Same. I spent thousands of hours on War Thunder, and now when I think about playing it I just feel… tired. I had SO MUCH fun, but it was scattered between so much slog. Not “This makes the fun more rewarding by comparison” slow periods, just a deluge of reasons to play something else. I miss the fun. I had good times. I got banned in WarThunder when i stopped playing for two years and a hacker sneakily stole my account. I was a "whale" player so i had everything premium and all event planes and some tanks... I showed proof to Gaijin beyond reason that it was not me. They sent an email saying "thats too bad, please feel free to make a new account using your old email and information, but we wiped the account and cannot restore it" I contacted my bank within 4 weeks of back and forth and charged back every penny i spent on WarThunder.
@rogoznicafc9672 seems the comments on my comment got deleted or shadow deleted by UA-cam. I got my money back, bank was a good sport about it and gave me back everything, they also put a strike against Gaijin so I know Chase as a bank trusts them as a seller slightly less every strike they get.
Wow, that would suck. I been playing WT since 2013. If that happened to me I would never play again. That's what happened to me on WoW. I was a Beta tester and played daily for 8 years. Then I got hacked and they told me the same thing. Never played again.
it took them a massive review bomb to even make basic changes to warthunder that people have been asking for since the game came out, they never change
They can make community posts saying they are "actively taking feedback and listening to the community" all they want, but they will only listen when the player base protests on a large scale😹
What really bothers me is that the first roadmap for War Thunder was actually pretty good and made the economy less grindy, now you can actually play as a F2P player and be in constant surplus of Silver Lions, plus it came with some very nice QoL changes. I was looking forward to see deep changes in the current state of the game and a brand new direction where Gaijin would finally listen to the community and tackle for one and once core issues of the game. Then the 2nd roadmap dropped and it's just miscellaneous changes and some minor QoL additions. Massive community outcry and the 2nd roadmap has not a single significant change except for a bonus for researching new nations (Which was delayed from the 1st roadmap). I have 3500 hours in this game since I started playing in 2018, almost exclusively as F2P. I stopped playing around three months ago and I can't get myself motivated to play this game anymore.
@@davidclevesguzman3397 I'm in a similar situation, about 2000 hours on record and I have been playing since the game was only planes, but now I feel a deep sense of dread just upon opening the game. Gajin has abused it's community so badly, almost every update feels like a regression to me and it has felt this way for awhile. I remember criticizing the night vision update before it had even come out as a way to increase stock grind and strongarm people into buying parts just so they can see, and I was laughed at, now they've literally all but removed it from the game because of how unpopular it was, I find this to be an excellent example of how Gajin does its updates, they don't fix things, they only add bandaids on top of problems they made for us instead of removing the problem all together, and I have gotten very sick of it.
@@davidclevesguzman3397Just here to remind y'all the volumetric shell update that screwed up the entire penetration mechanic was released about 4 years ago, still not ONE sign they even *want* to fix it
And even then they gave us HALF of what was asked for. There is nothing more upsetting than starting a roll of kills and then someone shoots out your cannon and you're done for the rest of the match because no one in War Thunder is a team player and Gaijin have NEVER encouraged team play, neither with their crappy game design or their crappy outsourced map designs. You can tell the people who are paid to make the maps dont play the game because the maps are not designed for tank warfare or aerial warfare.
You summarized it perfectly with the “its not WT” thing. When i get pissed with WT, where the fuck am i going to go? If i get pissed with enlisted, i can go play one of the other dozens of shooters in my library. Do they have what enlisted has? No, but they dont cram microtransactions down my throat
@@fusrosandvich3738 i mean, they dont have what enlisted has, enlisted has very unique gameplay that i dont think ive seen anywhere else. What i meant was “they get close enough”
No, I have played both and as bad as Enlisted is, War Thunder is worse. Enlisted has easier to grind events and tech trees. The iconic stuff can be unlocked quite fast. You don't lose money from playing. Wake up War Thunder has no competition, it wouldn't make any sense for Enlisted to be worse.
