Suikoden V is really goodt, I love the formation system (and the story of the bad-ass Georg Prime). But Suikoden 2 has certain charms that make it the best Suikoden game for me.
Suikoden was beatiful and the lore holds up to the pervious ones... but that's it, the rune spells and unites where lazy AF and the exploration for hidden itens was really bad and if for not of thouse factor could rally have been the best of the series.
I have a sweet spot for 2D graphics and sprite-based games because they are timeless when done right so II is my personal number one. But V hasn't aged too bad at all.
Philip Roworth imagine how Level-5 could make Suikoden colorful and vibrant like Ni Nu Kuni, there art work similar to Suikoden, they usually make games that involve building up castle which fits perfectly with Suikoden games. All the rune magic can be executed in amazing way just like Level-5 games. Ugh I only wish it can be true ☹️
Konami killed suikoden and lot of their own great franchise IP's. Worst thing not just killed but they not bury or sell that IP's,instead they keep and caged that IP's corpses for themself.
Suikoden 3 was nearly perfect. The problem was that you had to stick your chosen main char with the fire power. If you had separate options for both, it woulda been perfect
Picking Hugo as your Flame Champion made most sense given the other two chaarcters had stronger affinity for the default runes they receive. I feel like Suikkoden 3 was game that made most use of the massive cast, given the different scenarioes you were playing through from different points of view you had a major reason to use more of the characters and gave them a greater chance to shine. The army battles actually factor in how powerful your characters are, so you were rewarded for using more of your characters in those. The customization was great, as you could turn mild mannered Thomas into a powerhouse with the right set up. Suikoden 3 had so many good ideas, why 4 was such a step backwards. I get 3 had some areas to improve upon the ideas given, not revert back to the basics on the original game and throw everything that worked great about 3 out.
@Lastjustice I think 3's was really bad. But I'll give credit to the new skill system and story. 4 was a massive over correction they really mainly needed to just return to controlling all six characters independently in battle rather than the paired system. I would say the replacement for the strategic battles in bother were also terrible
Finally suikoden... Yeah suikoden 2 for me is the best and also the best rpg on ps1... 5 came 2nd... I mean the content on suikoden 2 is amazing... The cooking mini game are also amazing...

My favorite Suikoden games from least favorite to best. Suikoden 4- this one was just very mediocre and felt very basic compared to the rest of the games Suikoden 1- It's still a good game but it certainly has aged. However doesn't change the fact that it has a solid story, good gameplay, and great characters. Suikoden V- I really enjoy this one. They really stepped up after the 4th entry. It takes elements from 1&2 and improves upon the battle system. Everything else about it is just great! Suikoden 3- Three is a personal favorite because not only was this my first Suikoden game, but it introduced three main characters that have different perspectives and outlooks on things. Gameplay is certainly different from the others but it's still a fun battle system. Story is also fantastic and the opening for it is sooo good! Suikoden 2- This game is undeniably one of the best RPGs that I have ever played. The characters are very good, the story is just amazing, and gameplay is fun. It's a beautiful gem of a RPG. Overall, each game in their own right have something that everyone will find fun and amazing. It's one of my all-time favorite RPG series and I only hope they make a collection for newer consoles especially since it's quite difficult to get all of them besides from downloading 1-4 from PSN. I only hope that Konami can somehow get themselves together and bring the series back. :)
@E - Savage can i join you in your crusade? i'm a assasin ninja (insert kage here)waiting in the shadows, and ready to dismember whoever badmouth that masterpiece
First of all, congrats! U deserve way more so keep it up. Suikoden 1 was my first rpg for the ps1. Got it before I got a memory card so I had to play the game a zillion times cause my mom wouldn't let me keep the ps1 on when I slept. The thing that I like most about all suikodens is the music. It is so good. The soundtrack for suikoden 2 is streamable on Spotify. It's the same as the kickstarter soundtrack (which is kicked of course). Keep up the good work!
Followed you from the early early days of low sub's Erick ... pretty awesome to see you with almost 60K now. Grats. Suikoden is one of my all times as well!
Make sure to support the kickstarter for Eiyuuden Chronicle, the suikoden creators are going back together to make a great spiritual sequels to the games we love so much
Hello Erik!!! I never played any Suikoden and I want to ask you a question, do you have to play them in order to understand the story or can I play them in any order like in Final Fantasy?
congratulations on reaching this milestone Erick you deserve it and thank you for this video I recentley started Sikoden 2 and so far it's fantastic now I know which game to pick next
Best to worst: 2, 3, 1, 5, 4 although I love them all. V is marked down for the isometric visuals, IV for the sea navigation. II is the best story-wise, and I love III as I had to wait ages to import it to Europe.
