Why You Should Choose Sony in 2022

  • All the camera brands produce very capable cameras. Canon has some epic stuff with the R5, R3, R5c. Nikon Z9 destroys us all. Fuji XH2s has almost caught up to Sony in AF. Even Panasonic and Olympus with the GH6 and OM1 are decent. But this is why I choose Sony for wildlife videography, and youtube creator completely un cinematic stuff.

Hey man I don't know if you respond directly to messages, hope you do.
I really like your personality and content, I had a simple question: what's the easiest way to make money from using a camera. It's not that I'm looking for a shortcut in life, simply would be fun getting a camera, making money off by using it and saving up for bigger stuff.
if you decide to respond, thanks in advance.

      У неё коэффициент увеличения x0,35 и 1400 г, и светосила выше и качество картинки на порядок выше!
      В то время как 200-600G увеличивает в x0,2 раза при массе в 2200 г и большими размерами (bigger).

You're genuinely getting better with your videography skills (and more patient - 2 years ago you wouldn't wait half hour for no heron to blink its transparent wildlife eyelids). The top gun insect moment was an excellent observation - you could offer your footage to citizen science projects or stock footage library of Canadian wildlife. Well done. Cool new soundtrack btw!

I don't know much about cameras and how they function, but I like his guy's storytelling in a soothing voice and think it's cool. I can imagine a lot of time and preparation went into it.
Once as a young man in the 1980s, I used to love watching birds even though I'm hardcore when it comes to physical sports. Some of my friends couldn't figure that out. I guess it was part of the natural nature in me wanting to connect to life ecosystems. I'm thankful I get to see a lot of wildlife videos on UA-cam. Thanks.

Sony is just clinically perfect. They have all the right cards. Their laser focus on Mirrorless from the very beginning is paying off.
Full Frame/Excellent AF/High DR/Great Low Light/Light and compact bodies true to Mirrorless/Great Battery life/huge lens lineup with tons of affordable options.
They charge the premium, they can afford to.

Great video Kasey and nice sequence of fish and night heron..! You most likely already know this but one of the things that more advanced cinema cams (like Canon's R5c & C70) have is a "pre-rec" or "cache record" function whereby the 3 or more secs before you hit the rec button are also recorded to your clip.. means you don't miss any action from delay in hitting rec.. a super useful feature for filming wildlife.. though you will most likely need a tripod to film from as hand holding is an issue with that size/weight of camera. all the best to you..g

Ask Camera Canada for a CFexpress 80 or 160gb and put your 4k 120p & 1080 240p on the highest bitrate. I think its much better, expensive as shit for the cards but the 80gb was on special a while back so I picked one up.
A7siii is much better at low light / night over the A1 for video but in daylight the A1 is sick with the ability to crop in on the sensor + clearview zoom. If you film in 8k and resize in post its sposed to be comparable in low light but thats just too much effort and time.

If you check Sean Tucker's channel, he is an amazing portrait photographer, which used Canon and then Sony.
It can be done if you pour hours fine tuning your RAW picture and you have the Photoshop skill to make it look good.

A7IV feels like the best hybrid but not having 120p 4k is hard to accept at this time. A7SIII is too low MP for stills. And IBIS isn't the best on Sony when compared to Panasonic. I also saw a video with Canon IBIS and it looked sh*t. And Canon doesn't even have anything other than R5 that is a good hybrid and that has that ridiculous 30 min limit. It's like they unite to make you unable to purchase anything at all.

Btw the back focussing problem came from hybrid camera, for some reason they have trouble detecting subject near you. Oh and one last thing, if you adapte this lens on the RF mount, with the new technology like eye bird detection AF there is a strong focus breathing that happens for some reason and make half of your pictures soft 😭

I had the Nikon Z9 briefly. It does not have the same dynamic range as the Sonys and the most featured codecs are creating such large files that they are unusable. Prores HQ422 creates much larger files than 8k... It is incredibly heavy. After this, I sold all my Nikon gear and went for an A1....

  • @nogerboher5266

To be fair. If you use old Nikkor lenses with high MFT values or any of the high micro contrast/saturation Voigtlander, Zeiss, Hasselblad or Leica lenses, then images taken with Sony cameras have more life to them than images taken on any Nikon/Canon/Fuji camera - and it gets even better than that if you do some in-camera color corrections. Pair the a7slll sensor with a Summicron APO 90mm f2 ASPH, Summilux 50mm f1.4 ASPH, Zeiss Planar T 1,4/50, Zeiss CF Sonnar T 1,5/50 or Zeiss Otus 100mm f1.4... And you will get the most alive feeling images you can imagine. The colors, the contrast, the shadow detail, soft saturation transitions and just the overall light gathering and tonality will make your subject almost literally pop out of the image.

You changed the colors to canon in the beginning, and the image looses that cinematic look and the 3D pop to your head. I cannot explain why it does that, but the color science is too cool and not warm enough for the 3D pop. There is something very wrong with Canon color science. I have been slamming my head on the wall for years when people talk about Canon color science, its simply not true that its the best - in fact its s***. There is something wrong with it. Insert the Jacobim Mugatu meme of "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills" in the movie Zoolander.
Yeah I can see in some of the Sony footage where it turns green that it loses the 3D pop and things look muddy. But thats the White Balance messing up, and no camera is perfect.
Sorry dude, but Canon color science is crap. Its got to be over sharpened in-camera and Canon is baking in stuff to their files. The canon images look lifeless and dull. Yes the color might be nice, but there is no 3D pop or any ambience to the video. There's something wrong there. Is it the AA-Filter/Low Pass filter letting in too much Infra Red above 700 nano meteres in the Canon? Is it a little UV light getting in. I definitely think its IR getting in and making the red shirt more saturated. You have to remember its a photographers camera and it needs to be able to take an IR 700nm filter for IR photography, which mean the cameras Low Pass filter is probably cutting out at 720nm or 740nm for the IR photography guys (Visible light is 300nm to 700nm. lower than 300nm is UV light, and above 700 is Infra red.)
    .
There's something wrong there, the AA filter is too strong and fouling up the 3D pop in the Canon, and taking away sharpness. Its a full frame 26 mega pixel camera, how is it not visibly sharper than the Sony A7siii at 12 mega pixels - can't you see that something is wrong here and its the DSLR cripple hammer. Canon cameras just suck, and they're pieces of s***. The Canon Cripple hammer existed well before the R-mount cameras. Its a bulls*** system in EF/EFS and R mount. Nikon too, because when your main competitor is a bulls*** system, then you're only copying bulls***. For the past few decades all these morons have been praising Canon as the best, what a load of crap. Especially f00ls like Toney and few other canon fanbois.
