@Sleeperdude Josh You have got to Pull that dash and gage cluster and AC and put them in the other galaxy. MY father used to drive one of those when i was a kid we would drive from Abilene to Fort Worth and then Dallas back in the day when i was like 4 to 15.... that's stuff is crazy how this stuff brings back so many memories...
There is an attachment for an air hammer called the Shake n’ Break for removing rusted screws that works miracles on those big rusty Phillips. And for sharp drill bits I use Drill America brand Cobalt drill bits. Go right through spring steel no problem.
Definitely a great find here. I would take the entire dash out & all of the glass at the time you swap over the door regulators. If the fenders are not too rusty, I would pull them, sand blast them and primer them for future use or for sale. The more parts you can keep will add to the list of saleable parts you have on hand. Once you have all the glass out, finish the body work on your car and throw a $200.00 paint job on it. With all new paint and seals, you won't need to store inside as much. I can vision this car restored to the point that Vise Grip Garage just did that F100. Maybe do a collaboration series with him on your wagon.
Defo Josh . Your Galaxy now you have a new floor in it . Why not use the dash etc to upgrade yours . I would salvage every useful piece of the one in the video glass everything and stash it . Your galaxy give her some love . She deserves a make over . After all you are a time served body shop guy . She would look great in old English white. Nice steel wheels with chrome dog dish caps . Love watching your channel . x
You made out pretty well, for the price you paid for it. The seats alone, were in amazing condition, along with all the other parts you need. I imagine it'll be awhile before you start working on the Chevy Corvair Greenbrier Van you just bought, those are rare. Another entertaining video.
Well that was not an ashtray you took out of the glovebox, but you're close... It's a "Cigar Snuffer," used to put your lit cigar out for later use. I wish I could attach pictures on here. There was a 64 galaxie listed on market place a few years back that I came really close to buying. It was a wagon that someone had converted into a ranchero type deal. With the roof being shot on yours it looks like it’d be a perfect candidate for that!
Great parts car. Fore sure that roof rusted out due to sitting under a tarp holding humidity in for years. Keep doing your thing, guys. Love your work.
What a find… Hopefully sometime in the future you’ll use that engine. What a great video to watch as you gather more for the family wagon. Can’t wait for the adds to the wagon once these are all cleaned up. That videos gonna be a special one. Really enjoyed watching this video. Sending you and your family Blessings. I grew up in Gainesville, GA.. I remember Wheeler's Shoe store as well as Nickel Back Shoe Store. I'm 72 and I remember Frierson - McEver's men's store too. And my Uncle's jewelry store, J. Wendall Lancasters Jewelry. Wow, this brings back some old memories as a child. The memories w/ my Dad taking me to those places. LOVE this video ! Thanks So Much !
I had a 1966 Ford Country Sedan that was Blue when I first got my license. Mom and Dad gave it to me. It had a electric front bench seat. It also had a 352 cubic inch engine with a 390 intake and a four barrel. The engine went south and Dad took the front seat and put it in a 1956 Ford F100 pickup. He used various other parts on the truck also. You and your family are fun to watch working together. Keep up the great work. Kerry
Of all the you tubers out there who rescue cars like these, you one of the few who invested in a decent tow chain! I recommend getting some plastic cafeteria trays to put under locked wheels so they can slide. Love the wagons!
That wagon is absolute junkyard gold Josh, so glad it found you, LOL. Too bad it was sold before all the Marti Report paperwork started. I agree with you, I'd say that given all the options it has... probably pretty rare.
When it was turning slow on your first attempt at putting power to it I instantly found myself chanting 24 volts so I knew it was only a matter of time till someone suggested it. 🤣
That engine is going to run. You just really need to keep cranking it and loosen it up. You can also clearly hear 1 cylinder doing something there. I bet the valves are just not sealing quite properly and it might be cranking slowly because I never saw you put any lubricant in the cylinders so that could have been a major impact to cranking slow.
The clock should actually be a wind up clock. There is a set of points inside. When the clock runs all the way down, the points close sending current to an electro magnet that reminds the clock. That way it's not always running on electric current. If you take it apart, gently blow it out, relube the moving parts with 3in1 oil. I did that on my '49 and '53 Ford. Worked great!