This is mine as well. Glad to see 3 is higher on the list for you and the OP. It has my favorite story and main characters, and I love how everything leads up to war in that one.
You wanna know a funny story? I played the IV, and spend hours trying to found the progress point, right after i get access to ship and random encounters. And around 1 hour are spent wandering to sea and bumping into invisible wall so much that i might have sunk an entire army
Amazing dude! Just figured know how to emulators 😂😂 played s1 and 2 only. Thinking about your review maybe I jump to s5. Kidding. i like the story at all, and the challenges of the game. Tks for the information 🤟
My order would be 2, 1, 5, 3 and finally, 4. I really like the story in 4. Only issue was the random battles triggering every 3 seconds during sea travel lol. All of them are great but Suikoden 2 is one of the best jrpgs ever made.
No need to apologize. V is also my favorite with ll being my second favorite. Congratulations on 20k, brother!!! I joined you when you had about 5k and have been happy to see you get your gifts especially the PS4 and Switch. I was also PISSED when you were demonetized and damn near through a party when you got remonetized as you deserved it. Keep being the man, Erick, and I look forward to seeing you get bigger and reach 50k soon. Take care, brother.
I haven't played 2 yet, but what's the name of that track that you had playing when you talked about it? I've noticed you used it a couple times in other videos, and I can't find it in the ost.
Congratulations for reaching 20k subscribers!!! Mine is in this order (with reason why i placed it on that spot) Top 5: suikoden 3 - the only suikoden game i did not finish cause i did not enjoy the tedious battle mechanics and the trinity sight system. Yes, it made the whole game to have a very unique concept but personally I thought the pacing became slower than what it should have been. Top 4: suikoden 4 - interestingly enough, i liked the ship war battles, but disappointed with the main battle gameplay but I got used to it eventually. Top 3: suikoden 1 - i played this right after i finished suikoden 2 so i guess im biased, comparing the graphics and the story. But it was still a good game. I cried on certain plot points. Top 2: suikoden 2 - played this game a bunch of times, with and without any guides (yeah sometimes i suck at recruiting the SODs). Has a very good straightforward storyline combined with witty comedies and heavy drama plot points, great battle mechanics (all three) and cute graphics. Again, i cried on certain plot points... :p Top 1: suikoden 5 - for me, this was actually ahead of Suikoden 2 plot- and battle mechanics-wise. I do admit that the first part was super slow and the first time i played this i got bored and played another game instead. But when i tried playing it the second time and got to a certain part of the story, things really began to pace themselves accordingly and really enjoyed the plot since. The time i invested in the first part was worth it. I did not really mind the sort-of isometric top view (it kinda reminds me of the suikoden 2, in fact), nor the bland environment, cause the rest of the game was amazing.
5 is my favorite, too, followed by 1. I've played through 1 a few times, and I never found it to be that much shorter than the others. Congrats on 20k. Hope we have reason to see lots of Suikoden videos in the future!
Havnt tried tactics, but it's a sequel to 4. If you have a ps3, all the suikodens except 5 are available for download there, probably cheaper than if you buy a physical cop
Woo hoo! Another Suikoden V admirer! It is my favorite of the five as well, although I love all of the games. That earns you a new subscriber. Every now and then I get the urge to play Suikoden and I usually find myself playing through all of them.
The Grandia HD Collection just came out for Switch. Maybe one day we can have an HD collection for Suikoden. Congratulation on reaching 20,000 subscribers.
Many years ago when the first Suikoden was first released. I spent two years wondering what the next second game would be called if it ever came out. As a child, the best title I came up with was 'The revenge of Suikoden', I did settle with Suikoden II though. Suikoden is more special than what people give it credit for...or is this just my nostalgia.
