How can an Australian female country musician, have the audacity and bare faced cheek,to take one of the greatest songs ever written and change its tempo, cadences and it's emotional impact, and then to add insult to injury, make this great song even better,I guess some of you may have been wondering where I was going with that?,Kasey Chambers, thankyou ,for the best cover of any song ever!

🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘A direct quote "I've been mostly influenced in my life by artists who bravely put fearless emotion into lyrics and no one does that better than Eminem" - Kasey Chambers (Rolling Stones Magazine 29/07/2022)
So ecstatic that UA-cam reactors have responded so positively to Kasey’s version of this song! Hopefully it will gain her worldwide recognition. Girl deserves it after so many years. ❤ 30+ years in the industry, both as a youngster with the family band and as a solo artist.
It is her brother who comes in on the second verse, with the guitar and harmonies. Her Dad is the one on the slide guitar, once the whole band comes in. Kasey Chambers is an Australian country singer, songwriter who likes to venture into other genres occasionally. She is also an Eminem fan and wanted to cover this song for years but wasn't sure how to do the lyrics justice. The Pandemic gave her that chance. Unable to tour, she spent the time (with her band) working on this arrangement and perfecting it. As someone else mentioned, she did not have this video this show, so the day after the concert she asked members of the audience, who filmed the song on their phones, to send in any footage they had. The final cut is the montage of the numerous videos' received from her request.
We all watch covers of favourite songs.....but after one or two they get old! Love M&M's early stuff too. But I've watched this over and over, not likely to tire of it.❤
Kasey is a 47 yr old Mum, who grew up in my home State of South Australia. She played with her family band (her Dad plays slide guitar on this) and at one point they lived in a bus in a semi arid area called the Nullabour Plain, catching rabbits for dinner.. They put this video together with all the video taken by the people in the audience.. Goosebumps is called "Frisson" and not everyone gets it from music etc.
Love Love Love Your reaction to this. Especially your actually SEEING her drained at the end! Many reactors simply miss the impact this performance has on Kasey herself!!
And a very large number of reactors don't both to watch the whole time, being busy drinking (what is that all about? - very irritating) and poncing around looking at theselves. Not all, but a hell of a lot. Really appreciate your approach. Another good song that I can't see anyone has mentioned is "Not Pretty Enough" Cheers from Dayboro, Queensland, Australia!
Apparently Eminem has heard this version and liked it so much he waved copyrights. It's available on Spotify, iTunes etc so more than likely true story. Great reaction!! Much love

@@MrsRealistic I'd heard that he was a (K)rap singer (don't forget that silent "K") and as such I have not chosen to follow his music. Kasey Chambers is an Australian legend: the youngest person to be inducted into the Australian Music Hall of Fame, a dozen albums and has more than 30 ARIA Awards (the AU Grammy's). She is beloved but is ignored by radio and was shunned by Sony. She's been performing in her father's band since she was 12 years old (her brother is backing vocals and her dad is on the steel guitar on stage here). She had some pop hits in the 90s but her heart and soul is Country in her own style. She wanted to commemorate the 20th anniversary of this song because she loves Eminem, and she had the time to rearrange and compose this masterpiece during lockdown. She is showing so much emotion because she has lived this to a degree as well. She is now 48 years old and a mother of three. This recording is the first time it was ever performed live and was done at the end of the concert. They thought it went well, so they used the recording from the sound desk and asked their fans who were in attendance to provide any footage they had to composite this one together. While there has been no public approval from Em, she has been allowed to put this song up on Spotify without challenge.
She went on Facebook to have fans send in their cell phone videos for the visuals for the video. She grew up playing in her family ‘s band and has had her own for 25 years.
I am so happy to see this start blowing up all over youtubes reaction circles. This version really captures the pain, and despair of the lyrics. I been watching this since back in November of last tear. I have begged many reactors to react to this. So happy to see her getting her flowers cause this cover is AMAZING. I hope her and Em do a colab. "has Eminem seen this?" is a common question at the end of reactors reaction vids of this. Loved our reaction.
When I first came across her version here, I didn't know what I was listening to... it took a while for it to click Mindblowing soulful song presentation there.