Door card vinyl covering can be saved by taking it carefully of of the door card, ( panel) carefully in warm water. Not hot. Soak it for about an hour. Keep water about 100 degrees and then smooth out flat. Stack heavy book on it to keep in flat .dry overnight and treat with alcohol free vinyl treatment.😊

1:21:31 Don't let that A/C unit fool you. My 1966 Galaxie Two door had a system like that, it would blow so cold you could see fog coming from it. On a hot day the whole inside of the car would get freezing cold. Much better than todays systems.
Now’s the chance to let your body shop talent shine. As optioned as this wagon is it’s well worth a 100% restoration. Find yourself another wagon roof ,door and whatever parts you need and rare up on it .When you get through it’ll be worth the effort. P.S. No patina junk ,too much of that junk going on nowadays . Keep up the great work
1:30:22 I always use self-sharpened stone drills for this kind removal. Tip: And to ensure that your steel drills last a long time, I recommend drilling at low speed and using cooling oil
A perfect parts car with many good parts and i hope the motor can bee fixed . Maybe the motor can go in the convertible falcon ? I like the convertible Falcon so mush . Tank you for this video it was so fun to watch !
The grill, headlight buckets and front fenders all look to be very nice. I would pull them and all the glass and put them up in your storage area. Use the dash, gauge cluster and steering wheel in your good one. What a great find!
Moisture (dew) will condense under a tarp due to evaporation. Archeologists will lay tarps over very hard soil so that the condensation will help ease hand excavation.
Sooo glad you found that 64 wagon. With that interior you can make your hotrod wagon comfortable on the inside. And that tailgate and window regulator will make it even better.Maybe you could cut out the left rear taillight area and use it on the whiskey dented hotrod.
I think if you replace the seats with the black seats with the tan carpet replace the dash with the black dash it would look pretty nice with the black seats and the tan carpet get rid of them bucket seats they don't fit the car!
Just seeing the dash reminded me of Mrs. Heilig (she was a Saint) a neighbor who had a 64 CS wagon with 3 on the tree. We would pile into it with her kids and she would take us out to her brother's farm in Suffolk County (Long Island). I loved sitting in the back and watching everything go by us backwards. No seat belts, or even seats, for us!!! And we'd always stop and get a Carvel ice cream on the way home. I LOVED that wagon!
If I remember correctly, those mufflers in the very back were called resonators. This wagon is a very cool and highly optioned vehicle. I was raised on the old FE Big Block Fords. They are a bit temperamental to rebuild, but they are sweet as molasses when you get ‘em done. Huge torque monsters!! Original parts, ie. blocks, head castings and such are getting more and more scarce to find and quite expensive when you do. For performance FE things, I would recommend Lykins Motors. Mr. Lykins is a definite FE Guru. I greatly enjoy watching y’all’s sweet family work and play together!! Love the fact that all five of you are gear heads. AWESOME!! My dad had a 65 Country Squire w/ 352 4b. It was a very nice car! Had Crank windows but electric bench seat. A/C, ashtrays with a lighter in the front and back seats. The tailgate open straight down or it would open like a regular door as well.roof rack etc. Very nice Family car….. You should cut the roof off of that car in one piece and use it as wall art! It would be. Good conversation piece!
Better yet. Treat the Rust, clear coat it and let “Skweezy”Paint “SLEEPERDUDE” on it. Let her get creative with it. You could take it to events and have “Famous “ people autograph it! Just a suggestion….
Ralphie my first ride was a 67f100 ranger short bed 390 3 on the tree, i rebuilt the engine Holley street dominated intake 750 DP cam and headers, very strong engine, the stock intake weighs about 106 1/2 lbs. I bought a 94 f150 new with a 302 after 230k it was tired and I bought a mustang HO 302 long block Did a couple of upgrades but used my intake and exhaust manifolds and it was a easy swap And a very nice upgrade without crazy fabrication and I’m still driving it… SEE YA!!
I used to have a 1963 Galaxie 500XL. And I’m a big fan of Fords in general. The thunderbird valve covers did come on some FE engines. It denotes the 300hp 390, usually with fords cruisomatic 3 speed cast iron auto trans behind it.
