What a jewel this video is. Andrew, you're such a wonderful human soul. Thank you for creating this beautiful video and sharing this brief moment in time with us. I laughed out loud when Ted was trapped momentarily by the water. How kind and wonderful Petra and your friends are. Such splendid humans, with such kind and loyal animals and a beautiful surrounding. 10/10 for the video, I cannot wait to return to Scotland, my peaceful favourite place.
Thanks, Andrew. You gave us all a little holiday break with this. Petra clearly also one of the jewels, the way she naturally included you in the food/ full service, reminds me of the hospitality of times past. And wonderful to see Ted & co, him getting trapped by a wave momentarily and having fun playing [and sleeping].
I swear you do a far better job at promoting Scotland than @VistScotland. Mull is now on my must visit list. Thank you Andrew, a pleasure to watch your videos
Andrew, a million thank yous from a simple carpenter here in Central Virginia USA. My ancestors hail from the Isle of Mull, being a "McClain". Now, into my 60's, I'm unsure if I'd ever make it onto the Isle, but something stirs as I watch these vids traveling about in a land far away. Very inviting and pastoral for sure. Each one I take in, I anticipate William Wallace coming up along one of the ridges, shaking his fist about in defiance of tyranny & roaring FREEDOM ! Interesting learning some ancient history concerning the start of Christianity there. I'm a (huge) Geo. MacDonald follower, his works, and these sights connect me to the landscapes described in his many works. Very nicely done short stories, I'll look for others. Many blessings on your travels. 👍✌️
Hello there Andrew, You just enjoy getting back closer to the family, and we'll all still be here awaiting the videos to keep rolling out whenever you can ok 👍 Cheers Bernie
Oh my goodness, how beautiful! I had my first holiday on my own on Mull and went to visit Iona - such a magical place leaving me with lovely memories. I took my jack Russell dog with me and he was as shattered as your two! Thank you for your video x
Hi Andrew, this was such a Beautiful Video all throughout & 1st Class Filming! I felt quite Emotional seeing inside the Church on the Island of Iona it was so Beautiful. Seeing Dougal & Ted laid out together Sleeping after a lovely Day Out just Melts the Heart! Loved every Minute! Thank You for Sharing, Sending Lots of Love to You,Dougal & Ted. 💖💖💖💜💜💜XXX
A really lovely video Andrew. I don’t often comment although I watch most of your vlogs but wanted to thank you for sharing this trip, such a relaxing joy to watch. Your filming is superb. Dougal and Ted are gorgeous. Best wishes to you and the doggies. X
Oh wow, Andrew, Fabulous, can't wait to get back to Mull. So lovely to see Dougal and Ted with their doggy friend playing on the beach, Ted still getting used to the tide 🌊😊. How cute that they sleep so close to each other. The campsite looks amazing Thank you, and your friends ❤
Enjoyed that Andrew thank you , we love Mull the campsite you stayed at was shut when we there but it looks an amazing location. Best wishes Helen and Martin
How nice to have a break with close like-minded friends! Gorgeous scenery and camera work, Andrew! I enjoyed the glimpses of the west coast of Scotland.. I enjoyed a winter and many good times on the isle of Arran in the early 70’s.
Thankyou for another great video Andrew... I know you hear it all the time but I'll be boring and just repeat it... all your videos are great, very informative and really well put together and the scenic ones you do are absolutely stunning... the filming is so creative and so skillfully done it's actually breathtaking... thankyou... by the way Ted is growing nicely 👍
Hi Andrew lovely video as always, we travelled to Mull around 4 years ago and it was beautiful. Same campsite too stunning! You inspired us to go to the outer Hebrides twice in recent years in our van and we still think it is one of the most wonderful places on Earth. Lovely to see Dougal getting on so well with Ted. 😊 thank you
Hi Andrew what a great video been there a couple of times and to that camp site it is amazing love the island thanks for the memories - dougle and ted look as though they really had fun there 😊
That made my day. An emotional one too. I used to stay on Iona at least once a month for years. Haven’t been in a while. I’ve always liked that campsite though I’ve never stayed on it. If I ever persuade my partner to get a caravan that will be one of the first visits.
I stayed in a croft in phinafort( not sure spelling is correct) for a couple of weeks, guy I stayed with would take me with him to do odd jobs on Iona, fixing fencing etc, I fell in love with the place and didn't want to go home, nothing better than going across to Iona with a pocket full of one Skinner's, enjoy your travels 👍
Mull and Iona, what a magical combination. Mull for its stunning scenery and amazing wildlife, and Iona for its rich history - I am not in any way religious but on the few occasions I've been on Iona I really can sense "something" about the island - there is a serenity and feeling of relaxation that I can't fully explain. Thanks for a wonderful video Andrew
What a lovely, calming inspiring video Andrew! You are lucky living where you do! My mum went to Iona years ago, she often mentions it! She used to say, it begins with an 'O', but it was Iona that she meant, bless her! Brilliant you got to meet up with Andi & Petra, will see them again I presume in Dusseldorf?! Great to see the hairy coos! I look forward to seeing them again when I go! Everywhere you go up there is wonderful! Beautiful scenery, the beaches and the surrounding areas are so beautiful! Ted and Dougal are so loveable!! You are blessed! I presume that's not the end of your travels? Well you're off on them at the moment aren't you? Enjoy! Are you off to Tiree this year? I saw the line up, Skerryvore AND Tide lines! Plus Wet, Wet, Wet!! I look forward to seeing the Proclaimers, they're supposed to be excellent live! My brother in law's sister went to school with them! He comes from a village a few miles from where they hail from, Auchtermuchty in Fife! Enjoy the rest of your summer, enjoy Dusseldorf and anywhere else you are lucky enough to visit this year! Love and hugs xxx 😘🥰🐶🐕