Your reaction was like holding a mirror up to my own. When I first listened to this a month or so ago, I was so blown away. When she screamed out the "....failure's not!!" part I literally starting whooping with joy. So much so, that my son ran into my room asking what was going on :D. This totally made me tear up too. This reaction earned you a sub from me :)
The man on Slide Guitar is her Pa and the guy who did guitar a and solo vocals is her older brother.. Think this was the last time she played live with her father ❤
Just a little trivia for you,,,. that's her father on Slide/steel guitar... how can someone from a small family band "The dead Ringer Band" do such an epic job on this.. song easy Just ask Kasey Chambers to sing it. EPIC. When she turned solo, she did have some trouble getting airplay on the major radio stations, but then she wrote a song "Am I Not Pretty Enough" and things chsnged for the better in my opinion. "Rattlin' Bones'' was my fav Kasey song, until I heard this and I'm a really OLD BLOKE (almost 83). Really enjoyed your reaction Thanks....
This clip wasn’t planned after her performance she had calls for a video so put out a call for audience members to send her any footage from the concert performance. This was put together from that footage. Kasey is categorized as country but is eclectic in her musicality and sings really she defies genres!❤ She has a huge amount of respect here in Australia and has been inducted into the Australian Music Industry’s Hall of Fame ❤Try The Captain next for her original music ❤
Kasey grew up as a contemporary to Emininem. She had real struggles with the Australian Country Music scene not taking her seriously as an artist & wrote [as others have said] "Am I not Pretty Enough". I'd heard her on the radio after that song on occasion, but still not the recognition she deserved. It is her Dad on slide guitar and during C-19 when tours were shut down she had lots of time to work on this as a pet project, and her Dad was her sounding board. So glad she got to put this to music and show her heart-felt interpretation of some great lyrics!
@@MrsRealistic hahahaha. You made me stop and think where I got the term from and then I remembered… they were a highly successful male stripper team. They even toured the USA. They didn’t go full Monty. They were more about fit bodies and dancing.
She stood up infront of a live audience and took on the best rap song of all time, with nothing initially but her own voice and a fkn banjo, and smashed into oblivion. Imagine the balls that takes.
Thanks so much for such a great reaction. Liked Subscribed. Kasey is much loved here in Australia. She is a big fan of Eminem and I believe she had to get his permission to include this on her album. So I hope he actually saw this performance. Kasey slowly telling his horrific story and then showing all the emotion one would feel (Had my hand on my heart and tears in my eyes too) The her anger kicks in and wow!! Brilliant! Hi from Australia

She is an absolute gem. 'Ain't no Little Girl' - live At The Bluegrass Underground is another great one or alternatively The Luck sessions Version Always check out her live stuff just the passion is palpable.
Check out her vocal techniques here! Soft voice, head voice, chest voice, Irish keening, yodeling and growling! That in one person is freeking amazing!
She is a folk / country veering to rock artist. She is Australian- much lauded there. She had trouble getting airtime early in her career. IShe had been wanting to cover this for years- the lockdown gave her time to create this arrangement.
I was at Kasey's first show on this tour, a few weeks before this performance. It was the first night she played this amazing rendition of this song. and it was not played at the end of the show or for shock value.
it was the 17th show of her Behind the Barricades tour & she'd played it at every other show - the audience were expecting it & told it was about to be played & recorded live at the desk - THAT'S why they seem subdued - they'd been asked to keep it down to a minimum for a clear take.
Mrs msr... Sorry for my bluntiness... i´ve met trough ren... i´m glad you´ve reacted to this outstanding performance... so many layers ( emotions)added to those lyrics that could stand alone without any music... great rendition that praised the genius writing of one of the greatest of our time... love from portugal... take care...
I read somebody else comment that Eminem approved this song to be published on Spotify. I was so glad to hear he came across this. I know people tweeted at him, so perhaps through there. Either way, absolute gold. Loved this, thank you for watching this with us!
Thanks for doing this one! This gives me chills every single time I hear it. Kasey going from that resigned, laid back approach early in the song to the fighting emotion later is beyond powerful! 💪🏼 Kasey is very under appreciated and needs to be recognised more on an international scale! Kasey is a master of storytelling, conveying lyrics and emotion! She is an icon in the Australian music industry, mostly for country and folk, but has her own style and is never afraid to delve into something outside the box. She is just getting better as she gets older. I really hope that Eminem has seen this and appreciates that his song and lyrics were re-imagined in such a spectacular way. I guess he has, as he did give her permission to upload to Spotify etc. Would really like to hear what he thought about it though. Where else would you see head-banging with a banjo, steel guitar and rock band together? Kasey started her solo commercial career around the same time as Eminem and she was a big fan of his music. From what I understand, Kasey spent lockdown playing around with some of her favourite songs and this version of Lose Yourself is the result. Brilliant! Kasey has spent her whole solo career bucking the constraints of the record companies and always gone her way. She made it to the top in Aussie music anyway with many awards, becoming the youngest ever ARIA Hall of Fame recipient. BTW….how was that for breath and vocal control? Not to mention the awesome arrangement. ❤ Also, that was Kasey’s Dad, Bill, on the steel guitar and her brother Nash on lead guitar and backing vocal. Full kudos to Eminem for his songwriting. Personally, the reason Kasey’s version affects me so much is all down to the fact that she did lose herself in the music, the moment during this performance. Kasey kept the cadence but slowed it down, even in the full rock part. She is a true blue Aussie who will leave her soul bared on stage every single time. ❤ The video was a montage from the audiences phone vids… deliberately done to make it a more intimate experience.
