Always had a soft spot for this game, felt like the natural progression of the world of resident evil. Constant BOW terror attacks slowly grinding down both society and the Player characters.
Honestly, dispite the narrative, I can say that the movement and combat systems were so smooth and stylish. The quickshots, dodge, and slides really made you feel like an action hero
Not too long ago, within the year most likely, my fiance and I binged through every campaign, and for that experience this one will remain one of my favorites.
I really liked resident evil 6 especially with how you have to pay close attention to the stories of our large group of protagonist and see how they all line up together and finish with shocking plot twist and secret revealed
I just love RE so it’s hard not to appreciate each game for what it is. RE6 is a huge book full of chapters that expand the stories for some of the best video game characters ever conceived, and some new ones too.
I like to take games as they are... Resident Evil want's really horror games for me since my first one was RE4... 6 was the best for me, a large game with campaigns putting the pieces together to form a complex, yet interesting story. Also, every story has a different tone/theme: Leon's is more horror with less ammo and darker, Chris' is shoot them up (like RE5), Sherry's have you been hunted by an enemy you can't defeat (like Nemesis in previous games) and Ada's solves the mystery of her other self...
I have played RE way back from PS1, and I myself loved this game and how each campaign would cross over the other, especially Ada's. I was glad I played her campaign last because the impact is much higher seeing she was doing her own thing in a more "behind-the-scene" kind of way all the while looking out for the others.
Not to mention her campaign was the hardest in terms of being on her own literally. Felt rewarding on completing hers too Btw i like some of the Master duel stuff you have on your channel. What's your main favorite deck?
@@eddysegafan6655 wow I never realized people actually watch my uploads. sorry for the late reply. I have never really played YGO before, just learned from playing DL and MD. Seriously though give yourself some credit you have 55k people who have checked out your channel, me included ^^ if nothing else that is kinda impressive! Yeah, I think I’m going to have to watch this one a couple of times! Even with Harry’s impressive talent for figuring out, sorting out and explaining these games, with this one there’s just so much… well, everything really. Still, another great video all the same! I’ll enjoy rewatching it several times trying to keep track of what’s going on!
Hey Harry, I know the game has been out for a long time, and it’s not really a horror title, but I’d personally love it if you covered Control. I find the background lore incredibly deep and interesting (although it can get very confusing, considering how much intel and collectibles there actually are), characters like Doctor Darling are very charming (Darling is one of my favorite video game characters I’ve seen in a long time) and, considering that you’ve covered Alan Wake already, I feel like it’d fit pretty well in your channel
@@nathangreen4539 I’m not proud to admit I spent way more playtime completely terrified, or at the very least heavily unsettled, than I originally expected. Plus, the whole experience is basically “SCP: the game” without actual SCPs, which is a huge plus to me
This is one of my favorite games (I've been introduced to RE completely backwards so that probably doesn't help) but I am so happy you're also doing a video on this. Even after completing the four campaigns I still wasn't sure what was in what order so it's wonderful to see you doing a video on it 💜
this was my first resident evil game which made every single RE that came before and after this game seem like utter complete fkin trash by comparison.
I personally love this game, not a great RE title, but overall a great action game. And playing 7 different views, pretty cool. No, I dig this game, but that's just me.
I love RE6 aswell and was waiting for this video as i found the game... confusing as i haven't found all the emblems yet, only got into this game in the last year or so 😅 Thank you and keep up the great work 😀
I've played, all resident evil titles, just because I fell in love with the OG resident evil series re1,2,3. But growing up playing these games I've noticed they've gotten progressively linear, during that re4, upto revelation, no survival element, the fact that you've got to be on your toes, because you're bullets are running out, you don't have health anymore. All in all, re6, well its a great couch game, and I really like the character of Helena, the moment I saw her appearing I was like yup, she could make it to the main stream. EDIT: Harry please do control, whenever you can.
PIERS NIVANS was such a great addition to the game. The way he kept Chris in check and protected him at all costs is a great teammate and friend. I was so pissed he was killed off. Like Capcom wasted no time with him. It’s unfair. Piers would have made a great addition to the Hound Wolf Squad.
