For the cendol, you can stir it using the straw so that all the contents are fully mixed, especially the sugar syrup which is pooling at the bottom. You can remove the lid, stir the drink and put the lid back on before consuming. Cendol can also be served in a bowl, especially if you can find a stall selling it with a designated area to sit. You can mix it more easily in a bowl as you will be given a spoon instead of a straw.

I agree that the taste wont be the same without spice and hot chillies but I also saw in videos where tourists avoid certain dishes they thought too spicy for them not knowing these dishes can be catered to their taste bud. For example, nasi lemak can be eaten on its own with rendang, without sambal, or without rendang but with fried chicken. Char kuey teow can be made less spicy. Roti canai with only dhal sauce without spicy curry and so on.

Hey guys, welcome to Malaysia. One thing most tourists arent aware of are the beauty of KL’s suburbs and for me that’s what sets it apart from other ASEAN cities. Do consider exploring and relaxing over a coffee or drink these places: 1. Bangsar 2. Bukit Damansara 3. TTDI 4. PJ Have fun!
as for cendol, u need to mix all the ingredients before u drink it.. that's palm sugar at the bottom... preferred to wait until all the ice almost melt for easy consuming
In addition to the culture acquired by traveling around the world, the gourmet culture is a "plus". and Malasya offers its visitors the variety of its spices, flavors and colors of its traditional food! Bon appetite guys😋!
When you eat cendol you should stir to make its blend, i see the palm sugar at the bottom, meaning you don't blend its. Malaysian food need to mixed-up everything example rojak, pasembor, noodle, abc. Ok guys
Cendol should be eaten in a bowl and use spoon to scoop everything. When it's sip thru straw you'll mainly drinking the palm sugar (black sugar). The taste should be mixed with creamy coconut milk. The green jelly, corn and red bean are additional taste mixture in your mouth. For northern American like you guys should opt out of corn since you guys find it weird to have corn in drinks or dessert. However, be prepared for sweet corn galore in SEA. They exist in most dessert
and its ramadhan so... BAZAAR RAMADHAN FOODS!!!!!!!! started yesterday so do enjoy more foods. haha. some food in bazaar ramadhan usually only available during ramadhan.., well at least more accessible than normal days
For the chendol you have to stir nicely cox the black sugar got to be mixed before you drink ..try next time you will love it ..enjoy your days in Malaysia .
Cendol is best eaten in its original form i.e. flour cendol jelly, coconut milk, brown sugar and shaved ice. The problem nowadays is vendors/hawkers like to add in other stuff like corn, red beans etc to make it more exotic, but they're actually spoiling its taste. So next time you come to a cendol place, ask for 'cendol biasa', which means normal cendol. Try it and taste the difference. Penang is known for having the best cendol in the country.. 😊
Oh you're gonna have fun with the bazaar ramadan (which starts tomorrow from 4-6pm). Lot's of food to explore you'd be overwhelmed (and that's an understatement). 😂
Welcome to Malaysia. Beware of snatch thieves and don't put your bags or other valuable things on the table while you are eating. Have a pleasant and enjoyable trip. Can't wait for your videos on Penang as I'm from Penang😊.
Thanks so much! So far, we've felt super safe here, but we will be careful of course! And we loved Penang! We had an amazing time in GT (and amazing food of course!!) 😍
Look like this time you know how to drink/eat the Cendol 😝 So for the Lok Lok, we usually boil it around 3mins depend on the size TY for coming and enjoy our food
To drink cendul you need to shake or mix it all before drinking it. Otherwise you just sip sugar and coconut milk separately. Some cendul are served with ice cream.
Malaysian food is generally a play of different tastes and textures so best way to enjoy it is to try the individual bits first then mix it all up for the full effect 😊 In other words, drinking chendol without mixing it up first is a common 1st timer mistake but try it again next time fully mixed
hahaha when I (Aimara) was editing the video, I did say, maybe we should have stirred that drink LOL - rookie mistake! 🙈 We promise we will give cendol a second chance and do it the right way!!! 🙌🏻
@@waysoftheworld_ - another thing to note is that the coconut milk used in chendol or any other malaysian desserts will have a bit of salt added. this addition brings out the creaminess and sweetness of pure coconut milk.
You should try cendol at Nyonya Cendol restaurant and it got a lot of branch in Mall.. one of my favourite cendol ever..I hope you got a chance to try it..
The Lok Lok is actually called Dip Dip eg dipping the skewer into the boiling water and boiled just a while like 10-20 seconds or something as long as its cook but don't over cook it as it will be mushy or too soft and it will be a disaster (you should ask the stall owner ... all Malaysians are friendly and willing to help especially a first timer. As for the Chendol you got to really mix them up well and it blends into a very creamy sweet coconutty taste and its awesome . Food Paradise of Malaysia is actually in Penang ... try all the hawker and local food it's tasty and full of flavours and Penang is basically Hokkien based island so food there are very Hokkien influence .Food to try there ... white curry noodles, fry keow teow with duck egg , Chendol, Assam Laksa, Keow Teow Teng (noodle soup), Nasi Kandar to name a few. Btw my name is Anthony from Ipoh ... Ipoh is also a up coming food heaven. Please do ask the locals on how you should eat the local food if you have no idea how to go about it to get the umami or get the ultimate taste on these food ... they are always ready to render help. Enjoy your MALAYSIA trip especially the food ... A UNIC taste ... FOOD DIVERSITY OF ASIA (having mix cultural and mix racial in Malaysia.

