I still remember playing it when I was 8, I had no clue what I was doing since I couldnt understand anything and the game wasnt translated to german. Yet I beat it after an insane amount of trial and error. Love this game.
So in a way, you kind of got the original German US settler experience 😛
It's a fun game with a simple plot and decent game mechanics. A great call back to my late teens
A great call back to my pre-fetal days
This game came out when I was 5 I was always a western fan but didn't have a xbox or Playstation so I would go over to my friends house to play this game
@@PhilipCros 2005 moment
can't believe you lived through a fun game with a simple plot and decent game mechanics during your late teen years
yes
This game is responsible for my love of the old west setting in movies and games
i used to play with my dad, good times
The good old days me and my brother beat this game 100 times lol played multiplayer with my friends jack switch dead eye was the best
RDR looks like it plays a lot like GUN
Old is gold.
Red Dead Revolver was a core part of my childhood. It was such a fun yet difficult game with a memorable story and unique Showdown Multiplayer mode. I’m glad to see it getting the recognition it deserves.
The multiplayer was so fun
Hell yeah! I always picked Jack Swift.
@@pumpkinking5397 Colonel Daren was always my favorite.
@@calicojack3542 Capcom Red Dead Revolver's gameplay was going to be like Sega Saturn Panzer Dragoon and Nintendo 64 Sin and Punishment, but unique feature was player character can move freely. Time system, Devil May Cry-like combo gauge (that says "Tough" when it reaches), wacky characters like birdman, special attacks like buffalo stampede and spinfire, supernatural tone, and target auto-lock system was also meant to appear. Taito's 10,000 Bullets, released for the PlayStation 2 exclusively in Japan and Europe, plays very much like Capcom Red Dead Revolver.
@@pumpkinking5397 Originally shown at E3 and TGS in 2002 at the Capcom booth, the Rockstar version got rid of time system, combo gauge, wacky characters like birdman, special attacks like buffalo stampede and spinfire, changing the tone from supernatural to realistic western, and changing from Sin and Punishment-like gameplay with the movement of freedom to half-baked GTA-clone.
I've been watching your vids for ages and never k ew I wasn't subbed I subbed there thank you for the content tho really helped me take the mind off the break up ladd
Been there done that, you’ll get through 👊
@@Fizhy W

Same, I subbed now thanks for reminding me
How U feeling now Brian
Amazing game... hard... but amazing
Oh yeah, Red Harlow is one of my favorite characters in a video game. "It was never about the money" I wish TakeTwo and RockStar would live by that philosophy. I'm tired of GTA 5 getting re-released every 5 years. They should have re-released Red Dead Redemption 2
the last couple missions are sooo annoying lol
@@effen_aey_manthey really should have stuck to rdr 2 dlc and even online dlc. Rdr2 as a whole is one of the most advanced games ever to exist and it got killed by a ten year old game. Sad.
This and GUN were the peak Western Games i can fondly remember as a kid. Best time.
I was just thinking about GUN the other day. Man I loved that game.
I’d love to give GUN a try sometime
@@Fizhy Definitely a must play if you haven't. I found the story to be quite good as well!
@@cigarettechair too short for me but I was happy with another western. Only other one from my childhood was something at pizza hut

Without this game we wouldn't have RDR 1 & 2.
Wouldn’t have this game without “EL TOPO”
@@GODIAM22We would not have “EL TOPO” without Lotte Kirschbaum and Leo Baer.
"Some of you weren't even born when this game was released in 2004." That makes me feel old. I was 14.
I feel you. I was 16.
@@Phobos_Anomaly The game started development in 2001 after making several concepts like the scrapped S.W.A.T. concept, with Capcom serves as its publisher, and was announced at E3 2002, but when Rockstar acquired Angel Studios, Capcom cancels Revolver... until Rockstar picked it up and released in May 2004.
20...lol
Same.
I don't remember, but now I'm a 35 year old Tingle.