When the whole point of the series is to show that people are selling viruses on the black market for war, of course we will have a game more focused on the actual war. These companies are not going to keep throwing viruses in random houses lol, they want super soldiers to fight. Eventually, even if "off-screen" there will be some sort of war where BOWs are being used as soldiers.
i actually reaaaaaally enjoyed re6. yeah its not like jump scare horror but ive always find re games more like action featuring zombies and gross monsters so re6 really hadnt felt so out of norm from the rest.
While 6 was heavily criticized, I think the direction it took was necessary to move the story forward even more. Leon's chapter was actually very reminiscent of the early games. And actually surviving with other civilians? awesome touch
The only thing it has in common with the early games is enemies that look somewhat like regular zombies and an urban setting. Gameplay-wise it literally has NOTHING in common with any of the earlier (1-3, even 4) installments.
@@Noki_Kelevra Yup. And imo, it actually plays the worst because it tries to constantly evoke the older games but the gameplay mechanics are clearly geared towards the shootouts in the other campaigns, and imo his plays sluggish as hell.
Crazy how a decade later here I am watching a video about Re6 because I honestly enjoyed this game. It was a massive game. Maybe too big. Either way I enjoyed this whole video. I love Resident Evil lore.
While 5 and 6 veered too hard into action movie territory, I highly recommend the two Revelations games. They're still a bit heavy on the action, but they felt a lot more like the old formula.
This game was fun but the story was all over the place. I event platinumed it back in the day but men it's been hard to replay it. Also I've quite grasp the whole story until this video hahaha, thank you so much. Subscribing, the amount of work you put here shows so much
I've found that RE6 is by far the easiest to introduce to casual friends, for co-op especially. RE5 is my favorite, but constantly having to hear "these controls suck" (tank controls are great, btw) over and over can get exceptionally annoying.
I really enjoyed this game, I've played through all of it many times with a friend in co-op. Also, once you see the ending scene with Jake protecting that village it will play again every time you finish anyone's' campaign.
unpopular opinion, but I actually liked re6. I understand the game play deviated from their Roots however they're saving grace was the zombie and infection plots that I liked so much still a good game nevertheless
I loved how the games developed slowly, they went from smaller, newbies afraid of a zombie and barely able to defeat bioweapons to confident soldiers straight up styling on zombies and rushing towards the bioweapons… it’s great character and story development so I loved this game. Especially Chris and Leon’s development though from unaware S.T.A.R.S agent that got put back to level 1 once it started and Rookie cop who was unlucky and forced into this to badass bioweapon slayers. Both of them were forced to toughen up and it shows.
Man, i was 15 when i saw the trailer and some gameplay of this game, and i have to admit, the City scene sure as hell traumatized me, i still had shivers up my spine when i saw it in your video. Great content tho, keep going :3
Got the platinum in this game during the early lockdowns. Even all S ranked all missions with all the characters even though it wasn’t necessary to beat each campaign twice. The infinite ammo guns are a God send for this game bc managing the inventory was hell. Possibly the most fun mercenaries mode too IMO with tons of load outs to unlock and try out with the fun combat.
Playing as Chris And/Or Leon was the coolest part of this game. Not my favorite RE game but I’m glad capcom and the resident evil team took the series in a different direction cause what we got now with the remakes and Ethan’s story has been great
This was the first RE game that I played, and I enjoyed it. I wasn't really into horror back then, and I did eventually play the other more horror focused RE games, which are undeniably better that this game objectively speaking.
I love every single Resident Evil game from the mainline to the spin offs. There's clearly a split between the old school fans (which I fall into) and he new school fans (which I also fall into). I'd say the split happened from Resident Evil 0-3 and 4 was the breaking point to go on to 5 + 6 before it seems CAPCOM started listening to feedback more with Resident Evil 7, VILLage, and other titles. As of 2022 it seems CAPCOM is at their peak firing on all cylinders with no only Resident Evil but many other franchises like Monster Hunter with Rise and World; Rise first launching on Switch being one of the most impressive Switch exclusive titles (at the time) now announced for other consoles along with the Sunbreak DLC later. Anyways I think CAPCOM has diversified their portfolio enough and had a high enough output of games, sometimes outsourcing smaller games while focusing on big titles in-house, to be able to satisfy a wide swathe of gamers which is what I think they were aiming for with 6. I think that most of the criticism for 6 comes from it not only being this total action game flying in the face of the series roots and what hardcore fans wanted (see critic reviews vs angry fan reviews). For people who grew up with 4 as their first game I think 6 wasn't as bad as those who started with the OG game. That isn't to say that 6 has some glaring flaws but overall if it is taken on it's own and removed from the canon of the Resident Evil history and main series I think it's a GREAT game. Definitely not perfect but a game worth playing. I think the sentiment of RE6 has slowly begun to swing more towards the positive side since it's release as people aren't as embedded in the hate of it when it first launched and are maybe more willing to give it a shot. Still many veterans and other gamers don't like it or have mixed feelings but I think in years it will begin to get a cult classic status. It's still too new but I imagine by RE9 it will have a more positive view while still being viewed as the worst in the series (hopefully).
