@@Kanjo_Bazooie the way I am is my favorite Em track ever simply because of the rapping the production, it was the first track he produced on his own after learning from Dre on SSLP so it was like he wanted to impress Dre and show him this is what I've learned and also he's a perfectionist anyways. The anger in his voice and his flow melts into the beat on the way I am, crazy good, this track is in my top 5 tho and is also amazing
This is one of, if not THE, most personal tracks that Em has ever released. All the beefs, all the hype and s**t-talking tracks don't even come close to how much this track really reflected Em's private life. Not just at the "time of release", but his whole upbringing and family dynamics that he had to deal with for decades that even some of his closest friends had no idea of what was really going on. And yet, in a way it is very fitting that this one track is often considered Em's best tracks to listen to. Not just because of the lyrics, or the beat, but because it really gives you a true clue to the man behind the music.
Right... Em and his mom is legendary. And for all those other people of the culture who say they can’t relate to Em his work, in my opinion, is more relatable than the gansta and drug dealing stuff. I feel like Em has talked about real stuff whether you went through it or not but you can feel it.
“How dare you try to take what you didn’t help me to get” is a reference to a lawsuit his mom filed for 10 million because in the song Hi My Name Is he says: “My mom does more dope than i do”. She ended up winning like 10k but after legal fees only about 1400 dollar was left
We never know what everyone else is going through or has been through. Always give people love and respect as people first. We are all struggling in our own ways.
YES! I've been waiting on this one Stevie! 'Headlights' next! PLEASE! It's a perfect song to do next! Please like this comment so Stevie can react to Headlights! 🖤
Love your Em reactions & Thank you for reacting to one of my fav Eminem songs! You owe it to yourself to watch the video (if you haven't already); the effect is as powerful as 'Stan'. His childhood was horrific and as soon as he got successful his Mother (Debbie) tried to sue him to get her hands on his fortune, selling stories to tabloids, accusing him of lying about her when he wasn't - it just hurt him more even more that she went to those extremes instead of taking ownership of her wrong-doings. He even adopted his little brother (Nate) to get him away from her neglect and abuse. It just makes you respect Em even more for turning his life around and becoming one of the greatest artists of all time.
Eminem show hands down one of the most emotional raw pieces of art ever produced. "This is for anyone who's going through some shit in they're lives, so they sit at home cry at night wishing they died. They throw on a rap record and they sit and they vibe. We're nothing to you but we're the fuckin shit in their eyes." ~ Sing or the Moment 💯
The pain in this song is palpable. It's so relatable and speaks to so many of us that went through similar shit. This and The Way I Am are so personal and truthful. It's part of why stans feel the way they do about him.
I’ve been meaning to comment for like 8 vids now but just wanted to appreciate that you don’t let yourself get bullied into being fake, so many channels pretend like they love everything em has done because them stans be extra weird about someone’s opinion. Obviously you react to me because there’s an opportunity to grow and hear someone who’s talented . But it’s crazy people don’t understand you can find someone to be talented but not necessarily find replay value in every song. A lot of songs do have replay value but a lot more are stuck in an era that doesn’t really represent me anymore. Keep up the good work and please don’t change like everyone does with em reactions
I was 19 when the Slim Shady LP was released. Was among the first of my friends to hear it (I was a huge Dre fan so first thing I noticed was the beat) ... At the time I heard it and still today his greatest verse, and in my personal opinion to any verse in the history of not just rap, but music, the 2nd verse in this song is just unbelievable. Em has something I think only Biggie had too, and that's that flow, where not just the words at the end of the line are rhyming, but almost every single word in every line doesn't just flow perfectly, but it's actual poetry and tells a deep story. You could see Em in your head yeah, but more importantly you can feel him in your heart. And probably the reason it hits me so personally is cause like so many of us, he's talking about some of the things we're going through, and to know there's other people out there that came through it, just really makes it so much more impactful. He's a living legend, but his greatness unfortunately won't truly be recognized until he's gone.
I appreciate it this song.. This is one of the few songs where he dials back on trying to cram word play and crazy rhyme schemes into every line. He focuses on the content over the technical stuff which I appreciate and its dope. When people say he has not content its just word vomit, I point to this song and some others he did in that era.