I agree, and i actually liked the "ticket" system they had (bronze/silver/gold) because it didnt require about 5+hour to get 1 gun. Not kidding when i say that before the day they uppdated the game to this... "game"... to a friend that also liked the ww2 era fps. The next day i basicly said "Dont download the game, its not the game i recomended anymore", and WTF was the conversionrates for the techtree exp and silver? I thought i got decent value when i got like 500k and couldnt even outfit 1 squad with like 5 troops in it. And as he brought up the outfits, Why In All Thats Holy, did they merge the fronts and battalions so that you could get a battalion dressed for a winter map in a temperate map (normandie i can recall on the top of my head) that makes them stick out like a neon sign at midnight? If they reverted back from the microtransactional hellscape and gave us back the fronts (I kinda like the idea of the techtree but holy F they need to increase the exp gains for it to work), reverted the battalions back to their respective fronts and improve the features it had, then maybe i feel like they can salvage it.
Wow, this video is basically the perfect way of describing any Gaijin Game. Amazing ideas and concepts held back from being a huge success because of greed. You know the worst part? The bootlickers, people defend Gaijin with tooth and nail and pour hundreds of dollars in it. As long as people like this exist, any Gaijin game will forever be a "Could have been perfect"
You know one thing though, the fact that products like Enlisted and Overwatch 2 are struggling so much does kind of give me hope. Hope that people are finally just fed up and done with micro-transaction filled crap-shoot games. There's a general trend of improvement in the industry, I feel.
I wish their games never exists. All I can think is that they can one day be completely gone and the world wouldnt have much difference. Prolly better since u dont have to deal with military docs crap.
As a monkey myself the only Gaijin game I will ever defend is War Thunder. There are some undefendable things about that game but it's so much fun and so much pain I just love it.
I’m going to keep being “that guy” until they provide a product I won’t support. This is literally what happened to hero’s and generals and that game was god tier. At the start of release the grind was fair. Now just to get a sniper rifle. You need to grind to like lvl 50 on 1 faction which is 300 hours to unlock recon. Then you need to buy the scope. Oh you want your sniper to 1 shot people in the chest. You need to spend 76k sliver and once you get it. You can’t die or miss a shot because the repair costs will fucking make you broke.
Only after watching the vid I've noticed the sub and view count. The quality definitely is here and the jokes are great. Wish you luck with the algorithm gods.
I think the only dev to ever be valid to charge money for the same game but on Steam was the Dwarf Fortress brothers because it was to cover one of their medical expenses and to make sure the game was at least different, they added graphics and new music (the game was originally in ASCII). Enlisted on the other hand, has transactions in it so it makes no sense to pay for the game on Steam. I thought it was just releasing on Steam to expand the player base but I guess I was wrong (seeing as how it’s $20 on-Steam)
Typical of a game where the company expects your to play for years and grind 1000s of hours to get a basic machine gun or something semi competent and then you have to do this for each and every soldier
Ok that’s exaggerated, yes the grind is insane but if you need 1000s of hours for a tier 2 lmg (first tier with mgs) that is a massive skill issue (seriously)
Yep… i was a Tunisia only player, i would die for that one campaign, it had the best balance between factions and its ruined now. They ruined this, i gave it another chance and like… it’s playable, until i need space in my computer for Helldivers.
Enlisted vet since 2021 here. As of july this year, the devs continue to repeat those mistakes. Even if they offer four event squad in one go, the process still remains the same and not in the good way...
Also an enlisted vet here the game was so fun on release because everyone had shitty weapons and was kinda balanced like moscow was peak and tunisia but after the space event things got worse and the zombie event was just boring it is a shame because the concept is beautifully executed but the bombing runs, premium players and horrible matchmaking just ruined it for me the grind was ok for me because I was playing with friends but the tech tree just made it worse I hope they can fix these things but It's unlikely
I'm loving enlisted right now grind is minimal lobby's are full haven't put a cent in after a week almost tier completed tier 5 on USA moving to Russia

I basically haven't touched Enlisted since I discovered Easy Red 2. Similar concept with zero grind (squads get historically accurate loadouts for each battle), zero microtransactions, the AI is much better than Enlisted's because the bots are not just meant for players to grind and pad K/D ratios, and the indie dev team actually listens to its players, constantly adding and updating requested features.
