@@ShadowAussie - as an Aussie, I am well aware that Newcastle is a city in NSW! Was just a stupid thing where my typing doesn’t keep up with my brain and words get mixed up. 🤷🏻♀️🤭😂
Not only did Eminem hear it but he let Kasey monetize it. The really cool part is Kasey didn't film this.. after the performance she put out a request to anyone at the concert, if they had footage she could use. She pieced this together from their videos. This was the encore performance so ya, this was the last song of the night.
Em doesn't own the rights, so he can't 'give permission'. It's still only an urban legend with no one yet being able to provide a citation that he's heard it. Even Kasey in an interview has said that she doesn't know if he's heard it or not. Pretty much anyone can 'monetise' a cover if they pay a fee to the rights holder, which in most cases is NOT the artist. Music has been like this for decades.
Eminem didn’t give Kasey permission to monetize her version…..his record company did! We have still had no personal reaction from Em to Kasey’s version, even almost 2 years later!
I skipped over her cover so many times until I watched a reactors video of it and was blown away!! She totally owns this song, like Johnny Cash with Hurt.
Good comparison - she brings out the deeper pain of the song that the original artists style didn't really allow for. It was always there but rap and industrial dont allow themselves to convey subtler emotions well - they are relentless and driving and sorrow or fear aren't bythere nature well suited to that sort of driving tempo. The originals are great and the covers actually highlight just how great the songwriting is in both cases.
It was apparently announced that night that they would be recording the track (which is why the audience was fairly silent), but they didn't do a video, so Kasey put out the call for audience videos & this was built by mixing the videos taken by the fan. Kasey is one of the top Australian Country artists and wears her passion on her sleeve.
How amazing is this? It hits you on a viseral level. Apparently Kasey worked on this during Covid lockdown. She is a huge fan of Eminem and a truly masterful musician. What a work of art. And how about that shredding that banjo? Everyone knows Em's Lose yourself. This is not to be compared. They are both masterpieces in there own right. This version will haunt me forever!
As an Australian we are proud of Kasey Chambers and her genius. She began in the genre of Country and Western, but explores many other genres. (Also, check out the keyboard player having a blast throughout the 3rd verse. They're going off)

Kasey Chambers is an accomplished Australian country music singer-songwriter, who has won multiple awards and accolades for her 12 studio albums and her singles releases; she started her career in a family group called Dead Ringer Band, along with her father Bill, mother Diane and brother Nash. Kasey is a huge Eminem fan, and during Covid she reworked Eminem's rap song; creating an entirely emotive approach, such was the song that she was given permission to upload this performance to Spotify in it's own right. Through her career and life, she has faced many trials and tribulations; in 2001 Kasey released a track from her 3rd album titled Not Pretty Enough, it was a commentary on the reluctance of commercial radio stations towards playing her music even though she was hugely popular and successful. Please enjoy another great Australian artist.
As far as powerful voices in Australia where Kasey is from try John Farnham to warm up his voice he would sing Black Dog by Led Zeppelin one of the most powerful Australian singers . And if you like different styles on a cover try Help (originally by the Beetles) John makes it his own

II want to clarify something. The reason there were no lighters/phones out is because we, the audience were so mesmerised and in shock over what we were hearing. There were tears.
Dad is slide guitar. They were The Dead Ringer Band. She went solo. Nobody would play her songs. She wrote Am I Not Pretty Enough as a big fuck you to the radio stations. It became number one & played on every station in the country.(Check it out) She is a big Eminem fan, & this song resonates with her. During the Chinese Virus lockdown she rearranged the song. She has become one of Australia's most awarded singer/songwriters.
Good reaction, thank you. Just one maybe two comments - you mentioned her passion. It is a common thread in Aussie music which is obvious in her music. Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham display the same passion. JB with 'Stone Cold'. JF with 'Help' The must see JB & JF together with 'When Something Is Wrong With My Baby'. As for KC there's 'I Ain't No Little Girl', 'Not Pretty Enough'. Passion? you need to meet more Aussies mate.

Great!!!! Thanks for your reaction, I back in hospital again and things like this help me from going insane 😂
Try some New Zealand metal like Alien Weaponry - Kai Tangata
Shihad -My Minds Sedate!
Kasey is a MUSICIAN....there's a reason EM sanctioned this version...and THIS alone. Love ya work mate.?..
Her Dad is playing the slide.
❤💥
I hear that Eminem also does a version of this song.
Great reaction…..
Look closer at her vocal talent & checkout her song , “I ain’t no little girl”
Lighters hell bud, Welcome to Brilliant bud!! Stop slicing and enjoy some great ingenious well performed music bud. You only get one shot!!!!!
AU is not a state... It's a Continent. 🤨
That was Kasey in the moment.
Open your mind man.
II want to clarify something. The reason there were no lighters/phones out is because we, the audience were so mesmerised and in shock over what we were hearing. There were tears.
Love this cover
Nice reaction 😎
edit to add, please 🙏 react to Ren, Hi Ren .. fucking A
Dad is slide guitar.
Agreed. I love watching reactors see Farnsey for the 1st time, esp ones that are vocal coaches.