I honestly love the art direction in this game, it’s super goofy and exaggerated in an endearing way. I’d love to see a new red dead revolver game, this was a pure spaghetti western versus the end of the west with the redemption games
But the end of the west is important to the story and let's the player know that this ends one way or another before 1920s
@@dankus.memeokus4192 And turns out this game's art direction was done by the guy who made Street Fighter II's Chun-Li, that's where when this game was in Capcom's hands before they got cancelled it in 2003 and Rockstar picked it up and released it in 2004.
Red: "I keep hearing some british voice in my head narating everything."
i think red dead revolver was better than red dead redemption, there was so much more character imo. also the theme is just badass, its called "his name was king" it was taken from a movie called "lo chiamavano king"
I dont even agree with this take but it's still a W
This game has never left my mind. This was my favorite game as a kid. I would go to MOVIE GALLERY (if anyone remembers those😂) and rent it for a few days. This is circa 2007. Damn I love this game.
Hey, didn't anybody notice the music? All of this game's music is pulled from spaghetti western movies of the 60's and 70's. No other game has so much film music in it. And it kicks ass relentlessly from beginning to end.
As always the Still Gold series provides us with some more gold content
“No doubt dad is being pegged by mom”
💀💀💀💀
I am a grown man with a full beard and this game is older than I am so I hope all of you folks who played this game during your childhood feel geriatric.
If it’s older than you then you’re a boy
I remember buying this game as soon as it came out at my local Kmart back in highschool days,I would hurry on home just to play this for hours!
Had a lot of fun with this on the ps2. It w as hard af too😂. I didn’t have a memory card at that time so I would have to keep the ps2 on to avoid losing progress and if I died I would have to literally start over. On top of that I shared the ps2 with my dad and wasn’t supposed to be playing that game anyway since I was young so playing it was always a whole experience of frustration. I could never get past pig josh. To this day I never beat the game but I thought it was so cool and fun.
The multi player on this was the best it was so fun unlocking characters for the multiplayer the more of the story you beat the more you unlock
So, like a third person Timesplitters?
Rockstar is legendary for this era of gaming alone.
This brings up a lot of great memories renting this from a video rental store and playing with my cousin. The game for me was very fun and along with Gun was my entry into the Red Dead series. I'm glad you are giving more attention to this awesome game
I am glad that you made this video. You are giving this legendary game the recognition it deserves in my opinion, i feel the story was really good and the gameplay was ahead of its time for a 2004 game. PS red harlow is my favourite protagonist out of the red dead series all hail the legendary game that started out one of the greatest franchise.
This and Gun were amazing
I agree. Imo gun was underrated
@@jknott1509 yo I love Gun, maybe even more than Red Dead Revolver actually
@@Kelz91 Capcom Red Dead Revolver's gameplay had more-smoother feel than this version by Rockstar, having an auto-lock targeting system similar to what the mechanic seen in arcade rail-shooters like Panzer Dragoon and Nintendo 64 title Sin and Punishment.
I think its cause i played this game briefly and then rdr and didnt think to much about revolver but I remember having the Native mother in the first game and for the longest time I am not sure why I assumed john was part native american due to red harlow and him looking the same i kind of forgot about revolver and assumed they were the same person (I was pretty young when rdr came out I'm 24 now) until rdr2 came around and i was more into looking into games lore at that point and found out john is basically a 1st generation American born to a scottish immigrant.
It's amazing this came out around the time tf2 came out, and the massive difference in graphics. Valve had more funding than Rockstar back in day
Fun fact: the beginning of this game is a very common occurrence in the United States. I remember the first time my dad gave me a gun and bandits attacked me. Good times
I think Red Harlow is just the legend of John Marston and the back story of Red is just folk stories passed around
I prefer the real rdr…
Red dead redemption?
I said the REAL rdr
Red dead revolver?
Perfection.
I was probably 6 or 7 when this game was released. My older brother got it as a gift from his girlfriend at the time. I LOVED this game. I think my brother took the memory card out each time, because I ALWAYS had to start the game over from the beginning, I usually was able to get to the part where you play as the Native American pretty quickly.. but holy fuck I loved this game.
