Right? My screws were missing. I got new ones to replace them it worked perfect. Now I'm looking for pads to replace and its gonna be good as new! I can use it at least 2 years more I hope.
Okay I purchased form Wicked and mission was a success! I don't use my headphones often and keep them in the carrying case and the cushions stuck together and began flaking big time. A couple pointers: I peeled off the existing cushions with my hands and almost didn't realize their is another glued on plastic ring that comes off. Follow the video for this part and don't do what I did! Second, make sure you line up those dowels when putting on the new pads. I used a shoe box overnight to let the new cushions set. Lastly, make sure you order Studio pads and not Solo pads as they are different sizes. Essentially just watch the video and follow their advice. The new cushions are comfortable and my headphones are back to full capacity!
Thank you for the video, I started based on another one and almost screwed up, your video is so clearn and easy to understand that I could do the change fast, easy and it looks like one just came out of factory :)
Thanks a million! you were so helpful...I didn't dare to start for weeks after I bought my replacement ear pads and was only after watching your video that I got it. Just great :)
Thanks so much! While this is my THIRD pair of replacement cushions for various Beats headphones I've owned, I always seem to forget exactly how to take them off....I appreciate the refresher course! Love your cushions better than any others I've ever tried! Once I found yours, I haven't gone anywhere else. 😊
Thanks for the video! It was helpful! Bought my Beats Studios years ago and while I then used them while workout for a long time there was a few years they weren’t on use and when I took them from the closet I noticed the pads were falling apart. It was super nice to realize there’s new pads these days to change. I’m pretty sure years ago the situation might have been different. Instructions were clear and easy to follow and everything worked out smoothly. Now we just wait for that 12 hours to get them back in use 💖🔥
I saw this video to help me remove the part at 0:36 cuz I was struggling so much with this! Mine was so stuck that there was no opening for me to pry open. So tip if you’re having the same issue as me is to use a blow dryer. That might be simple for most ppl but I didn’t even think of it until I went to Best Buy for help 😢 great video tho!
High quality product! Installing is EASY with your helpful replacement guide video. New customers... PLEASE just watch the whole video. :-) Thank you!!
Great video but one other critical potential mistake to highlight: before removing the foam, the only plastic "base" that may be visible is NOT the base that needs to be removed. I started to insert the butter knife under this plastic ring and nearly destroyed my headphones. In fact, you should insert the butter knife just under the FOAM at first and remove the foam pad. When you remove the foam, the very thin plastic base may actually come off with the foam, and you'll see the adhesive coming off with it. You can see the two different plastic rings clearly at about 2:20 in the video above. If for some reason the thin plastic base doesn't come off with the foam, then you can use the butter knife to separate the thin plastic base from the thicker plastic base (the thicker base is screwed into the headphone body and has the 2 tabs which position the replacement foam properly. Aside from that additional warning, the process was easy and the replacement pads look and feel identical to the original pads--recommended!
Thanks for the great tips! That's a really helpful point about the plastic base and foam removal. Glad the process was easy and the replacement earpads worked well for you!
I just replaced mine from some OG pads from 2013. Let me tell you, the glue was sooooooo hard to get off, I actually had to break the plastic ring in the end. But the operation succeeded without any further complications, and these pads are really nice. I am just amazed that the 11 year old battery is still functioning. Pretty sure that's the next thing I will need to replace down the line.
Oh, I had switch to the metal ifixit spudger to get the remainders of the rings off, in any case someone else runs into that issue. Not as strong as the butter knife, but thinner, so it helps when you can't get the butter knife under the remainders.
I haven't even received my product yet and I know I like this company, very modern and straightforward not many companies take the extra steps to make the experience "special"
great video i was confused with the plastic part as i had only took off the cushion and this video really helped funny enough i had bought the replacement ear pads from this brand and was watching their video without knowing it was the same people i got the pads from great video thanks👍🏼
Removing the plastic base was absolute HELL.. sacrificed a sharp knife I had to use and an hour which resulted in getting a crack on the inside half band of the headphone. The left side pad seemed a bit smaller than it should and now there a small space where the cushion should cover on the bottom of the base
In some cases, the plastic base is going to be a major headache to remove, but in no way should you have used a sharp knife. I have never had to use more than a butter knife (and I have had a situation where the was almost 0 leverage to apply on the plastic base)
Rather than a butter knife, I used a plastic pry tool that gets thicker towards the handle. That made it easier to separate the plastic ring by just pushing in, rather than twisting. It was definitely helpful to use more than just one pry position to get the ring to start separating.
Is it possible to zoom in to show exactly which part of the pad to remove? i have wireless studio headphones 3. There seems to be the foam, plate, then the headphone. Do I just remove the foam, and there is plate under the foam to remove ? or do i remove the plate and foam which I see?
Hey Kelly , you have to remove the old ear pad and the old plastic base like what's on the video using a butter knife. If you need more help, please reach us at cs@wickedcushions.com You can also send us a photo and we will mark it for you and show you what needs to be removed
Thanks to your video, I was able to install my Wicked Cushions properly; otherwise I would likely have left the plastic ring on. Beats headphones are the worst quality product I’ve wasted money on in years! Two snapped headbands, and the original ear pads disintegrated within a year! Fortunately, they are now back to useable condition.
Great video and products, just started to replace the cushions on my Studio Wireless after changing the cushions of my Bose NC700. First side worked perfect on my Beats, but the second adhesive just wont come off right 😅 any tips on how its easier to remove it? Thanks in advance and for ur awesome products.
@@WickedCushions thanks😇, actually got it off by carefully making a small cut into the adhesive. Scraping it off was not possible before the cut unfortunately😅
The screws are not what's keeping the plastic base in place, just trust this guide, the plastic base is not held up by screws. You can see the screws, but they are not for the cushion
is the beats studio pro earpads replacement the same as this? I know you've already put studio pro part of the title... Just need a reassurance... Also if I buy a studio 3 earpads.. Will be fit on a beats studio pro?
Will the gap at the top go away after 12 hrs? It lined up with the dowels, but there is a gap at the top on the non USB side. The seam is on the bottom, etc so not sure if it's a faulty one or not.
You might need to twist it a little, sometimes the dowel does not go in. If there is a gap, something is just not aligned / it could be that the hole is blocked. You can take off the cushion to check and reapply it again, the adhesive is strong enough
I have studio beats, after taking off the old pads, There is a second plastic piece screwed on the the headset, do I need to buy a small screwdriver and remove that or simply lay the pads over it?
Hey, so it is not actually screwed into the headset. You can see the Screws THROUGH HOLES created on that bracket, but that bracket is NOT screwed in, the looks are misleading. You can still remove it, and I actualy show how to do that here.
Question, about the last step Is it really necessary for 12 hours? Just wondering because im actually curious on wether that time can be shorter like 8 hours
The piece of plastic that you can pull off has screws in it for me does that mean mine are fake? And when I take the screws out it leads straight to the inside and does pull the small bit of plastic off
It does not have screws in it, it has HOLES where you can SEE screws through it, but the screws do not hold that piece of plastic. Do not touch the screws
Hey Joe , if you're not sure of your Beats headphone model, please send us a picture of it at cs@wickedcushions.com so we can assist you further. Thank you!
