Hey Josh a little trick we used to do is take JB weld and put just a little bit on the threads and then threaded in and let it harden and it worked great then when you took the boat out you still have threads in trick I used to do when I was younger
After watching this channel for the last year and a half or so, it's become really clear how good of a teacher Josh is. Watching this channel y'all can learn just about anything y'all need to know to put a vehicle back together again. Not everybody can teach the skill they know, but Josh does an impeccable job!!
Agree I've said in the past I know hes primarily teaching and saying things out loud for his kids but I'm a young mechanic and gave learned alot from him
Yes I would say so myself. I actually learned a few things from him and took on my own projects. And the channel actually gave me motivation to finish a couple of them I had laying around lol. Much love from Maryland❤❤❤
@@Sleeperdude I wish you guys the Best in 2024! I can’t say how excited I am to see what you guys have in store! Hopefully a couple of cool trips! The trip videos are Great!

Hey guys. I'm 54. Never had a new car. I always check the seats good when I get a " new " car. Found some old coins n such. I did find an awesome old pocketknife abt 10 yrs ago that I still carry every day. What is the best thing you've ever found? Josh and Tosh, your kids are awesome and beautiful. You should be very proud. ❤❤
Josh, I can see this ain’t your first floors you ever tore out. This is an awesome technique. I’ve watched countless others drill spot welds so I kinda assumed that was the best way but wow now I’ve seen the light !! Thanks Sleeper Fam.
Watching you lay those seats down took me back to me childhood. My day would play the seats down and slide a mattress in and take us to the drive in movies. He would back into a spot. If one of us got sleepy we would crawl in and go to sleep. Needless to say none of us was belted in on the way there and home.
I want to thanknyou for tje Motovation y'all give to me! I am currently working on 79 merc capri rs turbo car that i have had since 1985 and also the project i am wrenchnon today is my 71 ford bronco approaching completion i am working new gauges and the problems on a unit that has not had any working gauges since owning it back 97. But i draw serious motovation from watching you guys! A new goal in my bucket list is to meet you guys in person! May the Force always be strong with you guys!
I am so lucky. My great uncle is a hoarder, and abandoned a house full of stuff. Besides an 18 year old generator that had never been out of the box, I also found a set of sockets from the 50s or so that have a metal carrying case. It was only missing a couple of sockets that I have since replaced, so it definitely replaced the plastic junk in my tool kit. No more busted carrying case, lol.
So glad to see this beauty getting some love Clark! Count your blessings that Ralphie has never seen the Rainer beer motorcycle commercial from the 80's. 😂 We drove my parents crazy going through those gears!
Really enjoy watching you and the family work on projects, especially old Fords. Love seeing you get back to work on the Galaxie. It's going to be amazing once you're done. Keep up the great work!
Awe JC Whitney… I miss that catalog, that was one of the many that would get me in trouble for reading during class back in the school days. It’s sad print magazines and catalogs are pretty much a thing of the past. I still prefer reading print over electronic. Any who the wagon is coming along great, that things going to be so much fun to drive!
I just wanted to say how special it is to see the series on the 64 Galaxy wagon because I grew up in one and its the car I learned to drive in. It was even a 3 on the tree. I can't wait to see final version really hope you and your family enjoy and make as memories as I have in the the I grew up in. We were the original owners my dad bought it brand new and we had it for 6 plus years. So again thank you so much for the series Arne Nelson
"Try it, you'll like it!" is an expression coined in a very humorous Alkaseltzer commercial in the early 1970's. It's actually a pretty funny commercial....and the saying became a pop culture classic.
2:44 yes, now we're cookin'! i had hoped that you would get into some structural repairs, now that you have the new, huge shop. This makes me so happy. putting them them back on the road, resurrecting them structually. love it!
This is a great wholesome family I'm teaching my grandkids how to work on stuff and I love the old cars I grew up in the sixties when you could work on your own car not like today
To repair the pulled thread in the gearbox here in the UK I would use a system called 'Helicoil'. It comes with an oversize drill bit and oversize thread tap to make the new thread in whatever wore out. Then a new stainless steel thread coil is inserted to bring the thread back to its original size. Kits come in UNF, UNC and metric sizes in all diameters.
I worked for a transmission shop back in the 80's in E.Texas & we'd use them a lot on the aluminum cases. Mostly on the front pumps & where the transmission pans would bolt up on automatic transmissions. They worked great and you were able to still use the original size bolts.
@@kerryhickman2235Have used them a lot working on high speed industrial machinery. Plenty of times get called out to the main production floor and would have that kit in hand because many calls were for stripped or broken screws and bolts. 😊
