Superman. That’s one reason they were cast to begin with they look like the character they got hired to play.

Lois really look accurate like just came out of 90s cartoon :D even her color of dress. It was one of best thing in this movie, She doesnt look old like Cavil superman movies
It's actually a really great costume. You can see they took inspiration from every iteration of costumes thats come before. And its only baggy (slightly) during filming so David Corenswet can actually do what he has to do as Superman without having his movements restricted. They'll fix all the wrinkles and stuff in post-production. A lot of the people throwing shade on it don't understand that the costume won't actually look like that in the final cut of the film.
Its more than slightly baggy. Its the wrong size completely. There's never been any superman suit that needed to be baggy in order for the actor to move around in. Its a skintight suit. There's not much to it. Also they actually do use the final version of the suit in scenes. This is clearly not a stunt version of the suit.
My only complain is the neck line. Superman's blue suit doesn't go around his neck in the comics. It was nice to see superman's neck muscle but here that is missing.
Only speaking for myself, I am very pleased to see the red trunks back as that is what Superman is supposed to be dressed as. I understand the need or desire to change or modernize, but why change decades of design. The only thing I hope that will be changed will be the end of Superman floating around like Peter Pan. As he was originally described, Superman is supposed to run and then leap into the air because, and I think I recall, Earth's gravity is less than what was on Krypton.
It took a little bit but I’m sort of digging the new suit. I really like the vibrant colors, although not crazy about the mustard yellow. I don’t like the S style and the red and yellow together in the S looks like mustard and ketchup swirled together. His suit reminds me of NASCAR clothing or what they wear when racing sports motorcycles.🏍️ As for Lois Lane, she looks freaking fantastic!!😃 FINALLY, a Lois Lane that looks like Lois Lane! Love her in the purple.
The biggest switch from Henry's darker suit to David's brighter suit should give us a little bit of hope. My biggest worry is how they're gonna compose the new superman theme
This costume is ABSOLUTE TRASH. They should be ashamed of this costume.. Superman is a larger than life EPIC character, and this costume looks like something you buy in a costume store. I looks like it's too big for the actor and just does't fit him. There are way too many of those weird line designs going through it, the boots are too bulky, and the fabric looks raggedy. Most of all, it shows NO muscle tone. What kind of Superman shows no muscle tone? Lastly the cymbal, is not an "S". Why bother calling him Superman.. Its as if the producers put NO care in Superman should look like. Folks are so concerned with trying to make these film look so called real, but it's fantasy in live action, IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO REAL. DAMM!!!!!!! So disappointed 😥

Honestly I wasn’t sure from the reveal picture but after seeing the set photos I really love the suit. The only issue I have is the logo on the cape, I’ve never been a fan of that but otherwise I’m diggin it. Especially if it’s a kryptonian suit it would make sense to have those kind of armory lines
I think it would be a cool idea to film the Clark Kent scenes before the Superman ones. Filming for Clark could take place before Corensweat bulks up to make him look skinny.

I love it, my critique is some of the lines on the torso but other than that it’s amazing, and no doubt they will touch it up in post with the “bagginess” which I don’t mind it honestly it likes like he can breath, for I never was big on the cavill suit it just looked to rubbery

Larger than life, loose, bagginess of a plush sponge man. That's what this costume looks like. Since this suit doesn't fit David, it doesn't matter what it is anymore. You even showed how much tighter are all the rest of the costumes on any other set! Superman is suppose to show the phisique always. It's Superman, not Sponge Bob man! As Clark Kent he also looks like crap. James Gun said how much he doesn't understand Superman before. I don't expect that he will now. And see the other super peope on set, their costumes all fit, unlike Superman! I am a fan of Superman my whole life and I never seen such crap done to him....