This song is what got me into Em, he pours his soul in the music and thats whats special with him, Great video as always Stevie. 'when im gone' is another song like this one that you have heard before but not with ya new ears 👍
I relate to this shit so hard. A lot of times didn't go how they should've with my mom. Dad was non existent. Keep up the good work stevie. Love watching your vids
This track will always be my favorite EM song. This was just raw and pent-up emotions. He let his listeners in on his life. Headlights was his song to his mother apologizing for not understanding what his mother was going through being a single mother and all. Good shit Mr. Knight.
@@DailyDoseFromAmber It's a line from Eminem's song Marshall Mathers: "My fuckin' bitch mom's suin' for 10 million She must want a dollar for every pill I've been stealin"
The gun line really happened. Basically he followed Kim to a club where she was with another guy who was the bouncer (I think) Before he confronted them, he had taken the bullets out of the gun and basically waved around an empty gun for intimidation. He talks about it again in Sing for the Moment. The guy said Eminem pistol-whipped him but Em says that he gave the empty gun to someone else and only punched the guy.
Hey man! I know you could never predict doing this would have an impact like this but, your videos on my fav. Artists tech and em really helped me distract myself going through drug withdrawl and in a way relate to someone so i wasnt feeling so down. I myself love listening and breaking down these artists and just watching these was a life saver. Keep doing your thing bro. Thank you.
At this point Em was very angry with his mom and Kim in his songs. The I’m sorry mama part is ironical I think. He has many songs about his “beef” with his mom.
It took me forever to really the "I'm sorry mama, I never meant to hurt you, I never meant to make you cry" was sarcastic. Cuz he sings it so good and puts almost Sincere emotion into it
I’m from uk and can remember when Em came on tour here back in the day , it was on the mainstream news being debated whether he should even be allowed in the country even politicians putting there 2 pence worth in as well
'headlights' he released after his drug addiction apologising to his mom as he understood and didn't blame her for doing drugs and being the way she was.
Thank you brother for trying to understand as much as possible from each reaction you are doing great work over here, I can't stop watching your reaction playlist
He is just the best at telling a story. Other rappers can rhyme and make a punch line here and there but he tells a full story and almost always says multiple lines about the same topic before moving on. It's like other rappers are writing in sentences and he writes in paragraphs. You're just going to get a fuller picture and understand more from Em than anyone else. When you combine the ability to communicate better with his lyrical ability and rapping skill, it is just something special.
Stevie you are awesome. I appreciate you recognize eminent lyrical ability but can still be unbiased and say he doesn't make club records, but like you said club records are not everything. Your reactions are fantastic man.
Rony was his uncle that killed himself inside the house an they called his mom to give her the bad news !! reason why he said that in this song!! REMEMBER WHEN RONY DIED YOU SAID YOU WISH IT WAS ME!!
It's amazing how you can go through so much as a kid, and still become a lyrical genius. He's cleaning out his closest.... he's getting it off his chest! They tell you that first off in therepy. His music is truthful!

This song always makes me cry like a little bitch. My mother is the only one I had all my life and I couldn’t imagine going through something like this with her. I’m glad my mom did as good as she did. I’ll forever be grateful until the day I die.
I didn't see it at the time, but Eminem is legendary. This song, "The Way I Am", and to some extend even "Without Me" show how great his skills were and his reaction to his real life and celebrity life. Vanilla Ice was the main white rapper while I was kid, Em came out when I was most impressionable to music. I didn't realize how lucky I was to be exposed to his stuff then, but I do now.
I remember hearing back in the day that the first lines to this song Em thought of rhyming was Kim & him both / Eminem Show. He started with that a structured everything else around it. That always seemed crazy to me.

I didn’t get that. Was Kim mentioned in that song. I don’t remember. Cause he said “I would’ve shot Kim and him both”.
@@jwdathefax377 he saw Kim kiss the bouncer. Thats when he pistol whipped the dude
@@oglaveil4359 doesn't he say in sing for the moment " it was a fist that hit you"???
@@bradshaw1996 yes not referring to this incident in that case
Never put those together. I see it now clearly!
Everytime I hear this, I can feel his pain, emotions and passion he out into this track. Always gives me chills sheesh
Definitely one of his greatest beats ever!
