You absolutely nailed this video
If HLL had option to lock uniforms per map, for example only paratrooper uniforms on Caranten, it would be the best ww2 game ever.
It would be very useful to stop players going into Summer maps with winter uniforms and vice versa.
@@andrewjohnston9115 Agreed. Except a lot of the poor paratroopers wouldn't wear winter coats in Foy
I agree. Consistent uniforms would make a lot of sense, because there is no benefit to be able to customize the uniform that much.
Who cares
@@Bwakcmo69 Uhm, let me see, maybe those who supported game during kickstarter and early access and were promised "realistic" WW2 game.
I absolutely love this game. When you get into a good server, full of players that know what they are doing and communicate... it's so good.
When everything clicks with the squad and communication its one of the greatest gaming experiences you can have. Hopefully the future is bright. Viva HLL.
It was great now it's a zig zagging, dolphin diving, mess.
What hell let loose needs is the huge War mode from battlefield 1. The way you felt part of a huge war and story arc and the way you went from scenario to scenario was amazing.
The game mode is called Operations by the way, but I agree, that would be sick.
💯
@@brayerkh yeah that's it, I forgot the name. So awesome. On the Italian mountain, during a close match, right at the end the violins would start playing, it almost sounded like a musical steam locomotive, pushing you to victory.
"ONE MORE PUSH BOYS! THE DAY IS OURS! HUZZAH!"
LOL so awesome. BF1 is a masterpiece.
Rising Storm 2 Vietnam has something called Campaign mode. The Campaign has 100 players and you fight over various regions of Vietnam that are worth certain points even being able to retake regions. Loser is the one who has the least amount of combat power at the end of campaign which is typically 0.
That'd be awesome but I think it would take forever to complete a match
I've never played a WWII game anywhere close to as good as HLL. The maps, realism and amazing accuracy is outstanding.
Best thing about HLL is that it's a middle ground from games like Post Scriptum, and games like Battlefield, so it attracts players that are into milsim, and also people that are into the more casual, but challenging side of shooters. There are some things I wish were different, but they're mostly aesthetic things that ruin my immersion a fair bit.
Same here. Some of the more minor graphics glitches ruin some of the immersion for me.
PS and HLL are pretty samy, i would say its more a middle ground between ARMA and Post Scriptum
In a way, I miss the old node resource system where you had to put the nodes nearest to the front lines to gain more resources. Made the attack gameplay little more varied
2 many shit randoms.
Totally agree with what you say, I play on console and all I ask for is for them to sort the bugs out and give us server select before anything.
fix some of the bugs, polish it up a bit, let engineers build structures in more places, add some more content/variety/cosmetics and the game will be golden
I love playing Tank Crew.. 3 things I wish they would add in is, 1. Put a gun on top of the tank for the Spotter to use. 2 fix what the tank gets stuck on. Real tanks crush cars, knock down walls. (When hit with a shell) just show more damage. 3. Add an extra option for Tank Commander Comms so tank crews can chat together.. organize a tank attack..
HLL, CoD WaW, MoH Allied Assault and Post Scriptum.
The 4 horsemen of the peak WW2 gaming
Hell let loose really reminded me why I fell in love with multiplayer shooters. I was starting to think MP shooters weren't my thing anymore until I tried this masterpiece.
I wish the Devs would go back and redo the textures and make them 4K resolution.
One time I was playing as At, shot a tank in an angle and saw the rocket ricochet on it and it was so cool along with the Sfx for it, 10/10 love this game
The HLL is the best WWII shooter that i ever played or know about, haves imo the bet balance between "realism" and arcade; making it a great WWII hardcore shooter.
you must have missed RO2/RS
@@aschen__ Yea I missed RO2 never had a pc back then I've watched gameplay and love RS2 so I'd say its right up there with HLL
I can attest to the HLL community being good with noob's (like myself) I asked my squad lead about building nodes, my s/l stopped attacking the opposition to assist me in building nodes correctly. Solid dudes in the HLL community, an amazing game as well.