It's NOT Nash - it's Brandon (Dingo) Dodd - her longtime guitarist. The footage wasn't deliberately done - her team recorded the audio at the mixing desk & when they realized what an amazing vocal performance they had - they were kicking themselves for not filming it - THAT'S when Kasey put the call out for fan phone footage
I’m glad you liked Casey. She is 47. The guy on guitar and doing backup is her older brother Nash and the man sitting down to her right playing steel guitar is her Dad. She is known as a country singer. This is her band. She worked on this cover during lockdown in 2020. This is a great cover. I think the video was filmed by members of the audience.
It's not Nash - it's Brandon (Dingo) Dodd - her guitarist for the last 6 years. The audio was recorded at the mixing desk (as they'd planned) but they realized after listening to it back that they should've filmed it - that's when she put the call out to fans.
Hi there , Thanks for a great reaction to Kasey . She absolutely knocks this song out of the park 😊. If u wanna drop into the Aussie rabbit hole try John Farnham -Help with Melbourne symphony orchestra. This is a Beatles cover that he makes his own . Every Aussie luvs Farnsey 😮
I've heard that Eminem gave her permission to release this on Spotify, so he must have heard it. My guess is that she wouldn't have been able to do that without his permission. "Ain't no Little Girl", live or recorded, both great.
Kasey is 47. Read her backstory. She fire and this is simply breathtaking. Proud Australian here. I'm 65. I know when I hear à masterpiece.also, Eminem has heard this and given permission for it to be put up on Spotify. Kudos to him
Absolutely! I'm so glad he was a stand up guy! She's fabulous and I feel so lucky to have been introduced to her! If it weren't for the agonizingly long plane trip...I know I would have visited your gorgeous country a long time ago! My mum has been and just loved it! God bless you 🙏
The fact that was not recorded from her team is wild… all of the video footage has been produced by fans etc… he has seen this and further gave her Spotify privileges to ensure she gets her just deserves…. Also she is magnificent in her own right
Awesome you covered this.!!! Nails it! You might be interested in Jake Kohn, Frostbite. The version where he is standing in the woods. The sound is really good on that version. He is 15 and sings like he's a heartbroken 40 yr old chainsmoker. Amazing! (Unless of course you've already covered him). He's as impressive as this kasey cover..... Glad to see you back after so long. You must have a life., Lol
He's got several self written songs. He's going to be a big star. Has a half million hits in the song I suggested. Being so new higher numbers come a little slower at first. Should be in the millions very soon. I haven't seen a single reactor get past the first verse without pausing and staring at the camera. Fun to watch.... Tks.
I would recommend watching her hit single from the 3rd album, titled "Not Pretty Enough"; this song is a commentary on the reluctance of commercial radio stations towards playing her music, even though she has had successful hits and albums.
She’s 46 here and she’s an Aussie veteran has had dificult professional start and a difficult divorce & is now a single mother so she can relate to this song a lot. This was an encore for her regular country show. They only realised on playback of the recording how phenomenal it was so she put out a call out to the crowd for crowd footage which is why it’s not great visuals it’s all phone footage. It’s also available on Spotify now so someone on Eminem’s team has seen it because she had to get the rights to put it on Spotify
Fantastic. I think I saw and heard some slide guitar as well. I've never heard this artist either. I'd love to to know what Eminem thinks of this. I bet if he's aware of it (which I'm sure he is) that he thinks it's fantastic as well. Thank you for another enjoyable reaction.
