    You make great content man, great editing, clean transitions, subtle background music. What really attracts me to your channel is the fact that you can afford the "higher end" equipment but you don't exude this kind of "just pick this up at your local pro shop" mentality, your humility in the way you display these products and your experience is refreshing. If I had one criticism it would be to put out more content, finish the 2020 bow face off (add a hoyt axius ultra maybe) and stay as humble and real as you have been. Keep it coming man, great shit!

    Thanks for another great video Brandon. I shared with some friends on Facebook because I’ve never been so impressed with the quality of content you share...it’s like I’m rooting for you!!!. Your content for someone like me who has been out of touch with all the new gear is helpful, overwhelming at times, but helpful nevertheless. I shoot a 2000 Golden Eagle, which at the time in my life I had no kids and had money, it was top of the line. Then life, family and work took priority and my love for archery had to take a back seat due more to lack of funds than anything else. But after watching your videos you’ve convinced me it’s now time to try to set aside $20 a month for an upgrade. At that rate hopefully in a few years I can get a new bow and arrows because I’m in desperate need of a makeover. I share your passion for the sport so your videos allow me to live vicariously in your world if only for 15 minutes here and there. I just wish I had found you sooner to get in on your bow giveaway. What an amazing gift you made...BRAVO!
    I hunted this afternoon and had 7 does and a nice 8pt near my stand at around 70yds, but I can only shoot out to 40yds comfortably/ethically, which is frustrating watching you drive tacks at 120yds. Wow!!!.. Keep the content coming and keep it real.
    Can I suggest try using some drone footage so I can see you shoot from up above. Just a different perspective I noticed one of the fishing channels I watch is now using. It’s gives really cool angles to watch the action from. Thanks Brandon!

      Sounds like you've got a plan. Is it possible for you to do anything else to make more money to speed the process up? More education to get a raise, a new position altogether etc? Anything laying around you haven't used you'd want to sell? Just seeing if you can get there quicker.

    That was a nice session. My thought is that later on, you embraced what the shot was, and then thought about what happened. As opposed to the first round where you tried to make adjustments based on one result. Nobutadu in "The Last Samurai" said, "...too many mind." And, Dan Aykroyd said (as Sigmund Freud), "Sometimes a banana is just a banana. Anna?" Set up, execute. Set up, execute. Don't chase a single wrong answer, learn from repeated mistakes. Great job on both fronts. I look forward to every update!

    I focused on pin float which looked like on the Traverse was similar to the Prime in the last video. I was given a heads up on the lens on my new Black Gold 1 pin sight. I ordered the 4X since the 2X isn't much difference than not having 1 @ all. When I had right elbow tendinitis 2 years ago for the 7th time ( played competitive tennis) i had 2 draw that way with a strap on forefinger release. Hiwever I did a DIY rubber tube for me 2 grip or I couldn't draw. Now I'm back with the Stan this afternoon shooting in the snow. Must be nice having leaves. We might be months away @ this point.

    Curious as to why your camera floats so much when mounted to a tripod with zero wind. I know very little about photography but very interested in getting a camera that can do slo-mo arrow flight but that seems almost impossible if there is that much float with zero wind variable.

    • @brandonmcdonald6121

      That specific camera is a canon 80d with a Tamron 18-400 lens. It's not at all the setup I recommend for slomo videos. Some of the camcorders have really good slow motion and are much more versatile than that camera and lens. The only thing I can think is, it's a stabilized lens and when it's zoomed all the way out to 400 its got something wierd going on.

