Very beautifully played. He did a pretty good job of bringing out the counterpoint in the left hand. Personally, I'm a fan of a bit more ornamentation in the 2nd movement and maybe a bit faster.
Que musica genial… Ah Bach como vc engrandeceu o planeta vindo a nascer aqui com tanta graça e beleza na alma pura e conectada a Jesus…. Para então escrever obras magníficas!💓🇧🇷🥰♥️
I think it’s actually harder than grade 8 and it’s also very expressive. To pull it off very convincingly with correct tone production and authenticity rather like in this vid you’d likely be of an FRSM level.
What I don't understand about the largo, which starts in 3:32, is that the piano is the main instrument played all along the movement but at the end (6:58), right in the extasis part, the piano stops playing and lets the violins finish the movement... It's beautiful like that though but I still don't understand why this happens, why that pleases us so much. Should there be a reason?
Late response, but yes. You can see the Petrof name right on the fallboard in some of the closer shots. Looks like it's possibly one of the older concert grands from a little before they rebranded/redesigned then raised their price. I thought to myself, given the warmth of the alto and tenor range of the piano, not to mention that classic bell-like treble/soprano region, it sounded VERY Petrof to me, and I'm pleased to see that my ears did not deceive me.
@joeyblogsy It blends in mutch better with the orchestra than a piano. Bach never had a piano in his ears when he composed this. Mozart was the first composer who, in his late years, had something of a paino, and that is why his pianoconcertos sound so much better together with an orchestra. Bach was a great composer, but he couldn't be the best in everything. He never wrote a pianoconcert , an opera, a symphonie ore a concert for trumpet or horne. Mozart did all of that. Bach never travelled more in his life than a hundred miles from his bearth place. Mozart was in Britain, France, Germany, Ostria,Italy, and the Netherlands. Thanks to the father Bach never had. That is why Mozart is my favourite composer together with Bach.

Best piano version on YT. Absolutely mesmerizing!
Wtf UA-cam, don't put an ad in the middle of a concerto!
Seriously

Thank you for your beautiful music! I am amazing that youtube put only 554 likes while more than 200000 views. So beautiful !
Beautiful interpretation. Nice and slow, really brings out the beauty in this piece (the Largo)
I admire all pianists who can play these concertos from memory! Great rendition!
O, they are not so hard to memory:)
@@ichtisek They might not be so hard to memorize for extremely gifted people, but certainly for ordinary mortals.
Excelente interpretacion del pianista y la orquesta...

Beauty aside, I think this is Bach's most accessible piano concerto, because it's technically his "easiest".

What is the brand of the piano? Is it a Petroff?

Bach never wrote a pianoconcert. Only for harpsichord. That is why it sounds so strange.
Strange? It sounds amazing on piano. It doesn’t have nearly the same level of power on the flimsy harpsichord.