Ngl I loved playing this game game for each story. I know peeps don't love it but I enjoyed every moment of it with my only problem being the ammo capacity. I was always running out faster then I should have which sucked but other then that I loved this game
Really love the combat and the amount of freedom you get in this game. Because of this game, i couldn't bear the clunkiness of older titles, even re5 felt pretty clunky compared to 6. The remakes' combat weren't as light and free as 6 but it was so much better compared to older titles, and they felt just right. Being able to dodge when you wanted in re3 remake felt good too. Surprisingly, i liked revelations 1 despite the movement controls being a bit clunky
Resi 6 had really deep combat, with counters and dodge mechanics is was awesome. I don’t know if would say the combat was “better” than older titles, as the titles were made to be slower and more restricted, adding to the brilliance of the older games. However, 6 did have different combat, way deeper, way cooler looking. But a lot of resi fans don’t care to be flashy they care for the survival horror. That being said, resi 6 is still a game to this day that I will redownload and play from time to time, pvp was incredible, learning every counter hit felt like an achievement. This game breathed fresh air into the resi series and albeit a unpopular opinion, I fucking loved it. I would love to see this combat system expanded upon in a resident evil game some day, because I’ve never felt more badass in a game than resi 6. And Leon’s fighting a style is begging for a 6 2.0 Tl/dr - resi 6 is an incredible game worthy of your time and you should definitely give it a shot. (Aimed at readers not LK as he’s obviously played it)
I’ve been aware of RE since I was a kid (probably the ads for outbreak gave me awareness) but we weren’t a Capcom household so we never played it so I played 6 at my friend’s house and I was aware of T virus and all that and was INCREDIBLY confused by C virus and everything storyline wise. My roommate’s favorite game series is resident evil and has been playing the remakes since we moved in together last year and It’s been a long time since I’ve done research and rewatches of anything so I’m starting from 7 and moving backwards and now I’m here since he’s playing the RE4 remake
I like the comment near the end of ada stalking leon because that is what it almost feels like, I mean, those two would make an amazing couple, as 2 survivors of similar calibers would make an interesting storyline finisher for two characters at the same time
Nice!!! Perfect time on my day off, I am impressed you got over 17 hours of game play and story in 32 min, the worst version of redfield is the RE7 version
I really enjoyed RE6. I bought it when it came out without any research into it before hand. I played it every evening when I got home from work and I really enjoyed the action movie with a touch of horror aspect of it. The bigger story of it was a cool change for a RE game
Re6 is my favorite re game, with re4 following close behind. The reason I love it so much: It's got the best balance of action and horror. It's got some of best multiplayer options, with couch co-op and online co-op but also has great online modes. It also has one of my favorite character in all of the re games, Piers. (he didn't deserve that ending though😭)
Resident evil 5 was awesome. Played that game so much. The multiplayer was a ton of fun. And multiplayer mercenaries was great. Spent a lot of hours with me and my friends playing that game.
Capcom finally knows how to blend horror and action elements together. I just finished re4 remake and watched this. I wish Capcom would fully reboot this.
Fun fact or not so fun depending on if you like re6 it's Canon to the movie stories as the new re movie death island shows a clip for Leon of him shooting the zombiefied president
As much as most of the community didn't like RE6, I loved the game. It was one of the games my brother and I bonded over, especially during the Mercenaries mode
I love this game and It is a fun co-op experience. My fiancé and I really enjoyed the mercenaries game mode. I know it doesn’t feel the same As the originals but as a big fan of the series I thought this was fun one.
