WOW, I am a nurse but I never really understood how ACE inhibitors working, I just memorize the concepts and went by them, now I understand it. THANK YOU so much
Professor u are absolutely BRILLIANT and I want to thank you with all of my heart for being so generously kind to help others with horrible instructors (like myself) to get a clear understanding of A&P as well as Pharmacology. Without your lectures I don't know how I would make it through nursing school. You are the Michael Jordan of education and I appreciate you so much! Again, Thank you.
Excellent instructor! I wish this was available 12 yrs ago when I was in nursing school. With the amount of resources on youtube, today's students can't complain much. Thank you professor, and keep them coming.
I'm a dental student and i thank God i found your channel while searching for an antihypertensive drug lecture. I really like your video and the fact that it involves dentistry,I had to subscribe!
Thank you Professor, you are one of the best instructors ever. Keep up the good work. I love the way you explain it right from the basics that every student would understand. Thanks so much.
Aww professor Fink..it is with your videos that I am still in Veterinary school. Whatever I don't understand I know I can watch one of your videos and I will understand it, thank you so much!! Many of my classmates also watch your videos, many of the drug mechanisms are the same as well as the physiology. Thank you for your dedication and love for education..your enthusiasm is contagious. I still jump every time I see nervous system videos when you mention neurons "synapse" 😁 🤗
You are such a help. Thank you so much. You are engaging and funny and you break down your knowledge in a way that students can grasp. thank you for your gift of teaching!
Hydralazine is not the drug of first choice in pregnancy anymore although in scenarios where its the only one available it is accepted, now its labetalol. Great lecture to start learning antihypertensives! Greetings from Colombia!
Thank you so much Professor Fink!! You are so easy to follow and very thorough!! I wish I could actually sit in your classes!! This video helped me so much!!
Thank you for the vedeo very helpful for me..because while im having my term paper im listening the vedeo..thanko you so much ..is exactly same of my professor when he discuss about this topic...
Hydralazine for treatment of severe hypertension in pregnancy: meta-analysis published in the British medical journal in 2003. This is the article backing my previous comment :D
you are very better more ways than my prof when he enters the hall the place turn into funeral but you add funny facts to the lecture i like your style ....thank you very much
Great Video, however it has been shown that increasing the dose of Thiazide and Thiazide like diuretics has no added benefits, the drugs commonly titrated up to the maximum tolerated doses are ACE Inhibitors, ARBs and Beta Blockers.
U are great teacher .. u have your way to make the most diffecult thing is sooooo easy to understand and easy to remember ,.in the most simple words for the forign student , You will never know how much you help me But may I mention in ur licture u mention caduet .. and as you said befor its combiation of atrovastatine and amlodipin ., later in ACEI,s by mistake u said it is combination of benzapril .. Thank you for those great lectures .. I really preciate what are you doing
Professor excuse me, does this Pharmacology playlist is enough for Medicine students, and/or what is your advise and extra tips for us to know about it? Because its for dental hygiene student, sometime you say dont worry about names or etc etc...
The Lectures were made for students completing a BS in Dental Hygiene. Certainly, they should be helpful for medical & dental students, but probably not sufficiently detailed.
While you are not testing on drug names, please don't diminish the importance of learning the portion of the generic names that will help students on their boards such as knowing the ACE's end in "pril" and the ARB's end in "sartan." They may not need to know it for your exams; they will need to know it for their boards. It doesn't hurt for them to start learning now.
I'm curious why those with high BP don't just donate blood periodically to keep it down. (I'm learning about BP and it's regulation because mine is way too low (80/58 the other night - 90/60 at doc's office - while on Dexedrine for my ADHD) and that's how I got here.) I joke with a hypertensive neighbor saying "gimme some of your blood so we both feel better" lol. (I am starting treatment now for POTS - cardiologist diagnosed - which may be related to my Lupus/MCTD). Anyways, I think the Red Cross would appreciate more donors and I wonder why it's not advocated. Thanks:)
remedyfarm To help you understand the fallacy of donating blood to solve the problem: IF you had a fever, why don't you turn-on the air conditioning in your home and lower your fever that way. Turning-on the air conditioning does not treat the underlying cause of the fever (possibly an infection). And donating blood to lower blood volume & blood pressure does not treat the underlying cause of the problem.

How will giving blood have to do with your heart pumping?
Ruth Morgan it will slightly reduce blood volume so should reduce blood pressure, part of the reason they often give something sweet afterwards.
