No you do not have a 6-cylinder Eclipse turbocharged that only runs Thirteen's lmao my stock blog GTS did Thirteen's with full bolt ons in a ported intake manifold lol either you're lying out your ass or you have the worst built 3G ever
I love how your eclipse looks, even with a stock body. I currently have the same color as yours and i want to eventually want to do the same things to my car, it's inspiring to see the same issues that i have grown up with. I really hope to see yours on the road someday! Thanks for making me less embarassed to have a stock eclipse and showing me that i could accomplish the same thing one day.
Hi Michael! Thanks for subscribing. I'm sure Rob, the car owner, will love seeing your comment! I appreciate that Rob's story has inspired you with your car. Stay tuned for more episodes to come. Thank you for watching!
There is nothing to be ashamed about having an Eclipse with a stock body; they are beautiful cars from the factory :) Glad I was able to help validate your decision!
My 03 Eclipse is getting worked on... all the spark plugs need overhauling and the engine's timing is off. I watch these videos to make myself feel better because I miss my car :(
@connor mawhiney Thanks so much for the compliment. We try our best to make high quality content. Stay tuned for more and check out our other videos if you haven't yet. Thanks again!
one of the most inspirational things i saw, i saw the video of the fastest 3g eclipse on stock internals but never saw the man behind the car... i liked very much this video, very well performed, nice music and nice colors. i own a turbo 3g 4g64 eclipse and this story is like my own... keep posting videos like this....
Great video! I also noticed the 3G on the other side of the road at 9:10. I remember meeting Rob for the first time at a Club3g meet in Normal IL. Seeing his and Steve's booted 3G inspired me. Both of them already had everything in my wish list on Amazon. I still remember leaving Grady's and watching you and him race down veterans parkway leaving a dozen other 3Gs in the dust/Steve's oil cloud. This car brought me to Rob and a dozen other friends along the way. Some of witch even showed up to my wedding. I'm looking forward to his next build and seeing him again soon.
I have a GT eclipse, I am mechanically inclined now more than I have ever been with all the Honda’s I’ve owned thanks to my v6. Respects to you my man! You’re inspiring to keep on going!
Damn, I inherited my 01 GT Spyder from my grandparents my junior year, and I had the nicest car in my high school. The day after I got home from my freshman year in college, my auto transmission died and left me on the side of the highway. Now, 2 months later, I’m trying to save $5000 to swap in a manual transmission and invest in forged internals to eventually prepare for big power. I might be biased because the 3g eclipse is my first car, but they deserve so much more respect in the car world because of how truly solid they are (other than the sportronic transmissions). This video is proof that if you can dream it, you can build it!
Hey Logan! Thanks for watching the video. I'm glad it resonated with you and you found inspiration in it. That's what Dream Machine Video Series is all about. Hope you post some content of your car as you build it. Would love to see the progress!
third gen eclipses have always been a favorite car of mine. Reminds alot of my childhood... ive owned a 03 gs spyder before and i never got the opportunity to really put in work into it, but now after watching this, makes me want to get another one and actually dedicate time and money into it
It's a good platform for a project car, but most people swear it isn't so you don't see to many beyond stock, but when you see one that's been worked on it's awesome and quite rare
My V6 is pretty cool even naturally aspirated it's nice and quick, like the look of it because you don't really have to do any major cosmetics to it, they look good as is.
This is awesome, now I know thorough trail an error, one day I can work on my car too, this has given me the confidence to try, I really appreciate this. thanks brother.
Awesome story I have a 02 3.0 Gt & I would love to turbo mine but it is so expensive & like you in the beginning i'm not much of a machanic but I try. You should def drop the front & back bumber & debadge it. Mine looks alot better with out all there name on my ride. Thanks!