Wait a minute Terry....an 'Accessible Realistic Shooter'. An ARS? Did you just create a new Acronym that spells ARS? Add the word 'Experience' onto the end and you've got a winner there.....bloody brilliant!
Its an absolute ARS mate
The game has really good realism, is relatively easy to play, great comms and cooperation most of the time, great players mostly, not a lot of toxic behavior. Biggest problem is obstacles like a head of lettuce stopping a 76 dead in its tracks, soft hedge that I can see through, can get get shot through but can't crawl through and of course inconsistent ability to vault/scale walls and roofs, inconsistent ability to place MG. Also, minor but discouraging is cheating, not so much the few aimbots that you meet, and some players using esp - admins deal with that mostly. More than that, tactical cheating like recording garry locations swapping teams and then squashing them or engineers destroying own defenses in offensive mode. But overall this game is a blast and overall suffers much less from cheating than other shooters.
I miss the destruction because that's also realistic.
Hell Let Loose is a great game. I am bad at it but I still enjoy myself. It's such an easy game to meet people and have fun.
My one gripe is the "back-capping" dynamic of the game. You can domino a win or a loss if one side can get on the next point the moment a point is captured. I think that there really should be a 30 second to 2 minutes lock out timer where the points are locked so the losing team has some time to reassemble a coordinated defense. Taking a point before the opposing team can respond is an easily exploited gaming mechanic.
You're supposed to have a squad assigned to defense, but it's a thing in public games yes.
@@voidn833 "Supposed to" doesn't mean it always happens. I communicate all the time to my squad and all chat that our defensive garrisons are being snuffed out and that recon or some enemy squad is lurking back there and yet I only get listened to once the point is lost and we gotta fall back. I try to be proactive but only so much I can do alone or with a max of 3 guys with me.
I only can say this game is insane good.
Payed 19 € 2020 and its only getting better.
If i compare this with CoD 4 example i just can say that the team behind WORMS did a brillant job.
I really do hope so! It definitely needs a lot of polishing and TLC, but has a super solid foundation!
Totally agree to the Community-Part... I'm playing HLL comp since 2021 and made really good friends in the german Community. Friends I don't wanna miss anymore
Agree with the critique. I think artillery needs to be dropped for a dedicated 3 team mortar squad (6-7 players) , or something similar. Half the players get the mortar gun, the other half spawn with explosive ammo crates accessed to spawn ordinance rounds. You want more ammo? You can get random players to drop an explosive crate, OR set up near a munitions node for faster ammo resupply, OR the commander can drop a munitions node.
I also wish the game improved supply logistics in general. I liked nodes generating more the closer to the front line you are, but also functionality could be improved a bit either by extending their effect range and/or offering some slightly improved area benefits (maybe just merge the fuel node and repair station together? maybe if a garrison is within X of a manpower node players respawn faster, or the garrisons lockdown range is halved, or you generate an extra 10-15 supplies. Maybe if you spawn within range of a munitions node you come in with additional ammo or a +1 grenade). Basically, give players reasons to risk putting nodes up the line to see a tangible benefit.
Additionally it just would be nice for map replayability if (1) structures were a bit easier to build because while I like the idea of fortifying positions, in practice casual matches this rarely occurs with meanigful success, and (2) I would really like if we could destroy the already placed barbwire (and fix it). Destruction should be limited to a few weapons, but the ability to affect the map and wreak/reinforce positions is something I think this game could lean into a bit more.
18:29 "Space Bar to dismantle"? What? That's highly illegal.
Classic medal of honour allied assault soundtrack takes me back to clan war days lol
On console hardly anyone uses mics and they don’t work together as a squad so matches are generally just a free for all where you throw bodies at the objective until you either capture it or get pushed back
That's why these games are always far better on PC.
Love the Medal of Honor music in the background
The Medal of Honor: Allied Assault theme was a great choice for this vid m8!
No doubt!!!! It is a masterpiece already but it still has so much potential to become even bigger and better!!!!!
17:30 think, I said it a million times by now, I'd like to see the nodes reworked to generate more ressources the closer they're to the frontline (not deeper further in the map as it has been once). So if you're defending your last point they generate the full ammount in the HQ, but when you pushed back the enemy to their HQ they pruduce less or even nothing at your own HQ.