I’ve been a fan of the series since its initial release and I watch this as I eagerly await both the Remaster AND Eiyuden Chronicles Hundred Heroes later this year. I applaud your courage to pick with your heart knowing the masses would be against you. lol I honestly agree. In terms of mechanics and graphics it was definitely the best. Also as a fan of the whole series, it is hard to not be invested in V as the final installment in a story and world I absolutely adore. By the point of playing V the player has learned all their is to know about the 27 True Runes, their effect on the ancient history of the world, the mystery of the Sindar civilization, the origins of Harmonia and its obsessive, despotic, magic clone exploiting its emperor, and everything else up until the point of its conclusion. I’m kind of hoping that the reactions to the Remaster and the spiritual sequel/half sibling stir up some interest in maybe continuing the series. 🤞🤞

Love the fact that you're confident enough to ignore the popular opinions and state your own! Here's my humble take: 1. II (best 2D) and V (Best 3D) 3. I 4. III 5. IV Tactics
I still think 2 is still the best suikoden ever. though 5 was good, I don't remember the story, but 2? i still remember the story clearly even after 20 few years.
@Erick CoNgRaTs on 20k subs that is enormous and terrific news for you do take some time to celebrate :) for my this was a treat very worthy of your milestone as Suikoden 1 and 2 and 3 are all very very beloved by me and will forever be in my top 75 if not 100 favorite games of all time so this was a lovely thing to see in my sub inbox :).
My rankings 😊: 5. Suikoden 5 4. Suikoden 4 3. Suikoden 2. Suikoden 3 1. Suikoden 2 All of them were incredible, and I can’t wait for them to come out next year remastered!
My worst to best would be 4-3-1-5-2. I just like two the most for the J Comedy and the combo system used was fresh in that entry, Also Nanami, Jowy and Riou's interaction with each other really made for a compelling and emotional rollercoaster of a story. Suikoden is a simple RPG series, but the choices you made really felt impactful. I just heard Konami registered the IP for Goemon. I hope a Suikoden collections is next. I actually had the whole set, but I had to give up my collection to work abroad.
Luca Blight is awesome. The final showdown against him is amazing. You need 3 parties to beat the damn guy and he still don't die. And damn you konami.

I really loved it idk why people hate on it
Hello Eric nice video the first Suikoden 2 so I wanted to see and give other games in the franchise a try.
Finally our wishes come true brothers!!!
Suikoden V is awesome. Guess I'll have to replay it now.
as a fact i started also playing it again. it is cool, but in miss of cool chars. i mean it is just a hand full. the other titles had lots of well written chars. the rest of course is awesome
My favorite Suikoden games from least favorite to best.
Suikoden 4- this one was just very mediocre and felt very basic compared to the rest of the games
Suikoden 1- It's still a good game but it certainly has aged.
Suikoden II was the best, anyone would know it by now
Make Matilda glitch officially a part of any remake as an award for having Suikoden I clear save data and remove time requirement for Clive
@E - Savage can i join you in your crusade? i'm a assasin ninja (insert kage here)waiting in the shadows, and ready to dismember whoever badmouth that masterpiece
No, im not
suikoden 3 and 5 also great
I know this is an older video but I hope you've seen the remasters coming for 1 and 2! I'm so excited
Haha, thanks, buddy.
Followed you from the early early days of low sub's Erick ... pretty awesome to see you with almost 60K now. Grats. Suikoden is one of my all times as well!
Congrats Erick on 20,000. I been a subscriber way back when you had 4,000. It's great to see the best jrpg channel growing.
Awesome, man, that was good to know. It's always nice to see old subscribers still watching my videos!
@@ErickLandonRPG I trust your opinion on this genre brotha and I will keep on watching. Keep it up buddy!! 👊💥💥💥
Make sure to support the kickstarter for Eiyuuden Chronicle, the suikoden creators are going back together to make a great spiritual sequels to the games we love so much
Bold choice putting V above II. I would switch them, but I'm just happy to see someone covering this series. Great video!
Great list. Was a lil surprised you put 2 over 3 as you speak fondly of 3. I honestly havent played suikoden yet but i see so many talk highly of it
Well, I'd say they're tied, 2 and 3, haha.
@@ErickLandonRPG haha thats fair!
Hello Erik!!! I never played any Suikoden and I want to ask you a question, do you have to play them in order to understand the story or can I play them in any order like in Final Fantasy?
Nope. They're all connected because they take place in the same universe, but that's all; it doesn't matter where you start.
congratulations on reaching this milestone Erick you deserve it and thank you for this video I recentley started Sikoden 2 and so far it's fantastic now I know which game to pick next
Thanks, buddy!
Congrats!
Mine, from best to worst: 2, 1, 3, 5, 4.
Especially love playing 1 carrying save into 2.
Thanks, buddy.