What an amazing story! Just raw, and as "True" as it can get. I can relate to this short documentary in so many ways. I now own a 3g eclipse. ( 6g72 3.0 5 speed) And my mission to build a turbo for it starts tomorrow. I wish i still has my RS from back in the Military days, but I'm excited about what lies ahead. Very inspiring, and congrats on the time! I would of never thought my RS would of ran in 13's let alone 12's back then. ( i just didn't see the potential)
I bought an 01 Syder fully loaded, 5 speed, well cared for this spring. Looks awesome, most say its a testosterone looking ride. 200 ponies was respectable back then for an NA V6. Theyre clocked 0 to 60 in 7.6, will do 145. To me it is as billed, a Grand Touring 2+2. I love it.
Wow,i was planning on selling or trading my 3g eclipse, but after watching this video, i felt like this kinda love for it, but like you said, its a big sacrifice to upgrade a car
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING VIDEO. i remember when the channel was called 03 eclipse and had like 5 videos. i loved your car because it reminded me of my 2.4L eclipse NA that i loved so dearly (and raced on drag strip as well as circuit) if you look at my channel, their is a video of my NA eclipse with good suspension and tires beating a VR4 3000GT at a 1/3 mile circuit race! my best time with my NA was a 16.79 with falken azenis RT615K+'s. my favorite tire! get back to me asdap :) would love to hear more about your baby. carlito
@RS1 the 4 cylinder (4G69) can use many parts from the Evo motor (4G63T) to build big power for relatively cheap, so if you're looking for performance, the 2.4 is your best bet. It's much more difficult to make anything out of the V6. Many 3G owners swap out their engines for the 3.8 from the 4G which is a far more potent mill
Ur really deep into cars. I have a 3g gt v6 2003 I have all stock. At 170,000 did the two heads. The timing belt, oil pump seal, a binch of stuff. These v6 engines are a pain to work on. Nevertheless, it feels good to fix your own car. Congrats.
I just bought a 3G GS convertible for my wife for $650 because it needed a timing belt. $100 and a weekend worth of work and it wasn't a bad investment.
however i have an 03 GS with I/H/E stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel and simple weight reduction, even with those few mods, it absolutely woke my car up. also i'm boosting my GS soon, maybe you can help me out.
The owner Rob sometimes checks this channel and responds to comments. I'll be sure to pass on your question to him. Thanks for watching our channel and be sure to subscribe as we do plan to upload some new content in the future.
My first car was a 2000 eclipse gt, bought that in 2003 on a used car lot but sadly totaled in not even a year and a half later. loved the car so much that i went ahead and bought a 2003 eclipse gts and didnt trade it in until 2014.
i would love to pick robs brain i have a similar story to this would like to know where he got all the parts i have an 05 eclipse gs and would like to know about what parts he used so on and so forth
I had an 04 spyder gt as my first car. Amazingly fun and are pretty bullet proof. (Put 20,000mi on it while taking her to redline atleast once a day) Did my routine basic maintenance and she just kept going. The plan was to wait for it to blow up then get the 4g46 version but the day has yet to come lol.
I felt that lol, the day I brought my eclipse GT which was the 3.0 liter V6 trim. Three people brought their eclipse but the funny part was is that theirs was the the lowest trim available which was the GS v4, and the one that was the GT was the V4 engine in it. Only reason why mine was apparently comparable was because mine was the only one with the nice bumper and because it was sterling silver but it was banged up so theres that. Im just happy im the only one to say that i owned mine since the day it came out🤷🏽♂️
I'm here in Milwaukee and I just bought my first car, a 2003 v6 gts, and I'm trying to learn more about cars in general from this car alone. Honestly, a great inspiration, knowing someone close is achieving a future goal of mine. If there are things or tips I can do to work on my car, I would appreciate contacting you. :)
Hi Josh! My name is Don and I produced this video. It's a part of a series of videos. I will try to get in touch with the owner of the car and see if he can respond or send you a DM. I appreciate you enjoying the video and thank you for your comment.
i'm 7 months late but i'm saving up all of my money and hopefully in a year i'll be able to get this www.turbokits.com/Mitsubishi/Eclipse/Turbo_Kits/TSI_Extreme_Turbo_Kit/387/
I had a 2001 Stratus R/T with the 3.0 and 5spd. Bought it new and sold it in 2008, really miss that car and the 2 door twin of the Eclipse seem to be unobtanium now to find one in good or better condition
Hey Michael. I filmed this episode and I recall the owner saying that they modified the exhaust from a V-6 Eclipse to fit the 4 cylinder engine and installed an aftermarket Muffler to give it the sound. This car sounded really cool with the custom exhaust and the turbo set up. Definitely unique. I'll see if I can get in touch with the owner to see if he can provide you with any additional information on the exhaust set up. Thanks for watching!!!