That would give them more or less value as the battle progresses and in the best case the engineers would have to keep them up with battle progression and therefor give those something to do besides placing a good stchel once in a match. And if not it balances the teams ressources out, as the winning team would run out faster while the loosing team would get a potential boost.
In case you didn't know, that's exactly how nodes worked prior to Update 10 I believe
Burningwiki did a good vid about actually having the highest producing nodes closest to HQ because thats how it would work in "reality" with most supplies coming from HQ rather than towards the front. Which is a thoughtful take on the logistics issue. Personally I'd have a adjutant to the Commander who was responsible for nodes and supplies and leave the commander to manage tactics and squad orders.
@@LegiTTxBoss nope exactly not, thats what I meant with "not deeper further into the map" - just didnt know how to summarize it fast and easy so think we missunderstood eachother.
Before U10 the nodes made a +10 ammount (i think) of every ressource, every two gridsquares away from your HQ, no matter how far the front was or how close. So a node at the HQ generates 10, the one in the middle 30... no matter who owns the point or the ones next to it.
But thats exactly what I would like to change: I want the same node(!) in the HQ generating 10 ressources at the start of the match. When the team loses and is pushed back to the HQ this node generates 30 ressorces, when the team wins and pushed the enemy back to their HQ, this node only generates +1.
Of course the numbers are just made up and would need testing to balance them out, but it would be a flecible system that would require or at least reward a bit of maintaining and adapting during the match.
@Andre Johnston: Id argue the other way around. Imagine the nodes as supply distribution, yet the longer the supplies need to get to the front the more you "loose" on the way, resulting in a longer supply line and therefore less supplies on the actuall front. So a node closer to the front would make more "sense" that more supplies would actually get to the troops.
But on the other hand "reality" is in any way a stretch in that situation - Id look for what encourages more gameplay, more teamwork and more to do for a certain role. From my last experiences the engeneer is a bit underused as his only purpose seems to be building nodes at the start and then you often loose all other buildables, like defensive structures, repair stations etc, because nobody is playing Engi anymore.
And not gonna lie, BurningWiki is a bit of a "strange guy"... not seen the vid or discarding the idea rightaway, but seeing the name already made me sceptical.
@@Liopleurodon ahhhhh gotcha yea your idea makes sense. I'd definitely prefer that system to the one currently in game/the system that used to be in game
yes it is a masterpiece 100%
there saved ya 20 minutes
Rank 197 and only level X in SL. I feel you brother...
Its the best WW2 game out there. If you get a good Squad lead and everyone communicates/works as a team its a great game!
The one thing that would make this game a complete 10 would be a destructible environment. That way the battlefield is constantly changing and evolving. Other than that, I love this game.
The only real criticism i have on HLL is the render distance for walls, i play lots of sniper especially then because of the big zoom its very common to be out there shooting at walls.
It also works in my favor because the same goes for grass but still rather see it fixed for immersion.
And one thing that id like to see is the ability to look passed the scope for the weapons that have one.
Even with these small things the game is still god tier.
Typed this halveway down the video but somewhat agree on both the Artillery duty you can bully them hard till they don't want to respawn anymore and then just go away.
But i will say that people expect you to sit there the whole game and they hit you with the "Trash Recon" when the first enemy shell hits the ground.
As for the nodes im not sure what im destroying and what it does but at least its some other gameplay loop for recon players because your behind enemy lines anyway.
Deployable mortar teams completed ?
They've gotta let tanks go thru hedge rows and through high walls. The rides could be smoother as well especially over tracks. The infantry gameplay is superb but the tanks are lacking in a few regards.
I see this a lot and people really don't realize just how unrealistic this is due to cod and bf telling them otherwise, for example the first tiger (not a medium or light tank but a tiger) to engage a Pershing tank in WW2 was completely disabled by some rubble they accidently drove over, high ending the tank and forcing the crew to bail out. there are photos of it you can find relatively easy. and this is without even mentioning the specialized hedge clippers the British and US had to put on tanks to go through hedgerows in France.... I get people want it to be easier to get around in tanks, but tanks were far more fragile than people realize in this time period when it comes to terrain, there's a reason everyone was surprised by the Germans going through the forested Ardennes region.