Hi Andrew, Dougal and Ted, thanks for a wonderful video. You were meant to see the waterfall and Tobermory. Did you buy any chocolate?, what a great choice.
Well that brought back wonderful memories of last September and the holiday to Mull, staying at Pennygowan. The trip to Iona and out to Staffa which was out of this world and beyond my wildest dreams. I think I would have to go a long way to top that. The sea was incredibly calm and serene. Later this year Orkney or Lewis and Harris beckons…… Dogal and Ted seem to have bonded well, even though I expect they have their moments. Enjoy your travels with kind wishes from York and from tomorrow Berwick upon Tweed xx 🐶🦴
Great video. I was over in Iona and Mull a fortnight ago and fell in love with both islands. I realise you had the dogs with you but I highly recommend a trip to the Isle of Staffa to see Fingal's cave and the puffins (in season.) Not great for dogs though.
Wow - what stunning scenery. I bet you were glad you weren't towing the Airstream on that road to the - glorious-looking, by the way - campsite, though! 😄Your videos always instil serious wanderlust in me and the drone footage in particular in this one is breath-taking. The day we finally get our own caravan can't come a day too soon.😊
Lovely area. Thank you for sharing. A friend sings a song about longing to be back in Iona which is originally in Gaelic. The version she sings includes translations. Now I've seen the lovely island that inspired the song.

We were Scottish Island Camper Van virgins until we went to Mull some years ago. I wouldn't say that the roads deteriorate as you get further from the port, they just relax into typical single lane island roads with plenty of passing places with people who know how to use them. The fish and chip van on the pier at Tobermory provided on of the best fish & chip suppers we've had anywhere. I think that the twice weekly 'pop up' chippy at Pierwall on Westray, Orkney is the only one to beat it but if you go there make sure you either order in advance or allow plenty of time as it seems that half of the population of the island get their dinner there on a Wednesday or Saturday evening.
In the early ‘60’s, my father bought an old Manse on Mull, at Kinlochspelve, near Lochbuie in the South of the island. We had no electricity, Tilly lamps, and a well for water. No pier at Craignure then, a boat came out to collect you and any livestock coming ashore. Mull was, and is, still magical and very unspoilt.

Hi
We are going end of May in our caravan ,
How did you find being off grid ? Do you have solar panels for your van ?
Great video

I drive an EV with Vehicle to Load - my car is basically a 220v 77kW/h powerbank! And there are chargers near the campsite. Enjoy your trip!
Interesting tidal current at 2:00?
Dear Andrew, thank you for the wonderful video. I have some questions about your trip. What time in the year do you recommend to visit Mull and Scotland in general if coming the long way from Germany? Are there enough possibilities to recharge the ev on those small islands and rural areas? And last is it a good idea to take the bicycle there to enjoy the country from the saddle? Greetings from Germany also to both of your boy’s.
Come in the summer best day of the year 🥃🏴
You cannot go wrong with May and June. There are plenty of EV chargers - do an internet search for 'Zap Map' in the UK. Thanks for watching, Andrew.
Can you take folding push bikes to iona Andrew, is it a good idea for that location and if you can, how much for pedestrian and bike ?
Yes, or even full-sized bikes Steve. Check out the CalMac website for up to date prices. Cheers!
Hi just wondered can you walk from the campsite to the Iona ferry? Is there parking there for a small motorhome at the ferry?
Hi Shelley, there is paid parking by the pier, free parking 200 yards away, or you can walk the 1.5 miles each way if you are up for it. We drove ;)
Nice vlog….though sometimes I think you are taking P… out of some of it!
