  • Finally ..feeling better after the dreaded lurgy .. I go to sea again for another multi day adventure to the Ross of Mull and the Island of Iona. My thanks to Jeff for his company on the way. We managed three lovely days of boating before storm Betty hit Scotland. Its the second named storm to hit Scotland during August which tells a lot about our summer weather this year

    Another great video Donny, we had a day trip to Lochbuie this year so I can relate to the clips in the video....and we saw the fallow deer as well.👍

    Alright Donny...i was on the beach at night , at low water, in front of the castle during a lightning storm around 5 years ago....the huge boulders on the beach lit up with constant strikes...totally amazing....

    Hi Donny, another spectacular video. Boats looking great. Looked a good clear journey, and the camp spot looked great. Were the Boats actually beached when the tide went out. I'm looking forward to part two. Abt Steve 👍

      Hi steve..yup.. the pier is high and dry at low tide ..you get used to it when camping with a heavy boat..just got to make sure its sheltered from the wind and waves as it dries out or refloats :-D

    Great video Donny something I really want to do, apart from being poorly and I am glad your feeling better I want to do that your lucky to have a friend to go with you, I know you would still of done it on your own but being poorly for so long its great to have support. The guys I hang with have even smaller boats than mine. I was at Taynuilt a month ago where a very young lad went across to Mull to buy his very first S.I.B it was a Yamaha 3.2with long shaft 9.9 2 stroke engine. The boy sailed from Mull to Taynuilt, that was the very first time he had been in a boat, no sure if I am not that brave or not that stupid but he really enjoyed the trip. just a question on your drone footage, did you fly it at different frames? one was very stuttery at my end as if it was at 24 and the others at 30f.Thanks for sharing Ray K UK YNWA.

    • @donnywilcox
      @donnywilcox  11 місяців тому

      Hi again Ray..all the footage is shot at 25 frames per second including the camcorder and go pro footage. 😀 I dont use filters to slow the drone shutter speed which you will know should ideally should be around 50 fps to get motion blur which assists preventing stutter. ( for video ...the shutter speed should be twice the frame rate..and to get that requires filters to cut out the light the camera is seeing.) I did buy some ND filters but they make life hard because with a fixed shutter speed..the video can then be over or under exposed as there is no adjustable aperture on the drone camera to compensate.. I get what I paid for ..its good quality drone footage but lacks a lot compared to a decent video camera ..im happy enough to put up with a bit of stutter rather than keep changing filters every time the sun goes behind a cloud. ,,hope that answers your question

    Enjoyed your video but had to turn the sound down every time that awful recording came on

    • @donnywilcox
      @donnywilcox  11 місяців тому +4

      Hi Kirsten can I suggest that rather than turning the sound down you go else where and dont watch my videos. I put a lot of work into them and for free so go sing your displeasure else where. I realise there are people who do nothing but moan about other folks and consider you of that type..so get lost :-D

      @@donnywilcox not complaining but if you record more songs with the brother and sister can you give her a solo, I like her voice but it's hard to hear over her brother

      Hi ross ..always happy to take a request as i intend expanding on the drone song for the videos... its a fun light hearted "earworm" song that fits the mood of my videos. I suspect a Rabbie Burns dirge would hit rock bottom quicker than my anchor would as that genre of music died with the Corries ..but you just cant tell some folks that :-D