I have the 03 eclipse with the V6 in it little more power than the 4-banger and just as fun to drive. Currently having to replace the entire clutch system. Have no clue what I'm doing wish me luck.
I love the video and i would really like to know the set up on the car because i have the exact same car and i would like to set up my car that way just for the sound of it i really like it.
Thank you for watching Angel. I don't personally own this car, but I produced the video. I can tell you the basics. It's a stock 2.4l 4-cylinder with a custom built turbo kit installed on it along with a custom tune. The exhaust installed on the car is from the V-6 model. It does have an aftermarket muffler, but I'm not aware of the brand. It has a full coil over suspension kit and Evo wheels installed. I'm not sure if the brake system was upgraded or not. I know that Rob was able to achieve the record quarter mile pass on drag slicks. I hope that helps. Thanks again for watching and please check out our other videos on the channel. My best!
So I havs a 4gen eclipse spyder 07 and care had been in the family for 4 years and I was made owner of it for my 17th birthday and all I gotta say i love the car. It is the gs but haha is the 69 so it gots potential. Its handles well around the corners and when the mivec hits its a nice feeling. I love the car and hope to mod it soon. It will take time but patience will pay off
Explosive Gamer bro honest I work at Jdm in signal hill California. We have e two of them. Those motors can be made to make some serious power bro. Oh yeah I got mines. By the way🙅🙆🙏
Explosive Gamer I think it's because they automatically think of the V6 ones.. had a guy I know that I was talking to and I brought up a 3G Eclipse.. first thing he brings up is the V6 models which almost shocks me since that's the worst ones to buy.. I think this is VERY overlooked
I have a smiliar story as yours being a class below, long story short i just bought a 2003 Mitsubishi Gts 3.0 but it sucks cause is a auto. is it possible to turn it auto to manual?
Thanks so much for watching! I'm super glad you found this story inspiring. We try to find great stories to bring you on Dream Machines. Enjoy modding your car. There is quite a strong 3G community out there if the viewership and activity of this video is any indication. Thanks so much for watching and we hope you'll check out the rest of the content on Dream Machines.
Hey Joseph Andreuccetti! Thanks for watching the video. It's funny you mention the AWD. Rob's next mod at the time of this filming was to do a AWD swap. He even had the EVO drive train in his garage sitting next to the car. Unfortunately as many projects go Rob never got to the AWD swap. Around the time this video originally posted, Rob sold his high school dream machine. Sometimes married life changes things. He ended up replacing it with a BMW Z8 which his wife loves. As they say Happy wife, happy life :) Thanks again for checking out the video and be sure to take a look at the other videos on the channel.
wait wait wait how many lbs of boost were you running? I was told by a few people that these engines could hold up to 12lbs but I was also told by some people that it really couldn't hold any. I am confused I own a 2003 eclipse gs
Thanks for watching Ghost. Glad you found the video inspiring. That was my goal when starting the Dream Machines Video Series channel. Rob is a good friend and I thought his story was too good not to share.