For me The best R.E games are R.E1, R.E2, R.E3, i can feel the horror of the game, more puzzles, limited ammo, difficulty of the game and the camera views are awesome. 1999/2000 if my memory is right, thats the year that i played the game using my older brother brand new PS1 bought by our Dad. For me The R.e2 is the best of them all.
Thank you for giving this game a fair shake. I don't know why so many people dislike this game. This is one of my favorite RE games. Except for Chris. That guy gets on my nerves. I was really hoping Chris would get the short stick this time, I liked his partner a lot better.
Another Unpopular Opinion : I LOVE THIS GAME. It lost it's horror theme but focus in the story of the Hero's Journey on Fighting the Bioterrorism based on their Horror Experience in the Past Games (don't get me wrong, I was born in 1990 and I LOVE OG Trilogy). Although it seems thay way, the 4 campaigns is lore rich and diverse in gameplay which for me a Perfect Modern Resident Evil (NO DLC BS! You BUY AND ENJOY THE GAME!) and I prefer this RE over 7 and 8... I just don't like the very very slow build up, uber gore / dark theme and nausea inducing 1st person view.
One of the things I find so impressive about this franchise is that it can deviate so much from the original formula, and still (in my opinion) believably be Resident Evil.
I really can't understand people who call themselves fans of the Resident evil franchise, hating this game. This game was a literal love letter to all previous Resident Evil titles before it, each chapter had a fitting type of atmosphere for each character's story. Leon and Helena had the traditional horror vibe, and traditional zombies RE is famous for, Chris and Piers had a more action packed, third person military game atmosphere, which fits because he is fight global bioterrorism, same with Jake and Sherry's campaign, only with the added bonus of playing as Wesker 2.0, and Ada Wongs campaign fits her as well, stealthy with the additional nod towards some of the classic puzzles from old RE. I really don't get the hate for the game.
Because the majority of gamers HATE change. They freak out about it. They'd rather see their favourite franchise die out by releasing the same game every year, than adapt, change and evolve.
Because it was another stupid action shooter in a sea of action shooters and went way overboard. Just because you say "hey look these characters! Hey look zombies! Hey look the first part of chapter 1 of Leon's story is horror-inspired!"... isn't a love letter. That's just pandering. And most fans hate just empty pandering when the rest of the game clearly isn't geared towards them.
For me, Pierce is the real MVP here... Being impaled in thr arm and ripping it off then injecting himself with the thing that they were sent to destroy to save his Buddy Chris and defeat the huge BoW
This game is great for people that care about lore and story heavy games. If you only care about horror then you hated this game and loved 7. But if you were one of the people that wondered what other characters were doing during events of other games this was cool. It showed what multiple characters were doing during a period of about a year or so and it was all in one game instead of two or three. It was great to see multiple characters instead of one because we hadn't seen some characters in quite a while. And overall it is fun as hell to play with a friend. No it wasn't horror and the gameplay wasn't typical of a RE game but I enjoyed seeing characters like Sherry who we assumed Capcom forgot about. And I think the one thing that would've made this more fun is if every storyline played completely different. Have Leon's be completely horror, Chris' be action since he's mostly fighting with a military, have Sherry's be more puzzle heavy, and have Ada's be as it is. That's what it needed imo because the different campaigns were too similar in tone and play style. I also feel this game should've traded Pierce for Jill since we hadn't seen her in so long. And since the last time we see her she was saved after being brainwashed for two years and then we fast-forward to today and her story has been left alone since then. How can they leave a main character's story just up in the air after something so big like that?

Resident Evil want's really horror games for me since my first one was RE4... 6 was the best for me, a large game with campaigns putting the pieces together to form a complex, yet interesting story. Also, every story has a different tone/theme: Leon's is more horror with less ammo and darker, Chris' is shoot them up (like RE5), Sherry's have you been hunted by an enemy you can't defeat (like Nemesis in previous games) and Ada's solves the mystery of her other self...
This!!!!!
Felt rewarding on completing hers too
Btw i like some of the Master duel stuff you have on your channel. What's your main favorite deck?
@@eddysegafan6655 wow I never realized people actually watch my uploads. sorry for the late reply. I have never really played YGO before, just learned from playing DL and MD. As such, I try to learn all the decks available in game so I don't really have a favorite deck yet. But so far Live Twins is what I use a lot.