I'm a beaten war thunder player and I loved the compact campaigns formula, after the big update to combine them all even I couldn't withstand the new grind and micro-management hell that is the squad making
I’ve been playing enlisted for almost 3 years and every point you made is painfully accurate. The pre merge grind was definitely bad but post merge is almost equally bad with the shitty rewards for completing tasks like “earn 5k kills while attacking / defending only gets you 1k silver ( can’t even buy a pistol for that price)
Iv been doing the same and Iv yet to hear a point that had even the slightest bit of factual info in it. Hey guess what the uniform thing yeah you don’t have to buy those and AND guess what you get uniform orders for free for just playing the game. No one is point a gun to your head and saying buy the SS uniform in enlisted from Hugo Boss
The sad thing is that the merge could've been so simple. Just take the old system and make levels carry over betwen campaigns. And yet, they managed to mess it up...
I'm a maxed out Enlisted player. I've spent 20 bucks total into the game, buying premium time during christmas promos. I guess the excessive monetization and greed never bothered me all this time because I'm brazilian and I never really considered buying stuff like premium squads or cosmetics. It's just so massively overpriced, especially for people in 3rd world countries, that I just completely ignore it, and I guess I forgot it even goes on.
Another LATAM player here... ive never spend a single buck on this game and I almost always ended 1st or 2nd on the parties. You dont need no pay to have fun, or win. If you suck, you will suck even paying. The P2W sqads and tanks are just a pain in the ass for a while, just because the P2W players dont usually are the best at playing.
Can i play with you? I’m Brazilian and kinda new to Enlisted, but i did get 150 kills with T-50 today and won the game by myself, if you want to join me say your nickname.
@mike-alpha1942 Enlisted isn't much of a pay to win. It's worse. It's a pay to progress, just like fucking War Thunder. You grind one trillion hours or pay 60 bucks for easier grind. We Brazilians are aware of this kind of shit and we just grind the game regardless, but so help me God if they increase the grind...
I actually used to be a tester for the game and found many bugs whilest doing so. Back in july last year I discovered this tank glitch which allowed you noclip throught the map. The glitch couldve been manipulated to its fullest extent if anybody had discovered it, and if they had bad intentions. However, the development team, well aware that the glitch I found was gamebreaking, took pleasure with patting me on the back and not rewarding me in any form...
They could have done one thing, release on steam without charging anything. Making the events rewards like para squad and others only obtainable if you play through their laucher.
Well then you’re making an extremely good squad ONLY accessible on one platform… I say they refund everyone who bought the steam version, re release it free this time and maybe cosmetic exclusives? But I wouldn’t really enjoy (being a ps5 player) fighting constant paratroopers because steam gets it free then it’s unbalanced even worse than it already is.
Honestly, I downloaded Enlisted back when it had the old setup with the seperate maps (when I downloaded it, it didn't have Stalingrad and the Pacific) and THEN I downloaded War Thunder, because I wanted more tank gameplay (this was like 3 yrs ago, and I haven't purchased a single thing within the game) Nowadays I almost only play WT, the tech tree update completely ruined the economy, I had to play 26 games, 9 of which I was top 3 in the team, to unlock the B.A.R., which is ridiculous. I'm really sad about how DF / Gaijin ruined Enlisted, honestly it's the best free-to-play 1st person shooter I've played so far in terms of graphics, physics and overall athmosphere.
Gaijin is an absolute greedy dev up there with EA and Activision, WT players have stockholm syndrome because since they released that roadmap last year from the review bombing they think Gaijin has changed. I hope Enlisted players have an attention span longer than 2 minutes to realize Gaijin is still the greedy publisher here.
The fact WT players think gaijin will change is funny, especially if you known gaijin from the early alpha days. Im glad I left when I did, no matter the game they will never change.

8:34 I take offense to this. Not even a War Thunder player could stand the grind of Enlisted. At least not without paying-up. I've reached planes and tanks at 11.0 for US and Italy WITHOUT HAVING PAYED A CENT, and enlisted was too grindy for me.