@@jessicamason2526 Hedge rows may be an extreme i'll admit, but there a certainly obstacles, such as certain wooden fences and posts that completely stop you in your tracks. The biggest issue i think is that there's just such inconsistencies with what you can and can't drive through it can stop the whole momentum of the team if their armor support is stuck on a wooden fence that's passable in 3 places but solid collision mesh for the other parts. In terms of realism I completely see where you're coming from and i appreciate the insight! There's definitely a solid middle ground they can meet without making it too arcade-y but also without sacrificing gameplay for realism! Thanks again for all the insight tho!!
@@blackbirdsfly ill admit there is wooden fences and the occasional branch that should be passible
I agree with everything both of you have said!
The best thing in this game are the floating icons all over the place. It helps the ww2 atmosphere to have a modern IFF HUD.
Just turn them off
Lots of snotty players in this game too. I’m still a newb yet after a couple of rounds most people leave my squad. Sure I’m not perfect but playing with people who think other people should be is frankly frustrating.
I guess you use comms?
The amount of new players not using mics is disheartening.
@@Jokai1977 of course.
Don’t let it bother you. As you continue playing, you’ll find that most squads are happy to help new players. It’s helpful to just say “hey I’m pretty new - how can I be helpful?” I did that in one of my first games, and squad lead told me that medic is a good starting role. It lets you see where downed teammates are within 100m (super helpful) and everyone will love you for reviving them. Just make sure to bandage them after, as other roles only have 2 bandages. It is always better to have a medic on the squad, but veteran players tend to play other roles, so you’ll be welcomed with open arms if you join a squad as medic and start healing people. After playing several rounds as medic, felt I had a much better understanding of how the other roles and overall game work.
@@mlc2016 thx. I’ll give that a try
You’ll encounter all kinds of people. But as long as you’re trying man. It’s really frustrating with so many new players not knowing the basics of the game like the importance of garries and communication. The amount of steam roller matches can be really disheartening to experienced players, hopefully they put some kind of balance between teams
Its easily the best game ive ever played according to my taste.
I think for it to be really great they need to spread more stuff over the roles, you got so many roles, most of which are not played and so much responsibility on them. Squad lead basically runs around all match yelling at people to switch to support or begs command for supplies to try and put down garrisons, engineers often have little to do as the supply drops are for nodes and garrisons and not actually building defenses. I think they need to either remove the support role and put the utility on other classes, make the support role more fun for new players (so that they play support instead of rifleman or assault) and they really should add a logi squad. iirc logistics were supposed to be it's own squad like recons or tanks but that just got lost so now you have to abandon your squad basically to run around in the backlines to drive trucks and get killed. Having a single dedicated logi squad who's job it is to supply the frontlines with supplies and halftracks would be nice. You could even turn troop transports into spawn points then the logis could make sure those are hidden, maybe fortify them. Or give logis new vehicles like an HQ jeep with radios you can dig in somewhere that serves as a spawn point. So that the squad leads can focus on calling in supports, coordinating their teams and dont have to run around france's fields hiding radios in bushes while their team yells at them.
Great summary and critique on the state of things. Armour must be tuned, navigating the map must be better. Artillery needs fixing/nixing. Mortars!? If we don't get the commonwealth faction soon I'll lay an egg.
Just wait until they add the pacific, it will be goated.
Once they add the 3 more factions this game will be amazing
Cant way for the sequel "Heaven Reigned In".
The past month I've started playing a lot again. I've noticed the weapon damage is diffe3rent than it used to be. The G43 has taken 2 shots to kill at under 50 meters for me multiple times and just the other day I shot a US machine gunner who was sitting still bipod'd in the face from 15 meters and he lived. Then he bandaged and popped back up so I shot him again in the face and that time he died.
HLL used to be closer to a PS/Squad, now its closer to Casual. Wish they would add a hardcore mode bring it back closer to that Alpha version.