Did I mention I like 390s? I just put the heads on one I was building yesterday. FYI all Fords have spark while cranking even if the key is off. The second small terminal on the solenoid is a ballast bypass that provides a full 12 volts to the coil while cranking. You don't need to even have a key to check for spark.
back in the day some times if you can take a cold chisle and try to catch the edge of the screw head and tap back and forth on the screw head dont try to cut it off ,,you can reach in the tail light housing and rap on the screws that protrude through the caged nut and plenty of penetrating oil, take your time ,saved alot of one of a kind fixtures
Can't wait to see what we will work on next! You can't imagine how much I appreciate you guys. You are a testament to what a great family should be and act like. Papa Jim Augusta, Ga.
The seatbelt roller was aftermarket. We had the same ones. My '64 was a really early build and didn't have belts. I was there when my dad installed front belts. The law requiring belts started in midyear 1964. '64 models built without had to have them installed.
I about FELL OUT OF THE FLOOR when that ole motor spun over. MAN you HAVE to build that FE motor, you just gotta. 😂😂😂 y'all are the best man, I swear I love this channel.
Let Ralphie know the trick to doing "Nascar" lug nuts is to have the impact wrench moving a little when it hits the nut. I haven't tried it with electric but I used to be able to do it with an air impact wrench.
Our 1963 Ford Galaxie wagon air-conditioner use to make the rear windows sweat on the outside at night like an ice cold mint-julep on the veranda on a hot summer day. They had cool engine names back then my dad had the Police Interceptor V8 in his Ford Galaxie 500 XL Convertible It had tri-power carbs. It just sounded cool to impress your friends.
The Bumper an the seats and all the stuff you can use make this a great find....obviously.......but man...what a great find!!! You can even take the black inside trim, like the sunvisors and kick panels.....and B pillars trim......will look great in your car! Instead of taking the doors apart, why don't you just swap out the three good doors.....save the labor?
Satisfying vid! Of course, the only thing more rare than wagon parts is a guy who needs them! Trust me. I have rare early 50's Chevy wagon parts in my garage! Looking forward to the follow up wagon vid!
Great giblets! That car has great bits and pieces. After you remove all the parts you need for your Galaxy, I think you should turn what's left into a 'Redneck Ranchero'. Remove the windows, then cut off the roof and the pillars, all the way around, right where the bottoms of the windows are. Leave only the windshield. Weld the rear doors shut then weld angle iron or U channel steel over where it was cut, both as a cap and the strengthen the body. You then have a convertible-ish, truck-ish, Ranchero-ish custom car! And who needs an expensive convertible top for it when Harbor Freight sells big cheap tarps?
The only thing that made me nervous was when you hooked up the battery. I'd suggest that you put a rag over the battery when connecting it, because you never know! Love your videos!!!!

MY father used to drive one of those when i was a kid we would drive from Abilene to Fort Worth and then Dallas back in the day when i was like 4 to 15.... that's stuff is crazy how this stuff brings back so many memories...
Jacob?? Thought it was Josh??
@@intentsmodz Your Right... I had a brain Fart thanks.
@@intentsmodz Fixed it
@intentsmodz caught red handed done called sleeperdude puddin 😆
@@RobertDickens2002 🤣
There is an attachment for an air hammer called the Shake n’ Break for removing rusted screws that works miracles on those big rusty Phillips. And for sharp drill bits I use Drill America brand Cobalt drill bits. Go right through spring steel no problem.
Ok thanks
I'm amazed at the steering wheel. As bad of shape as the rust issue is, the steering wheel doesn't seem to have a crack in it.
I know it’s crazy
Definitely a great find here. I would take the entire dash out & all of the glass at the time you swap over the door regulators. If the fenders are not too rusty, I would pull them, sand blast them and primer them for future use or for sale. The more parts you can keep will add to the list of saleable parts you have on hand. Once you have all the glass out, finish the body work on your car and throw a $200.00 paint job on it. With all new paint and seals, you won't need to store inside as much. I can vision this car restored to the point that Vise Grip Garage just did that F100. Maybe do a collaboration series with him on your wagon.