I'm really enjoying your videos and I'm glad you are enjoying your time in my beautiful home country. I know I'm biased but I think Malaysian food is the best in the world! Just a quick language tip: in Bahasa Malaysia, the letter 'C' is pronounced "ch" so for example you should say "roti CHanai" and "CHendol" 😊Have a great time in Georgetown next!
We love your country SO MUCH!!!! ❤️ And thanks for the tip! This helps because we like to know how to say things :) And yes, Malaysian food has been blowing our minds 🤯🇲🇾

hahaha yeah, rookie mistake! 🙈 We promise we will give it a second chance and do it the right way!!! 🙌🏻
hahahaa :D so funny
to drink cendol , you have to stir the cup so the sugar and the coconut milk and the cendol well combined then drink it.
We will do it right next time :)
Do try BAK Kut Teh, a herbal soup of pork which is very famous in Klang, Selangor and you can find them in KL too!
I like lok lok, drooling!
We loved it! Even though we didn't cook it right 😂
Hey guys, welcome to Malaysia. One thing most tourists arent aware of are the beauty of KL’s suburbs and for me that’s what sets it apart from other ASEAN cities.
Do consider exploring and relaxing over a coffee or drink these places:
1. Bangsar
2. Bukit Damansara
3. TTDI
4. PJ
Have fun!
Oh thanks so much for sharing these :) We had no idea!
as for cendol, u need to mix all the ingredients before u drink it.. that's palm sugar at the bottom... preferred to wait until all the ice almost melt for easy consuming
Yes, we will give it another chance and do it right :)
you guys deserve way way more subscribers!!!!!!
Awww thanks! Little by little we'll get there :)
Chilli pan mee! It's famous and perfect yummy!
IT'S SO GOOD!!!!
In addition to the culture acquired by traveling around the world, the gourmet culture is a "plus". and Malasya offers its visitors the variety of its spices, flavors and colors of its traditional food! Bon appetite guys😋!
Exactly!! Malaysia has the best food 🥰
When you eat cendol you should stir to make its blend, i see the palm sugar at the bottom, meaning you don't blend its. Malaysian food need to mixed-up everything example rojak, pasembor, noodle, abc. Ok guys
Haha yea we definitely learned the correct way to do it. Round 2 will be better 😎
Yes!!! Everybody keeps telling us that we must go - we can't wait to be there soon to try all the amazing foods!!! YUM 😋
Chicken rendang. Its cooked with spices and coconut milk, coconut paste (keresek - made purely roasted only coconut)
Thank youuuuu!!! It was so good 😍
U need few months travelling the whole of malaysia to explore the different type of foods u know 😊
Oh yes we know hahaha so many great things to try!
For the chendol you have to stir nicely cox the black sugar got to be mixed before you drink ..try next time you will love it ..enjoy your days in Malaysia .
We will give it a second chance for sure!!
you have to mix/shake the coconut water with the brown sugar, maybe you drink only the brown sugar that is why it so sweet
We'll give it another chance and do it right :) Promised!
Thanks for sharing! it seems like we have to go to Penang again and give it a try :) It's good to know this ordering tip for us foreigners 🙌🏻
Welcome to 🇲🇾....
thanks 🙌🇲🇾
Oh you're gonna have fun with the bazaar ramadan (which starts tomorrow from 4-6pm). Lot's of food to explore you'd be overwhelmed (and that's an understatement). 😂
Yea we can't wait to check it out!
@@waysoftheworld_ Glad to hear that. 😉
Look like this time you know how to drink/eat the Cendol 😝 So for the Lok Lok, we usually boil it around 3mins depend on the size
TY for coming and enjoy our food
To drink cendul you need to shake or mix it all before drinking it. Otherwise you just sip sugar and coconut milk separately. Some cendul are served with ice cream.
Yeah hahaha exactly. We will give it another chance and do it right :) Promised!
Thanks so much for sending us recs :) We won't have a chance this time, but we already know we're coming back here ❤️
Welcome to Malacca , there are many good places to eat and watch, I am sure you will like it!

