- Are you looking for a great quality garden parasol for this summer? Take a look at the IKEA SEGLARO parasol from IKEA. After owning this IKEA parasol for 2 years this year, I am still over the moon with it. It's strong, well priced at £125 and the suggested base is great at keeping the parasol grounded, even with just water in it as we've had.
I wanted to show you what it was like to use and how tall it is! I love the fact that the IKEA SEGLARO has a 360 turn on it, as we're in a nearly South facing garden it gets a lot of sun and being able to turn it around means we can follow the sun and keep the garden sofa shaded.
Also as this IKEA SEGLARO parasol has UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating of 50+, which means it blocks 98% of the ultraviolet radiation. You can fill the suns heat reduce it straight away as soon as you go under this IKEA parasol.

After 6 yrs umbrella is showing tears on top canopy. No complaints I have 3 and use sand in the base. We store them after summer in the original box
Sand base we just stack them 12 high (3x4-12).

Thanks! I've only ever used water in mine and had no issues, but I do always take mine down when it's windy as I don't want it snapping. If it's in a generally windy place than the more weight the better

being outdoor for 2 yrs has the metal on the base rusted? As they did say Aluminium not suppose to rust
Not that I notice. The video of me using it was done when the video got uploaded, so you can see it's still in very good condition
The metal pegs also rust and Ikea don’t have spares

Great video thanks. Just wondering if you’ve any tips for us as we bought this parasol in 2019 and used it last summer. Taken it out for this summer but we’re having trouble with the umbrella folding down at night time . Any help or advice would be grateful TIA
Have you tried greasing up the moving parts, maybe they've got stuck? I am not sure otherwise, sorry
What car did you have when you purchases this? I have a Toyota Rav 4 and was wondering if it would fit if I had the passenger seat reclined?

Hi! Many thanks for the video… I bought one of these two weeks ago and I have an insecurity about the resistance to movement caused by the wind. It makes a lot of noise and makes me feel like it's going to warp the structure. It’s not about the balance, know that strong wind can make ii fly. I consider the wind force to be normal, I live on the 5th floor, it shouldn't supose a problem. Do you have any experience with this? It would help me a lot to know your opinion. Thanks!
Yes it does move in the wind, and I know what you mean about the noises! Any umbrella like this shouldn't be left out in the wind as it will struggle, but I'm not sure how much it can take. Sorry not very helpful!
Hi nice video I have the same Seglaro but I've chosen a different base for it, from leroy merlin and it sits perfectly even when it's windy.
What cover are you using for it? I'm looking to buy one but I can't find anything compatible
Ikea do a parasol cover for this, we use that one.

But is it waterproof? Can you sit under it in the rain and be protected?
IKEA say on their website 'With a light, passing rain shower, you can stay and relax under the parasol since the canopy repels water.' - but from my experience you wouldn't want it up if its windy
When you move it in the video it seems to move rather quickly. Does it move around a lot when it's windy?
It moves around quickly as it turns 360 and isn't clipped in when doing this. I pull out the metal pin to allow it to move around. It doesn't spin with the wind

I've not used it as a shelter from the rain before, so not sure how well it would cover for the rain 🤔 sorry!

Has anyone put this on (lockable) wheels so it can be moved around?
I did and it works reall well. But you have to build a heavy base and attach a pull cord

Hi after 2 years outside at the rain, the iron base completely rusty and broken down! I have contacted IKEA and they do not sell only the base and no other peace is compatible ... end of the story I have to buy another parasol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! be careful with this

I'm not sure where your home is. In Malaysia, we can buy the base separately for RM 300.00, which is approximately £55.00 at the current rate of exchange.
Hi I live in Italy and here IKea do not sell only the base! I called them and they answered me I should buy the parasol new!!!
We store them in the original box for winter. Starting 7th Summer. Signs of rust yearly but we clean them before storing.