Ok thanks
Love watching your channel . x
Love this time of the week sleeperdude and family is on. God bless you all
Thank you 😊
@@Sleeperdude ur welcome
You made out pretty well, for the price you paid for it. The seats alone, were in amazing condition, along with all the other parts you need. I imagine it'll be awhile before you start working on the Chevy Corvair Greenbrier Van you just bought, those are rare. Another entertaining video.
Yeah I think so too
Well that was not an ashtray you took out of the glovebox, but you're close... It's a "Cigar Snuffer," used to put your lit cigar out for later use. In fact they still sell them now, even on Amazon.... 😂 / 🗽 ✌
`
Ps
No, I've NEVER been a smoker but I've sure have been around so many that we're....... I just remember those "Cigar Snuffers."
They also make smaller diameter types that are for cigarettes also..... 👆
You guys are an awesome family and I respect and appreciate all of you ....and thank you for letting the world see what a strong family looks like ....
Thank you 😊
The Family entertainment y’all provide is amazing!!! The builds, adventures, and finds all great stuff. God Bless!!
Thank you 😊
We had a 64 Country Squire when I was a kid. 289/C4. Not as optioned as this one. One of my favorites and we had some cool ones.
So cool
Front seat belts were standard in all Galaxies and Conttry Squires starting in 1963.rear belts added in 1967. Dash clocks were standard starting also in 1963.😊
👍
That’s Right
I think the dash clocks were standard in Galaxie 500 and higher trims. The custom and base model wagons often didn't come with them.
The BEST DAY is when y’all put out a video!! We love all your families videos. We’ve been new subscribers for a couple of weeks, my hubby & I have been going back & watching your older videos.🤗
Awesome! Thank you!
I wish I could attach pictures on here. There was a 64 galaxie listed on market place a few years back that I came really close to buying. It was a wagon that someone had converted into a ranchero type deal. With the roof being shot on yours it looks like it’d be a perfect candidate for that!
Oh cool
Great parts car.
Fore sure that roof rusted out due to sitting under a tarp holding humidity in for years.
Keep doing your thing, guys. Love your work.
Thank you
What a find…
Hopefully sometime in the future you’ll use that engine. What a great video to watch as you gather more for the family wagon.
Can’t wait for the adds to the wagon once these are all cleaned up. That videos gonna be a special one. Really enjoyed watching this video. Sending you and your family Blessings.
We All Love Sleeperdude’s channels. Until the next one😊
Thank you 😊
The fact Ralphie didn't know how to use a matchbook made me feel very old.
I'm with Mike, everyone needs a Galaxy wagon in their life
I know right
I grew up in Gainesville, GA..
Oh that’s awesome
I had a 1966 Ford Country Sedan that was Blue when I first got my license. Mom and Dad gave it to me. It had a electric front bench seat. It also had a 352 cubic inch engine with a 390 intake and a four barrel. The engine went south and Dad took the front seat and put it in a 1956 Ford F100 pickup. He used various other parts on the truck also. You and your family are fun to watch working together. Keep up the great work. Kerry
You all are going to make that wagon a really cool car God bless you all
Thank you 😊
That was one lucky find . Congrats. Love watching Ralphie when you get more cars he gets so excited. He is a car man for sure.
Thank you 😊
Almost at that 250 mark. Congratulations guys! Love the videos as always!
Thank you
Of all the you tubers out there who rescue cars like these, you one of the few who invested in a decent tow chain! I recommend getting some plastic cafeteria trays to put under locked wheels so they can slide. Love the wagons!
70000 miles?! Hoping the engine is in near mint condition but keep working on your Cleveland engines!
Fingers crossed!
That wagon is absolute junkyard gold Josh, so glad it found you, LOL. Too bad it was sold before all the Marti Report paperwork started.
I agree with you, I'd say that given all the options it has... probably pretty rare.
these odometers dont have the 100,000 digits.... it could easily be 270K miles.......
@@MorganMcGinnisyeah, but not likely with the condition of the rubber on the pedals
The trim the AC the sea the steering wheel and all those non cracked windows! Score! Good for you😊
Thank you I thought so too
i think the rubber tarp keept the condensation under
I think so too
I once put a inflatable pool on the hood of my truck and the sun made the clear coat pop up
Great find. So awesome he contacted you. Unobtainable parts car. Sometimes things just come your way!