The way I am is my fav em beat but this one is definitely more polished. Em was a sick producer when he wanted to be
@@Kanjo_Bazooie I'm a fan of Til I Collapse personally, but I think we all agree that Em is an underrated as fuck producer.
Most Definently!
@@Helldog6 definitely!
That third verse is gut wrenching this is a classic song and so good
This is one of, if not THE, most personal tracks that Em has ever released.
It was the one that kept me glued to the screen back in the day (yes, I'm that old. Fuck). That chorus... man, gives me chills
Yes, and now the one about his Dad on MTBMB.
@@queencerseilannister3519 leaving heaven
That flow is so ridiculous no one is ever gunna do that again. 🔥
A fun lil fact: Em originally made this beat for Bizarre
That would have been such a waste of a great beat.
@@TylerLL2112 facts yo Bizarre would be saying some nasty 💩 but that's what he's known for
True ... And Jeff Bass produced it with him (among other songs ... Jeff Bass a legend nobody knows about).
Thank fuck Em rapped on it instead. Jesus, Bizarre’s goofy ass would’ve ruined this shit.
this song right here got me through so much shit and emotions growing up... hell so many of his songs did. forever in my top 3 of all time.
Stevie - oh em had beef with his mom? I didn't know that.
Man he opened up a whole new door lol
Right... Em and his mom is legendary. And for all those other people of the culture who say they can’t relate to Em his work, in my opinion, is more relatable than the gansta and drug dealing stuff. I feel like Em has talked about real stuff whether you went through it or not but you can feel it.
Are you for real.everybody knows.this tracks at least 20 years old
this song is not only super bitter sweet if u can relate but the artistry is amazing as well
“How dare you try to take what you didn’t help me to get” is a reference to a lawsuit his mom filed for 10 million because in the song Hi My Name Is he says: “My mom does more dope than i do”.
This song was all over the place when the album released. The music video played often on VH1 and MTV
Yeah “headlights” addresses this song.. also do fack, it’s a total different vibe...
I hate that song with passion but real reaction to would ba ...uh intersting.
@@dank2171 Tbh I feel like no life shaq gave a really good reaction to that
@@dank2171 Fack!!
Fack no. I'd rather listen to Lil Pump than that song lmao
hahahaha ... let's get him to react to FACK lmao
*Headlights* Next
like this so he sees it!
headlights would definitely need to go after this one
Yes
Headlights
He has to
Absolutely
The only other song that brings me chills like this, disturbed down with the sickness, the last part..... man....
''Who made this beat? I'm assuming Eminem made this beat.'' Is the new ''Killing them with cadence.''
I love this comment 😭😂
😂😂😂😂
So true lol
YOOO deadass 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 😂 LMAO. Facts
Yeah Stevie! He produced this whole track. Many people don't know Em is a producer too, thanks to Dre pushing him to do so. Fire track! 💪🏼🔥
Since cleaning out my closet WHEN I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE SNARE
Beat me to it, haha. Do you still BELIEVE?!
The Glad Town IN ME
believe is such a underrated and overlooked track
Amen
It really is. That whole "motivation to go Hussein with the flow..." section always makes the hairs stand up.
"He had alot of beef with his momma"
-that is definitely an understatement
I relate to this shit so hard. A lot of times didn't go how they should've with my mom. Dad was non existent. Keep up the good work stevie. Love watching your vids
This track will always be my favorite EM song. This was just raw and pent-up emotions. He let his listeners in on his life. Headlights was his song to his mother apologizing for not understanding what his mother was going through being a single mother and all. Good shit Mr. Knight.
The kinda stuff that people subjected to a life of trauma wish they could just say or that the people in their lives would talk about.
He talking about money bro. His mom tried to sue him for something like 10 million
She must want a dollar for every pill he's been stealin'
@@JesusPlaysTheFlute nahh she sued for far more money than that lol
@@DailyDoseFromAmber It's a line from Eminem's song Marshall Mathers:
"My fuckin' bitch mom's suin' for 10 million
She must want a dollar for every pill I've been stealin"
In the end she only ended up getting like 2500$
Yeah she did.and I think she got like a couple hundred bucks.should of been a better parent.theres lessons there for all of us with kids
"see they can trigger me but they'll never figure me out" this line sticks to my brain like glue. relatable
Headlights is a must when this song is fresh in your mind!!
