The fact you changed to an explicit version made me wanna watch the rest of the reaction. Thanks, man! Can't stand listening to reactions with clean music. Everything gets lost. Definitely checking more of your stuff
The stuff his mother did to him was inhumane. If I recall when his mother originally sued him, his grandmother testified on his behalf that he was definitely telling the truth that everything he talked about in his lyrics for songs like "Cleaning Out My Closet" was exactly what she did to him.
Broooo.. you have no idea, his life is like one crazy ass movie, it's amazing how far he got in life with all the struggles. When you finally understand all the details and context of his lyrics, it'll hit way harder.
The thing about Em is that his truth is his truth and he drops the mic like it’s on fire. He helped me through a lot of dark times because I didn’t see that it is perfectly okay to have your truth, and rhyme it too. I choose kindness because of those dark times. What a powerful track
There is no “his truth” or “your truth” there is simply the truth. What happened to him is the just the truth. When you say things like “your truth” you make it sound like there is more than 1 objective reality when there is not. Might seem like a petty criticism of your comment, but the clarification matters greatly.
@@princeofgreece9054You are one of the most righ and truthful people that has never gonna exist. At least that's my true. 😅 "Everything is objective, but we don't know everything."
Eminem, I don't know what I'd be like without him growing up. I have no time for his new stuff just because it doesn't speak to me at all (not saying it is bad) but his old stuff raised me through some absolutely shit times. When shit was bad I'd draw him in his comics I'd buy whilst just replaying his stuff over and over. I'm nearly 30 now and always sometimes i recluse back to that person i once was and just blast Em haha. He's an absolute legend, and for me the GOAT.
I use to listen to this song (and others) while hiding in the laundry hamper in my closet. I imagined Eminem was talking to me. I'd pretend that he was my friend and when I listened to his music it felt like someone was going to save me from my step dad
Nathan is Em's half brother and when the state put him in a Foster home...Em petitioned for custody of Nathan! Eminem did get custody of Nathan so he didn't have to stay in a foster home or go back to their mom! Em's a good man!! You dont talk too much! lol. Why dont you start at the beginning of Eminem's discography! That way you learn about Eminem and his life in chronological order! Things will make more sense as you go along! 😁
My man was speechless and ends the video by saying; I'm talking way too much... Nah bro. I enjoyed your reaction. I was 17 back in 1999 when the Slim Shady LP dropped and changed my taste in music in a massive way. I was really into Metallica, Nirvana, Soundgarden,... Still all great Bands ! But Slim took over hard and fast. With the Marshall Mathers LP in 2000, there was simply no going back. Now nearly 25 years later I understand more than ever why I connected with his music the way I did. Me and millions of other Shadys.
So glad you got the uncensored version or we’d miss half the song haha. But yeah this is actually a response song to the stuff he mentions in it of course. His mom suing him and actually making a cd trying to bash him
I do enjoy your reactions…A+ …Em is unique and your reactions to his songs are very insightful for a young person.. and switching to explicit double A++.
You couldn't have said it better, he doesn't need to apologize whatsoever for speaking out about childhood abuse that could have KILLED him. His mother had munchausen by proxy and was putting valium, xanax, pine sol and other chemicals in his food for the attention and sympathy it got her. He easily could have died and people think the song "went too far" or that the newer song Headlights was him apologizing for them "both being wrong" like.....? No. Its not airing your dirty laundry in public when you couldn't consent to what was happening to you.
I have had a happy childhood with my loving parents but very close to me, my best friend suffered from an absent father and an alcoholic mother. My parents used to buy him the textbooks, toys for Christmas etc and other friend's parents helped too. And we we listened this song for first time, he cried like a baby because he has suffered nearly all of this shit (even his older brother died for overdose). Now, he is a very respectable lawyer but for him is still very painful remembering or talking about his family and his childhood.
It's a damn shame that his life had to start this way in order for us to get his music. He always uses the music videos to fully express his thoughts/feelings
His lyrics were offensive to some parents..lol. He's the reason there are "Parental Advisory" on CD's! They protested & demonstrated against him...incl the Vice Presidents wife! He was banned from MTV! He has been put through a lot!!! I have been corrected...Advisory came out in the 80's! I think its cuz of all the protestors & demonstrations against him ..I think that's what made me think that. But the rest is right! lol.
@Gonzo York Yep Yep. I knew them as NWA. I have to admit my ignorance here... I had no idea 2 Live Crew were the same guys. I followed bands like Queen, The Police and Bowie so it figures I wouldn’t know. 🤓
@@jeanine6328 I dont know why I kept thinking that it was his era! Must be just cuz of all the protesting that went on about him! You'd think if there were Parental Advisory notices on music CD:s...that would take care of it! Why all the BS cuz of his lyrics?! Even the Vice Presidents wife had her panties in a bunch over Em's lyrics! lol
@@Sunny-jz3dy They were just a lil too honest and hard. No one had gone after their own mother before in a song. Plus, he was white so he wasn’t supposed to be so hard and angry. Little did people know, he had it just as bad if not worse than other rappers out there. He was just more willing to share, what many felt, was too disturbing of a story. I’m a huge rap fan, I prefer the early days of rap with RUN DMC, Tone Loc and Beastie Boys. However, I do really like some of Ems stuff and have the utmost respect for him.
My boss/friend is one of the protesters who would get quoted on shows for protesting him in the late 90s & early aught. He felt he was homophobic. I felt it was more nuanced although at the time use if homophobic language was rampant. So hid casual usage certainly helped bring it front and center as an issue. Personally, I find it art reflective of the time. Much like Howl was obscene literature until it was taught on university campuses.

You should react to Headlights by Em. Like Yuuta sad sequel to Cleaning out my Closet and in the song he states he regret making cleaning out my closet.
Bagpipes from bhagdad, same song and dance, buffalo bill, stay wide awake, brainless, infinity, what’s the difference, not afraid, space bound, going through changes, my mom and still don’t give a fu*k are all good songs I recommend.
