    Just bought my unit. This morning, the water went through really quickly and I felt like I needed a second go. Mixed up salt water in my traditional neti pot, opened the top of the Navage and popped the used pod out. Poured the mixed solution into the Navage up to the fill line, popped the used pod back in, tripped the upper switch as shown in your video, closed the lid, and I was back in business. I probably *will* buy pods, but not for every time I use it. So far it seems to get better results than my traditional neti pot and squeeze bottle.

    0ver 50 years of serious allergies resulting in at least one or two sinus infections a year. Several years ago I got a Navage because my physician told me to use ay netty pot and I hate them. Seriously the best thing for decreasing congestion, infections, and overall improved breathing. But I also noticed that on days when the CPAP left my nose/sinuses a bit dry, a quick run of the Navage moistens it right back up. I have never regretted this purchase.

    I buy those Neil-Med saline powder packs which you can get really cheaply. I have an 8-ounce water bottle I fill with warm water, add the saline powder packet and shake for 10 seconds - Then pour it in the machine and save money.

      Another alternative is using a big syringe with a separately sold nasal tip to fit in and I use the off the shelf normal saline water..... Yet using an automatic machine is pretty good if one can afford it.

      I met a veteran once who had the same problem and a regular neti pot wasn't helping him, his doctor told him to buy the squeeze bottle and shoot the solution hard in so that it will reach into the cavities where the infection is. I suggest you visit an otorhinolaryngologist and see what they say, they may have a more modern and effective solution as well.

    • @alyr7443

      @Alex-ny1qg I wish they would advise more. I'm sensitive to a lot of things and my allergies are terrible. Easily having triggers. But not long after this comment I had to have my sinuses scraped and allergy shots started. This is after two rounds of leviaquin and methylprednisolone. Unfortunately, my ENT has seen me quite a bit the last two years.

    • @Alex-ny1qg
      @Alex-ny1qg 6 місяців тому

      @alyr7443 sorry to hear that you have is so rough. Hopefully with this new device you will get better, I suggest you do before the seasons some rinsing just to be sure and you could also try good grade hydrogen peroxide solution for rinsing your sinuses, you can look online about details but I suggest to buy a 3% solution and use it diluted with destined water, or boil the tap water for at least 3 minutes on the stove to kill all bacteria and then create a 1.5% solution each time you rinse.
      Another way to help you is to get NRT(Nasal release technique) it's a balloon inserted into your sinus which then is pumped with air for just a second and it expands and creates a cranionasal release which helps with sinusitis among a plethora of other things. But of course visit a specialist for this.
      I hope you will get relief or even better greet completely cured .

That's why I'm curious if the other unit has more power

    I'm sure this machine and netti's or bottles work for some folks. But they are limited in that can only reach the lower nasal passages and only rinse out what happens to be there at that moment. I don't think these devices will do much over time to reach the source of the crud: the UPPER nasal passages and sinuses. That said, I do get a brief thinning of post nasal drip from a bottle style rinser, that along with FloNase spray and staying hydrated helps me sleep better - along with CPAP.

    Nicko mate that thing is overkill. Get the same results cheaper as I do every night. Get the NeilMed kit at your drugstore (simple bottle with the sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate packages) warm the water up a bit in the microwave & get great results without that big clumsy contraption in your bathroom taking up space. Love your channel & all you great sharing info. Have a great day mate!

    The engineer(s) that designed the mechanism should be fired for allowing such easy workaround of the cartridge trigger mechanism. If I was on team, you would not have such easy way of bypassing. hahaha

    • @water2770
      @water2770 7 місяців тому

      I think it depends on what the design was really for. If it's for the printer reason yeah not great, but on some of the tutorials like for troubleshooting the motor he says its so people dont shoot straight water and cause irritation. Could be both, but in the first case if you looked up a bypass you probably know to put in some saline salt with your water which is still a fair enough design.