I have 03 automatic eclipse 2.4 I am buying a turbo kit for it how much boost did you set your car at and what other upgrades did you do besides injectors
Dino SlayinDragon Hi Dino. Before I sold the car, I was typically running between 15-18 psi on the Precision SC61 turbo. However, this is definitely pushing the stock internals to their limits, and the only reason I felt comfortable doing this was because 1) the Eclipse wasn't my only car and 2) I had a couple extra engines in the garage. The question is not really about how much PSI but rather how much CFM. A larger turbo will move more air at 12 psi than a smaller turbo at 12 psi. More air = more fuel = more power. It really is a balancing act when it comes to sizing a turbo for your car, and it totally depends on what type of driving you intend to do. If you want a car with good throttle response for the street and don't want to shoot for the moon on power, then go with a smaller turbo. But if you want to make big power and don't mind waiting for the turbo to spool at higher RPMs, go with a big turbo. Not only do big turbos flow more air, they also flow more exhaust, meaning they'll run cooler and be able to make big power numbers more safely
Dino SlayinDragon other upgrades you'll want to consider in the short term: 1) stronger clutch 2) engine management...with more air you need to add more fuel AND reduce spark advance. The best way to do this is to reflash your stock ECU with ECUflash, or replace it with an Evo 8 ECU, then get it tuned by a professional tuner 3) limited slip differential. The stock differentials are weak and won't last long when you start making good power. Also, traction will become an issue quickly with the stock open differential
Just realized you mentioned you have an automatic. I'm not an expert there but there are plenty of other guys that have put turbos on their autos. Go to Google and search for "Club3G dual ECU"
03Eclipse thanks for the output I’m going to school right now for automotive and diesel technician and I’ve been wanting to do a little project I really liked your video and plan and starting small then boosting the car even more first thing I plan on doing is doing a 4g63 head swap and then either turboing or waiting till I get forged internal
How would I go about putting a turbo in my 00 eclipse gt. Is it even worth it. Not looking to get super power just a little more an than blow off sound.
I have a question I have a boosted eclipse as well but I’m having an issue finding a tune for the ecu what ecu do you use and what program cause right now my car barely starts I need a tune please help
I don't own this car, but I produced the video. Rob was very active on the 3G forums and I'm pretty sure that he met a tuner on the forums that helped him tune the car. I wish I knew more for you, but that's the extent of my knowledge. I'll see if I can get in touch with Rob so he can respond to your question. Thanks for watching and be sure to check out our other videos.
I have a 2000 RS eclipse I was wondering what Turbo do you got on your wears because I've been looking for a Turbo for the 16 valve and I cannot find one and I would love to put one on it and I had the car 10 years now and still can't find a turbo that if where it is a 4 cycle
I don't have any recommendations of where to get them. I got mine through a friend who owned his own car parts business at the time, which is no longer in business sadly
Cesar Rivas Hi Cesar. The turbo kit was custom fabricated by a local shop that is no longer in business. This is typically the most expensive route but usually nets the highest quality finished product. There are other alternatives, though. Usually the hardest piece to get right is the exhaust manifold. Some of the folks at Club3G have identified a few manifolds designed for 4G63 DSMs/Evos that work on our cars, with varying degrees of fitment issues. I'd recommend starting there unless you're prepared to spend $1200+ on the manifold alone. You could also look into some of the tubular manifolds floating around on eBay; although the Chinese quality has improved over the years, you'll still probably end up replacing the manifold and/or turbo every couple years. But as long as you get the oil and tuning right, your engine should be okay
How do I go about getting my eclipse featured? We ran a 12.0 last Friday and we are continually climbing! Next time at the track we'll be in the low 11/high 10s
2nd car added to the list lol, considering this along with the Toyota Celica, also planning on getting some sort of sports car in my junior year too lol hopefully in a budget in like $3k-$7k so might take a whole year to save up but man it'll be worth it. So probably Senior year but meh I already have a 2005 Rav4 S to be happy with for now. ;)
P.S. What got me thinking about the Eclipse is seein a Orange 3rd gen driving past me on the way to the Florida Gators game tonight since my favorite colors are Orange and blue lmao. Unfortunatly we lost but we all have our wins and losses ;)
i want to know whats done in detail, i got my 2003 eclipse 2.4 manual about a month ago, and i feel like its in a condition where it can be easily made very nice and i want to keep it and make it fast. Edit: also just foudn out today that the car is tuned lol
He should have been playing gran turismo instead of need for speed ;) Just got an '03 manual 3.0 in that exact same color. Can't wait to mod it. EDIT: omg this is like a 3rd gen Eclipse's owners forum :p
I have a 2002 eclipse rs with the 5 speed manual and it has high profile or whatever it's called racing pistons and valves with an open exhaust system, I've hit 150 mph street racing but that was a couple years ago I'm more into rally tracks
anyone know how i can get in contact with rob, i need help finding a turbo kit for my 2000 gs eclipse lol, im a senior in highschool i just turned 17 so our stories sound similar
I just picked up a 3g eclipse but, its a gt. Im going to turbo it but from what i understand since the well is so small and its a 90° rotated motor the pipes are super tight and have to be almost custom made. At least thats what ive discovered so far.