@@dravenryoma08 Haha no no that was my doppelganger who wrote that!
Seriously though give yourself some credit you have 55k people who have checked out your channel, me included ^^ if nothing else that is kinda impressive!
Live twins are hard to fight against imo and having some prior experience to MD through DL absolutely helps in terms of a base line what to expect mechanically.
Gladiator Beasts is what I've taken up to plat until I got bored. Made 4 other decks now.
telling us the complicated and confusing story of RE6 in a clearer way is one hell of a feat
Its not really complicated. You just hate Re 6.
@@jackjax7921 not so. i found its gameplay good and agreable between others. it's just that one of its main flaws was its hardly understandable story
After seeing the story in a very organized way makes me love this game more than I’d imagine. Really enriches the story and the stakes
Agreed.
Love that game
Control is the best. And there are plenty of horror elements in the game I think. Very lovecraftian.
The game was such a masterpiece~ A deep dive into the lore would be most welcomed~
Ada’s campaign was definitely my favorite
I personally love this game, not a great RE title, but overall a great action game. And playing 7 different views, pretty cool. No, I dig this game, but that's just me.
Chris's campaign was the best. Good action and good story arc.
I love RE6 aswell and was waiting for this video as i found the game... confusing as i haven't found all the emblems yet, only got into this game in the last year or so 😅
Thank you and keep up the great work 😀
i'm like for it's time it's very good
I've played, all resident evil titles, just because I fell in love with the OG resident evil series re1,2,3. EDIT: Harry please do control, whenever you can.
i’m obsessed with lore and order 😩💕
PIERS NIVANS was such a great addition to the game. The way he kept Chris in check and protected him at all costs is a great teammate and friend. I was so pissed he was killed off. Like Capcom wasted no time with him. It’s unfair. Piers would have made a great addition to the Hound Wolf Squad.
I think Claire mentions being his friend in Revelations
@@lightdarksoul2097 .....so?
@@SeventhheavenDKwhen she called him during revelations 2 it’s was basically the start of RE6
Resident evil 6 is what made me love the whole RE series 🤙
When the whole point of the series is to show that people are selling viruses on the black market for war, of course we will have a game more focused on the actual war. These companies are not going to keep throwing viruses in random houses lol, they want super soldiers to fight. Eventually, even if "off-screen" there will be some sort of war where BOWs are being used as soldiers.
i actually reaaaaaally enjoyed re6. yeah its not like jump scare horror but ive always find re games more like action featuring zombies and gross monsters so re6 really hadnt felt so out of norm from the rest.
12:10.......Hmmmm, I NEVER knew that, but that's seriously intriguing.....About Marco; This guy does his research, seriously 🧠🧠🧠
Leon, Chris, and Jake should've had an awesome team-up
No, no, no not the ninth game! That should be RE10! A big event for the big one zero!
I had fun with RE6. You have to take it for what it is: a fun shooter developed for you and your friends ^^
And imo, it actually plays the worst because it tries to constantly evoke the older games but the gameplay mechanics are clearly geared towards the shootouts in the other campaigns, and imo his plays sluggish as hell.
say what you want but I LOVED RE6.
story was so good and simmons C-virus transformations were pretty badass. ( besides that big ass fly form. ugh. )
I can't help but finding funny that all happen because Simmoms is an Ada's Only Fans top tier subscriber, and Ada doesn't call him by name
Because Simons is all of us man
Just found your channel a few weeks ago and I've loved going through and watching all of your lore and order videos, keep up the good work!!!😁😄
Crazy how a decade later here I am watching a video about Re6 because I honestly enjoyed this game.
It surprises how the atmosphere of all parts came to this part; yet nice that they are making a reboot of the series with remakes.
I know people hated this game but I loved it. I played it at least 200 hours and several more playing mercenaries with friends.
Same! Played on the ps3, ps4 and now the switch! Just wish I had more ppl to play mercenaries with
@@eddysegafan6655 I’m always down with that re6 is one of my favorite
sameee
people didnt hate the game. critics did and casuals cheered them and left a bitter aftertaste...
This game was fun but the story was all over the place. I event platinumed it back in the day but men it's been hard to replay it. Also I've quite grasp the whole story until this video hahaha, thank you so much. Subscribing, the amount of work you put here shows so much
Im so glad im subscribed to you. Its like waiting for that certain series that just cant end weekly
I've found that RE6 is by far the easiest to introduce to casual friends, for co-op especially.
