If Blackberry were to release a new Classic for this year in 2024, I honest to God would buy em. It doesn't even have to be different from this old model. Just updated hardware and software, and I'm all good for it.

got the bb passport i used it whenever i go overseas for texting,calls and music.the bluetooth kinda sucks kept disconnecting and stutters so wired music is the fix. thats pretty much it

You can go for BlackBerry Key 2 or if you are insisting being BlackBerry OS then Blackberry passport is the one. It has a way faster processor compared to the blackberry classic.

i remember when i had a blackberry 9900 on its time 13 years ago, whatsapp didn't work because it required a special internet type, some kind of blackberry-internet membership, not any 3G or 4G internet, but you have to ask your phone operator to provide you with blackberry-type of internet, kind of weird

I can vouch for you, happened when I was in Indonesia. That internet service bundle was a mess, they're around until late 2015/16, but that BBM was magical.

We were referring to the old BlackBerry phones not this BlackBerry classic. BlackBerry classic can run on 4G network with no problem.
I use the BB Classic Q20 with BB OS 10 - only with my home and work wi-fi. Only good for gmail, gmail contacts, and google calendar. Hotmail or Outlook will not work. Yahoo Email will not work. I use BB's built in browser and the two websites I peruse without much difficulty is Netscape (like the good old days) and AOL (like the good old days). I use the calendar, calculator, clock, alarm, timer, the Remember task/note app and the camera. I use the Remember task/note app a lot - because you can use the Voice Note feature as well as save pictures in the tasks or notes - very handy for what I do. Graphics intensive websites are too slow to even bother. I have a few simple reference websites for my line of work saved on the Home Screen for quick access. Lastly, I have a 32 GB SD card that I store .pdf files on. Haven't quite figured out how to move music onto the device; but I don't really use any phone for that purpose.

Same here in my country, 120 give or take. If you want to own a BlackBerry phone can go for passport because it’s faster. If you are ok with Android then BlackBerry Key 2.

If you watch the video until the end you will know the answer. It’s not gonna be smooth that’s why in the video I recommended to get the blackberry passport or the Blackberry Key 2 for a better experience.
If you have a passport, key2 or Priv is it just about getting a SIM card through any network or are there limitations?
Passport might have activation issues. Key2 and Priv are both no problem.
I still have a blackberry classic. It’s still takes a charge but it takes a considerable effort for the charge. I think it’s a bad connection at the connector. I have important notes and pictures in it that I would like to extract. How can retrieve those notes and pics to another device. ? Sometimes I take pictures of the screen with my current phone but that is cumbersome.

Update got it to work with giga here in Singapore! Was a pain to go through initial set up but i still get promoted to finish setup so idk what that's about 🥲 looking for apps apk to download is a learning curve for me since im not tech savvy but its still fun to mess with! Im still amazed by the sound quality in calls and when watching youtube via browser its so much clearer than my xiaomi or Samsung 💀 if this phone comes back best bet ima be buying it asap!
I totally agree! It sounds like a bit of a hassle at first, but once you get everything set up, it's worth it. Sound is good but for the maximum entertainment enjoyment, phone with a bigger screen is still better.

Forget about the Google play store, it’s quite a hassle to make it work nowadays. If you insist then you can look up UA-cam, there are plenty of tutorials on that. I’m downloading app from a site called APKpure (mentioned in the video). It’s free and straightforward.

I would say only if you love BlackBerry phone then I will say it’s worth buying. The Blackberry passport will be a better option as it’s faster and smoother. Then again it won’t be 50 dollars.

Nope. WhatsApp stopped the support meaning there is no server to run on those unsupported devices. Without that server, you can’t even send your messages. So, the only option is to use telegram or facebook messenger to chat.
@geogxavier ya if WhatsApp is your deal breaker then no choice have to let go. You can go for the Android blackberry devices if you want physical keyboard and blackberry brand.

It doesn’t support because MiChat is only available for Android devices running Android 4.4 (KitKat) and above. BlackBerry Classic is running on the Android 4.3 (Jellybean) runtime.

Como eu disse antes, basta acessar o site apk como apkpure ou uptodown e baixar o arquivo apk do telegrama. Depois disso, basta clicar no arquivo apk do telegrama que você acabou de baixar e clicar em instalar. Esqueça o Google playstore, ele não funciona mais para blackberry. se você ainda não sabe como fazer, basta acessar o youtube e procurar por tutorial.

WhatsApp ha già chiarito che non supporteranno più il telefono con sotto Android 5.0. BlackBerry Classic ha Android 4.3 runtime. Quindi anche con APK non funzionerà più.

used to have a nokia hand me down that looks like this lol at the time was really expensive to get a blackberry so i wasnt able to get one. hearing that this still works for phone calls and text still works might just get one for a couple of close friends/emergency phone since the battery life is good thanks for the video!