Hi Rob I have the exact same car as you I’m looking to make it my own the previous owner messed it up pretty good and I’m wondering where did you get most of your parts from?
No, I used an AEM EMS. I started putting this build together before anyone even knew you could reflash the stock ECU. Now, reflashing (or using an Evo 8 ECU) is what I recommend to everyone.
Nice to see the 3G getting some love and respect.
Your story is an inspiration even to me a 3G owner who's is a sophomore in high school
My V6 turbocharged '01 Eclipse hits only a 13.508 on average. I am inspired by your Eclipse!
No you do not have a 6-cylinder Eclipse turbocharged that only runs Thirteen's lmao my stock blog GTS did Thirteen's with full bolt ons in a ported intake manifold lol either you're lying out your ass or you have the worst built 3G ever
I'd love to see a video of your N/A Eclipse running 13s with the stock 6G72 :)
mitsumike 6g72 what is full bolt ons pls help and where do I get that
or cant drive
I want to make mine turbo but im scared to do it :(
literally never see a girl in these lol.
I always do....
Ive only seen one and it was in the SUV Crossover ;)
I have seen "chicks" go for the convertible Eclipse though, but isn't that true for most comfortables
Bought mine from a girl 🤔. She ended up clipping my fender a few months later in a coincidental crash. 😵
I've got one its a 04 Mitsubishi eclipse spyder gs convertible 😋
Thank you for posting this. I'm gonna keep my 3rd gen V6 forever now!
same
I got the 01 eclipse GT. I love it
Hopefully I’ll get to drive mine Monday waiting for registration

Update I finally did it I obtained the fuckin Mitsubishi Eclipse!!!!!!
Very nice video ! Inspiring !

Is there any hope of getting anything of substance out of the sohc 6g72 engine?
I’ll just get i4 and do a Evo swap that’ll be the easiest

The plan was to wait for it to blow up then get the 4g46 version but the day has yet to come lol.
Ah nice! I'm hoping soon I can make the eclipse plan happen. I want to build one of these cars
lol you're like the first one in this comment thread who doesn't have one. I hope you made it happen!! Just got mine today.
I’m hopefully buying a 2003 gt tmro I want to turbo it
I felt that lol, the day I brought my eclipse GT which was the 3.0 liter V6 trim. Im just happy im the only one to say that i owned mine since the day it came out🤷🏽♂️
Glen Garcia actually the RS is the lowest trim available
I'm here in Milwaukee and I just bought my first car, a 2003 v6 gts, and I'm trying to learn more about cars in general from this car alone. Honestly, a great inspiration, knowing someone close is achieving a future goal of mine. If there are things or tips I can do to work on my car, I would appreciate contacting you. :)
Hi Josh! My name is Don and I produced this video. It's a part of a series of videos. I will try to get in touch with the owner of the car and see if he can respond or send you a DM. I appreciate you enjoying the video and thank you for your comment.
That's awesome! I have am 03 gt but they dont make turbo kits for it.
i'm 7 months late but i'm saving up all of my money and hopefully in a year i'll be able to get this www.turbokits.com/Mitsubishi/Eclipse/Turbo_Kits/TSI_Extreme_Turbo_Kit/387/
@@theslimsim5587 first time I see a turbo kit for this car. Thanks. I have a 03 gt
TheSlimSim totally saving up for mine
I had a 2001 Stratus R/T with the 3.0 and 5spd. Bought it new and sold it in 2008, really miss that car and the 2 door twin of the Eclipse seem to be unobtanium now to find one in good or better condition
Bud because you are definitely giving me some great ideas for my future Mitsubishi Eclipse 3d gen and ya I have plans on making it stupid fast
What exhaust do u have on your eclipse? I have the identical car as you same colour and everything! I really like the sound of your exhaust
Thanks for the help I appreciate it
I have the 03 eclipse with the V6 in it little more power than the 4-banger and just as fun to drive.
