Spider-Man always got along with the Fantastic Four way more than the Avengers. He tried to join them shortly after losing Uncle Ben; and when Johnny sacrificed himself, he wanted Peter to take his place on the team. If Spider-Man never interacts with them, that’s the epitome of a wasted opportunity.
The biggest issue is the rights of Spiderman, since Sony owns the rights it might be more difficult to just have him involved with a lot of projects he would be great to crossover with like Fantastic Four, Moonknight, and daredevil
I recently learned that Pedro Pascal suffers from anxiety and I really hope they worked that aspect of him into reed. I don’t know much about the subject but I know a lot of people suffer from it and it would be nice for those people to have someone like reed so they can go “if Reed Richards can deal with it so can I”. In the video I saw about this Pedro was feeling anxious in an interview and Vanessa Kirby was quietly and subtly making him feel more comfortable, and that’s the kind of thing I wanna see of them as a couple and as a family. Always there for each other.
Yeah, but WHY...why haven't you read anything about the Fantastic Four? Why haven't you picked up some old comic books in the "dollar bin" of the Fantastic Four and read their stories? Why haven't you shown interest, "josies"?

Plus, most people appear to wish for that ending only as a bridge to the Avengers duology, and I'd like for the film to remain fairly isolated (besides talks of the multiverse and RDJ's Doom making a cameo)
I wish. I do. However with almost nothing truly setting up the next avengers and it being the last movie before the avengers it seems it’s definitely not gonna be stand alone

I understand & agree to an extent, but honestly fleeing to another universe to find a way to save theirs, might be the only way to survive. Like how Darwin the mutant can survive pretty much anything, except the Hulk - where his body took him somewhere else because it was the only way to survive it, when normally it'd just adapt & stay in the situation. Some encounters only have a 'retreat & plan'. It could also setup Doom as a big bad in the main MCU without making it a 'Where has he been this whole time?' problem. Since he could likely be the one escaping the dying planet Galactus is causing with the 4 giving chase. That would make it less sad or bad that they're leaving their universe to Galactus - for now - if they're worried about what a Doom could do to another universe if unchecked.
I’m confident that they’re going to do the Fantastic Four right this time. The director has said he was a big fan of the F4 growing up and whenever he talks about it he seems very passionate. The best adaptations are done by those who truly love and understand the source material. I always supported Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards even before he was officially announced. TBH I would have preferred a less known actor in the role and any of the rumored castings would have been great too (Dev Patel particularly). But Pedro Pascal is more than capable of playing a definitive Reed Richards. I always use the example of Daniel Craig as James Bond or Robert Pattinson as Batman as proof we should reserve our final judgments for when the movie comes out and we see the vision.
As much as I would have loved Dev Patel in the role, I think Pedro’s casting is a lot more interesting because we didn’t really see it coming. Pedro wasn’t on anyone’s shortlist for the role of Reed Richards. I disagree with the sentiment that Pedro’s casting is “too safe”. Sure, he’s a huge name, but no one was really campaigning or pushing for him to be cast as Mr Fantastic like Dev Patel or John Krasinski. Also, Marvel doesn’t always cast unknowns for their major characters. Scarlett Johansson was already an established actress before she became Black Widow. Same can be said for Chris Pratt as Star Lord.
I was personally hoping for John Krasinski to reprise his role, but I understand why not that version of him. But I thought he looked the role & could pull off the complex emotional spectrum needed for the character, especially giving him a more lovable feel since some think Reed is too cold.

He'll probably be good. I'm doubtful the movie will be good, but not because of casting. Just based on mcu's track record. Every project has great promises with a disappointing delivery.
One idea I would love to see explored is a series where Thing hosts poker nights and each week familiar mcu characters are introduced and banter about their week and also interact with characters they usually never would while playing cards then cut away to some action scenes of their story . A bit of light hearted fun.
If I were to go with certain actors to play F4 villains, I’d say Matthew McConaughey as Dr. Doom, Steve Buscemi as Mole Man, Cillian Murphy as Puppet Master, Brian Tyree Henry as Annihilus, Ron Perlman as Blastaar, and Weird Al Yankovic as Impossible Man.