@MrsRealistic This was incredible. I'm learning of new artists from video reactions as well, which up until a few months ago, I didn't even know video reactions existed. They just started showing up on my wall one day. Ren captivates me the most so far, but this performance was stellar. She was brilliant. I think one of the many reasons Ren and the other artists we're discovering and are captivated by is because we live in a world where everything is digital or computer generated. Suddenly, we have real people making great music with wonderful messages again. We were starved for the human element in music that's been missing for decades now. For me, at least, I forgot how much I missed that human touch in the music. There is no need to respond. You were generous with your time before. I'm just blabbing for whoever cares to read it.

I absolutely LOVE your reaction. Kasey is a true blue legend here.
Yes, this is pretty epic!
Best cover I've ever seen and I'm nearly 60!
I'd have to agree with you on that one!! 👍😊
Wow, what a great story. I wish I had been taught to play as a kid!
Now that would be pretty epic!! Wow, I would love to see that! She's really amazing... she deserves the recognition!!
Love her to do this at the Grammys Ha absolutely jaw dropping ❤️❤️❤️
That would be the best act of the whole night!
When I first came across her version here, I didn't know what I was listening to... it took a while for it to click Mindblowing soulful song presentation there.
It sure is!
Thank you so much! I told my hubby he had to react to this one too! The kids haven't heard it yet either!
The man on Slide Guitar is her Pa and the guy who did guitar a
and solo vocals is her older brother..
Think this was the last time she played live with her father ❤
How awesome to play with your family!
It's not Nash (her brother) it's her longtime guitarist/backing vocalist Brandon (Dingo) Dodd
Casey's the real deal 🇦🇺
I feel the same way!! 🙌
Thank so much for your comment!! I appreciate it 🙏
This clip wasn’t planned after her performance she had calls for a video so put out a call for audience members to send her any footage from the concert performance.
That's fantastic! She deserves the accolades! And what a neat way to make a video...I had thought it might be cell phone footage!
I found myself Feeling Old , Emotional and successful at one time. Mind blowing she almost took it from him ICONIC song and Cover. Great Reaction
Yes she sure did! Thank you!
Kasey’s life struggles are not too different from Eminem’s .. ❤ I think you’d love her live performance of Ain’t no little girl..
I'm looking forward to hearing more from her! Thanks for the suggestion!
@@MrsRealistic Yep, 'Aint no little girl' is a good next step.
@@brettbridger362 Thank you!😁
Kasey grew up as a contemporary to Emininem.
It was amazing. I'm hoping this gets her the recognition she deserves!
I hope Eminem watched this and cried like I did 😭😭😭
Kids what do they know. Your Cool 😎. Great reaction. Peace ✌️
You're right... kids don't know much 😆 I think my kids know we're cooler than a lot of parents. 😉👍
Thunder from down under. 😍🇦🇺
I think of something else when you say that 😆
@@MrsRealistic hahahaha. You made me stop and think where I got the term from and then I remembered… they were a highly successful male stripper team. They even toured the USA. They didn’t go full Monty. They were more about fit bodies and dancing.
@@Laraine3 Yup! 😄 Super hot, fit guys!
good comment good reaction very generous from an aussie
Why thank you sir! 😊
She stood up infront of a live audience and took on the best rap song of all time, with nothing initially but her own voice and a fkn banjo, and smashed into oblivion. Imagine the balls that takes.
Bigger balls than a lot of men! 🤣
Thank you! I couldn't agree more... you could feel the emotion through the screen! And a big hello from a Canadian living in Texas!!👋😁
@@MrsRealistic New Sub here. If you’re gonna take on Aussie Music come prepared. It’s a looong rabbit hole of awesome, raw, pure, emotional, magical talent. So grab some Tim Tams and a Milo and enjoy😊❤️🇦🇺 GDay from WA. (Western Australia) not Washington 😆. Take care and stay safe. Fun Fact: WA is around 3x the size of Texas. Watch her performance of Ain’t No Little Girl from the ARIA awards ❤ great reaction
It's on the list! 😁👍
She is an absolute gem.
'Ain't no Little Girl' - live At The Bluegrass Underground is another great one or alternatively The Luck sessions Version
Always check out her live stuff just the passion is palpable.

Check out her vocal techniques here! Soft voice, head voice, chest voice, Irish keening, yodeling and growling! That in one person is freeking amazing!
I just ADORED it!
Lovely reaction, thanks for doing it 😁
Thank you so much!
Loved the journey😊
what a great reaction 😊
Thank you!! 😁
Epic.
She is a folk / country veering to rock artist. She is Australian- much lauded there.
She had trouble getting airtime early in her career. IShe had been wanting to cover this for years- the lockdown gave her time to create this arrangement.
