In today’s video we inbox the new hard to acquire and highly anticipated for 2021, Daiwa Zillion SV TW G 100xh which is brand new to the market and one of the hottest reels of the year, looking very similar to the Shimano Metanium and I believe meant to compete head to head against the metanium fishing reel. Enjoy the daiwa Zillion Review on the water (first impressions)

Honestly one of my favorite rods i have is Quantum throttle 2 ratio 7:3.1 on 7" Berkley Lighting Rod medium Heavy love it never have problem with it go far and all. Well im trying get googan Rod Go To Green to Canada but cant get it shipped here if you will help me out i pay difference and set reel on it think Shamino Curado but might be interested in Diawa 😋
Tension knob is a zero adjuster. Daiwa sets it from the factory. They suggests that you not adjust it but you can of course do what works for you. However that's why its a little harder to turn.
That reel looks dope dude 🔥
Thing is pretty nuts man I’m curious to see how it compares over time
Heh, you're gonna learn like I did that we're not supposed to adjust the tension knob.
Nah man you gotta adjust the zero adjuster. It’s just I would loosen instead of tighten
Spool tension knob is a set it and forget knob.. you never need to adjust that, I have a bucket full of the Daiwa reels and that know never gets touched!! The SV spool takes care of all the adjustments.
Waiting for them to come back in stock..Thanks for the review
I would have to disagree. I was having issues pitching with mine using a Texas rig worm yesterday and I had to loosen the no adjustment to get accurate pitches. I like no braking on my reels at all when pitching. This is the only negative I’ve found about this reel is over braking at times.
They cast so much better when you adjust the "zero adjuster."
Tackle Advisors is who goes through the reel. Reel Test just says you are going to hell and Shimano casts further...
@Daniel So true, he TRT, talks more about triggered D fan-boys than there are posts of that kind in the comments section...
Have you noticed he usually does his casting battles in no-wind or in a slight breeze from the back... never in fair head wind to my knowledge. That's how you create winners! But I guess that and quoting scripture makes him a true creationist 😄
😂😂
He intentionally set the brake on daiwas to minimize its distance. He is truly a funny guy.
The one thing about the new Daiwa reels is you don't have to mess with the tension knob. Most of them are set so you only have to mess with the brakes if you need to. Most guys will have to set it at about 50 percent until you learn how the reel works. I have mine set at 2. Awesome reel feels great in hand.
MY GUY Lets Try Not To Get Kicked Out Of Any Ponds Today 😅🤘🏼
That is always the goal 🙌🏼
I was all good til you desecrated the reel by slapping it on a gogan rod with googan line 🤢
Spool tension is meant to be like that because they call it “Zero Adjust”. Set it and forget it. For me the sweet spot is to set the spool tension to where it’s barely got some play in it, and then use my brakes to fine tune each bait
I have mostly Diawa Tatula reels, but have been trying out Shimano DC reels lately. They both have pros and cons. I feel like I can tune the Diawas more fine, but I like the Shimano easy of use.
Yeah I hear ya! Tension seems easier to adjust on the fly and brakes have less notches but they’re both phenomenal reels
I dislike my DC reel, to heavy to use all day, and the DC is hype they can backlash.
@@charlesshoemaker3622 yeah....the DC chip does choke the cast. Your just paying for the DC whine sound really. The only DC reel that doesn't choke the cast is the outrageous priced 2021 Antares DC.
I’m sold just on the clicking drag, I’ve wanted my bait casters to click so bad and now it will , thanks for showing me this beautiful beast 👍🏾
That feature is pretty sweet!
The Gogan rod says it all
Show us how you spool yours! 😅
FYI the tension knob on the Right is a no adjust with the SV spool just change the dial on the left
How dare you put that reel on a googan squad rod... FAIL!
I started fishing years ago watching flair vids. I doubt I put a reel on much anything else 😂😂😂🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 love the Googan rods
Welp I just found my new reel I'm gifting myself for Father's Day but wayyyyy sooner 😂😜😊
On Daiwas without the zero adjuster you set the spool tension just to eliminate side to side play and forget about it and never mess with it again. Then just adjust the magnetics to your liking. daiwas are easy to dial in, I'm thinking about picking up the zillion as well. Right now I have a couple of tatula sv and have been flawless.