Besides a good portrayal of the F4 and their family dynamic, another thing I hope this new adaptation gets right is the Fantastic Four rogues gallery. I like Galactus and Doctor Doom, but I don't want the franchise to have only them as main villain. After First Steps, I hope the sequels use other villains like Mole Man, Annihilus, The Frightfull Four or Puppet Master.
I really hope the end credits we see the TVA show up and have OB tell the Fantastic Four that he needs help building a ship that will survive the incursions and he'll just say "I need some assistance for this project because... the multiverse is dying" I really want OB to show up again in some way and it'll be insane if he makes an interaction with Thunderbolt Ross as it'll be a small reunion with Indiana Jones and Short Round
It would be cool if they used mole man as there first encounter with a villain (only being a minor threat), and if they did Danny devito would probably be the best cast choice
Dude you hit the nail right on the head with everything you’ve said. I’ve wanted a good Fantastic Four adaptation for so so long and it really feels like this movie will finally, finally get them right.
I think galactus as a thanos like enemy whos set up across movies will never work, simply for the fact that galactus isnt specifically targetting something, hes a being older than the universe itself, someone whos beyond concepts of good or evil, and exists to perserve actual balance, and not whatever thanos was smoking And i hope they don't make him a pure evil villain, because he isn't Calling Galactus a villain like saying Tigers are villians or something Also.. Thanos can be ended, if they do that to galactus, they have to deal with something even worse
I ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ the Fantastic Four! But not near as much as big Kev does. They're his all-time favorite. Feige has known how to do the FF right for decades, and now is finally his chance. FIRST STEPS will blow everyone away. No question.
weirdly enough i think marvel Rivals has done Reed and Sue (only 2 atm) really well, they lead into Reed being a center point figure with his brain while still caring for those around him as they try to stop the Dr. Dooms' (both of them) from ruining the timeline more then they already have, and the story of the eternal night that S1 is currently using as its focal point is a great way to show it even if it just small info bites from the character lore pages or in game interactions
I’m so glad Sue is the protag of the new movie AND she’s coming to Marvel Rivals with her being my fav member I’m really hoping she and the first family finally get some love and respect they deserve outside of the comics
Your passion for the Fantastic Four is amazing and I want this movie to be really amazing too. I’m glad the 94 movie is available on UA-cam so more people can see it as one of the best adaptations of the Fantastic Four although for sure the best adaptation is definitely the Moonscope series that was first aired on Cartoon Network. I hope this movie radiates that kind of excitement and energy. Give us the Fantastic Four movie we truly deserve! That’s what we want, from this new movie. I also am a tad cautious about this movie because of the reports that Silver Surfer will be a girl now but I hope that they still remember a lot of the original character traits. I really want this to be one of the best movies of this year. Good job with the discussion and all your puns!
I have my hopes pretty high about this one. It bums me out that the best adaptation of the Four to date was an early 2000s cartoon that was utterly sabotaged by the Cartoon Network and thus failed to really get the audience it deserved. Like seriously, if you haven’t watched World’s Greatest Heroes, give it a watch. It does really well by the Four in tone and scope.
There's this one story Sue storm never met read Richards but he still made The fantastic four but they were all killers she's the voice of reason within the team the only reason why they did not kill Doctor Doom right now it's because of Sue storm
Thinking about it, Franklin Richards might be a great way to introduce mutants to the MCU! At some point after discovering his powers, but still at that point where he is not too familiar with consequences and actions, he feels lonely in that power and performs a reverse scarlet witch, basically birthing the X-gene into existence and giving us some of the first X-men. This might also work into why some mutant powers are ridiculously powerful in comparison to others, as Franklin imbues the x gene with a bit of his peoer so he has people more like him, so while people like Blob get the short end, Iceman or Storm get these massive power boosts because of Franklin powers
Bro I get it I do, and I’m very excited for the flick. And I like the Pedro casting, but the mustache is going to be very jarring. Would rather a full beard, at least that’s somewhat on line with the comics
24:00 This theory might be close to the truth, with one added detail: When the F4 escape from the destruction of their universe, one of them might stay behind, sacrificing himself to save the others (probably Johnny or Ben). This will not only have an impact on the family dynamic in the following films but also, with Reed and his family now in the main universe, they could accept one of the heroes as new member of their team, like She Hulk or Spider Man.
