There's even videos of the Assetto Corsa mod here on UA-cam that shows Toad Circuit possible to race and drive with a realistic handling car. So now boring is really subjective, but it drives well.
2:52 The real answer is that since every single course in the Booster Pack came from Tour, these tracks have a bigger focus on glider sections to mix things up since Tour doesn't have anti-gravity. I'm just glad that Nintendo listened to our feedback and amped the graphics and incorporated anti grav into the later courses on the Booster Pass despite them being Tour ports. Because they're in 8dx now dang it and they should match the standards of the rest of 8's courses
I don't think that's true. Most of the BCP tracks were taken from Tour, yet quite a few are possible. The Tour tracks that are based on real environments typically cram in a lot of detail. As a result, the lengthy glider sections essentially serve as a "break" & they allow the player to appreciate the track environment.
@@affa4 It's weird, they kinda agree with me? XD I said that the glider sections were there to mix things up to make up for the lack of anti-grav, but I didn't specify how they mix things up. But using glider sections to take a break and look at the cities is definitely one way that they mix things up So I think the replies just didn't realize that they agreed? I didn't mean for my point to be for or against the glider sections in Tour, simply just an explanation for why they're there and why there's so many of them
I think the Bowser Castle isn't problematic because of the anti-gravity section. That steepness does look possible with a powerful engine and some momentum. Driving on some mesh this close to lava might melt the tires though,
I do want to quickly point out one thing on Daisy Cruiser.... The Mk7 revamp of the Engine room is so confusing since the visuals aren't enough to show what they intended it to be. It went from a Engine room to a On-Ship Aquarium, but the colorscheme of the aquarium is terrible and would make the fish unhealthy. Though I suppose that point is null and void when you ram full speed into it with a Honda Civic.
5:38 "...how questionably thin this ice is" That is some THICC ice!! In real life, ice that thick would be perfectly safe to drive on, especially considering all the vehicles in Mario Kart are tiny, one-seaters. The cracks are way more concerning than the ice's thickness, but even they look to be solidly frozen back together.
The Booster Course Pass has massively improved my love for Mario Kart 8. Waves 1,2,5 and 6 were my personal favourites, and I liked most of the tracks, even Toad Circuit.
Toad circuit really created a divide in the fanbase. It still sours my view of the booster pass, it just looks like lazy ports of mobile game maps to the amazing mario kart 8. It got better but first impressions can make or break it
Koopa Cape was changed back in 3DS to have water and less electricity, though personally i like it because especially with the added anti grav in this version it can get very chaotic.
It is here! If Choco Mountain and Sky Garden were how they were in Mario Kart 64 and DS, it would totally be drivable, with the exception of the boulders of course.
Very glad you uploaded a follow up to the last video! Also, don't be disheartened if this doesn’t get as many views as the last one. You definitely got lucky that your last video got pushed by the algorithm, but that has definitely helped you to start gaining a following you absolutely deserve! In terms of videos, just try and do more silly ideas that you enjoy making!
Toad circuit actually isn’t possible. Due to the lack of anything remotely interesting occurring, all people driving the track would simply fall asleep and eventually crash, causing a severe amount of casualties, after the first few deaths, the MKTeam would just need to shut down the course, thus making it impossible to be complete.
I do want to point out that Rosalina's ice world would be possible on all three laps because a real car would be able to accelerate fast enough to skip the gap in the ice on laps two and three as well as being able to do some precise driving in-game to use a mini turbo boost to just make the gap and land on the ice.
Not sure a Toyota Camry or Honda Civic has a mini turbo boost function. Yeah, maybe you could give it a turbocharger or nitrous mod, but that's not gonna do much. Either way, the weight of the car would shatter that ice and/or damage it significantly.
I really thought the booster course pass would have more because there is a lot less anti-gravity, but i didnt realise the curse of all the city tracks having a massive glider jump 😢
Something that would also disqualify the Rainbow Roads if they were in space is the lack of oxygen. Space is a vacuum, meaning no atmosphere; no atmosphere means no oxygen; no oxygen means no internal combustion to either breathe or power any internal combustion engines.

