Just completed the heater replacement. Old one worked but was leaking to earth. Especially liked the step by step guide to putting it back together. I would have missed those hooks that attach to the back of the evaporator housing that support it. All working now. Thanks again
Excellent video. I searched this because my heater is tripping the power board because of leakage to earth. Less than 1 M Ohm. Ordered a new one and will be following your video. Quite a difficult job. Thanks for making it.
Great video Steve! How can I tell if the problem is the Heater Element or Thermostat? Mine was frozen over and not defrosting. I took it apart and let it defrost and when I plugged it back in a short time later it started to make a noise as if something was trying to come on and it would stop the noise about 10 seconds later only to do it over and over again about every few minutes or so, it eventually froze over again. I appreciate any advice, Thanks Steve.
@@mcndahouse I started with the Thermostat since it was really cheap and pretty easy to change, so far that seems to have fixed my problem. Good luck.
Amazing instructions and so easy to follow👍

Incredibly useful video, thank you. Have near identical fridge that was about to be junked but now working.

You're welcome! Glad you find it helpful!
Excellent tutorial! This repair will test your patience, but is very doable for an average person like me. Thanks for being a great teacher!
That's a pain to do I hate it.

That’s the problem I’m having. Which do we replace?

@@lenns_music looks like on mine I have to cut the wires to put the thermostat in. It doesn’t unplug like the defrost heater. Did you have to do that?
Why was it replaced?