I KNEW IT!! 😆👍
I was at Kasey's first show on this tour, a few weeks before this performance. It was the first night she played this amazing rendition of this song. and it was not played at the end of the show or for shock value.
@@bundy10409 Thank you for that info! I love hearing the back stories!
it was the 17th show of her Behind the Barricades tour & she'd played it at every other show - the audience were expecting it & told it was about to be played & recorded live at the desk - THAT'S why they seem subdued - they'd been asked to keep it down to a minimum for a clear take.
@@stanroach2842 thanks for the info.
Thank you so much! God bless!
Sometimes you just need to stop and listen, experience and enjoy without judgement
You are way cooler than your kids. As they say, youth is wasted on the young. 🤗
😆 Well, I was cool once upon a time. I hope my kids still think I am. I try 😉
Great reaction!
Thank you!! 😁
I read somebody else comment that Eminem approved this song to be published on Spotify. I was so glad to hear he came across this. I know people tweeted at him, so perhaps through there. Either way, absolute gold. Loved this, thank you for watching this with us!
Yes, it's awesome he did that! And thank you for joining me!!
Beautiful reaction.
Thank you!
She's an amazing artist to be able to make this cover rock as much as the original... or dare I even say, maybe harder! 🙌
I think we all got emotional hearing her sing this song. She's AMAZING.
Yes she is!
Oh yeah
I’m glad you liked Casey. She is 47. The guy on guitar and doing backup is her older brother Nash and the man sitting down to her right playing steel guitar is her Dad. She is known as a country singer. This is her band. She worked on this cover during lockdown in 2020. This is a great cover. I think the video was filmed by members of the audience.
It's nice to hear music by someone my age (I just turned 48)!
It's not Nash - it's Brandon (Dingo) Dodd - her guitarist for the last 6 years.
The audio was recorded at the mixing desk (as they'd planned) but they realized after listening to it back that they should've filmed it - that's when she put the call out to fans.
The video was taken by audience members - they were asked to send in any phone videos taken at the concert and that's what been used as the video
That's super unique! What a great idea!
Amazing rendition. Thank you 🔥
Thanks for listening!
Yeah, wow. Hadn’t heard this yet. Glad I decided to click and not scroll by your reaction video. That was insane.
Well thanks for joining me! 😁👍

I love the Beatles! Thanks for the suggestion!
@@MrsRealistic you will luv John also after watching this clip
I've heard that Eminem gave her permission to release this on Spotify, so he must have heard it. My guess is that she wouldn't have been able to do that without his permission. "Ain't no Little Girl", live or recorded, both great.
That's awesome! Good for him! I've gotten a few other requests for Ain't no little girl, so I'll have to look it up! Thanks!
@@MrsRealistic I recommend this one (Ain't No Little Girl) ua-cam.com/video/CK4hFr_3rVw/v-deo.html
Interesting fact the slide guitar player is Casey's father. She grew up playing in her fathers band.
Oh how cool! Thanks for that info! Both my parents play guitar, but never taught me.

No doubt!😁🤙

Em gave his permission . He ADMIRED HOW SHE RE-DID THIS GREAT SONG .CHASEY DID THIS THING!!!!!
That's so awesome! She deserves it!
His new stuff is a mature Marshall. ❤
Em gave her his permission because the way she put it together. Em ADMIRED THE SET UP from her
The fact that was not recorded from her team is wild… all of the video footage has been produced by fans etc… he has seen this and further gave her Spotify privileges to ensure she gets her just deserves…. Also she is magnificent in her own right
It's really cool how they got everything together like that! I think it's also great that Eminem did that for her!
Great reaction. Subscribed. 😊
Awesome thank you! 😊🙏
Haha! Yes, life happens when you're a stay at home mum to 3 kids 😆 Thanks for the suggestion as well. I haven't heard of Jake Kohn!
Thanks for that suggestion! 😊
Go Aussie!!
I had heard that... it's so cool that everyone put their own cell phone footage in! She's got an amazing energy!
The video is a compilation of cell phone footage from the audience that she requested and edited
Fantastic. I think I saw and heard some slide guitar as well. I've never heard this artist either. I'd love to to know what Eminem thinks of this. I bet if he's aware of it (which I'm sure he is) that he thinks it's fantastic as well. Thank you for another enjoyable reaction.
I bet he does! Any artist should be able to appreciate another's amazing work like this!
I'm just blabbing for whoever cares to read it.
from what i herd a friend brought it to em's attention they watched it ,after it was over em got up left the room no comment