Good job at getting 20000 subscribers. Also, good video. Even though I'm not a fan of the Suikoden series, it was a nice video.
Thanks, buddy.
Best to worst: 2, 3, 1, 5, 4 although I love them all. V is marked down for the isometric visuals, IV for the sea navigation.
II is the best story-wise, and I love III as I had to wait ages to import it to Europe.
Exactly the same
'for isometric visuals' ...seriously, man? That's a lame excuse and you know it.
I hated them.
This is mine as well. Glad to see 3 is higher on the list for you and the OP. It has my favorite story and main characters, and I love how everything leads up to war in that one.
3 is utter shite. Sorry.
You wanna know a funny story?
I played the IV, and spend hours trying to found the progress point, right after i get access to ship and random encounters. And around 1 hour are spent wandering to sea and bumping into invisible wall so much that i might have sunk an entire army
Suikoden 2 all the time !! the Best Story and BGM
wkwk ada ko jer di sini
Suikoden 2 bikin gw nangis anjir pas baru2 ini ngulang main lagi pkai emu epsxe di android
Congratulation for 20000 subscribers!
Man... you are really underrated
I like your channel a lot
I hope you continue this great content!
Thank you very much!!!
Amazing dude! Just figured know how to emulators 😂😂 played s1 and 2 only. Thinking about your review maybe I jump to s5. Kidding. i like the story at all, and the challenges of the game. Tks for the information 🤟
The music in 1 is the absolute best of all!
Nice video! Almost same ranking but my number 1 is Suikoden II!!
Grats on the 20k subs!
Thanks, buddy.
My order would be 2, 1, 5, 3 and finally, 4. I really like the story in 4. Only issue was the random battles triggering every 3 seconds during sea travel lol. All of them are great but Suikoden 2 is one of the best jrpgs ever made.
Suikoden 2 is the best period....first one i played nothing else compares to it
No need to apologize.
Thank you!!!
Love this series. Played the first two too many times to count growing up. They were so different than other jrpgs on the market.
So glad there niche channels like this out there, great job man been a long time fan
I haven't played 2 yet, but what's the name of that track that you had playing when you talked about it? I've noticed you used it a couple times in other videos, and I can't find it in the ost.
Congratulations for reaching 20k subscribers!!!
Mine is in this order (with reason why i placed it on that spot)
Top 5: suikoden 3 - the only suikoden game i did not finish cause i did not enjoy the tedious battle mechanics and the trinity sight system.
Top 1: suikoden 5 - for me, this was actually ahead of Suikoden 2 plot- and battle mechanics-wise.
Thanks for sharing!
5 is my favorite, too, followed by 1. I've played through 1 a few times, and I never found it to be that much shorter than the others. Congrats on 20k. Hope we have reason to see lots of Suikoden videos in the future!
Thanks, man. I'd rather not make too many videos about Suikoden since I've covered this franchise to death already, hahaha.
Hey Erick, big congrats on reaching 20k subs!
I completely agree with your ranking and wish you continued success!
Thank you very much!
I only Played 1-2, I might need to try 3-5. Anyone try Suikoden Tactics? was it any good?
Havnt tried tactics, but it's a sequel to 4. If you have a ps3, all the suikodens except 5 are available for download there, probably cheaper than if you buy a physical cop
Congratulations on this achievement, 20 000 subscribers, it's amazing! I think Suikoden 2 has the best soundtrack, don't you think?
Thank you and yes, Suiko2 has best OST.
I'm finally playing Suikoden right now. I am LOVING it. Cant wait to finish it and play 2. Which I also have now!
This is my absolute faveroit video game series. So be nice, I have too much emotional attachment to this series.
Congrats, you deserve it. My favorite is Suiko III. Story was awesome, Caesar is the best tactcian ever and Yuber is really badass lol.
Thank you!
You really need to get bigger. Ur lists are good and Kinda different. Love it. Keep it up!
Thanks, I will. Been looking into new cameras lately!
Been waiting for you to make this video
Congrats on 20k Erick! This is well deserved. Love your channel
Thanks, man.
CONGRATULATIONS ERICK! you totally deserve it!
Thanks, man.
I love suikoden I wish they would make next gen version!
And now Suikoden 1 & 2 are back with a remaster!
Too bad the konami has left the series, and is focusing only on football, one day I hope to return suikoden
Wish granted although it's just a successor game Eiyuden Chronicle
Woo hoo! Another Suikoden V admirer! It is my favorite of the five as well, although I love all of the games. That earns you a new subscriber.