The gun line really happened. Basically he followed Kim to a club where she was with another guy who was the bouncer (I think)
Before he confronted them, he had taken the bullets out of the gun and basically waved around an empty gun for intimidation.
He talks about it again in Sing for the Moment. The guy said Eminem pistol-whipped him but Em says that he gave the empty gun to someone else and only punched the guy.
Headlights should be next.!
I just listened to majesty with nicki again. . And damn he went off
He did on Chloroseptic as well
Majesty is a bad ass song
@@mtchmtchll Chloraseptic Remix verse was EASILY one of the best verses of 2018 and is debatable in getting into Top 10 Diss Verses from Em 👌🏼💯🔥
THIS song introduced entire genre of rap for me.....bought this album.....rest of Em's stuff, and I'm a hip-hop fan now
He is just the best at telling a story.
Who else talks to Stevie like he can hear you? 😁 "Did that really happen?" Me: yes! "Did that really happen though?" Me: YES!!
I think it lol
Omg I'm not the only one lol 😂 😂 😂
😆😅😂
Haha you’re not alone
I just googled “Eminem censorship fcc” and a bunch of articles from 01-02 on fines and congressional hearings.

I was waiting for (THE WARNING TRACK) pls 👍so we get Steve's reaction
Im 33 and grew up listening to em. But everytime i hear his old songs it hits different. Still brings that same old feelings.
Stevie your reactions are awesome! Really appreciate the work, you can see the dedication. This is my favorite beat of all time no question. Let's bring it Bak 2 Bars!!!
I really love how you admit you’ve heard a song before and that where you are at and your perspective is difference now. Things hit differently when we are n a different place.
Stevie...now you should react to HEADLIGHTS.
I like these reactions... he's really thinking his responses through.
i really like to see "beautiful" and "sing for the moment" on your list
In headlights he also goes deeper into the story of his brother Nathan as well, was very interesting to hear more about him over a decade later.
Watching Stevie going from knowing Em can rap to understanding why Em has the following he has. It's great fun.
This was the song in the early trailer for the movie 8 Mile. It was later replaced with Lose Yourself before movie was released nationally.
"Raw" from the bad meets evil album
He already did u can find on Patreon, but i think he release on his youtube chanel try search ^^
He was arrested for pulling that gun on Kim and dude at a club.
Not Kim he pistol whipped on the dude
Everyone hated on Em's production skills ALL THE TIME.
Which is ridiculous. I never understood that. I always stuck up for that shit. And now people are realizing its sick
Shoutout to you bro. I've watch alot of different reaction channels and most bars go over there heads and it's refreshing to have somone not only hear the bars but respect them.
Man I swear this is the realest reaction channel out there. Stevie we recognize the hard work you're puttin in, balancing the job and the channels and everything, it's good shit bro we definitely fuck with it. Random suggestion - it'd be really cool if sometime you went back through a few of the Em songs you did earlier on in your Em journey, giving a few another listen with your new "Em ears", even a few tracks off of his newest album I'd bet we'd all be stoked to rock out with you again
This is one of my favourite beats ever.. this is genuinely one of ems best beats, mad thing is he doesn’t always pick the best, but when he does pick the right one? 🔥🔥🔥 anyone who can’t appreciate this beat must not be hearing what I’m hearing. Shiiit.
Eminem made the beat🔥 There is fottage of people protesting Em in the actual video. If you search for "Eminem 2001 grammy report" you will also see the fottage☺️
This is the first eminem song I listened to, I really started fucking with him after it
This song always makes me cry like a little bitch.
In South Africa the chorus was used in English bar exams
lol
I remember hearing back in the day that the first lines to this song Em thought of rhyming was Kim & him both / Eminem Show. He started with that a structured everything else around it. That always seemed crazy to me.
When he's talking about his mom trying to take what she didn't help him get, it's about her trying to sue Em for 11 Million dollars.
been waiting on this one coach... appreciate it and also appreciate you feeling the emotion in this song. gives a little insight on ems lyrics and songs throughout his career