Fantastic Four receiving a huge glowup with Marvel Rivals and the new film. They were never my favorite, but I always want underdog franchises to succeed. There are so few committed, strong couples in comic that can serve as role models. I hope they nail the film.
I like the idea of galactus potential winning but it wouldn’t make sense for him to follow them to a different universe, right? Doesn’t he just eat planets within the same universe?
This is so cool to watch, i've never been too into the fantastic four but starting like early last year I started really being interested in them, not yet reading comics (right now im doing a deep dive on the xmen) but I've been incredibly excited for their movie
FF have been one of my biggest blindspots in reading. I know more than casual fans, but I haven't read much of their solo stuff. If you don't mind, do you have any good runs you could recommend?
I started with Ryan North’s currently ongoing run back in 2022 before branching off into different runs of the past and honestly I think I’d start there. It’s a great re-introduction without relying on too many past stories

@@HeyItsLito I have an uncle named Reid, prolly why i got it mixed up unintentionally.
I always wonder what the connection was between inviability and the invisible constructs she creates, now it makes sense
Your channel deserves way more subscribers. Great videos!
Wow... This is so good. Never read comics like that. But you're explanation was so good, i already fall in love with these characters
I love you whole shebang!!!
Pedro the perfect Reed? Nah, you lost me there.
i dont doubt he can play the role good but reed looks nothing like pedro
@@bostonmania9597 I’m willing to give it a chance but geez, they let him keep the mustache, which is so damn lousy. Either go clean shaven or commit to the full connected beard!
@@stanfordfeynman2796 literally what I was telling my friend the other day lmao
Its so jarring. I just see Pedro Pascal in every shot of the character. I don't see Reed.
He'll probably be good. I'm doubtful the movie will be good, but not because of casting.
Just based on mcu's track record. Every project has great promises with a disappointing delivery.
Pedro Pascal as reed Richards....idk man I can't see him as mr.f but we'll see how it turns out I'm not holding my breath
Well, Reed and Sue are in Rivals, and they nailed their personalities. Excited for the movie!
Love what you said about Sue!
Good news for you, the whole Fantastic 4 get added to Marvel Rivals in january
Actually just Invisible Woman & Mr Fantastic for now, Human Torch & The Thing in the second half of Season 1 in 6-7 weeks.
One idea I would love to see explored is a series where Thing hosts poker nights and each week familiar mcu characters are introduced and banter about their week and also interact with characters they usually never would while playing cards then cut away to some action scenes of their story . A bit of light hearted fun.
The way you describe sue storm is perfect and i honestly can not see Vanessa Kirby being that
If I were to go with certain actors to play F4 villains, I’d say Matthew McConaughey as Dr. Doom, Steve Buscemi as Mole Man, Cillian Murphy as Puppet Master, Brian Tyree Henry as Annihilus, Ron Perlman as Blastaar, and Weird Al Yankovic as Impossible Man.
20:08 Honestly Ebon needs to step it up, Joseph Quinn said he has been lighting himself on fire I wish everyone was dedicated to this film 🥱
Great video. I learned a lot that I didn’t even know about the team.
I'm becoming increasingly confident that you are a Weekly Wackadadoo
Grab dat gem
Cannot wait this fantastic 4
You hyped me for this movie way too much I’m so nervously excited
I didn't even know it was Pedro Pascal in Wonder Woman 1984. The mustach really does everything
It would be cool if they used mole man as there first encounter with a villain (only being a minor threat), and if they did Danny devito would probably be the best cast choice
DA COMICBOOK KING IS BACK BABY HE NEVA MISS H.E.R.B.I.E. SWEEP
IN HERBIE WE TRUST
This was a good video, I enjoyed it. Keep doing these
Dude you hit the nail right on the head with everything you’ve said. I’ve wanted a good Fantastic Four adaptation for so so long and it really feels like this movie will finally, finally get them right.
