What model of shock do you have? I have a set of really old shocks that i need to replace the bushings in (I'll upgrade eventually but they're still good) but they couldn't pull anything up from the number on it. But the bushings in mine look identical to yours. So if you could tell me what model yours are i could order replacement bushings for mine. Thank you.
Looks like he got the old rubber bushing though so he did need the metal sleeve. The new progressive bushings that don’t need them are a hard polyurethane that are a bitch to get in without a press.
@@KnobleMoto I haven't yet. But thinking i may order new shocks.. Not sure how long these have been on the bike.. They look like they've seen some miles..
Great video!! I also ordered stock bushings.. Glad i watched this before i pulled shocks and bushings..
Glad to hear it helped
FREAKN AWESOME VIDEO!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you brother! It was helpfull!
You’re welcome
💯👍👍
You have my vote !
Thanks!
Awesome thank you! I have to do this on my Sportster progressive shocks.
Glad it helped!
What would you recommend if it still on the bike?
You are going to have to unbolt the shock from the bike to replace the bushings. I don’t see a way around it.
Use a drill and drill bit to get the old bushing out will walk it right out look it up on UA-cam there's videos will make the job that much easier!!!
I feel like the bushing would get jammed on the but, and that would cause a lot of grief. Does it?

They are progressive’s entry level shock. I don’t remember the number now.
The new bushings from progressive from what they told me do not need to insert the metal sleeve into it like the old bushings had.
Well shyte. That would have made the whole task simpler. Either way, it’s good info.

@@BossMan302 squeeze them down with a hose clamp to get them small
Enough to start in.
so you dont have insert the sleeve?
@@dennisfab3869 not on the new bushings however the bushings in this video are the old ones so they need the sleeves.
Дякую, Вам!!!
Why do so many aftermarket shocks not utilize a rubber bushing, just a steel sleeve in the eye? Sounds like a cheap way of manufacturing something.
I have no idea
Glad that wasn't my shock, would need it blasted and powder coated to get rid of the marks left by the vice jaws
They sell touch up paint. It’s not a show bike. If it was, it wouldn’t get ridden enough to wear out the bushings.
Put wood blocks on your vice
Cut them out
The bushings?
Well new bushings came but are not the right size👎
Oh that’s sucks. Did you contact them