As for the Rainbow Road arguments, you mentioned some people said that gravity wouldn't be a thing. Well, if that's the case, then consider the Toads that are wearing apace suits. There's no air. Cars need oxygen. Space is as much an issue as water for internal combustion.
11:04 well there is orbit/law of attraction. Yes you weigh less out in space- but 8's/Wii's Rainbow Road is close to Earth so it could be argued that gravitational forces could theoretically pull you back to the track. Sort of similar to how satellites work?
On the MarioKart 8 rainbow road, it’s placed far above Earth but definitely close for there to be significant amounts of gravity. While this doesn’t make the track drivable because of its glider sections (which wouldn’t have air to glide on anyway), it’d be really interesting to see what jumps and other elements would be possible in reduced gravity.
Disagree re: Coconut Mall - I think if one of those fancy "built to do crazy jumps" cars can do it it should count, like, all of Excite Bike arena, you know? It's not a regular car that the average person owns, but it IS possible in real life. And the Coconut Mall jump (on the bottom, of course) didn't look THAT tall. Oh well! Great video, super love this.
Oops! Okay, you really do mean just a normal car and not a dirt bike. WELL. I still think you okay-ed some jumps on other tracks that were about the same size as that Coconut Mall jump, but not a problem! Super interesting thought experiment, for real. Love this video series.
7:13. THANK YOU for acknowled it!!!! I've been saying that about Koopa Cape ever since they added it to Mario Kart 7 and it baffles me how no one ever talks about it, some people even saying it's better now
It's really cool that UA-cam has finally figured out a way to push me smaller channels and videos without hundreds of thousands of views. These were two great videos man!
Another thing about Rock Rock Mountain, is before the finish line is a very steep slope, which a real car would most likely struggle with. Unsure if anyone else has stated that before.
That coconut malls drop could probably be handled by a baja trophy truck, May i suggest you continue this series by going over the previously failed track and determine which could be done with an appropriate race vehicle
Counterargument: In Rainbow Road (8 and Wii and maybe 3DS to some extent), you are close to Earth (and multiple planets for 3DS), meaning there could be some gravity there. However that does wuestion hie the station is afloat for the 8 version, but there could be other reasons Yes I do know you're using Earth gravity as reference, just wanted to say
Great video, would be great to see more Mario kart content in the future. Maybe try this with other Mario kart games. The previous games don’t have gliders making things much easier.
SNES rainbow road actually is possible. If you look at the background youre not actually in space and theres nothing else (like glider or antigrav) stopping you from driving it.
You actually can get onto the ice in Rosalina's Ice World lap 3 if you do a precise mini turbo trick to launch yourself. In real life a fast enough car can make that jump.
I think Coconut Mall is possible if you are racing on a motorcicle. You would have to be a professional to do it safely, but the drop before the parking lot feels more realistic than the jump over the drums on Music Park.
Choco Mountain: If the bridge hadn't been destroyed there it'd be driveable. Coconut Mall: A prepped rally car could probably do that. Waluigi Stadium: 100% doable. I wouldn't drive it with a factory stock civic but a prepped rallycross car would probably be able to handle it. Snow Land: You'd definitely lose your front bumper on that jump, but if you carry enough speed into it you can probably make it without too much issue. Sunset Wilds: This is the kind of terrain you'd see in the Baja 500. London Loop, Berlin Byways: The stairs would be impossible for a sedan but a truck or SUV could climb them without a hitch. SNES Bowser's Castle 3: Once again, there's a video of a stock Subaru Outback successfully climbing a sand dune. The angle of that is actually steeper than this track. Rainbow Road: You actually wouldn't just keep going up in space - relative to whatever object you're orbiting, anyway. You'd still drift away from the course, though.
I'm glad I looked through your channel after the previous video and saw this one. Awesome video! And this is coming from someone who doesn't have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because I already had Mario Kart 8 on Wii U. Although I have to admit with all the DLC added for Deluxe, I'm probably going to suck it up and get the game after all instead of waiting for Mario Kart 9 to never happen
Rosalina’s ice world is doable without going underwater if you use the half pipe’s boost to clear the gap, but then again you probably would destroy your car after landing
I feel like something that should’ve been considered is the thickness of the track. A car is much bigger than a go-kart, so if a path is too narrow for a full-sized car, it may not be drivable. For example, on Kalimari Desert, although there IS a big gap next to the ramp, if the gap were too small for a real car, it wouldn’t be possible to drive on, but I’m not sure if there are any tracks with this problem, it’s just hypothetical.
Rosalina's ice world is possible, if you release a mini turbo at the same time you trick off the ramp it gives you enough speed to always land on top of the ice 10:08
My only question is: How do you not have more subs?!?!! (I subbed btw) but I really liked both of your mariokart videos!!! I would really love a mariokart 64 or double dash version of this video!!! Keep making awesome content pls!!!