1. Absolutely agree about the colors. The bold Crayola primary colors play well. 2. The collar is awful. The collar in Matt Reeve's Batman works. It's protective, and also feeds into his vampiric look and feel. With superman, a wide collar is best on Superman. His traps should partly show and the sides of the collar area should be the cape itself. 3. This crest is great. It's very of-the-time. However, I do not like it on the back of the cape. 4. He is correct that they will tighten/tidy up the fit of the suit in post, but this costume seems particularly baggy. 5. I'm very glad that they did not way overdo it with the big fake muscles. 6. The lines are awful. Just awful. 7. I'm personally not a fan of doing the trunks in live-action. It just seems so ridiculously goofy, but I accept that they are an iconic piece of the suit in most iterations, especially in the comics. So, okay, I'll concede the trunks as an element of the suit, but at least do them well. What is the point of the belt here running through the loops of the trunks when it is very clear that it is in no way functional whatsoever. That implies that whomever designed the costume in this world thought that red undies with useless belt loops and non-functional belt was aesthetically pleasing for some reason? Overall they got the big elements right, the colors, the crest, etc., but the smaller details, collar, belt, lines, are terrible.
To each his own, but for me that suit looks horrible. I don't know the actor, so I am not going to talk about the actors. I loved Cavill's Superman and his suits. This new guy.. I mean, I don' t know, and can't say this Superman is bad until I see the movie. BUT from what we see from these set photos.. I am not liking it. It just looks bad! The S.. not a fan at all. The Kingdom Come run was a great story, but the S fit for that one off story. I don't want that as a normal S. So not a fan. The fabric/material.. looks like a wet suit or something. Some will say "it's a set photo" but we saw set photos of Cavill's too and they look just fine. This. this is just trash.
Using the Kingdom Come emblem is NOT new or original. Brandon Routh did it first in his Superman appearance in the CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths, and it was done in every way better. In fact if you look at the last shot of him from the very end of the crossover it’s done with the vibrant yellow. This is a bad copy. Clark looks different from Superman because of his glasses and the way he carries himself. That hairdo sucks. It looks terrible, and in unnecessary. And all of this shows that neither you or Gunn actually understands the character. Neither Clark nor Superman are the real person. Superman is larger than life, Clark is toned down, and nerdy but still has the heart of a hero. The real Clark is never really seen but is the backbone of both the one in the middle pulling the strings. I have no excitement for this movie because it’s not going to be good. It’s going to be overstuffed, bloated and trying to do too much. With members of the Authority, Guy Gardner(GL), Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, ext. this was the problem with Batman v Superman. We are making the same mistakes. This is the hight of crazy. The best Superman movies are and will always be the originals with Christopher Reeve. All of the best takes on Superman are in stories where he is the only hero involved. He doesn’t need all of this other crap. He never has. That’s what is and has been needed. Gunn has already proven he is the wrong man for this job when he chose to Adapt a story that is very good but contains NO other superhero but Superman and decided to cram half the universe into it. This is going to be bad.
The only good thing about this suit is the colors and maybe the cape. Everything else is either terrible or mid at best. How anyone could have this costume anywhere near the best is mind blowing considering the fact that this looks like a Superman themed biker jacket that you can get at Target. The fit sucks, the unnecessary lines suck (they serve no purpose whatsoever just like some of the Marvel suits), the trunks and belt suck, the boots are mid, and the "S" is mid. Its unflattering to the actor's build and you can't see any of the hard work that the actor put in. It make it look like he didn't put in any work for the role at all. I feel like some of the Superman fans have been so starved for the character to be done right that they're willing to take anything as long as the suit has bright colors and trunks. I've seen better fan made costumes. This is arguably the worst Superman costume to date. Also people need to stop using the excuse that the suit is meant to be baggy for movement and they'll tighten it up in post. That Black Panther image people keep using is literally a suit that STILL FITS. The only thing that needed to be touched up was a SMALL part of his shoulder. Everything else still fits the actor's body unlike with Superman. Falcon's suit in Falcon and the Winter Soldier doesn't need to be skin tight but it still fit. Cap's suit is modeled to be like the military suits though. They aren't skin tight. Also, every other Superman suit fit fine. There's never been a Superman suit that needed to be baggy for the actors to move around in. If you need to use cgi to make a Superman suit look good, you've f*cked up.
It would seem that Zack was never a fan of Jimmy Olsen so he replace him in man of steel and killed him off in bvs . Skyler Gisondo who plays Jimmy Olsen is a ginger just like Jimmy Olsen. For whatever reason they keep race swapping redheads. Is fine that it happens sometimes but is happening too often way too often. Even in animation they race swap redheads u would think they would leave the animation alone. Maybe James Gunn will try to find more ginger actors and actress to play these dc comic book characters like Barbara Gordon. There's not a lot gingers actors and and actress in Hollywood. But since they keep race swapping redheads they don't even get the chance to play these characters on the big screen and small screen. I'm sure there are gingers out there who are trying to make it in Hollywood. But since Hollywood keep race swapping them it is very difficult to a ginger in Hollywood.