Every now and then I get the urge to play Suikoden and I usually find myself playing through all of them.
guy, i love what you did here today.
i lovvvvve this fucking video!!!
as a player of only suikoden 2 i found this VERY INFORMATIVE
Glad to know you enjoyed it!
The Grandia HD Collection just came out for Switch. Maybe one day we can have an HD collection for Suikoden. Congratulation on reaching 20,000 subscribers.
Thanks, dude!
Congrats on 20K may you get 20,000 more very soon!
Thank you!
Hobbins Gaming you are right
No ppl don't give it enough credit, it slaps
I’ve been a fan of the series since its initial release and I watch this as I eagerly await both the Remaster AND Eiyuden Chronicles Hundred Heroes later this year.
I applaud your courage to pick with your heart knowing the masses would be against you. lol
I honestly agree.
another awesome video erick. i never got into Suikoden, i gotta grabem and try them. start with Suikoden 2 on ps1
Try them out. You will not be sorry!
Agreed, hehe. Every single one of them is worth it.
@@bennettreib Oh I know they are great games. maybe after i finish one of them il do a video on it. Elite Gamers United
Congrats Erick Landon FG to your 20k subs!!
Thank you.
You're welcome, Erick landon Fighting Game
Hey Eric, do you have a list of all the games in your intro?
congrats for 20k subs... keep up with good video bro
Thanks
20k subs to a whopping 100k sub to date, congrats my man!
Congrats on the 20 k followers bro !!
Thank you.
god please give this man more subscribers
congrats on 20k!
Love the fact that you're confident enough to ignore the popular opinions and state your own! Here's my humble take:
1. II (best 2D) and V (Best 3D)
3. I
4. III
Thanks, Michael :)
You deserve 20k subscribers and even more :)
Thank you!
My rankings 😊:
5. Suikoden 5
4. Suikoden 4
3. Suikoden
2. Suikoden 3
1. Suikoden 2
All of them were incredible, and I can’t wait for them to come out next year remastered!
That is the same as my rankings.
1st - Suikoden 1
2nd- Suikoden 2
3rd - Suikoden 4
4th-Suikoden 5
5th- Suikoden 3
By the way in your intro video what game is that after Dragons Crown? It looks like interesting strategy rpg
Spectral Souls on the PSP, dude. It's a GREAT game!
is it worth playing them all? or else where to start? if you can skip someone
2022 and im still in love with Suikoden 1 And 2, and I keep psone CDs
LOL just watched the intro and you said 20k subs. Your at 39.9k now. congrats.
Suikoden 2 is my favourite but 5 is underrated, sometimes I wonder if nostalgia make me choose 2 over 5.
Completely agree! Suikoden V is amazing, and for me was the best. your list is exactly like mine
Yeah, let's not give up any hope of Konami reviving this.
@@ErickLandonRPG wow this aged well... xD
@@ReidyReturn Yes, Konami is going to revive it for Switch 😁
Gratz for the 20k! (my favorite Suikoden is 5 btw haha)
Thanks, Kirika.
Congratz!!!!!! on your 20K!!!!! My list goes the same! keep up my bru!!
Thanks, man!!!
Luca Blight is awesome.
The final showdown against him is amazing. You need 3 parties to beat the damn guy and he still don't die.
And damn you konami.
Komoney*
Congrats on 20k man 👍😊
Thanks, Sven!!!
Hello, how are you, Erick? I love your videos, but most of them can't understand why I'm from Brazil and not only fluent in English, your channel is very good and few people explore this content you do, I would like to ask you if possible In some of your videos if you could put subtitles in Portuguese, congratulations for your channel and success for you, even more.
Wish I could, buddy, but it takes too much time and effort to put subtitles from a language I don't even know. Best I could do is use the caption from UA-cam in English, although it's not ideal, it might actually help.
you broke my heart .I love the Suikoden 4 as no other game and the Suikoden Tactics is me why to go for any tactic game. After this 2 I like the (5 -2-1)I haven't play 3 sorry :)
Omg, I'm actually haven't played suiko 3 too cause my ps2 was broken when I had had the game lol. Going to play it on emu though..
Congratulations on your subscribers! NIN for life!
Yeah!!!! Thanks!!!
I miss the Suikoden series... I always enjoy your commentary and presentation style, can't believe I hadn't subbed yet.
Thanks for subbing, buddy.