Another issue is that I think because it's also relying on Earth gravity and logistics, it does ruin some tracks' potential. I'm not gonna argue into what jumps are possible (though considering that I'm pretty sure it is possible to do the part on Rosalina's Ice World in MK7 w/o help, I would imagine it'd be doable in MK8) as some probably are genuinely impossible.

some tracks that you mention that “arent possible” could be possible if you were on a smaller vehicle (ie a motorbike) for example in the paris track (forgot the name) i motorbike could easily fit past the glider and you can just traverse the grass and up the stairs
I’m not going to lie, I could probably drive on all the mk8 tracks because I’m just really awesome at driving (my car has really good suspension so no jumps would affect it)
I just watched both of your vids on this subject and it gave me the idea that maybe the actually driveable mario kart courses could be used in like a driving simulator or something. I'm sure you could mod them into gran turismo or put them in iracing or something right? Driving through toad circuit on an f1 car might actually be fun

This video pair was a fun watch! I think that if you could deliver some more charismatic narration (currently gives a very "I am reading off of a script but trying not to read off of a script" energy) and balance the audio a bit better (those transitions are LOUD!) then I'd have basically no qualms with either, relatively speaking. Super good video idea!

It's in new york. I don't want to make the joke but it's in new york.
I really enjoyed these two videos!
I'd really like to see a Mario Kart 7 version next if possible?
I will make a version for the other mario karts in the future but i also dont want to make exclusively mario kart content. I'll be making a version for the other mario karts within the next few months though. I'm also glad you enjoyed the vids enough to want more. like for real thank you so much for watching it really means a lot
some tracks that you mention that “arent possible” could be possible if you were on a smaller vehicle (ie a motorbike) for example in the paris track (forgot the name) i motorbike could easily fit past the glider and you can just traverse the grass and up the stairs
It would be cool if in the super mario themed park, the owners would make a mario kart themed area with all the 29 realistically drivable tracks
I'm predicting every city track is drivable, you just need to take the most drivable route on the track
there's always a drivable route within the city tracks
Respect for using inward drift
Thanks for doing the DLC! Great vid!
The fact that you exclusively played as Funky in this video just angers me to no end.
paris track is possible if we use a bike and go between the obstables until you get into the other track
This was really good! so glad you made a second one
Driving through toad circuit on an f1 car might actually be fun
the names of the cups is based on the names of the items that represent them. Like lucky cat is based on the 3d world power up that transforms you into one of those lucky cat sculptures when ground pounding. Acorn cup is based on the acorn mushroom from new super mario bros u
Cool concept, i would like to see this concept for other mario kart games like 7 wii and ds
I can tell by the entire writing style of the video that you are a MKwii fan. And that is good.
Let’s goo the long awaited sequel
Finally someone who agrees with me that they ruined the tunnel section of koopa cape, like why did they get rid of the shockers??????
These two videos were fun dude!
I wanna actually drive and gave a race on moon view highway with that banger music while I drive away from the IRS🗿
Space has no gravity, so the glider sections could work, just make it slightly dive or throw something to make it go down
1:46 nice melody instrument or maybe two - it sounds like at least 2 tones but that could be on one
I'm pretty sure the underwater section of Daisy Cruiser is a ballast, used for stability.
Thanks for making this and the other video!! It's small random ideas like these that I really always wanna watch, but no one ever makes things like this. I hope that made sense lol but ya cool videos! I like them both ^^
DO THIS WITH EVERY MARIOKART GAME
One this video, great editting, good presentation. Only gripe: maybe lower the volume a bit on the title cards, it's a lot louder than your voice.
This was a cool series! Excited to see what do next
Fun fact: if you go fast enough, you can make it onto the ice on the second and third laps of RWI. So it could be possible.
Listen man, when you take as many shrooms as Mario, Waluigi Pinball is definitely possible.
I can never unsee the alligator face