Reel handle on the wrong side lol
Yes it is 😢 but he only had that one and I wanted it fast for content haha. We can’t have it all 😂😂😂
If you want the most in depth review go to tackle advisors. The reel test is a great channel but tackle advisors goes deep into the reel.
No, he just goes over components. He doesn’t actually fish them and compare them.
Tackle Advisors channel takes the Reel Tests lunch money it’s not even close. TA is so much more educated
I will say that drag sounds like shit haha
It kind of does 😂🔥 and the thing is you’ll pretty much never hear it.
I'm strictly a shimano guy but not gonna lie, that 2021 steez has me wanting to cop a diawa or 2. Lol
I use both and I really enjoy the Daiwa. Its the smoothest, quietest reel I own. Both are excellent. Ford vs Chevy in the reel world :)
It’s because they completely copied Shimano on it🤣
I own both and love both for different reasons but this new Zillion is really good
I just received a brand new Daiwa Zillion 21 SV TW G reel ( ZLNSVG100H ) but without the cast control cap or the stem. Where can I order an authentic replacement cap and stem for it or any that is compatible?
I think the Daiwa part number is H28-1201 but I’m not 100% sure on that or what the stem it covers is. This Zillion 21 is a pretty well known reel so I figured you guys might have a good idea of what would work here.
Thank you!
This was my first baitcaster dont listen to him on That note highly recommend to new beginners
Why do act like you never hear/seeing a clicking drag on a bait caster before didn’t you do a review on the curado bfs a couple videos ago which also comes with clicking drag too lol
Plus you paid close to $400 for that thing, you’re crazy, isn’t worth that price at all
Found this on Amazon for $900+ so wanted to find what was so special about this reel 😅
Tension knob is called a zero adjuster meaning don't touch. It was tuned at manufacturer.
It's not a shimano... Dont mess with tension knob like one.
Haha found that out quick
Remember kids, always check your drag. Especially when it's a brand new reel 🙄
Dude said this may be my new favorite reel before even putting line on it and fishing it. SMH
Shimano and diawa is really the only way to go🤙🏽
My shimano antares also has a clicking drag got try that reel out
That’s a 0 adjust you don’t really need to touch it you can but you don’t absolutely need to
So what technique (T-Rig, jigs, moving bait). I'm thinking about this reel.
With what did u go?
Hey not to tell you that your are in the rong but te tentions nobs is a zéro adjuster ( set from the factory)
I honestly don’t like the way it looks I think it should be like the tatulas
Get the shimano exsence dc. Has clicking drag!
Man you are missing the whole point by resetting the spool tension. This is not a classic centrifugal break system. It's your choice, but better not do that.
Why is it better not to
Now you're ruined... Shimano will be forgotten
Time will tell
YOU MEAN TACKLE ADVISORS, NOT THE REEL TEST!!!!!!
I doesn't know that linus tech tips was a fisherman too
Awesome to see Daiwa on the channel and great video! I am a Daiwa person all the way and to this day my favorite reel from Daiwa is STEEZ A. Glad you enjoyed the reel! Keep up the great content.
Diawa is a zero adjust spool tension it’s set at the factory. Your not supposed to touch it
Well too bad, bait dropped real fast and it affects casting.
@@WestinSmith dude, don't be the old dog who doesn't learn new tricks. I made the same mistake with my new Diawa. Open the mind and understand what Diawa is doing with this tech
2 years later, how are you liking this reel?
Concept boss please by 13 fishing
Diawa hands down the best reels and the New Zillion takes it to another level! 🎣
Hands down the best shimano copying machine
@@paling1872daiwa is advanced via mechanical, shimano is advanced via electronically, ppl compare the 2 but each specialize in what people prefer over the other, so its not exactly a fair argument lol
Its sad you put such a beautiful reel on a garbage squad rod, I also don't recommend anyone buying the cheapest baitcaster available, if so you will hate using it and have nothing but problems.
🤣🤣🤣
Diawar reels bearings aredry bearings and the spool tension is a zero adjust they come pre set from factory. At least on my to Tatula sv tws and tatula elite p/f they are super awesome reels to try if u are going with diawa
I just got a p/f and didn't know not to touch. Live and learn
Whats the "G" stand for?
