    wow, i had a runny nose and was sneezing all day, which zapped my energy. It's so annoying to have to blow my nose all day, now it's raw and painful. I was going to get a neti-pot, but tried this instead and the results were amazing. At first, i was wondering why it wasn't working, but after a seal was formed in both nostrils it started going to work. the stuff that came out would have never been flushed normally and it was pretty nasty. i'm sitting here with a clear nose and could not be happier. so glad i found this!

    You said to add warm water, but not that it had to be distilled or boiled. I accidentally used tap water before on other devices and the pain it caused, however brief, was insanely intense burning sensation.

    • @NavageRocks
      @NavageRocks  2 роки тому +2

      Dear Kirk,
      Most users prefer to warm their water prior to use. If you do this, do not overheat the water. It should be lukewarm to the touch and not hotter than about 85°- 90° F (29°- 32° C). Here are the published recommendations from two authoritative sources regarding water used for saline nasal irrigation:
      - The US FDA advises using filtered, distilled, or previously boiled water for nasal irrigation.
      - The CDC provides detailed information about boiling, filtering, and disinfecting water for nasal irrigation at www.cdc.gov.

      "After using Afrin 2-3 times a week and constantly getting sinus infections, I bought the Navage and started using it every night, before I go to bed. Never been able to breath so well. NO MORE Afrin....Period! If you have sinus issues.....I would highly recommend the Navage!" - Andrew M.
      "I have the type of allergies where my sinuses swell up so bad that I look like I have horns on my head. The amount of congestion I have allows me to be that obnoxious mouth breather, constant loud nose blower, and disgusting guy with 100 dirty tissues in his pocket. The first day it cleared all the allergens that line the mucous. the swelling went down and by the night I could go for a run and breathe through my nose. I'm a week in, and I haven't taken a single allergy pill, decongestant, nasal spray, ibeprofen, or even a tissue (other than blowing out some water)." - Liftalpha

    I’m wondering if this will work with for people with eustachian tube dysfunction. Been batting fullness in my ears for years now.

    • @NavageRocks
      @NavageRocks  2 роки тому +7

      Dear Vince,
      Great question! We received the following response from our Medical Director, Dr. Howard Levine:
      Thank you for your interest in Naväge and your question about its use in the presence of Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD). You may be aware that there are several types and causes of Eustachian tube dysfunction. Some causes of ETD are atmospheric changes (airplane travel or diving), blockage around the Eustachian tube (allergies, large adenoids), and upper respiratory infection, to name a few.
      Also, as you may know from looking at video animations, Naväge works drawing saline with powered suction in one side of the nose, washing the nasal cavity, passing the areas where the Eustachian tubes open, and then washing out the opposite side of the nose.
      There are no studies to show improvement or worsening of Eustachian tube problems using Naväge. However, for many of the causes mentioned, it would seem as if the powered suction Naväge has the potential to help since it draws the saline into the area of the Eustachian tube openings washing away irritants, allergens, and germs.
      I would suggest you discus with your physician the value of using Naväge as it relates to your particular Eustachian tube problem.
      Howard Levine, MD, FACS, FARS
      Director, Cleveland Nasal Sinus & Sleep Center

    I tried it today with one blocked nostril, when I flipped the nose pillows it straight up high speed no resistance, drained down my throat. When I flipped it back to the blocked nostril the water slowly drained down my throat I'm not sure what to do here but I'm still just as terribly congested.

    • @NavageRocks

      Hello Danielle,
      I'm so sorry to learn that you're having difficulty using Naväge. For nasal irrigation to work, there must be room for the rinse to go in one nostril and come out the other. If you're extremely congested, it will be slow at first and you may need to start and stop a few times to loosen the mucus and break up the congestion.
      We suggest the following tips for irrigating when you're really stuffed up:
      a. Irrigate for about 10 seconds;
      b. Gently blow your nose;
      c. Rotate the Nasal Dock 180° to reverse the flow, and irrigate in the opposite direction for about 10 seconds;
      d. Gently blow your nose again;
      e. Rotate the Dock 180° again;
      f. Repeat until the rinse begins to flow into the bottom tank.
      This repeated “back and forth” will help flush out the congestion and allow the rinse to flow from one nostril to the other. Persistence pays!

    Can you use this with a slight deviated septum? I’m having trouble using this because the water seems to go into my throat

    • @NavageRocks
      @NavageRocks  2 роки тому +5

      Hi Chelsea,
      Great question! The short answer is yes, individuals with a deviated septum can use the Naväge. Based on our experience and on feedback we've received from Naväge users, the Naväge system can work well and has been very beneficial to individuals with a deviated septum.
      Here’s the long answer. As you know, the nasal septum is the thin, vertical wall of bone and cartilage that divides the inside of the nose in two. There is a gap between the back edge of the septum and the rear wall of the nose. The saline rinse flows through that gap when you irrigate, from left to right or from right to left, depending on how you've got the Naväge rotatable nasal dock positioned. Without that gap, nasal irrigation would not be possible!
      Here's where it gets a little complicated. Human anatomy is not perfectly symmetrical, and the septum is rarely (if ever) perfectly smooth and straight from the front of the nose to the back. In other words, everyone's septum is “deviated” to some degree. If you've suffered an injury or multiple injuries, your septum could be very crooked or out-of-place ("deviated"). The important questions are:
      1. How deviated is it?
      2. How motivated is an individual to make nasal irrigation work?
      The more your septum is crooked or out-of-place ("deviated"), the longer it may take to complete an irrigation cycle. With a severely deviated septum, it could take a minute or two, and you may lose patience with the process. For most people, learning how to rinse your nose with Naväge is easy and fast, and a nasal irrigation cycle only takes about 15 to 25 seconds. But for some people, especially if you have a severely deviated septum, it can take longer. We have a terrific customer service department to help if you run into problems.