This suit is actually perfect, Superman should POP not everyone in DC is Batman. Gunn has nailed this, hopefully he doesn’t go too colourful with Batman, id even go as far as putting the DCU Batman in all black similar to the Keaton suit, just modernised. That way you have a perfect contrast and not Batman and then Superman doing his best Batman impression.
I like the colors of the suit, but it is 3 sizes too big, hides Superman's muscles and I hate the neck. The fact that Superman is saving people and doing heroic things has me excited. The trunks do look like a diaper. I showed the a picture to my daughter who asked, "Why is Superman wearing a diaper?"
The suit looks amazing. We could nitpick all day but it’s gorgeous, bright, colorful, that’s Superman. I’m really glad James Gunn is making the suit from a love of the character, instead of for all the annoying guys who don’t actually like Supes and desperately want to badassify him

My guess is the villain with goggles is some kind of amalgamation of Ulysses, Ultraman and reveal the character to be the DCU's version of Bizarro as a deformed clone of Superman that Lex created.
Cannot wait to see Nicholas Hoult's performance as Lex Luthor and finally give us a good live action movie depiction of Lex Luthor

Not at all the best suit. Those trunks clash with the suit design. Personally I would have went with the Brandon Routh Kingdom Come suit .. switched out the black behind the S symbol and changed it to yellow and changed the black belt to yellow as well and there you have it. David Corensweat however definitely fits the part . Great job on casting overall!👍🏼
I like the costume too. If they do mention that Martha Kent made the suit for him she could say or show that Clark liked strong men bcuz he could relate to them as a child.

He looks chunky and unathletic in one picture. In another picture he looks like he is swimming in the suit. I like the actor (looks like Cavill), tall, good-looking and I know he worked out and is jacked. This suit make Superman look pedestrian... unimpressive. Looks like somebody going to a Halloween party.
I’ve seen so many people say he looks like Cavill and people fail to grasp is that both look like Superman. That’s one reason they were cast to begin with they look like the character they got hired to play.

It's actually a really great costume. You can see they took inspiration from every iteration of costumes thats come before. And its only baggy (slightly) during filming so David Corenswet can actually do what he has to do as Superman without having his movements restricted. They'll fix all the wrinkles and stuff in post-production. A lot of the people throwing shade on it don't understand that the costume won't actually look like that in the final cut of the film.
Its more than slightly baggy. Its the wrong size completely. There's never been any superman suit that needed to be baggy in order for the actor to move around in. Its a skintight suit. There's not much to it. Also they actually do use the final version of the suit in scenes. This is clearly not a stunt version of the suit.

Only speaking for myself, I am very pleased to see the red trunks back as that is what Superman is supposed to be dressed as. I understand the need or desire to change or modernize, but why change decades of design. The only thing I hope that will be changed will be the end of Superman floating around like Peter Pan. As he was originally described, Superman is supposed to run and then leap into the air because, and I think I recall, Earth's gravity is less than what was on Krypton.
It took a little bit but I’m sort of digging the new suit. I really like the vibrant colors, although not crazy about the mustard yellow.
I don’t like the S style and the red and yellow together in the S looks like mustard and ketchup swirled together.
His suit reminds me of NASCAR clothing or what they wear when racing sports motorcycles.🏍️

