Don’t know if it’s been mentioned already but Daiwa reps on other forums have reported that the price difference between the JDM version and the USDM version is because the JDM version is manufactured in Japan while the US version is made in Thailand (like the Tatulas and previous Zillions). US version will also have brass gears, which explains the weight increase of 0.5 oz vs the JDM version (6.2oz JDM vs. 6.7oz USDM). Will be interesting to see if these hold true once domestic versions start shipping.

Liked my Steez sv tw but the casting distance was lacking compared to my Shimanos which I expected, then after 2 years I decided to adjust the "0" adjuster and now my steez casts just as good as my shimanos. The 0 adjuster is a joke for people that don't know how to set up a baitcasting reel. Should have adjusted it right when I first got the reel.
yes, you're right. I been using some of the Daiwa's reel for the past years. I realized the Daiwa's Magforce Z braking system casts better with the spool lose. I had a 2020 Daiwa tatula SV, I always put my spool tension to side to side play whatever weight of lure I cast. I had flush my spool bearing grease and reapply a drop of Daiwa needle oil in it. I can even cast a 2.5g spoon with a non proper loading Medium Light power rod easily with the brake setting on 3 with mild breeze ahead. I can't cast it as far as I did if I don't have side to side play on my spool. And the funny thing is I will get birdnest easier and the distance is far out if I have side to side play on spool. So my spool tension on my 2020 Daiwa tatula SV will be always lose. I can cast comfortably and effordlessly from lure weight 2.5g up to 23g.
The problem is. The Diawa spool tension is set too tight from the factory if you want max distance and The Reel Test does all these casts battles and there pointless because he won't adjust it even though he knows its too tight. He adjust them on the Shimanos though of course. No way this reel will casts further then the met 20 if you leave the spool tension that tight, not even giving the reel a chance.
@@jimford8512 yes the default setting fresh out of box is too tight for almost every lure below 1oz. The Reel Test keep mentioning with Daiwa claim the zero adjuster can let angler cast without adjust the spool tension. But I think he did it intensionally, maybe to "protect" Shimano reel? I had tried both Shimano and Daiwa, not talking about the casting distance, the Daiwa SV concept just feel better in term of ease of casting and less of adjusting the brake on different lure weight. I think casting distance is very identical if he reduce the tension of zero adjuster a bit more.
He's def Shimano biased. I also love Shimano but Diawa makes some great reels as well. I will say my Diawas steez, morethan are still as smooth out of the box after 2 years of heavy use. My Shimanos Metaniums and Antares need to be cleaned and lubed every couple months because they lose there smoothness quickly and become geary feeling.
@@jimford8512 Which steez do you have? the one that launch in 2016? What kind of fish do you fish the most? Do you having to problem of main gear chipping off of the duralumin main gear? I am not a big fan of Shimano micro module gear, those small teeth just make me feel unsercure on fighting big fish.
It's a combination of the skipping ability of an SV with a Long Cast (sounds like it's way longer ) ability of the Elite with hopefully a dash of Steez refinement.
@@THEREELTEST Daiwa's Hyper video did a pretty good job of explaining that. Personally, I like my Daiwas for close quarter summer action where I feel the control and higher available drag is a plus, and my Shimanos for longer range action Winter, Spring, and Fall.

Zillion vs Met pleeeeez
Cast battle for sure!!
Im getting this reel just for the clicking drag! 😂
wanted metanium first, but now not so sure
Me too, haha. I really like a clicking drag!
Soon it will be one company Shimdaiwa. Then Daiwa and Shimano fans can hug and kiss each other.

For you only shimano is looking perfect and it is the best.
I want to see zillion vs metanium cast battle
I outcasted my metanium with the zillion
@@88jbc the metanium mgl lost cast battle distance with the new zillion? What brake setting and lure weight did you use?
I was using a duo realis 120 jerkbait, brake setting at 5
Field battle for sure
I think he mentions Shimano more than the Daiwa. Bias much?
Casting against metanium first!!
Já quero uma dessa 👏👏👏👏👍
Is that the same as the sv tw G
Um show de Carretilha.
I want to see this reel battle shimanos first hahaha
Field Test between zillion, metanium, bantam, and steez.
18:33 my reel doesn’t have that 🤔
you mean the clicking drag? Id send it back if its missing that and you wanted it
@@THEREELTEST nah I’m talking abt the cheap feeling buzzer bar
Video has been brought to you by SHIMANO
Zillion 1000 vs. Metanium / Antares :) I think the SVS will beat the SV boost :)
Field battle w/ Metanium 20
Can this thing suitable for saltwater?
Yes it can
This thing will destroy the Shimano
what make this reel so special?
It's a combination of the skipping ability of an SV with a Long Cast (sounds like it's way longer ) ability of the Elite with hopefully a dash of Steez refinement.
SV Boost is supposed to address the shortcoming of the SV reels which is short casting distance.. But Im going to find out for myself and the viewers
@@THEREELTEST Daiwa's Hyper video did a pretty good job of explaining that. Personally, I like my Daiwas for close quarter summer action where I feel the control and higher available drag is a plus, and my Shimanos for longer range action Winter, Spring, and Fall.
Zillion vs Steez, first!
Does anybody make a deep spool for the PW100?
you can use any deep spool that fits in the XF50 or Spirit Fox in the PW100
Do a zillion TW HD vid
When they trying to look like you. Act like you. Your doing it right. No hate but Shimano is king.
Field battle!
zillion vs metanium 2020
Steez vs zillion
Against the steez
Clicking drag on a low profile baitcaster for bass fishing is just stupid