I agree on most of these but I pray the Resources get optimized and agency isn't taken from the players to make them. Logistics are a huge component to war and in HLL they are imo the gateway to team success. Doing a job that nobody else wants to do but reaping the most reward from that, is to me, the reason why anyone can pick up this game and play it.
can not stand the thompson like you said, i use the M1 as a SL but then the bug that forces a kit upon you kicks in and you're stuck with the thompson.
as for different modes, it has been done before but there was a quake game that used mini missions that were randomized within the game, so on top of warfare, each squad could be given a random mission to do within the map, an opposing squad would be given the mission to stop the other. forcing a squad vs squad mini game within the game. whack a timer on it and whoever wins be it over fighting to completion or having one side ignore it entirely then there is resource bonuses given. something like that would be cool.
I am a new player and each of the 3 servers I joined had an ESP hacker. Kinda shocked that I couldn't view profiles through the game either so I don't even know how to report people through Steam
I adore this game, I think it looks great and feels great, and having headphones in while in massive fire fights is just the best, it’s not perfect but for an fps is as perfect as you’d get these days, I keep telling everyone I know to get it, but for a lot of people the hardcore nature of it puts them off, for me it’s what brings me back
I know it’s historically accurate and more realistic but man I wish you could be a sniper in a more modern sense, taking your time and carefully and discreetly sneaking to a OP spot and sitting there until you’re forced to leave. The whole running the entirety of the map and scoping out things is not fun for me and I’m a sniper at heart. BF4 holds my heart.
My number #1 world war 2 game glad it’s on Xbox 💙
How is it not there yet? There's literally no better WW2 shooter out right now.
HLL is an exceptional experience. It mostly nails what it sets out to do and the immersion can be unrivaled when everything is firing on all cylinders. I do wish the game ran better on console though. The lag, rubberbanding, and server disconnects are infuriating to deal with. I also wish the game had destructible environments, its a bit ridiculous to get caught on a fence or a shrub in a damn tank. It would also be nice to be able to look out of the hatch on tanks and fire your weapon at infantry sneaking up on you. Otherwise the game is near excellent as long as everyone is communicating and pulling their weight.
Well now we have the roadmap
Yeah, one of the things i don't completely like about this game is the supplies/resources and logistics system. I think Squad nailed the perfect balance in that; not only being more clear about it but integrating the whole squad into the task. And Post Scriptum simplified it, but it's also clear.
I think nodes are underutilised definitely but I dont think it'd be fair to remove them. If a team can be bothered to do the nodes as basic as they are, that team deserves the advantage they provide.
One of my friends basically only backed so he could paly the Jagdtiger...maybe one day.
I think BFV is the only battlefield without bullet deviation.
Great overview. The nooby thanks you!
Hll does not have tickets , its about map control, thats pretty unique
When u were talking about clans at 8:00 on the playstation5 servers when [7th] js online they own the servers never lose a game
Love the MOHAA music!!!
I always put HLL in the same category as insurgency sandstorm now a real hardcore shooter but somewhere in between casual and hardcore
HLL is the closest to the ideal combination of realism and arcade from the game design perspective since the inception of Counter-Strike.
If it had good ping in its servers and I didn't have to wait 10-20 minuets to enter a server with playable ping it be the best realistic ww2 shooter
I love the visuals and communication aspect of this game. It really immerses me in the game so well that I just nonstop keep going back to play more. Perhaps it needs some more kits for players to open or something else like rather than opening kits players could make their own somehow, I dunno. Great game, I have only over 200 hours in it but boy did I enjoy every hour and will enjoy every next hour played.
Bruh, the battlefield is empty
They need to hurry up the newer content before it slowly dies
Before they think about a sequel I would hope that they iron out everything and make it like an always updated game. Keep Hell Let Loose 1 to WW2, add additional European Theater maps and situations along with British and French and then the Pacific Theater and keep expanding focused on WW2. Make Hell Let Loose 2 focused on Vietnam or the Middle East Conflicts. It’s fairly new to console still. Look at the way Call of Duty fumbles around with all the different titles as a marketing scheme never really making a game perfect before moving on. Warzone 1 changed things and they could have just kept updating that considering Warzone 2 is and updated Warzone 1. Hell Let Loose is fairly new to console and the community is growing. Just wait until unreal engine 5 is the standard, Hell Let Loose will surpass COD as the most popular shooting game period.
