no gloves, no vice, no eye protection, shoes falling apart, not even a bench to work on for many of the steps. all done by a guy who is in better physical shape than 95% of Americans, and who is equally top tier in terms of being facially attractive - yet here he is, doing THIS job.

The oil is even better when used a 2nd time… same with the worn out parts. And the Bondo, my god.
The best is mixing all different brand of oils..Red, green..... 20w, 40w....85w......etc.
Yep it can’t cause cavitation with old oil… Smh 🙄

думаю что сделано хорошо, т.к ремонт стоек по видимому поставлен на поток, незнаю кто они пакистанцы или индусы, но придумали как удешевить , клиент при покупке естественно должен понимать что вещь восстановленая таким способом, и работает пока работает, люди там явно не багатые и не готовы платить крупные суммы за качественный продукт.
@@error41100 Все в целом норм, но заливать грязное масло, а учитывая что там клапан стоит, что то попало и амортизатор не работает, водитель и не поймет этого, тут видимо совсем ремонт ниже плинтуса, для бедняков.
Вынужден не согласится, газовая сварка лучше электрода, окалины меньше будет, а учитывая сколько там внутри говна, лучше уж газ 😆
@@stepan84 есть такие услуги, но я лично амортизаторы на трех машинах делал себе и другу, если сальник изношен, то и смысла с такого ремонта нету, а многие за такое деньги отдают.

Ох, эффективность этого ремонта вызывает большие сомнения :( Хотя давным-давно мы с отцом в отсутствие денег подобным образом ремонтировали передние амортизаторы на ВАЗ 2108, правда масло все же заменили на новое, но хватило этого ремонта на пару сотен километров :)))
Однако их спутник достиг Луны,а наш развалился. Я думаю что это наше будущее

Ну ничего, годок или два , а потом так же в гаражах будем ремонтировать свои амортизаторы.
Это масляные, там нечего нет сложного. А вот газовые и газомасляные, вот там да. У нас в основном используются щас газомасляные, там давление газа от 30 атмосфер, так бы вскрывал, без глаз остался.

Да и штатные переделывали на наши патронного типа, просто срезая оголовок, доставая и вымывая внутренности, изготавливали гайку и новую заставку с резьбой(для наращивания исходной гильзы), сваривали и собирали. Выгода преследуемая, простота и цена. Либо покупать стойку новую, либо просто патрон новый поставил в 3 раза дешевле
I’m still not sure what they rebuilt? All he did was take it apart, clean the parts, fill with the old oil, and put it back together. Aside from looking better, why would it perform any different
They are cheating ,selling this rebuilt by imitating new.

It's the seals, I believe. They're usually thin, Teflon cylindrical sections, but it looks like he stretched an o-ring onto the piston. I'm pretty sure that's what he was pounding home the first time he put the top back on. I've done it that way for hydraulic cylinders on out-of-production convertible tops. Buna-N is a perfect o-ring material, and it'll take the shape of the interior space for a nice seal.
The dirty oil is interesting: newer shocks and struts use tightly toleranced valves, so a little grit would undo all his efforts.
Replacing the seals and gaskets are the key here I think. Too bad they wear no eye protection, masks or gloves.

Been there, and so...no. Gabriel plant. Im one of 6 shock absorber reconditioning companies in Australia. Most of this is correct, but I cringe at other points.

Don't worry the oil inside the shock is not heated at 350 degree when is welded and it will work perfect!!
Oxy-acetylene torches are over 3,000°C… I’m amazed they can perform that process without damaging the oil and seals he just (presumably) replaced.

Не дай бог такой купить. Лучше уж самому переделать по такой же схеме, хоть масло новое зальешь и продуешь все. А тут грязной тряпкой вытер, которую потом бросил тут же на землю, налил старое масло, которое постояло 10 минут, типа грязь уселась. Полный жопенс!

Пол года, то это нормально ещё, ставил на спектру как то давно, ориг, причём 100% не подделка, хватило на неделю нового орига.

I find it fascinating that in all these eastern workshop videos, everyone is always working on the ground, and or using their feet or a big toe as part of the tools.
For safety reasons workbenches are forbidden Pakistan.
This way nothing can fall down from any tables and chopping off some toes.
But i don't know the reasons why toilet bowles are also forbidden.

These probably are the same people Gabriel gets to make their shocks for a dollar a piece. So they can sell them to you for 200 a piece.
@@fernleytire I wouldn’t doubt it. Gabriel have only lasted around 5-6 months before they started leaking

Я давно так делаю,но только меняю при этом сальник и диски клапанов,ну и масло новое, тряпка чистая безворсовая и компрессор для чистовой обдувки,и работаю на столе
Разобрал почистил грязной тряпкой пару ударов молотком собрал и все будет работать 🤦🏻♂️

I like how they rebuild everything, but I'm not even sure they understand what they do, like putting body filler on the weld and ruining the rod seal (which I don't recall seeing being replaced) sanding it on a drill with one end of the shock not spinning...??? I'd rather have apparent welds...

Pretty interesting, cut open and dump oil out , chisel it apart, mix in some quality Pakistani sand, pound it back reinstall the old oil and braze it shut. Wire brush and bondo then paint. They will never know the difference.

Esto me recuerda tanto a mi papa como a mis tíos que a esto se dedicaron a reconstruir amortiguadores tanto estos tubulares como a otros anteriores que se les llamaban de caja que los traían modelos de los años cuarenta, y si ellos llegaron a dar garantía de tres meses, esto lo hacían en los años 60. Y de hay salió el sustento para tanto la familia de mi papa como la de mis tios.