Got my first frog fish of the year in Arizona today
Curado dc better and cheaper
Zero Adjuster buddyxD
This is the US model not the JDM 1000 model . Any reason ? lol this model is 100 $ more than the one made in Japan ..
The SV spool is insane. It was designed to be able to throw the lightest of lures without back lashing. It's a very light spool. Once you're able to get it dialed in, try throwing a Weightless fluke on it, its effortless, even more so than any bfs reel I've fished.
Flukes it is 🙌🏼🔥 coming up
The new zillion is fire. I got two and loving em 💥🎣🔥 that clicking drag is awesome to hear when you catch a big bass 🤙
I got 3 because of it
Try the daiwa steez
love from malaysia
Okuma
that reel is sick ! i would like to see you try the pro ti at the same price range
Yeah I’ve wanted to get one of those for review for so long!
Thanks
Thanks
Sold
Why do you even mess with the tension knob that much? Set it as you like even tho its the zero adjuster and then just leave it there. If you're throwing another lure and need the spool a bit more controlled just bump that breaks up one step at a time until it throws perfect. 1 step will work in most cases. Watching how fast the bait drops and then tightening the spool tension will always make the reel underperform, it's just a bad way of setting up your baitcaster.
It's a Daiwa SV you don't touch the tension knob from the factory. Only adjustment needed is using the dial. This aint no Shimano.
Shimano aldebaran bfs
Shimano scorpion bfs
Shimano calcutta conquest bfs
Check them out super nice great quality all click drag
READ THIS BRO ABOUT THE TENSION KNOB-On the daiwa sv--dont worry bout the spool tension. Thats why the daiwa spool tension is so hard to adjust, youre really not supposed to on the daiwa. Just set it to where theres no wiggle or the very tiniest wiggle and youre good. Thats the beauty of the sv brakes and why they are so much better than any other companies brakes (including the shimano dc). The brake settings compensate for everything including heavier lures, just use more brake. I run my brakes on about 6-8, maybe 10 or 12 if its really windy out and you’re using a light bait.
The older sv tws had a bigger tension knob that was easier to get to, but people kept complaining to daiwa that their reels didnt work good and they couldnt get the distance they could outta their lews or whatever. They were setting up the reels like they would a lews or something with a slow fall, and you arent supposed to on the sv system. So daiwa changed the tension knob to where its recessed and behind drag and everything and sent them out from factory with spool already set so only thing u gotta do is use more or less brakes.
I use all svs. I have 4 tatula sv tws, i have 2 coastal sv tws, and i have one zillion 10.0 sv tw(last years zillion sv tws) . I have a lews, and i have a shimano dc i use on deep crankin rod.....the sv is ultimate.
welcome aboard the zillion train. saw the title and laughed because i got mine for $350 shipped from japan when they launched them months ago. for me it has replaced the steez sv tw for me...which is a good thing because it's much cheaper, yet has the same quality and almost as light. also, you probably know this already by now, but the tension knob isn't designed to be adjusted...comes preset from factory...why it's termed zero adjuster. all you adjust is the braking dial on the bottom side of the reel. anyway, enjoy. i laughed when you started on 20...lure won't go anywhere. sweet spot is 4-7 with factory set zero adjuster. lol..bro you did everything wrong with this reel out of box, all good though because you didn't know. welcome to daiwa though.
My dad has the previous Zillion SV. I have a Tatula SV. His Zillion is probably "better" but not by such a wide margin that I'll willing to shell out the extra 100-150 bucks for it. Not hating on the Zillion, just saying that if it's me I'll take the 200 dollar reel and put the rest into a better rod or hell even a another gun.
pair it with blazon bfs rod with 8lb braided line and 12lb shock leader..almost to perfection setup i guess..have caught many peacock bass and hampala in my country..can't wait for silverwolf sv and silvercreek air this year..thumbs up for this vid btw👍✨
I have a different Daiwa SV reel and I can get the best distance (throwing around 3/8th ounce) with brake set to 7ish depending on wind. But I also haven’t messed with the zero adjuster tension knob. I get silly distance with it set this way. I have hit the other side of t he bank of a midsize pond at times. I have to use my thumb a little but I am by no means a pro.
If you want to cast thumb free you are going to have to neuter the casting distance. It’s a shame to do that to such a capable reel.
The SV BOOST spool on that Zillion is supposed to reach out ever farther than the regular SV spool.