All we can do is hope.
Future for this game is very dark sadly
Yeah this really didn't age well did it haha
Oh wow, I bought hell let loose on steam a few months back and have been having an absolute blast with it, I never realized it got bought out by Team17 recently
HLL is the masterpiece of multiplayer games imo!
Id take a HLL for most major conflicts
It's definitely a WW2 Game masterpiece but I'm not sure if it can be an overall masterpiece unless the game mode diversity gets ramped up over the next 1-2 years. The engine itself will put some unavoidable breaks on some mechanics changes I'm sure a lot of folks would like to see but, adding 2-3 new modes over the next 24mo would do wonders for ensuring growth and maximizing retention.
I would definitely put squad and hell let loose in its own class of game. U can add battle bit if u want but these games are un like anything ive enjoyed in gaming. The shear fear of knowing theres an enemy is around the corner and its just down to who can shoot better hah. These games do it best.
I love this game and music from medal of honor too :)
I strongly agree with the artillery and nodes. Doesn’t add enough fun, so just remove. Portable mortar teams is probably the way.
Thanks. Good video. Not sure I agree with the "you can just jump right in and have a good time" theory. You started at the very beginning of the game so when you were new to it so was everyone else. For people like me just jumping into it an environment where there are mostly people who know the game very well.
2 things i dont like
they forgot the pak43 in the bunker on the omaha beach map
and the russian side has late war guns pals ):
I just hope team 17 doesn't drop a bollock on this
I do hope it works out, because people have very different morals and viewpoints, so I hope team17 doesn't drop the ball, because I hear so many horror stories when new teams take over.
NO SEQUEL UNTIL WE GET THE PACIFIC!!! The US Marines and Australians should get at least 2 maps each
and the last couple of months have been a damn tragedy
It is.
Man all I can say is Team17 have their work cut out for them. There's so much to do IMO before they undo all the damage the previous devs have caused when they turned it into a chore-filled running simulator.
The size of the maps and scale is what makes it great, and tactical. It's not meant to be matchbox like CoD, and also thankfully isn't Battlefield either. Those games cater for the small scale, close quarters arcade gameplay.
I'm scared of them changing the sprint functions and adding new movement. This isn't cod or battlefield
It’s an amazing game! Wish they would fix the bugs on the game tho
Short and simple answer: Yes!
HLL is absolutely a masterpiece. Excited to see what Black Matter does next
How about some hair for all these bald soldiers?
I think they should allow players to be any class considering the size of the maps. Most importantly, alot of wrong players in the wrong class
They'll never remove nodes when they're tied into trophies/achievements
I already think it's the best shooter, especially for console.
Every other game is TKers and saboteur commanders. They need private servers so badly bc you're right it's a great game when ppl actually play it correctly
Masterpiece????? Nope! My first 10 hour exp:
- Brutal braindead Garry and OP camping for spawn kill.... The spawn mechanic is much much better in PS.
- Brutal "general" camping fiesta. Not in cap area, random in map.
- Random game alone: Closed squads, they don't let me in. I can only join groups with a few people, where officer doesn't communicate, he doesn't do his job. I'm trying, but the casual player doesn't communicate. In random game the team play is dead!
- Anti-aliasing is disgusting. Ultra settings RTX 2070.
- The regular climb completely unoptimized. I get stuck on every little thing, it's very difficult to climb over smaller objects. (The space bar spam or hold often does not help).
Ye, ye 10 hour holly molly, skill issue...... What can I learn ? Where is the perfect camping spot...........
Many many "200 IQ" camper, somehow aim control is the weakness of many of them.
"Tatical mil sim......" Translate this: Spawn camper fiesta.....
Would be a masterpiece if they would provide a fuuuuuuuu tutorial, or just a video embedded to the game, so new players have BASIC concepts, such as how to build garrisons