This costume is ABSOLUTE TRASH. They should be ashamed of this costume.. Superman is a larger than life EPIC character, and this costume looks like something you buy in a costume store. I looks like it's too big for the actor and just does't fit him. There are way too many of those weird line designs going through it, the boots are too bulky, and the fabric looks raggedy. Most of all, it shows NO muscle tone. What kind of Superman shows no muscle tone? Lastly the cymbal, is not an "S". Why bother calling him Superman.. Its as if the producers put NO care in Superman should look like. Folks are so concerned with trying to make these film look so called real, but it's fantasy in live action, IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO REAL. DAMM!!!!!!! So disappointed 😥

Honestly I wasn’t sure from the reveal picture but after seeing the set photos I really love the suit. The only issue I have is the logo on the cape, I’ve never been a fan of that but otherwise I’m diggin it. Especially if it’s a kryptonian suit it would make sense to have those kind of armory lines

I think it would be a cool idea to film the Clark Kent scenes before the Superman ones. Filming for Clark could take place before Corensweat bulks up to make him look skinny.
I genuinely think the suit itself is amazing looking. I just think they didn't tailor it to Corenswet well enough. The fit is just awkward, but it is a beautiful suit

Larger than life, loose, bagginess of a plush sponge man. That's what this costume looks like. Since this suit doesn't fit David, it doesn't matter what it is anymore. You even showed how much tighter are all the rest of the costumes on any other set! Superman is suppose to show the phisique always. It's Superman, not Sponge Bob man! As Clark Kent he also looks like crap. James Gun said how much he doesn't understand Superman before. I don't expect that he will now. And see the other super peope on set, their costumes all fit, unlike Superman! I am a fan of Superman my whole life and I never seen such crap done to him....

1. Absolutely agree about the colors. The bold Crayola primary colors play well. 2. The collar is awful. The collar in Matt Reeve's Batman works. It's protective, and also feeds into his vampiric look and feel. With superman, a wide collar is best on Superman. His traps should partly show and the sides of the collar area should be the cape itself. 3. This crest is great. It's very of-the-time. However, I do not like it on the back of the cape. 4. He is correct that they will tighten/tidy up the fit of the suit in post, but this costume seems particularly baggy. 5. I'm very glad that they did not way overdo it with the big fake muscles. 6. The lines are awful. Just awful. 7. I'm personally not a fan of doing the trunks in live-action. It just seems so ridiculously goofy, but I accept that they are an iconic piece of the suit in most iterations, especially in the comics. So, okay, I'll concede the trunks as an element of the suit, but at least do them well. What is the point of the belt here running through the loops of the trunks when it is very clear that it is in no way functional whatsoever. That implies that whomever designed the costume in this world thought that red undies with useless belt loops and non-functional belt was aesthetically pleasing for some reason? Overall they got the big elements right, the colors, the crest, etc., but the smaller details, collar, belt, lines, are terrible.

To each his own, but for me that suit looks horrible. I don't know the actor, so I am not going to talk about the actors. I loved Cavill's Superman and his suits. This new guy.. I mean, I don' t know, and can't say this Superman is bad until I see the movie. BUT from what we see from these set photos.. I am not liking it. It just looks bad!
The S.. not a fan at all. The Kingdom Come run was a great story, but the S fit for that one off story. I don't want that as a normal S. So not a fan. The fabric/material.. looks like a wet suit or something. Looks rubbery and cheap to be honest. The lines.. it worked in New 52 because that was armor, this.. just.. ugh. No thanks. The colors.. I mean, I prefer a little darker book and darker red. But ok.. the colors I can live with. The trunks.. oh good lord.. the trunks. That shit looks BAD!.
Look at it this way, if I saw Cavill's Superman in real life, I would be in sheer awe. If I saw this new guy.. or hell.. even Reeve or Cain or Routh.. in their cheap suits and trunks, I would crack up laughing at them.

