Tell me more about this hatchery feeding time bite. Is that really a thing?

I feel it really is. Sometimes salmon follow different times of the morning and day for bite but I notice it much more with steelhead. Hatcheries usually have feeders run in the mid morning and evening hours. Bites can be triggered at that time