      Lots and lots for almost 10 years now. I usually shoot 60-80ish arrows in a session. I did have the second camera on a big zoom which is why you can see the motion. Can't complane about the 120 grouping HELL most of the groupings warn't bad I heard the Cam draw hint , well watch Chris Bee draw . I use both arm's to start the draw with the bow pointing at or VERY near the target . about 1/2 way back on the draw i use me release arm to pull the rest of the way Most of the draw is done through my chin , shoulder down , four-arm up and hand through the chin to back of the jaw Do all your bows draw , anchor the same ?
    You look like you have a few bows (I only have three two that i use) One of my bows has .010 pins I REALLY LIKE THEM you can see what your shooting you just my have to use a sight light AND REMEMBER TO TURN IT OFF BE FOR YOU PACK YOUR BOW AWAY !!!!
    I have subscribed and enjoy watching your video's maybe not the hunting ones for me (i'm not a hunter) You said you where going to do more JUST SHOOTING video's keep them coming Tim Bitts

      Ive got some ideas to get the draw a bit better. I'll do some comparisons and see how it goes. I wonder how it'll effect my time at full draw as well.
      I bought 5 bows this year to test out and see which one I liked the best. Ill only keep one so I won't be bouncing around much.
      I think I want a 35" thats more of a 3d setup that I always leave setup and dialed in. My Black Gold's bottom pin is a .010. Ill be curious how my 4x lens and the black gold improves groups

      @@brandonmcdonald6121 WOW thanks for the VERY quick reply . Do to my draw length i'm unable to shoot a lot of different bow's (25.5)
      I did get to shoot a HOYT RX-4 the draw was very nice and super dead in the hand (bear bow) I'm a Bowtech guy BTX-28 and a n SR-6
      65 lbs and 70 lbs both on comp mode The draw's on both are aggressive but the BTX's has VERY LITTLE BACK wall And i like the draw on them both I like the distance shooting big time The SR-6 was to be a 3D bow but even at my draw length it barres the arrow But at 60+ yds Man can it shoot i can some times get to shoot passed 100 when the range is empty If you do a draw video do some slow mo in it so we can watch it close WAITING AND WATCHING Tim Bitts

      Shoot inside! Seriously, blind bale inside. I've been doing some of it and it seriously helps.

      Sadly I dont ha e a target, but I have been blind bailing at home, but without letting the arrow go.

    Why is cam Hanes draw cycle incorrect? I draw my bow the same way. But good shooting!!

    • @brandonmcdonald6121
      @brandonmcdonald6121  4 роки тому +1

      It's complicated, but ideally you want more efficient movement which is, less movement. If you can repeat it, and it doesn't hurt, it doesn't matter all that much. Just for me, it's not exactly what I want my cycle to look like.

    Good shooting. I wouldn't say your draw is wrong. Watch some of Griv's stuff, or, Come to think of it, I think Chris Bee just did something about drawing.

      Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check them out. I need to stop the bow from dipping below the target and coming back up. Wastes time. I don't think I'll ever have that big follow through but I've got to focus on that part of my shot more.

    Only about half way through video and I do think you have a ghost behind the camera. Do you ever practice shooting from your knees? I ask because on your black deer hunt you had to and I would figure and spot and stalk situations shooting from your knees would most likely be a shot that you would have to take.

    • @brandonmcdonald6121
      @brandonmcdonald6121  4 роки тому

      Yes i do, but not enough. I also practice open bodied and sitting. Open sucks. Changes everything.

      Brandon Mcdonald yeah all of the what if situations are tough to account for and practice when you are trying to focus on the perfect scenario which will most likely never happen unless you are a ninja. I do appreciate all the videos which show the good and the bad. The best way to learn is to fail and learn from mistakes. Iron in all the good and weed out the bad

      Brandon Mcdonald looks like a twist counter clockwise from what I can tell in the video, before almost every shot you tweeted it to line it up, I did that all last hunting season, and was so happy when my pro shop asked me why I kept doing that, they aligned it, now one less thing to think about before each shot.

      @@brandonmcdonald6121 If you have a silencer in your string, just put it in a press and slide your silencer up or down a little bit to twist your string, that should help line it up. If not, then you can adjust your D loop so that when it pulls the string it twists it a little bit and that can help but it will sometimes move over time. Nice shooting though, very impressive. I am working on 90 yds and can hit a 24x24 target, but not with nearly the accuracy you are getting.