Hi Hi, for cendol, ABC or similar (i.e. colorful shaved ice), you need to stir & mix well before eating.
We'll give it another chance and do it right :) Promised!
Nice vlog..
😊
KUALA lumpur Malaysia makanan nya pasti pedas' karena lidah orang Malaysia sukanya pedas
Selamat menikmati makanan khas Kuala lumpur Malaysia sobatku
The correct way to drink cendol is stir it first, mixed all the flavor and you gonna love it
We promise we will give it a second chance and do it the right way!!! 🙌🏻
The chendol you took, you should stir it throughly before you sip it with the straw. It is good to have this on hot sunny day .
We promise we will give cendol a second chance and do it the right way!!! 🙌🏻 no wonder we didn't like it... totally didn't do it right 🙈
The Lok Lok is actually called Dip Dip eg dipping the skewer into the boiling water and boiled just a while like 10-20 seconds or something as long as its cook but don't over cook it as it will be mushy or too soft and it will be a disaster (you should ask the stall owner ... all Malaysians are friendly and willing to help especially a first timer.
The "Cendol" Ur supposed to stir them & mixed them all at once. The Green Jelly, Coconut cream & red sugar melaka together before U even suck it using the straw. That would be better. NICE Video Guys
Yeah, we had no idea lol - we have to try again and do it right! :)
Welcome to malaysia my friend
Iam from ipoh perak malaysia...

The way to cook Lok Lok is just blanche it for about one minute. Especialy the vegetables. Most of the meat are pre cooked.
Thanks for the tips! We have to try again for sure!!
Stir it sir .. until well mixed..o dear😮
haha next time :)
You should Mix and stir the cendol before drink because the gula Melaka still at the bottom that is why it test so sweet
We'll give it another chance and do it right :) Promised!
You should stir first before sipping the cendol mix all the ingredients..you will taste creamy sweet drink.
We promise we will give cendol a second chance and do it the right way!!! 🙌🏻
The candol..drink..with that green noodles inside..
You must mix it all together before you consume it..
That's why it tastes sweet..because your consuming just the brown sugar only..ln the drink..there's..coconut milk, sugar and little salt and jello. With crushed ice..you to mix it together..then it will taste fantastic..actually that guy who sold you the drink should have explained this to you..try it again but this time mix it properly..
haha yea it definitely tasted like straight sugar. I guess that guy who sold it could have said something, but probably should have asked...
You have to mix the cendol! Stir it up!
hahaha yeah, rookie mistake! 🙈 We promise we will give it a second chance and do it the right way!!! 🙌🏻