Using the Kingdom Come emblem is NOT new or original. Brandon Routh did it first in his Superman appearance in the CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths, and it was done in every way better. In fact if you look at the last shot of him from the very end of the crossover it’s done with the vibrant yellow. This is a bad copy. Clark looks different from Superman because of his glasses and the way he carries himself. That hairdo sucks. It looks terrible, and in unnecessary. And all of this shows that neither you or Gunn actually understands the character. Neither Clark nor Superman are the real person. Superman is larger than life, Clark is toned down, and nerdy but still has the heart of a hero. The real Clark is never really seen but is the backbone of both the one in the middle pulling the strings. I have no excitement for this movie because it’s not going to be good. It’s going to be overstuffed, bloated and trying to do too much. With members of the Authority, Guy Gardner(GL), Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, ext. this was the problem with Batman v Superman. We are making the same mistakes. This is the hight of crazy. The best Superman movies are and will always be the originals with Christopher Reeve. All of the best takes on Superman are in stories where he is the only hero involved. He doesn’t need all of this other crap. He never has. That’s what is and has been needed. Gunn has already proven he is the wrong man for this job when he chose to Adapt a story that is very good but contains NO other superhero but Superman and decided to cram half the universe into it. This is going to be bad.

The only good thing about this suit is the colors and maybe the cape. Everything else is either terrible or mid at best. How anyone could have this costume anywhere near the best is mind blowing considering the fact that this looks like a Superman themed biker jacket that you can get at Target. The fit sucks, the unnecessary lines suck (they serve no purpose whatsoever just like some of the Marvel suits), the trunks and belt suck, the boots are mid, and the "S" is mid. Its unflattering to the actor's build and you can't see any of the hard work that the actor put in. It make it look like he didn't put in any work for the role at all. I feel like some of the Superman fans have been so starved for the character to be done right that they're willing to take anything as long as the suit has bright colors and trunks. I've seen better fan made costumes. This is arguably the worst Superman costume to date.
Also people need to stop using the excuse that the suit is meant to be baggy for movement and they'll tighten it up in post. That Black Panther image people keep using is literally a suit that STILL FITS. The only thing that needed to be touched up was a SMALL part of his shoulder. Everything else still fits the actor's body unlike with Superman. Falcon's suit in Falcon and the Winter Soldier doesn't need to be skin tight but it still fit. Cap's suit is modeled to be like the military suits though. They aren't skin tight. Also, every other Superman suit fit fine. There's never been a Superman suit that needed to be baggy for the actors to move around in. If you need to use cgi to make a Superman suit look good, you've f*cked up.
It would seem that Zack was never a fan of Jimmy Olsen so he replace him in man of steel and killed him off in bvs . Skyler Gisondo who plays Jimmy Olsen is a ginger just like Jimmy Olsen. For whatever reason they keep race swapping redheads. Is fine that it happens sometimes but is happening too often way too often. Even in animation they race swap redheads u would think they would leave the animation alone. Maybe James Gunn will try to find more ginger actors and actress to play these dc comic book characters like Barbara Gordon. There's not a lot gingers actors and and actress in Hollywood. But since they keep race swapping redheads they don't even get the chance to play these characters on the big screen and small screen. I'm sure there are gingers out there who are trying to make it in Hollywood. But since Hollywood keep race swapping them it is very difficult to a ginger in Hollywood.
This new Superman outfit is garbage. Look lose, not for realistic movie. If it’s cartoon, comic book or animation this outfit look fine. They should keep the same look as Henry in Man of Steel. Realistically What kinda grown man in large red underwear and yellow belt?

No that’s a hot take this suit has texture and looks somewhat modern with an old school feel.
This suit is actually perfect, Superman should POP not everyone in DC is Batman. Gunn has nailed this, hopefully he doesn’t go too colourful with Batman, id even go as far as putting the DCU Batman in all black similar to the Keaton suit, just modernised. That way you have a perfect contrast and not Batman and then Superman doing his best Batman impression.

I like the colors of the suit, but it is 3 sizes too big, hides Superman's muscles and I hate the neck. The fact that Superman is saving people and doing heroic things has me excited. The trunks do look like a diaper. I showed the a picture to my daughter who asked, "Why is Superman wearing a diaper?"

The suit looks amazing. We could nitpick all day but it’s gorgeous, bright, colorful, that’s Superman. I’m really glad James Gunn is making the suit from a love of the character, instead of for all the annoying guys who don’t actually like Supes and desperately want to badassify him