My best!
I have a '01 Spyder GT. I'm wanting to modify it. Any suggestions?
So I havs a 4gen eclipse spyder 07 and care had been in the family for 4 years and I was made owner of it for my 17th birthday and all I gotta say i love the car. It is the gs but haha is the 69 so it gots potential. Its handles well around the corners and when the mivec hits its a nice feeling. I love the car and hope to mod it soon. It will take time but patience will pay off
I will now subscribe. Now I getting a 3g I was hating on them for a bit now I have major respect for them. I'm getting one
Tony Stark I do not get why everybody hates them.
Jordan Price umm I have both. the v6 is not the worst to get. you must have never driven the v6 one
I have a smiliar story as yours being a class below, long story short i just bought a 2003 Mitsubishi Gts 3.0 but it sucks cause is a auto. is it possible to turn it auto to manual?
I think those are evo wheels its probably the most beautiful 3g i have seen
Those are indeed Evo wheels :)
Dude this seriosuly is so inspiring!! i have a 2001 Eclipse and I love this car more than anything! I want to do some mods to it as well
Thanks so much for watching!
Love this video man awesome job!!
These looked good and it’s shocking how mitsu didn’t awd or turbo them
Hey Joseph Andreuccetti!
Awesome story!
Thank you so much! Be sure to subscribe and share with your friends. There will be more great stories to come.
Where did you get the 03-05 clear turns signals!!!
wait wait wait how many lbs of boost were you running? I was told by a few people that these engines could hold up to 12lbs
but I was also told by some people that it really couldn't hold any.
I am confused
I own a 2003 eclipse gs
I got a 03 GTS stock, this is seriously inspiring.
Thanks for watching Ghost. Glad you found the video inspiring. That was my goal when starting the Dream Machines Video Series channel. Rob is a good friend and I thought his story was too good not to share.
Do you have like a list of the setup you have put into the Eclipse? I have an Eclipse of my own that I want to work on
I have 03 automatic eclipse 2.4 I am buying a turbo kit for it how much boost did you set your car at and what other upgrades did you do besides injectors
Dino SlayinDragon other upgrades you'll want to consider in the short term:
1) stronger clutch
2) engine management...with more air you need to add more fuel AND reduce spark advance. The best way to do this is to reflash your stock ECU with ECUflash, or replace it with an Evo 8 ECU, then get it tuned by a professional tuner
3) limited slip differential.
How did he remove his rear camber I’m gonna be making an insane track car but I want to remove a bit of camber
2001 eclipse gt right here in Wisco, definitely inspiring
I have a question I have a boosted eclipse as well but I’m having an issue finding a tune for the ecu what ecu do you use and what program cause right now my car barely starts I need a tune please help
I don't own this car, but I produced the video. Rob was very active on the 3G forums and I'm pretty sure that he met a tuner on the forums that helped him tune the car. I wish I knew more for you, but that's the extent of my knowledge. I'll see if I can get in touch with Rob so he can respond to your question. Thanks for watching and be sure to check out our other videos.
Where did you get the work done on your car? I just bought a 3G and was just curious. I’m out in Kenosha
I have a 2000 RS eclipse I was wondering what Turbo do you got on your wears because I've been looking for a Turbo for the 16 valve and I cannot find one and I would love to put one on it and I had the car 10 years now and still can't find a turbo that if where it is a 4 cycle
Where you buy this manifold for 4g64 turbo ?? Please can you send me info?
What brand headlights do you have on your 3g? And where you got em?
Headlights are the Sonar projectors. They have one CFL halo ring that I never hooked up. I also replaced the bulbs with 6000K xenon HIDs
Do you have a recommended to site to get them?.. if i was to get those lights i wouldnt connect the halos either
I don't have any recommendations of where to get them. I got mine through a friend who owned his own car parts business at the time, which is no longer in business sadly
I LOVE THE ECLIPSE . THIS PROJECT IS AWESOME
Did you have to switch the pistion out?