RE5 is my favorite, but constantly having to hear "these controls suck" (tank controls are great, btw) over and over can get exceptionally annoying.
I love these videos, I always watch them as soon as I can
I really enjoyed this game, I've played through all of it many times with a friend in co-op.
Also, once you see the ending scene with Jake protecting that village it will play again every time you finish anyone's' campaign.
I never played RE after being traumatized as a child in an arcade… but after seeing this video I legit wanna play. Awesome vid!
In the middle of playing this with my buddy. We started with Chris story
Chris is action oriented, Jakes is more of an expansion to lore, leon is like RE4 but with suplex, and Ada's the background work.
I remember playing this game but never knew how everything flows together
I would fail all my tests, but I certainely studied and listened to this.
unpopular opinion, but I actually liked re6.
Not my favorite RE game but I’m glad capcom and the resident evil team took the series in a different direction cause what we got now with the remakes and Ethan’s story has been great
Mercenaries mode goes so hard in this and RE5. Something resident evil needs to revisit
I was waiting for this video. Thank you
This was the first RE game that I played, and I enjoyed it.
I really liked how this game put the Big Dogs together. This a world full of people like them. Its clear they will meet evetually and often.
31:45 adaS new achievement unlock stalking leon
And Leon’s fighting a style is begging for a 6 2.0
Tl/dr - resi 6 is an incredible game worthy of your time and you should definitely give it a shot.
I like the comment near the end of ada stalking leon because that is what it almost feels like, I mean, those two would make an amazing couple, as 2 survivors of similar calibers would make an interesting storyline finisher for two characters at the same time
I remember playing this game, even 100%ing it as a kid, and the only thing I remembered is you can unlock an Ada part of the story mode.
Every time I see a new thumbnail of yours in my feed my day instantly gets better.
My childhood is finally completed! 💙
"which will likely be stalking Leon"
(wheeze)
Re6 is my favorite re game, with re4 following close behind.
The reason I love it so much: It's got the best balance of action and horror. It's got some of best multiplayer options, with couch co-op and online co-op but also has great online modes. It also has one of my favorite character in all of the re games, Piers. (he didn't deserve that ending though😭)
Resident evil 5 was awesome. Played that game so much. The multiplayer was a ton of fun. And multiplayer mercenaries was great. Spent a lot of hours with me and my friends playing that game.
27:54 I never knew those years where real, I always though they where just fantasy
If you haven't, please do Vendetta! Keep the story going ty
RE6 wasnt that bad, it was just the culmination of the "action trilogy" and it was fine.
This game was so much freakin fun omg 😂❤
Capcom finally knows how to blend horror and action elements together. I just finished re4 remake and watched this. I wish Capcom would fully reboot this.
I didn't know that Carla was pretending to be Simmons when calling Ada o.o
Fun fact or not so fun depending on if you like re6 it's Canon to the movie stories as the new re movie death island shows a clip for Leon of him shooting the zombiefied president
Still play this a lot because it has the funnest gameplay imo
I atarted with re 4 on gamecube and when this came out i maxed out all the perks i still play this on the switch even my girl plays this with me
In my humble opinion, this game is an underrated masterpiece.
Jake was my favorite because of the Ending boss fight and since Jake is the only chatcter that used bare hands
7:12 did Leon just RKO a zombie
Yeah bro just RKOed a zombie like he does not care 😂
Thank you for giving this game a fair shake. I don't know why so many people dislike this game. This is one of my favorite RE games. Except for Chris. That guy gets on my nerves. I was really hoping Chris would get the short stick this time, I liked his partner a lot better.
Friend bought me re6 a couple months ago and we player through every campaign and I actually quite enjoyed it and got me into resident evil fully
Another Unpopular Opinion :
I LOVE THIS GAME.
I'm wondering how Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 are going to be remade. Possibly completely re doing the plot
Hell yeah amazing morning when Gaming Harry releases a new video
For me, Pierce is the real MVP here... Being impaled in thr arm and ripping it off then injecting himself with the thing that they were sent to destroy to save his Buddy Chris and defeat the huge BoW
I love these "History" explanations. I wish I could give more than a single like.