0:23 I can't help but feel that's my fault.
Rate lego catwomens bussy out of 10
Sorry Fizhy
unlike most people in the comments I’m newer to the rockstar western games, and realized that they made a reference to the Harlow family in RDR2. it’s a Leopold Strauss mission but I remember it vividly, you help a man escape some bad guys and his pregnant, native wife comes out of hiding. Recognized them immediately
Never actually played this game
Roadhouse
The struggles of Ps2 memory cards.... That's nothing think of the memory card that not came with the OG Ps...
Oh god the nostalgia
Bro because John wick after your dog dies
4:58 this what is now known as pulling a John Wick
It's a global truth. Million dollar question is why aren't they making a remake?
Busy milking Redemption's fame, that's why.
Red is definitely a parody of Clint East woods man with no name character
Lol he does look like a young Clint.

Haven't played this one yet but want too. I didn't know about it back in the day or I would've played! I'm starting to notice some of the areas your in are the same in red dead 1 & 2.
2004? wow thats literally an ancient game
Don't look up Atari and NES games.
I theorize Uncle (RDR2) is Red Harlow (now a dmgd drunk) and Red Dead Revolver exists as a penny dreadful novel written by someone like Levin changing details and embellished the scars and other of those fantastic elements ...that's the only way I can stand his obnoxious ass
Or just accept Uncle's personality :/
Red Harlow is not Uncle.
You should have played this on Xbox since it runs at 60fps
Playing as Uncle in young, nice!
You know uncle is not red Harlow right
@@briwood6328 you know he is right
@@braedysaenz7235 no its not the timeline is no were near right...check the video out by the person who did this video and you'll see 👍✌
Don't be insulting Red like that
Incorrect. It has been confirmed that Redemption and Revolver don't share universes.
The Red dead series as a whole is gold. Each game stands on its own and each main protagonist are the number 1 badass of their era. The Red dead series is the greatest gaming franchise ever. Well to me it is
As someone who’s just finishing 100%ing it, Pig Josh was rough the first time around, but once you know his weakness (get him from behind) he goes down no problem.
You want a real nightmare? Play ‘Siege’ and ‘The Traitor’ on Very Hard.
Ive never raged so hard at a video game in my entire life
Idk y but when that guy said what the hell you looking at it unlocked so much memories
Was ten when this came out luckily my dad was cool about games my mom would have killed us both if she knew what games he was letting me play lol anyways as always great video !
Red was the original John wick
We need a 4k remake of this gem for the PS5
This is great! I liked it and subscribed!
This reminded me of Gun. This game and Gun were my “go to” games as a kid
I love the absolutely passive aggressive attitude towards the game and its logics. 🤣🤣
I played it a few months ago and I still have nightmares of that Mexican bridge
It prolly felt like you weren’t supposed to be laying your eyes upon this on a flat screen tv
I was just looking up if you’ve ever made a red dead revolver series last night… simulation stuff.
Played this recently, went half way through the game before I got use to the controls. Lol
And I laughed a lot, that didn’t help. :)
@@boogiesrevenge2087 While the train level exist in the Rockstar version, the Capcom version had the level going to be like Sin and Punishment and Sunset Riders, where the player character, riding a horse, chasing a train that carries a princess and cannon turret, and shoots enemies in a train using auto-lock targeting system.
I think this game should get an remake
This was a very big part of my childhood I was only seven years old when this game came
im glad these zoomers get to experience the classics the days before fortnite
0:15 yeah mate I was still about 2 years down the line
I remember renting this from blockbuster, and beating it twice in a week. What an awesome game this is!
Red Harlow isn't Uncle!
The man with dementia is one of my favorite characters.