How much psi can i run on stock internals in the 3.0l v6 2000 gt model
AD S Safe zone would be 8psi
@@mean3g161 thanks
5-8psi wouldn't go higher than 10
Definitely motivating bro I’m looking into dohc swap and turbo for my rs. Do you remember where you got your turbo parts?
How much psi did you push on stock internals?
I think the max I ever ran was ~18 psi
Awesome really.
Tengo un eclipse GT mismo año. Y mi sueño es hacer algo como tu!
Can someone link me those front headlights and those front turn signals because those would look nice
what company or what brand did you get your turbo kit and super charger from .
But as long as you get the oil and tuning right, your engine should be okay
thank you very much
How do I go about getting my eclipse featured? We ran a 12.0 last Friday and we are continually climbing! Next time at the track we'll be in the low 11/high 10s
Has anyone ever done the 3.9l bhm mivec dohc swap
2nd car added to the list lol, considering this along with the Toyota Celica, also planning on getting some sort of sports car in my junior year too lol hopefully in a budget in like $3k-$7k so might take a whole year to save up but man it'll be worth it. So probably Senior year but meh I already have a 2005 Rav4 S to be happy with for now. ;)
P.S. What got me thinking about the Eclipse is seein a Orange 3rd gen driving past me on the way to the Florida Gators game tonight since my favorite colors are Orange and blue lmao. Unfortunatly we lost but we all have our wins and losses ;)
hey guys I love this video. is there any way to get in touch with him .
He has his own channel called 03Eclipse. You can try to PM him there.
Or you could try tagging 03Eclipse in your comment.
beautiful build sir!
how many pounds of boost are you running on stock internals and what tune did you use? have an 03 gs i’m doing a turbo build over the winter on
It's so nice and the mods are perfect
i want to know whats done in detail, i got my 2003 eclipse 2.4 manual about a month ago, and i feel like its in a condition where it can be easily made very nice and i want to keep it and make it fast.
Edit: also just foudn out today that the car is tuned lol
ok so I just got a 3G Eclipse 4cyl and I’ve been looking for a catback exhaust that will fit properly. What would you recommend??
Can a stock 2003 gts take a low psi turbo
Very good video
Love the car I have a 2000 eclipse gs
Thank you! I'm happy you enjoy the video. Be sure to subscribe as we have more cool stories to come.
My buddy Rob owns this car. He's had it for 15 years. It's one of the coolest 3G's I've seen and I'm more of a muscle car guy myself.
Id like to know what is the max boost you ran on stock internals?
Im looking to do the same thing to my car, 3g 2.4 5 speed
Bro same ! People have been saying that up to 10 pounds but idk
He should have been playing gran turismo instead of need for speed ;)
Just got an '03 manual 3.0 in that exact same color. Can't wait to mod it.
EDIT: omg this is like a 3rd gen Eclipse's owners forum :p
What was your car tuned with? Like what software and did the ecu have a chip put in?
I have a 2002 eclipse rs with the 5 speed manual and it has high profile or whatever it's called racing pistons and valves with an open exhaust system, I've hit 150 mph street racing but that was a couple years ago I'm more into rally tracks
Im about to be in my junior year aswell and i already know i want this car
anyone know how i can get in contact with rob, i need help finding a turbo kit for my 2000 gs eclipse lol, im a senior in highschool i just turned 17 so our stories sound similar
I just picked up a 3g eclipse but, its a gt. Im going to turbo it but from what i understand since the well is so small and its a 90° rotated motor the pipes are super tight and have to be almost custom made. At least thats what ive discovered so far.
Hi.. Where can buy turbo kit for this , i have this 2.4
Hi Rob I have the exact same car as you I’m looking to make it my own the previous owner messed it up pretty good and I’m wondering where did you get most of your parts from?
did u use the stock ecu
No, I used an AEM EMS. I started putting this build together before anyone even knew you could reflash the stock ECU. Now, reflashing (or using an Evo 8 ECU) is what I recommend to everyone.