I think galactus as a thanos like enemy whos set up across movies will never work, simply for the fact that galactus isnt specifically targetting something, hes a being older than the universe itself, someone whos beyond concepts of good or evil, and exists to perserve actual balance, and not whatever thanos was smoking
And i hope they don't make him a pure evil villain, because he isn't
Calling Galactus a villain like saying Tigers are villians or something
Also..
Thanos can be ended, if they do that to galactus, they have to deal with something even worse
Well, at least Galactus would have a motive.
Thanos was a ridiculous villain. Motives are important.
@langreeves6419 Thanos in the mcu not the the comics Thanos
@kannan07 yes...this video is about the mcu, so my posted a comment about the mcu, not the comics.
This video actually gave me hope for the fantastic 4
This and Superman is going to Knock it out of the park.
They one of my favorit superhero family of all time!!
Great video, man! All your points are spot on. Can't wait for this movie-the hype is real.
Lost the count but all valid points!
22:34 calling the ultimate nullifier just a gun is crazy
I have my hopes pretty high about this one. It bums me out that the best adaptation of the Four to date was an early 2000s cartoon that was utterly sabotaged by the Cartoon Network and thus failed to really get the audience it deserved. Like seriously, if you haven’t watched World’s Greatest Heroes, give it a watch. It does really well by the Four in tone and scope.
There's this one story Sue storm never met read Richards but he still made The fantastic four but they were all killers she's the voice of reason within the team the only reason why they did not kill Doctor Doom right now it's because of Sue storm
I‘m not sure on the mustache, it’s not exactly a vote if confidence in an actor, if he has to have the mustache.
3:12 love the cut from "the thing" to a clip from The Bear
I imagine Ben Grimm acting somewhat like Ritchie from the show
If we ever see the Future Foundation with Spidey on the team, I'll cry. Genuinely hope Spider-Man and Johnny become besties like in the comics.
What I want from this movie is the Thing to be big. He's someone who can fight the Hulk so he has to be big.
Pedro is one of the worst castings for Reed Richards
Im a HUGE FF fan. Im so excited for first steps. I need it to be GREAT! Not just good, great!
Bro I get it I do, and I’m very excited for the flick. And I like the Pedro casting, but the mustache is going to be very jarring. Would rather a full beard, at least that’s somewhat on line with the comics
The thing and beta ray bill have the best storylines imo and they both have the same mold
@@alexandrefrauches132 I hope not :(
They shouldn’t kill off one member in their debut movie
Fantastic Four receiving a huge glowup with Marvel Rivals and the new film. They were never my favorite, but I always want underdog franchises to succeed.
There are so few committed, strong couples in comic that can serve as role models. I hope they nail the film.
i really hope natasha lyonne is playing alicia masters
omar opollo being the next face of the mcu is so great because... he's hot
Marvel Rivals' interpretation of the 4 I feel like is spot on with what the mcu needs to do
I like the idea of galactus potential winning but it wouldn’t make sense for him to follow them to a different universe, right? Doesn’t he just eat planets within the same universe?
They also need one more thing
Wholesomeness
@WholeShebangYT great! Thanks
Lee/Kirby, John Byrne, Mark Waid, Johnathan Hickman and Ryan North are the defining runs imo
Johnathan Hickmen would be an amazing run then go straight to Ryan North.
Bro, with your description of Reed, you are describing a very smart autistic person (compliment)
Reed is basically autistic in all but canon and I really hope they make it official one day
@@WholeShebangYTin Fantastic Four: Season One, Reed tells Alyssa Moy that he has autism. It isn't 616 but rather an alt world modern retelling of their origin.
They need to make reed Richard’s a superhero in the most barebones sense. I know this is only in the ultimate universe and that Mr fantastic becomes VASTLY different from the main universe but reed Richard’s is a scientist first and doesn’t really care about being a super hero. I think it should apply for this iteration as well
Look at that we got 50% of the fan base right here yeah it is a shame that the fantastic four have been put down so bad like it's unfair 😭 it's even hard to get new fantastic four action figures because they're known as not popular enough anymore and I really hope that marvel rivals fantastic four is good too as well as the movie
The entire cast is awesome, but Vanessa Kirby will I think be a stand out. Love her work as an actress
