They do happen now and then. Lol Because I filmed two of the battles at the event this year, both ending differently, I had a choice of editing it with an American victory. But I liked the shot of the hetzer "broadsiding" the stuart too much, and I didn't think the Americans could recover very well from that. So, Germans win this year.
The audience hates it when Axis wins battles. They always boo. It's like they think war only goes "their" way. I hate when they boo, feels like they're shaming the Axis reenactors. Without them, we don't have reenactments. Without them, you've got a bunch of Allies doing a living history.
@@OneSkiWonder Thankfully, we always had cheers at my local reenactments. Ahh, the days when I only needed to drive 15 miles to see a WW2 living history. Now the only ones I can find are 2+ hours away and I don't have the money to afford the gas.
1:08 The MG42 ‘on fire’ I’m betting that this is a simulated firing weapon, which means they run on an oxy-propane gas mix, the advantage of running this system means that they are a fraction of the cost of using blanks. From military muck about I think..
Thank you so much for making these videos. After every Rockford Event, I always eagerly await the video you'll post. I was there, It was an absolute nightmare. There was a downpour of rain, so my unit couldn’t participate in this battle. I watched it from the crowd though. Midway village seems like an awesome place, I just wish it didn’t rain so heavily, there would have been more of a turnout
my buddy and his dad were kind enough to invite me to go with them to this event. sadly it was pouring down rain but it was still worth going to. i hope to go their next year again with my grandpa who likes the tanks and other military vehicles. if you don't mind me asking what division do you renacket in?
Everybody seemed super quiet. Usually, during battles (I do Civil War so it might be different) we're constantly talking. if orders aren't being yelled out we're either taunting the enemy or we're wounded and screaming bloody murder
Man was that a fun time, I was there with my Grandpa. We were trudging through the mud in the forests and talked to some Germans, who were impressed at Grandpa and I's endurance to the rain.
I've been to a couple reenactments in Austin TX at a museum that does them for free. They aren't as large scale as the ones in these videos, but still great fun to watch.
I was present for this. Horribly muddy and rainy, they actually had to call off day 2. A fantastic event though, ended up getting and original Brodie Helmet and Swiss m18/40. I’m looking forward to 2021
I wish I could be in one of those, they’re really good and I know a butt ton about WW2, but I’m under 18 so I hope this reenactment community lasts a while
There are units that accept under 18, starting at 16. Some at this very event. You’d have to look at who’s on the roster for this event this year, but get in contact and try to get in! We need more people!

No barrels overheat that happened all the time in the war because of the fire rate. It was just to overpowered.
I think the fire is a simulation if what would have actually happened
They turned their MG42 into a flammenwerfer.