Wow it’s been a while since I’ve seen anything from this game. Definitely ahead of its time! Only thing is this comment section will be flooded with the uncle theory
Dude I play this game when I was a little kid on the original Xbox that s*** was so fun I just bought the game like 10 minutes ago just so I can relive my childhood LOL
It wasn't bad, but "Gun" was better
I had more fun playing it than playing RDR1 though
I was 25 when this came out. I never got around playing it even though I've played the last two and loved them. Plus I've played all of the GTA games aside from the stuff before part 3.
I’m just getting into these western games now although I’ve owned them for a while.. I think it went Gunsmoke/Gun/Red Dead Revolver/RDR Duology.. Each may be standalone but kinda feel related too
I was 4 years old, my dad bought it back in the day and still loves it. Haven’t played it myself
Game was way ahead of its time, there was so many good games then. That was by far the best multiplayer, plus Red is an epic Mc. The storyline is cool and characters are diverse. Always gonna be one of my favorite throwback games
You must experience the delight and insanity in an old west video game in the PS2 gem, Samurai Western.
I loved this game! Does anyone else remember a game called "Gun"? That game was awesome too
Wait, this came out the same time as San Andreas!? I don't remember hearing of it back then from anyone, it mustn't have been so popular... In fact i became aware of it quite recently after playing RDR2.
I remember reading about Revolver in game magazines and how it was originally a Capcom game before they shit canned it, and Rockstar bought it up. I was kind of interested in playing it, and after I bought and beat it, I then began watching some old spaghetti westerns. Never really cared for westerns before, but after Red Dead I grew to appreciate them. Was 20 when it released.
I was 7 when this was released. We had a birthday party at Pizza Hut for my cousin who was turning 11. His one buddy got this for him. That was the beginning of '05, so I was 8 when I started playing it. We played split screen multiplayer all the time. I really miss those days. This game is very special to me.
It bugs me that everybody pretends like this game never existed. I think the best thing Rockstar could do is incorporate the lore into the next Redemption game. I would love to have a modern style game living the "real" experiences of Red Harlow rather than the Tall Tale version Revolver is kinda remembered as.
This game is awesome! I loved it.
4:21 lmao that caught me off guard
I was 16 when this game came out. Not many ppl know about this game. Most assume the franchise started with Redemption. You should review "GUN".
My biggest gripe with this game is that it’s so difficult to see things because of the screen resolution or whatever… I still play it on the PS2 and it’s incredibly difficult to see things on the screen
I was 15 when this came out, 33 now- does not feel that amount of time has passed.
Just beat the game, fucking amazing is all i can say, some parts were quite frustrating but I’m happy to have seen it through to the end, deserves a remake
I remember that horrible train mission💀💀🍉
Honestly, I'm glad they stepped up their game in graphics after San Andreas. Something that always bugged me about that game was the awful excuse for "mouth movements"... Like, they are literally just stretching their closed mouths not even in sync with their lines.
Rockstar should make a remastered version like straight up Red dead redemption 2 graphics and everything. I’m sure a lot of people would buy, I mean RD2 online got abandoned so why not cool off gta 5 and do something cool like that. Revolver is not that long of a game too.
If this game got remastered with next gen graphics and new mechanics Rockstar would make millions.
I used to think this and GTA San Andreas graphics were AMAZING in 2004.
2022 me - "Stupid fuck."
Thanks for good video. You got a new subscriber as reward. 😂
Loved your rdr2 vids!
I might get revolver one day, try it out.
Why does Red's mother sound like Donna from Family Guy? The voice and the model do not fit lol
I remember this game. I didn't play it though.
Frr this game gold but can we talk bout GUN , cuz that game was legendary fr
I didn’t get a memory card till after 3 years of owning a ps2 me and my friend had to beat spider man 2 in one day just to not play it over and over again
Aka vistual cop with legs.
If any of u play virtual cop, just pause and reload pointing the celling to unlock and weapns with infinite clips 😎
Rockstar watched players mow down all these great characters in seconds and then decided to make the next two sequels RPG games.
With plenty of escort quests where you're forced to actually interact with their characters.
Coincidence...I think not.
Remember deciding to rent this game one night at blockbuster. And the rest is history. What a game!!