    Does it help to open your close nose?? I have sinuses and please someone tell if it does help

    • @NavageRocks
      @NavageRocks  2 роки тому

      Dear Steve,
      Absolutely! Nasal irrigation helps prevent the sinuses from becoming blocked and thus vulnerable to infection. When the sinus cavities are blocked and cannot drain properly, they can become sealed and isolated - efficient incubators in which viruses and bacteria can colonize and thrive. The blockage creates perfect conditions for the growth of micro-organisms that cause infections.
      What matters for maintaining good sinus health is that the tiny drain channels connecting the sinuses to the nasal cavity remain open and unblocked - so the mucus manufactured by the sinuses can drain into the nasal cavity and ultimately into the stomach, and not get trapped inside the sinus cavities. A closed, blocked sinus cavity that can't drain causes pressure to build up inside it, and it is a perfect incubator for infection and can also lead to sinus headaches. The good news is that there is significant clinical evidence that the tiny channels connecting the sinuses to the nasal cavity are rinsed clean by nasal irrigation - and this is one of nasal irrigation’s greatest benefits.

    what does it do? does it like put water in your nose or something?

    • @NavageRocks
      @NavageRocks  2 роки тому +1

      Dear Max,
      Great question! Naväge works by mechanically flushing, cleansing, and moisturizing the nasal cavity with saline. This removes irritants such as allergens, airborne germs, environmental pollutants, and dried mucus.
      In response to your second question, yes! Saline enters the nose through one nostril, flows to the back of one side of the nasal cavity, makes a U-turn at the posterior margin of the nasal septum (that's the gap between the rear edge of the nasal septum and the rear wall of the nasal cavity), flows back through the other side of the nasal cavity to the front of the nose, and then out the other nostril.
      For most people, this takes less than 30 seconds! This is made possible by gentle suction, powered by a precisely engineered, miniature diaphragm pump that draws the irrigant from the Upper Tank, through the nose, and into the Lower Tank.
      Please let me know how I can be of further assistance.

      Dear Shavana,
      We’re sorry to learn that the button won’t press and your Naväge Nose Cleaner is not working, but we have good news! Very soon you'll have a working Naväge!
      Extensive customer experience has taught us it's very unlikely there is something wrong with your new Naväge Nose Cleaner. Every single device is individually checked, tested, and confirmed to operate according to exacting specifications before it leaves the factory. As a result, virtually all Naväge problems are the result of completely understandable but common misconceptions about how Naväge works, and we know that almost all problems can be fixed in minutes! Best of all, when the problem is fixed, you’ll experience the promise of improved sinus health that attracted you to Naväge in the first place!
      Nearly all problems stem from either:
      1. Not having a SaltPod inserted in the crushing chamber, or having it inserted incorrectly.
      2. Opening the crushing chamber after inserting a SaltPod and before using the device (NO
      PEEKING!); or,
      3. Dried salt crystals that have built up in a critical area.
      Please note: IN THE ABOVE CASES, THE POWER BUTTON WILL FEEL LIKE IT’S BROKEN BECAUSE YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO PUSH IT IN ALL THE WAY. (But don’t worry, it’s not broken!)
      A member of our Customer Support team would be delighted to walk through a quick troubleshooting procedure we know is effective for resolving most issues.
      You can call us at (800) 203-6400, M-F, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Eastern Time, or if you'd like to get started on your own, there are some terrific troubleshooting tips and troubleshooting videos posted on our website.

If there is a product defect, we will replace your device at our sole expense, including shipping - immediately, cheerfully, and without a hassle. We are unconditionally committed to your complete satisfaction and want you to be delighted with your Naväge!

    I've been looking at getting one of these for awhile now since I used to always use a neti pot. But I got spooked away from that years ago once I learned about Naegleria fowleri. How is this handles with this unit?

    • @NavageRocks
      @NavageRocks  2 роки тому +7

      Dear Ninjaembryo,
      Great question! Regarding potential bacterial risks associated with irrigation devices, we are aware of two issues that receive public attention from time to time:
      1. The extremely rare presence of a dangerous amoeba, Naegleria fowleri, in the water used to create the irrigant. To avoid exposure, the US FDA advises using filtered, distilled, or previously boiled water for nasal irrigation, and the US CDC provides detailed information about boiling, filtering, and disinfecting water for nasal irrigation at www.cdc.gov.
      2. The buildup of bacteria and viruses in nasal irrigation devices caused by the failure to properly clean the device after use. The underlying problem is that viruses and bacteria from your nose may be transferred to the device, under the right circumstances of temperature and humidity, the germs may colonize and then be reintroduced into the nose upon subsequent use. If you use the device daily and rinse it thoroughly before and after use, the risk is quite small. If the device is properly cleaned after use, the risk can be eliminated completely.
      I hope this helps. Please let me know how I can be of further assistance. You can contact us directly by calling (800) 203-6400 from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., M-F, ET.

      c. Rotate the Nasal Dock 180° to reverse the flow, and irrigate in the opposite direction for about 10 seconds;
      d. Gently blow your nose again;
      e. Rotate the Dock 180° again;
      f. Repeat until the rinse begins to flow into the bottom tank.
      This repeated “back and forth” will help flush out the congestion and allow the rinse to flow from one nostril to the other. Persistence pays!

      Based on extensive customer experience, you’re probably limiting the suction somehow and I think this video on UA-cam will help:
