Awesome that Luke took out an AT ST (All Terrain Scout Transport) with the AT AT (All Terrain Armed Transport), in the Adywan Revisited version. Great that the Adywan Revisited has more screen shots with the AT STs and the AT ATs, and a clear background.
Give that AT-ST pilot an award for "Not" seeing the danger and just walking right into it XD But I give big points for showing the AT-ST walkers doing more action parts in the Adywan version and that we also see the AT-AT open its side panels to deploy troopers just like its name sake: All Terrain Armored Transport.
In the old arcade rail shooter, after the retreat is sounded you can do a couple strafing runs on snowtroopers sprinting to occupy the Rebel trenches, and there are also a few shots of them repelling out of the AT-ATs as you engage those. It's pretty cool and gives you a good feel of what a combined-arms assault actually looks like in Star Wars.
Same. It never made sense why Rebel ground troops kept shooting at the AT-AT when they couldn't penetrate or damage the armour. Having snowtroopers and the AT-ST would make more sense.
While I like the display of the might of the Imperial Forces in the Adywan version (with extra models), the practical (non-CGI) effects of the official version are superior.
I like that the Adywan version tries to keep the other AT-ATs on screen in scenes where they weren't, but it also takes away from the blizzard vibes a bit. Also the AT-ST is a vehicle, not an actual living creature or robot, so seeing it look up and try to run away before getting crushed just looks really silly.
The pilots of the AT-ST were doing that. They can only see out of the two viewpoints, so it actually makes sense that they'd hear the enormous explosion next to them and turn to look up at the AT-AT.

The AT-STs in this are unfortunately the wrong version. These are the "standard" AT-STs (from ROTJ), but in ESB, they had a special variant of the AT-ST only seen on Hoth. The main differences are: longer legs, different head shape, closed front flaps. Hopefully this will be corrected in future revisions
there will be no revisions, and the fix was making them look like the rotj ones, the ones used in esb were prototypes and only appeared in two shots or so, they would later be refined in rotj, so Adywan just used the final versions in this.

So the version on Disney+ was originally created 2011 and hasn’t been updated since? Wow, I’m glad we all know that detail now.
Personally I feel the original does a better job to depict the harsh atmosphere and environment of Hoth. There’s so much snow and ice it makes no sense for the sky to be that clear and sunny. The huge blizzard clouds would block out any sunlight pretty well. The original also makes it seem much more gloomy. OG for sure.
much prefer the Adywan color palette over the blu-ray!
