short and sweet, right to the point. UA-cam instructors would take 30 minutes and not say half what Jack said.

Thats cause youtubers aren't trying to teach people. They are trying to make $$$ first. They need to obey the algorithm and fill time/be controversial/click bait/shock/confuse/get clicks/get subscribers etc.
Imagine if teachers in school got payed based on popularity/ratings etc. Its a different world

For decades pros have been teaching people to keep that left heel glued to the ground. I just saw Bobby Jones and now Nicklaus advocating lifting the left heel. I think it might have two advantages. It allows players who are not as supple to complete their backswing better and replanting the left heel is an easy start to the downswing.

Good presentation....brief and to the point. Lots of youtube instructors could learn from this.

Lot of them don’t know how to explain it, and honestly they don’t even have the accolades to be speaking that way. I feel YT golf instructors try to say too much and be too complicated, when the golf swing is supposed to be a natural motion. I like this video because it’s very blunt, and to the point.

I was taught the "compact swing" when Tiger Woods "textbook" swing was all the rage and golf pros insisted the left heal should be planted. The rational being that introducing unnecessary muscle movement into the swing also introduce unpredictable ball trajectories. Thus, anchoring the right heel takes all that muscle movement out of the equation.
Sounds rational in theory, but the anchoring the heel also takes a long-term toll on the sacroiliac joints in the hips.
Which is why - for example - an aging Tiger (and other older pros) need corrective back surgery later in life - while the old pros like Jack Nicholas, Arnold Palmer, and Lee Trevino never suffered back injuries. Critics of the "modern" or "compact" swing began falling under scrutiny in the 2010s from pros and trainers within the PGA began arguing that the left "heel-knee motion" does not improve ball striking predictability and is a natural and necessary movement to the rotation.
This is an absolute fact of sports biomechanics as applied to the golf swing. That said, are pros and weekend golfers ignoring it? Yes, and many will regret it in later life.

That may be true about his back issues forming but it's not just because of keeping his front foot flat on the backswing. If you look at Tiger's iron swings, he would kill them but he would use shorter clubs and/or be hunched over more than other golfers. All those swings leaning over his iron shots may have wreaked havoc on this back too.

Classic swing yes you want the lead knee too move a decent amount and they foot to lift etc...modern swing not so much

Footwork is probably the most overlooked thing in the golf swing.

    • @unwelcomemotivation

the modern swing advocates for keeping your left knee from coming backwards on the back swing. Sacrifices tempo and power for consistency for most golfers. a lot of people could benefit from the traditional swing. Example. modern golfers like tiger have to bend the left knee forward so it doesn't come backwards forcing their right knee to straighten at the top of the backswing, jack can keep his back/right knee flexed (harnessing power) even at the top of his backswing because he allows his left knee to come backwards with his rotation as apposed to just forward (towards the ball)

Really? Look at his record and while your doing that look at the takent he had to compete against. Plus Jack wasn't born with a golf club in his hand like Tiger. He didn't have a swing coach at the age 5 and the other analytics like the modern players have. So next time you want to make a comment try looking at the facts first.

    • @coreyhickman3095

TheTurfrex dude it’s not close. Go watch Tiger play a round in his prime. I get you’re nostalgic. But you can’t argue with common sense.

Not saying he isn't one of the best, especially in his prime. Has nothing to do with me being nostalgic. Your not weighing in all the factors. I can go on about Tiger having a huge endorsement deal before he even hit his 1st ball as a pro. That takes alot of pressure of you when you know that if you don't win your family won't starve. Plus there's the hgh scandal in 2008. These are all facts. Again Tiger is a beast and great for the gane. but as for the greatest sorry you need to look at Jones, Hogan, Sneed and yes Nicklaus. We are just going to have to agree to disagree. Hit them well my friend.

This is interesting because my friends were making fun of my 'baseball players swing' by raising my foot. I'm new, i'm inconsistent but I can also hit 320yrds despite not really playing. I thought the 'baseball players' swing was a stupid comment. Looks like it is. Maybe doesn't work for other people.

I love The Bear, but rolling the ankles does not keep the hips level; rather, they tilt them in the appropriate fashion. It amazes me how the genius-level doers often get the explanation wrong. I
