That is a very good question. At the time I made this video I was living in an upstairs unit and my downstairs neighbor always made noise complaints about me. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Did you wash the tool when it’s hot with cold water.. it will crack.. leave it to cool by itself prior cleaning might help… not sure if this is the problem
@@tomatobaby6827 I bought the same grill few days ago and had hard time burning up 1 charcoal . Whole thing isn’t hot enough and my food goes to an electric grill instead. What a disappointment
Those are literally meant for decoration. Thats why the price point is so cheap for something being a ceramic grill. I have too used one and it was terrible as far as it completely breaking after first use.
I actually found one at the thrift shop for 3$ and now I’m figuring out the missing pieces. Got the grill to go on top but need the charcoal. Can you get the special charcoal at a kitchen store???
Mary, thanks for watching. The charcoal you see here can only be ordered online, but since I've made this video I found some cheaper substitutes. Get any low-smoke charcoal like lump charcoal from Lowes or Walmart, then put it in a plastic bag a smack it gently with a hammer or hit it on the ground until the pieces are small enough to put in there. That works pretty good too.
I was wondering about using regular charcoal inside, like table top, because I know carbon monoxide is dangerous??? But thanks for the idea about crushing regular briquets to fit… I would think that’s ok outside only??
So true. I wish I knew about that ahead of time. Everyone has been telling me that since I made this video. :) Thanks for watching Luke, I appreciate your comment! 😃
Can it give smoky flavor ? I don't see much smoke unless fat drips down to the coal. I tried making burger patty using cast iron pan on a stove it didn't taste good, it lacked the smoke flavor. Was gonna buy something similar but seems like a hassle to use, thanks for not cutting out the bumpy part of the whole process like in 4:56, that oh no part makes me think twice of getting this lol
Theres supposed to be a metal dish inside for the coals to go in on the inside it isnt made for the coal to dirrectly touch the clay / diotonatious earth
I actually put a piece of coal on a stove top burner for like a minute to get it white hot then transferred it to the hibachi with tongs. Good question.
Hi Norma, you can find those in the barbeque section of your local supermarket near the charcoal. Or you can go to this link here if you would like to order from Amazon. 1:30 I know you skipped ahead, but surprised you got it lit so fast with that blower. Usually takes me 45+ minutes to light Edit: I hope you have amazing ventilation if you're using it inside. I'm going to assume you're being safe, but yeah
Yes, that is a good point. I'm wishing now that I included this part in the video. I had to separately light the coal by placing one brick on my stove burner for like a minute to get it nice and hot and then transfer it over with tongs. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
I like your fun laid back style! Subscribed!
That is awfully nice of you! Thank you for watching!
well said :)
You have to put water in the bottom for 10 mins. Then pour out any extra. This will make the ceramic pot heat slower so it will not crack.
Ohh! Thanks for the advice and thanks for watching Janice!
Your personality is perfect for reviews
Oh man, you know how to enjoy the more easy and simple amazing things in life. Congrats!.
Haha. Thanks for watching Freddy!
Very charming and entertaining. My wife and I loved it.
Thank you Luke for watching!
Thank you for a great video… I’ll be watching you !!! Subscribed💃🏾
Mary, you have made my day. Thank you for watching!
Why are you holding up the mortar when using it? You can just put it down on the table
That is a very good question. At the time I made this video I was living in an upstairs unit and my downstairs neighbor always made noise complaints about me. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@tomatobaby6827 ah! Kinda figured it was for some goofy reason. Man can’t even use a mortar and pestle properly due to neighbors, tsk!
The japanese coal is ultra hot as well. Waaaay hotter than normal coal. I've bought one. Haven't used it. I'll put water in mine first before using
That's a good idea. It think that's what I needed to do, give it a nice soak first.
Did you wash the tool when it’s hot with cold water.. it will crack.. leave it to cool by itself prior cleaning might help… not sure if this is the problem
That could have been it. Thanks for watching and thanks for the advice.

Soak your skewers in the water for a couple of hours before using them. That's the trick
Yeah, that's what I should have done. Thank you for the advice and thank you for watching Vincentius!
@8:45 there was no visible crack. Could it be that you washed it in water while it was still hot that led to the cracks?

I agree with you Kato. Thank you for taking the time to watch this video and leaving a comment. I appreciate that!
I think u should try another cuz when u used the tourch it expanded to quickly and possibly the reason it broke
Good advice. I might have pushed it further than it was designed for. Thanks for watching.
@@tomatobaby6827 just heat it very slowly. No fans
Its a ceremony type approach.
Some people go up on the roof when the world is getting them down.

In the Philippines we called that "Kalan de Uling" and the process of cooking is called "Ihaw ihaw" 😊
Thank you for watching! I always appreciate your comments!
What coal do you use back home please
@Kae Aguete, dito sa Pinas, hindi agad nabasag ang kalan de uling....matibay ng ilan gamit bago masira! hehehe

dont forget to soak your bamboo sticks for half hr or so before your desired meats or veg will stop them burning and breaking apart.

Binchotan type charcoal is smokeless
This is so cool!!!!! Awesome!!!! 😊😊😊
Chris, YOU are awesome!
Oh goodness.... I was worried about it setting off the fire alarm 😄😄😄
My anti-smoke setup is ridiculous... I put up big plastic tarps that separate the kitchen in its own environment.

Explain please.
After cooking, before? Wouldn't the steam extinguish the fire?
One way to burn down your house.

Soak scewers in water for five mins.

Use REAL Binchotan, they cost $300 for about 20 pounds.
Thanks for the tip. I just googled it, it looks good. Will definitely have to use that next time! :)
