i’ve definitely also heard that doll companies think “girls don’t like green” and i would love to see their sources for that conclusion 🙄 and you are right, frankie was initially not green, i think courtly jester mentioned it in a video covering the g1 prototype photos that came out? that frankie had a human (white) girl skin tone and tested poorly iirc because frankenstein-type monsters having green-tint skin is pretty cemented in pop culture consciousness and the test audience couldn’t tell what frankie was supposed to be without it.

@@vespiaries ikr! Why do people think girls only want pink pretty princesses😞 also I didn’t actually know that she’s wasn’t originally meant to be green! I mean I did, I’ve seen pictures of the prototypes, but I thought they just used that skin tone bc they were reusing my scene dolls for them. That’s interesting! Makes no sense tho, how r u gonna make a whole franchise about being yourself and being unique, but not make a Frankenstein monster green???
