Very good at explaining everything step by step! I love your videos BMAC! Keep up the good work! I keep post notifications on so I can get to your videos early!
They sound good, but they aren't necessarily the best in terms of quality and clarity for their price. They are punchy and bass-heavy, which is what I like for the gym. I'll likely be posting more videos in the near future to review these and more headphones and earbuds!
I have the exact same headphones(mine is silver) and the right earcup is starting to peel even though I don’t use them that much and I have had them under a year but for some reason, the right one is starting to peel and I was thinking I would have to replace the entire headphones but I’m glad to have seen this video. Thanks so much BMac 😊
Be careful if you have Studio 3 headphones. They're built a bit differently and have a kind of a plastic ring around it behind which the material of the earpiece is tucked in. I broke a small piece of it off. My advice is to cut off the soft part from the top and then take off the rest so you can see where the plastic ring begins and where the adhesive ring is. The simple Studio headphones have their earmuffs basically just glued on the flat surface. Studio 3 are different.
You actually need to take that piece off too. It’s REALLY glued on there. I ripped the small fabric piece and stuck the butter knife in that way from the inside. When you’re done, that small fabric piece comes off too and you’re left with a smooth surface to glue to.
Thank you for the guide! I replaced my girlfriend's ear pads following your video, and they're like new (better in fact, as she picked out the flower print ones and she loves them). She's been using them for a few days now and is overjoyed that she didn't have to buy new ones to fix her crumbling ear pads. I highly recommend this replacement technique to anyone.
Just pulled my old beats out of the case for a recent trip I was about to go on and they were almost unusable due to to the amount of black flakes coming off the cups. Stoked I found this vid, now I can refresh them and be good to go! And now I can do a different color too which would be dope.
Great video! I was very nervous to mess with such an expensive pair of headphones so I really needed to see on video exactly where to pry and how much force is necessary, and you showcased the process perfectly!
I've had mine for about 4.5 years and the coating on the ear pads is peeling like a bad sunburn! (which is kind of funny, since they are red) I had always assumed this was something that could be done, but had no idea it was so easy! I'll definitely be buying new replacement ear pads. Thank you!
Just replaced the ear cushions on my Beats Studio headphones. Did not replacing them was even an option until I watched your video. This was a great video, my replacement went exactly as you described.
Bought a pair of studio Beats at a lost and found sale with worn ear pads for $75. So glad I found your video on how to replace the ear pads! Now they will be like new. Yes!!!!
Best explanation of this. There are so many crappy videos that try to explain this and either go too fast or are in terrible quality. This was the first one that actually answered a question of mine that had me panicking. I had removed the ear cushions but there was still a ring of black plastic on the headphones that kinda looked like it should be there. Turns out it was the seating for the ear cushions that I hadn't removed. I had removed the cushions from the seating not the seating from the headphones! It required some serious and I mean serious elbow grease to remove that seating. Beats didn't spare any money on that original glue!
Do you remember how you got off that seating? I’m having the same issue where I removed the cushion, but now that seating is virtually impossible to peak off since I can’t get my butter knife underneath it
@@ACL42590it might be a little late but I did it by cutting the black foam in the middle and using the butter knife and prying it from the middle instead of the outside. It was way easier than doing it from the outside.
I just used this video as a guide to replace the ear pads on my husbands beats and let me tell you, although it was hell taking the glue off, I felt so much more prepared after watching this and was able to replace them no problem! Great video!!
I honestly didn’t know you could take the whole thing off 😂, I actually thought my headphones were done for. But this video was just what I needed, and I took them off and put the new ones on with no trouble whatsoever. Thanks for this video!
Hello, just a thought. I managed to separate between the plastic edge of the cushion and the foam. Basically I managed to separate the foam part off its plastic rim, so it never looked like the way you showed. Started panicking that maybe I have a fake beats. So whoever out there and might think you only need to remove the foam bit, WRONG! There will be the plastic edge of the foam and the plastic base part that glued together. So you need to pry two plastic bit apart. 😁
@@esraramirez1124 shouldn't be a gap! Double check that you removed everything properly like @evagulas mentioned, and as the video shows. A tip that might help after that is to make sure you apply pressure to the new cushion and the headphones. try putting some books in between or any type of box/package just to solidify the seal with the glue!
I unfortunately took the ear pads off before looking which side was right way up. So i struggled with lining it up for about 15 min before i figured it out. So an easy way to figure it out is at the bottom of both pads there is a line. That is the side that goes down. Great video my friend.
A million thank you's!!..I just received my replacement headphone that I ordered from the link you shared and it was way easier to do than I thought..I was so upset and now I'm so happy :)
thank you for this video and the link where to buy, this has saved me a lot of money lol it was so easy to change, I didn't even bother to use the tool they provided and just used a blunt knife like you suggested and it worked perfectly, I am so pleased!! I have a brand new headphone without the hefty cost :)
The Beats studio3 is a lil more tricky then just slightly pulling up the cup, you can potentially crack pieces of the track underneath along with the cup. I suggest slightly tearing the cup so you can see better how to pull the cup off
For anyone wondering if this actually works, I just did mine and everything seems to be in order. Headphones work, earpieces stay on, and no scratches or anything :) Spent $7 and now my headphones look new. If I were to do anything different, I'd buy more expensive ear pads with pretty patterns or better foam.
I appreciate this video because I spent 40 minutes looking for a screwdriver without opening up the Box and it had a tool right in it!! Everything else from that point on was a cinch.
Thanks for this video. My ear-pads on my Beats Solo are junk but the headphones themselves are fine. Now I know how to replace ear-pads for a cheap and easy fix.
This video really helped me as I was not able to understand how to remove the ear cups, I first thought they will just come out with a normal pull, but they were not budging as I didn't wanted to do any damage I saw the video for help and understood that they are stuck by glue!!! (didn't know that). Thank you for the video and explanation.
Just found the dark blue pads for the dark blue beats studios pros, and they are awesome, the quality feels way better then the originals, 10/10 investment
Wow I can’t believe they still peel ! I’ve not the first beats studios years ago when they came out but they got super messed up on the ear cups . All these years later they still fall apart? Why are we paying for it to fall apart ??
Does the noise cancellation work well on these new ear cups? I am just worried about replacing them and having them not be good at noise cancellation. Thanks!
I have studio 3 beats headphones and the change over of ear pads worked perfectly! My new ear pads are just a tiny bit smaller than the original but the sound is way better and its super comfortable. Thank you!
I never wore my studio beats. They stayed in their case for 4 years. When I took them out recently, they were peeling everywhere! Never even used. so I bought these replacements.
Just replaced them. If I knew this a coue years ago I would have saved quite a lot of money good thing I kept my solo so if my studio die I still have a backup I can repair cheaply.
Just curious, but how much did it cost to replace the ear pads and where did you replace them at? I wanna know how pricy it was to consider getting a professional to do mine or to do it myself.
What are *YOUR* thoughts on this Beat Studio Headphones ear pad replacement process?!

please read this comment from @@lashma01 if you want to do it properly

Those flakes were awful. 🤣
Decided to take mine out and repair them