The diawa isn’t the only baitcaster that has clicking drag, the shimano excense and shimano anteres have them. But it’s a cool feature
Bro I was gonna ask how you liked the Zero adjust spool tension knob out if the box but nvm😂😂. I've had mine for a couple weeks waiting on a rod for it, glad to see a first impressions on it I can't wait to use it!
With the Daiwa t-wing system the only thing that sucks is if you throw braid, you can’t run long leaders. The knot struggles to come out the reel. But you can still run short leaders. But other than that it’s great.
Just won I-cast 2021 best freshwater baitcast reel of the year! Shimano Fanboys ain't going to like that. 😆
The thing is, with this new Zillion they have a brand new magnetic brake system. Instead of one tier, it has two different phases of braking. So you shouldn't need to adjust the spool tension other than to eliminate play. That is the goal anyway. Supposedly, this new Z-brake will outperform the last generation by a large amount. That's what Daiwa says anyway. I am waiting to see if that is actually the case and if Daiwa reviewers that are familiar with the systems agree it is a game-changer. If so, I might buy one. If not, I'll be looking at another Shimano. Perhaps the Mentainum.
Reallllly thinking about replacing my Lew’s tournament mp with this on my dobyns kaden rod. Really love my Tatula ct and my Tatula elite. Love my Daiwa’s
Nice video , land based fishing is dead set healthy for the soul. I’ve just purchased a tatula 100HS and am itching to try it. It’s my first reel since my shimano Calcutta passed away. But somethings telling that reel is the one to get.
lol tightening cast control on a daiwa. the cast control is called ZERO ADJUSTER for a reason 😂
do you like this as much as a shimano dc.? I'm thinking of getting one of this. cheers good watch:)
12 is what I run my Tatula's on. You should try a Tatula, its a good combination of performance and affordability.
Amazing video!!! Congratulations!!! Hugs from Brazil!!!
Checkout the Daiwa Steez expensive reel and the Daiwa CC80 cheaper
Diawa is only the best premium gear I buy. Behind that is Shimano.
Lure should free fall and set to 6 to 12 depending on wind. The slow fall is for non daiwa braking systems.
You can @ me cause I know daiwa and shimano make great products but daiwa is your best bang for you buck
I like when a reel looks a little beat up. Even an expensive one. It gives it character.
This thing is awesome. It’s definitely on my to-get list but waaaay down the road because I don’t have enough rods for my bait casters. I definitely want to get a Daiwa Luvias LT spinning reel. Those Monocoque reels are supposed to be a new level of refinement and I think one would be awesome with a Megabass P5 Windbuster. I already have the Super Destroyer paired with a Core-solid Metanium and 16-lb Sniper and it is my go-to for Texas Rigs.
The zillion is not daiwa flagships. Theirs is the steez line up. Just so u know
Just got mine today, can’t wait to use it…sloped it on my orochi jerkbait rod
Another issue is you can't lay your thumb on the spool while reeling or the line will bunch up where the thumb is because of the t wing
Shimano makes good stuff but Daiwa is 2 steps ahead of the game. In my opinion
Should try that tatula smooth as butter and cast a mile lol, once your use to it and figure it out it’s easy as pie and it light
The Diawa tatula sv is the best. Hands down all I fish with less chances of getting backlashes
Next. Let's see that exsense dc ss also has a clicking drag. And it's a Shimano. 🔥
I’d like to see a comparison to the tatula sv tw. Been thinking about picking one up.
Per the instructions, the zero adjuster is designed so you don't accidentally hit the spool tension while reeling/casting, but you do want it set to minimalize side to side play. It comes close from the factory, but it usually needs a spot of tuning. I can go from skipping mode to long cast mode just by changing the brake dial. Lower weights (> 4g) or higher weights can be casted just the same without spool tension adjustment.
U should do the abu Garcia bmax3 black maxx baitcaster reel
Just curious, where did you find storage with an electrical allowance?
I just bought the 8:5:1 from tackle warehouse
I'm a big supporter of this reel. Great video as well!! Roro Lures makes a bfs spool for that model and you can throw lures down to 1gram. Makes the reel very versatile. Would love to see you showcase some bfs reels. Its a ton of fun and you would enjoy!
Shimano Japan has a baitcast with a clicking drag. JonB has one