I'm the exact reverse, I grinded everything in Enlisted for free, ever since the first week or so of launch I had been playing. Originally I had played War Thunder, back in 2015 I picked it up, and found the grind to be miserable once I reach 6.0 - 7.0, especially with Tanks using solid shot AP & half the pen value of it's APCPC counterpart. Likewise I found it to be painful for Air, after I grinded Japan / Germany / Britain to the 5.0 - 6.0 range it just became mind numbing. Regardless I can't justify the things Gaijin are pulling, charging $50 just to be able to fly the FW-190 D-9 in Enlisted is highway robbery when I can fly it for free in War Thunder & with only week or two of grinding from reserves. Likewise for using a Churchill III, I wouldn't spend $60 just to drive it in-game, when the exact same model of tank is available for free in War thunder yet again. Either way, the grind for both games are ridiculous, and shady tactics to get people to spend money on vehicle/gun models you already have in a different game running on the same (or close to the same) engine is just... wrong.
@@Outclassed2011War Thunder is somewhat now "managable". It feels like a free to play game (and f*ck you if you want to progress above Tier 4),but the state of the game is much better compared to a year ago (before the boycott). I remember having a premium account (very cheap on Xbox in my country during sales is basically 2500Huf/7 bucks for 3 months) and even with that i had to skip vehicles (A4B,F2H2,Tiger 2's etc) because of the insane repair price. I don't even mention "simulator" mode where i had to pay 20k sl for spawn in my F105D(i reached the bottom since) and tooked around 20-25 minutes with premium account to get back my spawn cost. And good luck staying alive. However i looked at enlisted too,but i can say War Thunder is less greedy. You want a winter camo? Get X kills with this vehicle. You want an ace crew? Get X research point and you have it for free. Okay there are some skins(i don't mention marketplace skins this time) which is only for $,but those are usually like the "Victory Day skin for the T80B" etc. What i can recall is the bushes, but an MG solves that by now. I'm not gonna lie,but i'm lucky with the platform/country when it comes to war thunder. Since i managed to get talismans for 3-4 bucks which equals a 60$ premium vehicle sometimes and yes after almost 3000 hours i still play and got almost every vehicle i wanted 😂 However in my opinion still War Thunder is in a much better state than ever before. If they implement the rest of the stuff from the roadmap then we will have a much easier grind. Only thing they need to do is not add any new vehicles to the game, but make a big update called "quality of life". Wt still got a lot of potentional even luring hardcore simulator players to the game, but gaijin doesn't have any logic tho and sadly the same greed appears in the their other games. Your editing style gives me the good vibes of the average Internet Historian video, and I love it. This is a great watch for sure, hella entertaining too. Great potential here pal🔥
Dont forget your limited to 3 infantry classes which is horrible due to starting tanks and planes being usless because all it takes is one explosion pack from a single anti tank troop to destroy your whole squad
I played enlisted religiously until the merge. I loved how i could just pick the army and theater of operations and immerse myself into semi-historical gameplay. Now its all just kinda strange, it lost some charm when the merge happened. I cant be the only one who noticed it? Anyways, i havent played the game since

Whats ironic is that after Battlefield 5 was mixed among Fans and Historians Enlisted saved the day by providing an authentic ww2 shooter Problem is the grind is so severe and the "microtransactions" are so enormous that you can buy 10 copies of battlefield 5 and you still wouldnt have a tank unlocked
4:32 - Small correction. This game HAD lootboxes. Back before the merge, the only ways to get money for weapons was to either use the Silver currency to buy them, or use the Bronze currency (which was easier and quicker to get) to get a random chance to get a weapon from lootboxes.
The game is far more enjoyable for people like me, who have been playing it for years now. After the economy rework I sat on about 700k silver and had most of the squads for Germany and US, not to mention all the event squads suchs as paras and such. If I lost all that and had to start from scratch, I'd probably never play Enlisted ever again, even tough it really is a great game.

Honestly I agree with that, they should have made it where you can turn a soldier into an engineer and not have an entire separate class for him. It's hard to keep track of them all!
What many of us said would happen is happening. And the funniest thing of all is that if you go to the forum, you'll see the same ass-lickers as always (employees, players? Who knows), defending Gaijin's (or Darkflow's) moves tooth and nail. I hope they find a reasonably correct balance and solve those problems because it is a game that I really like and has a lot of potential. PS2: Sorry for my bad English, it is not my native language.