For sure thanks
When it was turning slow on your first attempt at putting power to it I instantly found myself chanting 24 volts so I knew it was only a matter of time till someone suggested it. 🤣
😂
Such an awesome family and channel! I love the fact you have longer videos than most 👍
That engine is going to run. You just really need to keep cranking it and loosen it up. You can also clearly hear 1 cylinder doing something there. I bet the valves are just not sealing quite properly and it might be cranking slowly because I never saw you put any lubricant in the cylinders so that could have been a major impact to cranking slow.
Ok thanks
Check firing order
Check compression
Dribble a little MMO or similar into intake while cranking to lube intake valves/cylinders
I'm so happy right now i just did a cartwheel!!! I'm 58 & i didn't die! Might have broke the left hip? Still worth it!
That’s hilarious
🤣🤣🤣
I’m 69 and the last cartwheel I did was totally unintentional. The durned Russian judge still only gave me a 2
Door card vinyl covering can be saved by taking it carefully of of the door card, ( panel) carefully in warm water. Not hot. Soak it for about an hour. Keep water about 100 degrees and then smooth out flat. Stack heavy book on it to keep in flat .dry overnight and treat with alcohol free vinyl treatment.😊
70k miles that's still new
Yes!!
Barely broke in with those miles
@@itsmephil2255 I agree
I am a old black man 63 from TORONTO ONTARIO CANADA . I am 5 HRS drive NORTH of TORONTO. Love your show and family. This is my ESCAPE from what is REALLIY WRONG IN THE WORLD,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Hey glad we can help. Thanks for watching
Home Depot sells rubber mat by the foot and while there pickup some resisto flashing tape it works like boom mat only cheaper 15.00 for a 6”x25’ft roll
Ok thanks
My first boss had 76 ford f 250 that had a 429 super cobra jet , It was my job to wash it up on Friday after work then I would take it back to his when I got done, I loved driving that truck
So cool
A lot of nice parts on that wagon nice job 👍
Thank you
1:21:31 Don't let that A/C unit fool you. My 1966 Galaxie Two door had a system like that, it would blow so cold you could see fog coming from it. On a hot day the whole inside of the car would get freezing cold. Much better than todays systems.
goldmine. so cool. love the dash with the clock and all.
Yeah for sure thank you
Now’s the chance to let your body shop talent shine. As optioned as this wagon is it’s well worth a 100% restoration. Find yourself another wagon roof ,door and whatever parts you need and rare up on it .When you get through it’ll be worth the effort. P.S. No patina junk ,too much of that junk going on nowadays . Keep up the great work
Saturday video. ❤
You know it!
they're all on Saturday now idk if you realize he changed it a while back.
Yeah maybe so
The grill, headlight buckets and front fenders all look to be very nice. I would pull them and all the glass and put them up in your storage area. Use the dash, gauge cluster and steering wheel in your good one. What a great find!
Not a bad idea
Moisture (dew) will condense under a tarp due to evaporation. Archeologists will lay tarps over very hard soil so that the condensation will help ease hand excavation.
Yes!!
Sooo glad you found that 64 wagon. With that interior you can make your hotrod wagon comfortable on the inside. And that tailgate and window regulator will make it even better.Maybe you could cut out the left rear taillight area and use it on the whiskey dented hotrod.
Yeah it’s definitely going to help
I think if you replace the seats with the black seats with the tan carpet replace the dash with the black dash it would look pretty nice with the black seats and the tan carpet get rid of them bucket seats they don't fit the car!
Ok thanks
Just seeing the dash reminded me of Mrs. Heilig (she was a Saint) a neighbor who had a 64 CS wagon with 3 on the tree. We would pile into it with her kids and she would take us out to her brother's farm in Suffolk County (Long Island). I loved sitting in the back and watching everything go by us backwards. No seat belts, or even seats, for us!!! And we'd always stop and get a Carvel ice cream on the way home. I LOVED that wagon!
Love me some Sleeperdude wagon videos! 🥰
More to come!
I so love watching your family and you work on these old cars , reminds me of my grandfather and I doing it . Truly great to see. 💯
Thank you
You just must restore that on!!! Fully optioned 100% original!! That is a money car restored!!!
👍
AWESOME!!

Coastal cars near the ocean rust out on the top instead of the bottom due to the moisture in the salty air near the ocean.
👍
Once again another awesome video from sleeper dude. Awesome to see a family that works together . You can sure see the love. May God bless you all
Thank you 😊
Josh.you should try the points file I sent you last year,I find it works well usually, before you hit em with paper. Cheers to you all.
Thank you
When I was a little tyke my Dad bought a used 64 Country Squire with off white exterior/wood grain and red interior with the reverse 3rd row seat of course. Power everything Great family car!
Family trip to Colorado in it
Que hermosa familia y todos trabajan me encanta como recuperan autos vintage y las cabras curiosas😂I love the united family and the vintage cars and the curious goats in all the videos. Greetings from Argentina
Thank you 😊
My dad had a 65 Country Squire w/ 352 4b.
Yeah that would be cool
Better yet. Treat the Rust, clear coat it and let “Skweezy”Paint
“SLEEPERDUDE” on it. Let her get creative with it. You could take it to events and have “Famous “ people autograph it! Just a suggestion….
Need to get me an old station wagon!
Absolutely
I tell myself I need to buy an estate to make my life better every time I see a Sleeperdude video 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Ralphie my first ride was a 67f100 ranger short bed 390 3 on the tree, i rebuilt the engine Holley street dominated intake
750 DP cam and headers, very strong engine, the stock intake weighs about 106 1/2 lbs.
I bought a 94 f150 new with a 302 after 230k it was tired and I bought a mustang HO 302 long block
Did a couple of upgrades but used my intake and exhaust manifolds and it was a easy swap
And a very nice upgrade without crazy fabrication and I’m still driving it… SEE YA!!
wow, Cougars , Mustangs all around you.
Had a 63 Wagon..had 250K miles on it when the guy I baught it from replaced the 352 with a 390 (391) that was a NICE RIDE
Y’all should turn that wagon into a drag wagon. The weight reduction has already started.
I used to have a 1963 Galaxie 500XL. And I’m a big fan of Fords in general. The thunderbird valve covers did come on some FE engines. It denotes the 300hp 390, usually with fords cruisomatic 3 speed cast iron auto trans behind it.
Something funny about flip flop and croc wearers wanting to sell shoe horns, lol
🤣🤣🤣hilarious
I have no advice. I just enjoy watching every one of your videos!
Thanks to all of you 💜
Did I mention I like 390s?
Ok thanks
I about FELL OUT OF THE FLOOR when that ole motor spun over. MAN you HAVE to build that FE motor, you just gotta. 😂😂😂 y'all are the best man, I swear I love this channel.
I know right!!!
Let Ralphie know the trick to doing "Nascar" lug nuts is to have the impact wrench moving a little when it hits the nut. I haven't tried it with electric but I used to be able to do it with an air impact wrench.
Will do
What a treasure trobe of hard to find parts. Great video Sleeperdude family.
For sure. Thank you
Great find and great parts off this old wagon! Enjoyed this video a lot, as I do all of them. Love what y'all do!
Glad you enjoyed it
Our 1963 Ford Galaxie wagon air-conditioner use to make the rear windows sweat on the outside at night like an ice cold mint-julep on the veranda on a hot summer day.
👍👍👍
Satisfying vid! Of course, the only thing more rare than wagon parts is a guy who needs them! Trust me. I have rare early 50's Chevy wagon parts in my garage! Looking forward to the follow up wagon vid!
👍👍👍
Yeah that would be cool
The only thing that made me nervous was when you hooked up the battery. I'd suggest that you put a rag over the battery when connecting it, because you never know! Love your videos!!!!
My message from today's video. We have to have faith. Especially in today's times. No matter how rough things are you end up with some great parts.
Yes! Thank you!
I am so excited you found this wagon. This project is coming together as if Angels are looking over this I believe they are boy will Marge be the envy of all the soccer moms as she wheels into town with the Station wagon to get the kids or groceries what a find y’all will have a real classic and I hope it stays in the family forever A/C and power seats this is a miracle find ❤❤❤❤❤I am loving this