True, the campaign added some charm and balance, you shouldnt worry about panthers meeting up japanese garbage or italians having to meet T-34 with no means to defeat it if they just never meet eachother in the first place. But no, they fucked enlisted just as much as WT overnight.
Gaijin cut grind in half, up to 80% off on most items and upgrades, and it is possible to earn all the cosmetic effects through regular, not even exemplary gameplay There wouldn't be this much emotion put into this game if you didn't enjoy the game on some level, well as a new player, I've been having fun!

The glitch couldve been manipulated to its fullest extent if anybody had discovered it, and if they had bad intentions. However, the development team, well aware that the glitch I found was gamebreaking, took pleasure with patting me on the back and not rewarding me in any form...

I take offense to this.
Not even a War Thunder player could stand the grind of Enlisted. At least not without paying-up.
I've reached planes and tanks at 11.0 for US and Italy WITHOUT HAVING PAYED A CENT, and enlisted was too grindy for me.
Based Italy player
Either way, the grind for both games are ridiculous, and shady tactics to get people to spend money on vehicle/gun models you already have in a different game running on the same (or close to the same) engine is just... wrong.

However in my opinion still War Thunder is in a much better state than ever before. If they implement the rest of the stuff from the roadmap then we will have a much easier grind.
Only thing they need to do is not add any new vehicles to the game, but make a big update called "quality of life".

I remember the beta, was so fun and the twitch drops were so cool, then they left the beta and i lost a squad slot due to them changing from 1 premium squad slot to 2 premium squad slot eating one of yours, instantly dropped the game and never looked back due to knowing what was going to happen, and man... im glad
1:10 WOOOOOW 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
Whats ironic is that after Battlefield 5 was mixed among Fans and Historians Enlisted saved the day by providing an authentic ww2 shooter
Problem is the grind is so severe and the "microtransactions" are so enormous that you can buy 10 copies of battlefield 5 and you still wouldnt have a tank unlocked
"Enlisted is not Warthunder", Thats a great line and so true
greatly enjoyed the Sherman v Tiger II comparison. well done
Sorry are we still talking about a game here? Sounds more like a money laundering scheme with how much transactions they’re shoving in there
Thinking Gajjin as a company and what their products are, how they work, super weird "own" marketplaces and so on.... I think all Gajjin actions are just Money laundering scheme
It's just mind-boggling how a game so insanely fun in terms of gameplay can be destroyed so severely by greed
your audio quality is wonderful for someone with this low of a sub count. i don’t usually like this kind of content but you got my like bro. keep up grinding u gon get there
It's sad to see a game with such potential fall so fast. After they stopped doing stuff for BF5 they was a huge hole missing from the first person ww2 shooters. All they had to do was make it fun and playable and not be too greedy but they fucked it up in typical gaijin fashon
I hate when there are different types of soldiers like engineers. Why is there an engineer 1 and 2 for?
Honestly I agree with that, they should have made it where you can turn a soldier into an engineer and not have an entire separate class for him. It's hard to keep track of them all!
@Matty_magpie exactly all those squads i have just piling up ... Im just waiting for PoE2 and delta force to release and I'm deleting this game
PS: I really miss being able to choose which campaigns to play in, the random map selection system is real garbage.
Or, at least, add game mode selection and map selection.
This looks like what Hell Let Loose would be like if it was a microtransaction hell.
I remember the time when this game has a lot of promises when it was in early access
Good news they heard the community.
The economic system for silver has changed and the grind is faster
Gaijin cut grind in half, up to 80% off on most items and upgrades, and it is possible to earn all the cosmetic effects through regular, not even exemplary gameplay
There wouldn't be this much emotion put into this game if you didn't enjoy the game on some level, well as a new player, I've been having fun!
That change was fantastic
It's been six months bruh, drop a video already
Bet, gimme a week or so
@@themcubed80% reduction for rank I and II price and 50% research. This deserves a video.
if you didnt see this coming from a galaxy away, i dont how youre still living
i heard of the many warthunder revolutions
but enlisted?
HELL YEAH I'M IN
